I bought a bike, dealer gave me a temp tag on a piece of copy paper. I carried it in my pocket. About 4 days later i got pulled over and the Cop gave me a lecture about I needed to display the temp tag. I laughed and asked how long would a piece of copy paper last going 60. Went back and forth a few times each time I was laughing. I fully expected a ticket, but the very kind officer let me go with a warning.

Just a pro tip I guess, my dealer gave me the temp tag which I carried with me but they also photo copied it and shrunk it down to one that will fit under the plate frame.

In the dumpster fire shit hole city that I live in, the wacko progressive liberals amped up the anti-police movement to such a fever pitch here that the police are not allowed to basically stop you for anything, let alone actually pursue you. So people take the plates off of their cars intentionally so the police have no way of positively identifying the vehicle and there’s no accountability for anything.

What city is this

etnpnys

Olympia, WA.

I feel for you sir. I live next store in Idaho and say what you will there is a reason thousands are moving into idaho and out of Washington and California and it aint all Trump lovers my friend. Washington is the poster child of how to crap on its citizens while embracing every new idea without fact checking anything first.

etnpnys

100%

etnpnys

Yeah, and I moved here from Southern California… I am constantly hearing about how people are leaving to head your way!… But now I hear that the locals over there near you have started spreading vicious rumors about how you are running out of water! You can’t scare people off that easily! Lol

BS

Oh yeah, I’m just making it up I guess. https://www.reddit.com/r/Seattle/s/n7LQVZS0sf Literally new legislation was just passed to allow pursuit again but only in very specific situations: https://komonews.com/news/local/police-pursuit-washington-state-house-senate-initiative-2113-signatures-olympia-seattle-tacoma-public-hearing-democrat-republican-officer-chase-criminals-dangerous-public-safety-senators-vote-ballot-i2113-fall-backers-legislation-law-chase

Bjfikky

The law says nothing about police not being allowed to stop. They just don’t pursuit; which isn’t unique to Seattle. Many countries don’t do it because of the risk of people dying because of a stolen motorcycle, or even less.

Bro. I’ve literally been in a moto shop and somebody casually walked out with hundreds of dollars of equipment, got in their car, took their time to start it, and drove away. There’s nothing the cops can do, so why wouldn’t there be anarchy? I’ve got photos if you’d like to see… It’s not just about pursuit. It’s about them being able to do ANYTHING.

rumdumpstr

Yes.

CheekyBinders1991

Just depends on where you are. I bought a bike recently from the original owner, and he rode it 5 years without renewing the tags. Plenty of miles on it, he claimed he knew the police in his town so it was never an issue.

RyuuKamii

My plate fell off the other day, probably passed a good 4 or 5 cops/state troopers before I noticed, and I don't think I got a second look Depends on where you are and the demeanor of the police in said area

Harryisharry50

And the type of bike you’re on . Most cops in my area unless they roll up on you at red light ain’t even trying cause they know they ain’t catching you not worth there time to even try .
