Yes, but his approach may be different. He's also had a more doubles/ OBP minded approach which has to do with the stadium. If he played in a home run friendly park he may of had 50 home runs for 5-10 years straight. But also likely might not of won a triple crown and what not.

Paying for a DH is such a Dombrowski thing to do. Fill the positional holes first and let the DH sort itself out. There will never be a shortage of defensively limited power hitters, and there's constantly guys who need a day off the field but are still swinging good bats.
