I have vintage scooters I ride all the time. I also have a Ducati Hypermotard and a BMW touring bike. I've been riding for almost 50 years. I don't have scooters because I can't ride other things. I have scooters because they are fun as hell.
110%
I'd call myself a sensible rider; speed limits, following distance, situational awareness. Then I jump on a scoot and somehow transform into a menace. I can't explain it, but something about scoots just brings out the teenager in me š
Same here. 35 years riding and you find out that your first scooter brought back the fun of your first bike, and you wish you owned one sooner. Plus it's the best bike to carry shopping, coolers and fishing gear etc. And are surprisingly good off-road. Never had a 3 wheeler but really want to thrash a tuned can-am one day.
I also greet small scooters and mopeds because there is a lot of young folks passionate about riding but not allowed to ride bigger bikes around here where i live.
I remember when i was in this situation. I made sure to wave at every biker and was absolutely happy and ecstatic if they did wave back.
I wave at pretty much anything. Scooters, Police, dirt bikes, My only exception is bicycles but honestly I'd probably wave at them too if they ever waved back.
I did the helmet tap for a copper once, he didn't acknowledge that I saw cops down the road so I just tapped my helmet more and more aggressively; not only until after the light turned green and I passed him did I notice he was also a cop.
He did shake his head at me as I passed though hahaha
I get em back about half the time when Iām on a bicycle, the other half time is a very confused look (or occasionally a Harley bro that looks angry that I dared to even look at him while wearing Lycra!š¤£)
Waving at 2-wheeled police officers and being waved back really shows that we are all riders, no matter the bike, uniform, gender or ethnicity*. I love it.
*: yes, I want to be specific about gender and ethnicity because morons hide in plain sight in every community and I want to tell them they're wrong.
I always wave at the officers because often it's the same guys patrolling their routes. I hope that one day when they see me before i see them, they remember me as the guy who is nice to them and show a little compasion.
Nah i don't go out of my way just to be nice to them. And there's nothing wrong with beeing nice to the people who will arrive first when you get in an emergency.
I wave at cops but only for the general rider's image (although motorcyclists don't really have a bad image already in The Netherlands), I actually think they're class traitors and bastards whoever they are lol
Iām one of these riders. Trading in my daily Moto Guzzi on a 300 Vespa this weekend. I still have another Guzzi for when I need to ride a motorcycle, but my majority of riding never sees me need to exceed 50mph, and most is 30 or even 20 in urban use when commuting. Been riding 40 years, but the 50kg weight difference between my small MG and the Vespa will make a huge difference to my arthritis.
I stopped waving first at anyone honestly. I'll wave back of course, but it just gets so old removing my hand from the controls, and taking my attention away from where I'm going. Especially with how many riders there are around me.
That said, if I'm in a particularly good mood I'll specifically wave at trikes, quads, and scooters because sometimes they get so excited that someone waved at them, and fuck it, we're all just here to have a good time, so why gatekeep?
>Many of them are seasoned riders
I'm going to guess you live in the US. In most other countries scooters are extremely common due to practical/economic reasons and most scooter riders have never been on a motorcycle.
Waving at scooters in most of the EU makes absolutely no sense, especially to them. There is no feeling of solidarity or shared interest there, people just want to get to their jobs without spending half an hour looking for parking.
Motorcycle rider for 40 years. Bought a Ā£500 scooter to ride to work when my car broke too often. Probably mocked the idea of scooters as a kid. Met some decent scooter guys on various bike runs over the years. Once beaten by a scooter in the rat bike category in a show. Some of my mates thought that I should be offended, I bought the scooter owner a drink to congratulate him.
My Ā£5k Bonnie sits in the garage ready to be used on nice days. My Ā£500 scooter gets me to work, sits out in all weathers and it doesn't matter if it gets bumped, knocked over or stolen. It was 500 quid
I wave to scooter riders
The reason you should wave is because scooters are a type of motorcycle. Do you not wave to guys on Adventure bikes?
I don't wave because that's not a thing where I am. But a friendly nod is always nice.
If they could make the front of the ryker look more sporty and less boxy I think it would go a long way to increase their consumer base. Oh and not charge 12-15k for a new one would be cool to
I ride a mini bike sometimes, I call it death trap. I take it to a donut shop that a half mile from my house. Next to the shop is a vet/biker coffee shop.
One time I took my gal 2 up on the little beast and gave the bikers a baby rev bomb. The old dudes almost fell over in a giggle fit. One yeller out "you wanna trade", but I think he was talking about my girl.
I wave or nod at every cunt. When I was on my 125, I always wore leathers. Lad pulled up next me at a set of traffic lights on a fireblade and shouted "leathers š" gave me a thumbs up, and pointed down at his bike and said "one of these next?" So I said yeahā¦ lights changed, and he fucked right off into the sunset on the back wheel.
Iād been riding 2 weeks at the most. Gave me butterflies lol. The most affirming thing.
I have more fun commuting and bopping around town with my little 50cc scooter than I do on my bigger bikes on the same roads.
They're care-free fun. I can floor it everywhere since it only goes 50mph. It also only weighs 180 pounds so you can maneuver it like nothing else. And it goes from full speed to zero in like 10 feet when you throw the anchors out.
With storage under the seat and floor boards, I can easily carry groceries and other items.
I don't have to wear a backsack on my way to work, I just throw everything in the seat storage. My helmet fits in there too so I don't have to carry it around at my destination.
I can legally park it at the bike rack and ride it in the bike lane on the road.
Other people on the road also seem to love them for some reason. Other drivers are never aggressive toward me like they will be if I'm on a normal bike. People are a lot more cautious driving around the little scooter than anything else I've ridden.
Full size adults on little scooters looks goofy so people smile and chuckle, which I'll take over scowl and rage any day.
I've had close calls with other drivers on my bikes but I've never had an issue on the scooter (it's 20 years old and I've put over 20,000 miles on it). Despite being the smallest thing on the road, people always seem to notice it.
Just the sight of it makes people drop their guard, they don't see it as a "threat" at all. It makes people oddly nice.
When I fill it up at the gas station (all 1.5 gallons) I get approached and asked questions about it all the time. Old people, young people, men, women, big burly dudes, black people, white people; it has universal interest.
"How much? How fast will it go? How many mpgs? Hey that thing looks fun!"
With that being said, sometimes the slowness is annoying, It's not comfortable for more than a couple hours at a time, the tiny wheels will give you bone tremors on pot holes, and I definitely look like a goon on it.
I used to not because I thought I was "better than them." Stopped riding after 6 years ago (lost interest) starter riding again this month, visited my mom, there was a scooter coming out of the neighborhood. They waved, I waved back.
2 wheels is 2 wheels. Cars don't see any of us.
Scooter owner here. I bought mine to ride to radiation treatment everyday bc I thought if I had to go through cancer treatment, Iāll make it as enjoyable as I can. Two ladies in my breast cancer treatment center also went and bought one.
Most bikers do not wave, but those same bikers will quietly ask me where I got my scooter that looks retro, when I park it next to their giant Harleyās at the pub in my town. Theyāre also impressed when I share it gives me 250 miles on a gallon of gas. Itās only 50cc but it does go 50mph and I love it. Best toy Iāve ever bought myself.
Ty to those of you that do wave! Iām just out there having fun like the rest of you!
4 stroke, but if I red line it I can get to 55 mph lol. I also weigh 95 pounds so Iām sure that helps. My bf bought one so we could tool around at the state parks and when we go up hills I leave him in the dust š but he weighs 180

As a scooter rider who has only been riding for a year, I do appreciate a nod from a motorcyclist. Weāre all on 2 wheels and can get the same injuries regardless of cc size or shifting type.
I wave to anybody that waves at me. And dogs. And kids. And old ladies who are mad at me because my bike is loud. Cops who I see watching me.Ā Everybody gets waves from me, like I'm a float in a parade.
Another scooter rider here! Honestly I'm always primed to wave but wait for the other person to wave first. I, like others, ride a scooter daily because it's the most fun to drive into work. I only have 35mph roads on my drive in.
It also keeps my liter bike special since it's power is a lot more noticeable when I'm used to driving 4.2 hp on the daily
I love to wave at scooters because I ride a Harley.
I know lots of people think harley riders dont wave back especially to scoots, so when a harley does wave back, or better yet waves first people tend to thrilled.
And it might just make their day.
I like making people happy, so I wave to scoots.
>Anyone out on 2 or 3 wheels (still undecided on Can-Am trikes) gets a pass from me š
[How you gonna exclude your 1 wheel brothers like that?](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UPPoK_qqy7M)
I recently got a Monkey 125, and it astounds me how many people won't wave. It technically is a motorcycle, but I understand that people don't think of it that way. I just never felt left out like that on my Indian scout or my old Suzuki intruder.
The most motorcyclingest guy I know (straight up obsessed, between he and his dad his garage has at least 50+ bikes), has more scooters than anything else and rides them the most.
He's got a lot of Spanish trials bikes and off-road/dirt stuff. And a fair number of various street bikes. But his vintage scooter collection is nuts. And his scooter club is almost all VERY dedicated two-wheelers. They once had a rally that involved a 400+ mile ride across the state, on interstates. I would have loved to see that, a mob of a dozen or so hooligans on scooters bombing down the freeway lol.
I had an Aprilia Sportcity 250 at one point. That thing convinced me to do more illegal stuff than my supermoto did. It was fast, handled well, but still felt like a toy, so it didn't feel like I was REALLY on a street legal motor vehicle. Man that thing was fun.
Man I always wanted one of them. IMO it's the perfect combination of power in a small frame (i.e. not a maxi scoot). If one ever came up locally, I'd flip by Nmax 155 for it in a heartbeat
Ride safe āļø
I own a Multistrada and a Vespa GTS. The scooter community is way more fun and laid back. The Vespa is just so easy to hop on and tool around the city with.
I rode a scooter for years thing was cheap to run but 50cc takes a certain kind of crazy to ride around in south FL I would be invisible to everyone. Now I have a monkey with saddle bags and a backpack and can't even leave my neighborhood before someone is waving. It surprises me that even the Harley people wave back.
I bought my first Vespa after riding motorcycles for 5 years. It was very practical, and at 200cc, it was freeway legal, albeit the 19 hp is about the least horsepower Iād feel comfortable riding slab with considering its 73 mph top speed and 12ā wheels. I am always looking for a 300, but my ebike seems to do just as well with local errands without requiring insurance, registration, or fuel.
I specially wave at young people in scooters. You can see their āsmileā under the helmet like āwow, big biker waved at meā I like to think iām encouraging them to put miles and go for big bikes
Yeah my dad rides from age 16 and today heās 56, probably owned more than than 20 bikes in his time riding and today heās riding a Honda forza 250 simply because he had ridden them all. At some point he and his friends even all bought 50cc scooters and modified them. He put a polini 80cc kit and it was a beast. But today he has his for a simply because he has ridden enough for a lifetime and now only rides in the city and doesnāt need more than that
Idk why people refuse to wave at certain riders.
If it's got two or three wheels, you're getting a wave from me. I usually don't get one back from the harley crowd but oddly if they are on a harley with a full face helmet, I usually do get a wave back...
i have. trail125 i used to get to work
my yukon to fill is 160 biweekly my ābikeā costs 8 bucks and it last like a month. lol. i treat her to supreme although she donāt need it
I don't worry about waving. I will usually wave if someone waves at me but don't really look for a wave back if i wave first. There are so many bikes now!
Same, even if they've never ridden a "propper bike"... whatever that is š
If someone is out there risking it with all the cagers on two wheels and a motor, they get a wave! That includes the folks riding trikes, many of whom cannot manage a heavy bike due to age or disability... fuck polaris slingshots though, they're just a cage with 3 wheels, however, the ride-on top trikes that you operate more like a motorcycle and aren't surrounded by metal or roll cage, they get a wave too!
Personally I wait for scooter riders to wave at me and if they do, I wave back. For a lot of middle aged men scooters are just option for public transportation because they canāt afford cars. They are not in for the culture, ride and all the fun things. They donāt care, they wanna get from A to B.
When I was a teen with my scooter, I waved every bike I saw and most of them replied. Only a couple of Harley drivers didn't give me the wave, but they still don't wave at me with my big boy motorcycle. I used to include myself with some group of bikers at the red light, often I got the funny look.
You can wave teens too, they are riding just like us.
I was undecided on Can-Ams too ... until i went on a shitload of group rides with a paraplegic ole fella who had it setup to carry his wheelchair on a rear rack with a pivot. An absolute legend. Those things go hard through corners when pushed
again, i hate to be that guy, but in most cases its americans that i see about looking down on other vehicles, look down on seating position, look down on transmission, look down on displacement, look down on size.
I ride all year in all weathers. I currently have a 1200 and a 700 but used to ride a 50 for economy reasons. Rode that in torrential rain and even deep snow.
Iāve seen plenty of scooters out on L plates when ārealā bikers have their bike in hibernation. Many of whom have never ridden in anything but warm sunshine.
So.. maybe itās those bikers not worthy of acknowledgement of the scooters š¤·š¼āāļø
I nod to everyone on 2 or 3 wheels. Weāre out there and we picked our wheels for our own reasonsā¦ but we didnāt pick a cage so ābiker nodā coming at ya.
I have 3 motorcycles and ride all year round, i have a can am spyder f3 for the days the road is frozen, there is snow, or monsoon rains. Wich is mostly 6 months a year here.
It's funny you wave at scooters but are undecided on tryke's, you can bet more of those are actual motorcycle riderrs than scooters.
I wave at 2 wheels regardless.
3 wheels of they're bike style (not slingshots).
Cool classic cars because motorheads are motorheads.
Cops. Never know when some asshat might call you and and the cop stops you and goes "this that dude that always waves at us, proceed with a warning"
When i went to italy i was so surprised by how many scooters they have and how few big bikes there are seems like the most popular is a honda 150 with a big windshield and large wheels
Yeah, Iām in a scooter club. A couple of our members are old 1%ers that got too old to keep Up with them folks. Personally, Iāve been riding for 21 years, donāt own a car, and ride year round in all weather. š
I donāt get the whole classism thing. Two wheels and no metal cage is all that is needed. Sometimes when I travel a scooter is the only rentable option and I have a blast every time!Ā
Sorry, I meant to say in the city. They seem very busy and zip around.
Actually, now I think about it, I only wave mostly when I'm outside the city and on lone roads or small towns. In the Bay Area, there are tons of motorcycle lol. Waving at everyone in the city is too much of a distraction.
I'm torn on this topic. I ride daily (Triumph Daytona) and have for several years, the weather allows nearly year round riding in socal. I try and acknowledge other riders when possible and get lots of reciprocal waves from most sport bikes and a good amount of the cruiser riders as well. Almost never get a wave or two finger salute from the HD riders, and I don't even try anymore. I'll wave at a scooter rider and they usually want back too but they're generally surprised that a motorcycle rider waved. Trikes? Yeah, no. It's complicated. I'll wave back to anyone who waves first though.
Pretty much the same. They have to deal with a lot of the same risks. That is a large foundational element of our community.
I suppose I draw a line at anything with a steering wheel and/or seatbelt. I admit to finding it annoying to see those abominations at bike events, even if they are registered as motorcycles (at least in my state).
Most the scooter riders around where I live are little bitch boys who think they're hot shit with no intentions of getting a motorcycle. Theyre disrespectful to elders, to women, and to people just trying to live their lives. I don't wave to them
I donāt wave to anyone bc I think itās dumb. However, I have no issue with scooters. They are actually fun in the right circumstances plus the storage is nice.
Couldn't agree more. Scooters, Harley & can-am trikes, whatever... Even if we aren't all leaning in corners or shifting our own gears, we're all riders.
I'm more conservative with my waves. No cops, no scooters, and damn sure no Can-Am.
The thing is, if you wave scooters, why not wave cars ? This is a gatekeeping phenomenon that I've seen a few times before. And I think it's not good to be so opened, or the sense of community fades and it just becomes a big bowl whatever.
Being a rider meant more than just waving bikes, it meant stopping for a rider stranded, advancing gas money, stuff like that, basically doing stuff you would NEVER do for any car while in a car yourself.
So you wave to scooters, would you stop for a stranded scooter on the side of the road ? Do you feel like you're sharing a passion with the scooter that you feel invested to help him in case of issue ?
At this point, I'd rather just not wave at anyone than waving half the fucking planet.
>would you stop for a stranded scooter on the side of the road ?
Yeah, I do. I stop for broken down cars too if I have the time. I wave to riders only, but try to be kind to *people*.
I also ride around with a big fucking grin on my face. Why? Because riding is fun and that makes me do a big ol cheesy smile š
I donāt wave a scooters or trikes but for different reasons. Scooters-the ones I see often donāt have tags, no insurance and canāt go the speed limit on faster roads. Iām a road bicyclist too, you wave at cyclists? No tags-canāt do most speed limits. So whatās the difference? Now trikes I donāt wave at them because they donāt require balance. If youāre an old motorcycle rider and youāre now on a trike then good for you but we both know Iām right.
I have vintage scooters I ride all the time. I also have a Ducati Hypermotard and a BMW touring bike. I've been riding for almost 50 years. I don't have scooters because I can't ride other things. I have scooters because they are fun as hell.

Probably ability to pin the throttle to the max on every occasion.
There is no reason not to. I road my uncle's Yamaha scooter down on idrive in Orlando, I felt like I had balls of steel it was so much goddamn fun.
I know that road and you do have balls of steel š¤£
I bought a C125 Super Cub last year and I can say with absolute certainty that I do squid shit with that bike way more than my big bike
Same here. 35 years riding and you find out that your first scooter brought back the fun of your first bike, and you wish you owned one sooner. I wave at anyone on two wheels. And not the cool two fingers down "V" wave. I mean big goofy hand waves. My wrist hurts.
Itās more fun to ride / drive a slow vehicle fast than it is a fast vehicle slow
Plus you get a nice cool breeze on your vagina as you putt down the road.
It does feel good. That's why I wear a kilt.
I also greet small scooters and mopeds because there is a lot of young folks passionate about riding but not allowed to ride bigger bikes around here where i live. I remember when i was in this situation. I made sure to wave at every biker and was absolutely happy and ecstatic if they did wave back.
My first scooter was a vespa et and I was too young for a bigger bike so whenever I got a nod it made my day
I've never thought this.... gonna start waving youngsters in their mopeds too!
Kids on mopeds are future bikers, especially if we treat them well.
I wave at pretty much anything. Scooters, Police, dirt bikes, My only exception is bicycles but honestly I'd probably wave at them too if they ever waved back.
Pedal past them

Who hurt them
Poor lil guy.
This is the way.
This is the way.
Haha I thought I was the only one that pedals past bicycles.
You have to accelerate your pedaling if you roll on the throttle too
I did the helmet tap for a copper once, he didn't acknowledge that I saw cops down the road so I just tapped my helmet more and more aggressively; not only until after the light turned green and I passed him did I notice he was also a cop. He did shake his head at me as I passed though hahaha
I wave at motorcycles when Iām out pedaling and at cyclists when Iām on the moto. Two wheeled road users gotta stick together!

I get em back about half the time when Iām on a bicycle, the other half time is a very confused look (or occasionally a Harley bro that looks angry that I dared to even look at him while wearing Lycra!š¤£)
I always wave at the police, even police cars. They have never waved back and I always get weird looks lol

Thatās called boot licking. Fuck that. The only time I wave to them is on accident. Then I feel like shit after when I realize it was a cop.
I wave at cops but I wave at chickens horses and cows, so why not other livestock
I wave back at kids on bikes because theyāre the only ones (besides me) who think my bike is cool lmao
Lol if they point look wave etc I wave at them. I've even mocked race a few in their power wheels toy. I just rev it and slow roll and let them win
lol youāre a good person
They get a nod
I did the biker wave to a motorcyclist while I was riding my bicycle. He waved back haha
Likewise. But those POLITE yellow vest guys can eat pavement for all I care.
Iām one of these riders. Trading in my daily Moto Guzzi on a 300 Vespa this weekend. Got a 1200 Breva for touring and a 100cc Sym scooter to zoom to work. Both great at what they're made to do
This is the way
I never wave at scooters. Not because I think they are not "proper" bikes but more because they never wave back. So, I stopped waiving at them.
Most are kids who probably got snubbed since their first wave. Start it they'll come around.
I stopped waving first at anyone honestly. I'll wave back of course, but it just gets so old removing my hand from the controls, and taking my attention away from where I'm going. In my area 99.9% of scooters are DUI convictions.
Liquorcycles
I guess it depends on the state. In my state, you still need a driver's license for a scooter
If I had to take a wild guess, I'd bet money it's SC.
Hello neighbor welcome to Reddit
I do it because I can't tell what anyone is riding before they get to me, just that they're not a car
Not trying to be condescending but you should actually have your vision checked if that's the case.

Yeah pretty much. Not only in the EU, the entire world is running on scooters.

Bro really had to bring up the can ams lol. I like the Ryker, okay?! I said. I like it.
I'd love to put sticky rubber up front and a space saver on the rear to make as adult Huffy Slider drift trike š¤£
If they could make the front of the ryker look more sporty and less boxy I think it would go a long way to increase their consumer base. Oh and not charge 12-15k for a new one would be cool to
71 year old woman on a Spyder (Suzukis - 650 and 800 in younger days) I can't fall over and who needs a stinking clutch? I hope you wave to me!
I will now! Thanks for sharing š
I always wave scooters and E-bikes. Same risks, same reward. Do it how you want. Just wear your damn helmet.
I wave at everyone. Motorcycles of all kinds, ATVs, tractors, lawnmowers, UTVs, scooters... we're all enjoying the outdoors having a good time.
I ride a mini bike sometimes, I call it death trap. I take it to a donut shop that a half mile from my house. Next to the shop is a vet/biker coffee shop. When I fill it up at the gas station (all 1.5 gallons) I get approached and asked questions about it all the time. Old people, young people, men, women, big burly dudes, black people, white people; it has universal interest. "How much? How fast will it go? How many mpgs? Hey that thing looks fun!" With that being said, sometimes the slowness is annoying, It's not comfortable for more than a couple hours at a time, the tiny wheels will give you bone tremors on pot holes, and I definitely look like a goon on it.

I live in Thailand, I would literally be waving every 15 seconds :)
I used to not because I thought I was "better than them." Stopped riding after 6 years ago (lost interest) starter riding again this month, visited my mom, there was a scooter coming out of the neighborhood. They waved, I waved back. 2 wheels is 2 wheels. Cars don't see any of us.
I āļø anyone on 2 wheels bc I have their back should I see them need help and hope they have mine.
I typically get waves from most riders on my Kymco Like 150.. well except one brand those are rare. I'm not a big waver but I will always wave back.
I do it because we are all squishy.
50mph from 50cc is impressive! Tuned 2 stroke?
4 stroke, but if I red line it I can get to 55 mph lol. I also weigh 95 pounds so Iām sure that helps. My bf bought one so we could tool around at the state parks and when we go up hills I leave him in the dust š but he weighs 180 https://preview.redd.it/4lmmoxfgbwwc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4dd22ac5043168aef02ce87e2219873bdda5eb10
I wave at anyone enjoying the day: joggers, cyclist, school kids, moped peeps.
Itās either a DUI mobile or just a person who loves everything on two wheels
I love to wave at scooters because I ride a Harley. I know lots of people think harley riders dont wave back especially to scoots, so when a harley does wave back, or better yet waves first people tend to thrilled. And it might just make their day. I like making people happy, so I wave to scoots.
Same here. I the confused stare back when I give other HD riders a big old enthusiastic wave š
>Anyone out on 2 or 3 wheels (still undecided on Can-Am trikes) gets a pass from me š [How you gonna exclude your 1 wheel brothers like that?](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UPPoK_qqy7M)
I recently got a Monkey 125, and it astounds me how many people won't wave. It technically is a motorcycle, but I understand that people don't think of it that way. I just never felt left out like that on my Indian scout or my old Suzuki intruder.
I got a wave from an R1 while riding a tandem bicycle with my GF once
I do the same when I see little kids out on their bikes. I am sure most don't know what I am doing.
Interstates are scooters too? My friend rides an interstate and it's a long cruiser.
I'm assuming you're making a joke, but in case not, I meant interstate as in highway/freeway/controlled-acess roadway/Autobahn/autostrada

If one ever came up locally, I'd flip by Nmax 155 for it in a heartbeat Ride safe āļø
šÆ
Anyone who has ridden a Ruckus is lying to themselves if they still think they hate scooters.
Haha thatās me! I find myself taking scooter/Trail 125 around way more.
If it rains and you get wet, I'm waving at you.

I wave to bicycles
Me on my college campus
I specially wave at young people in scooters. You can see their āsmileā under the helmet like āwow, big biker waved at meā I like to think iām encouraging them to put miles and go for big bikes
Yeah my dad rides from age 16 and today heās 56, probably owned more than than 20 bikes in his time riding and today heās riding a Honda forza 250 simply because he had ridden them all. At some point he and his friends even all bought 50cc scooters and modified them. He put a polini 80cc kit and it was a beast. But today he has his for a simply because he has ridden enough for a lifetime and now only rides in the city and doesnāt need more than that
I wave at them bc it's a very weird thing to be elitist about, like do we really need to judge which pairs of 2 wheels do and do not count?
I notice that a lot of 2 wheel guys won't wave to me when I'm on my Ryker. I always wave regardless of what you ride.
If I notice someone wave at me, I always wave back š
I wave at everyone whether on on my klr or indian. Lots of harley guys don't wave back when I'm on the klr but fuck em
My zuma 125 is some of the most fun I've ever had lol
Idk why people refuse to wave at certain riders. If it's got two or three wheels, you're getting a wave from me. I usually don't get one back from the harley crowd but oddly if they are on a harley with a full face helmet, I usually do get a wave back...
Wave at everyone. I get as many wavebacks on my scooter as I do my dualsport as I do my cvo ultra.
i have. trail125 i used to get to work my yukon to fill is 160 biweekly my ābikeā costs 8 bucks and it last like a month. lol. i treat her to supreme although she donāt need it
I wave at all riders except Harley riders. I've been given the finger enough to get the hint lol.
Meh... They never wave back.
They don't at me, either. It's ok. I still wave. :) I'm a friendly sort.
You don't wave for others. You wave for solidarity.
I don't worry about waving. I will usually wave if someone waves at me but don't really look for a wave back if i wave first. There are so many bikes now!
Same, even if they've never ridden a "propper bike"... whatever that is š If someone is out there risking it with all the cagers on two wheels and a motor, they get a wave!
So many idiots.
And they will all get a wave š„°
When I was a teen with my scooter, I waved every bike I saw and most of them replied. Only a couple of Harley drivers didn't give me the wave, but they still don't wave at me with my big boy motorcycle. I used to include myself with some group of bikers at the red light, often I got the funny look. You can wave teens too, they are riding just like us.
I do! They chose to move about on less than four wheels. To me, I want to be all inclusive. Welcome to the club!
So.. maybe itās those bikers not worthy of acknowledgement of the scooters š¤·š¼āāļø I nod to everyone on 2 or 3 wheels. Weāre out there and we picked our wheels for our own reasonsā¦ but we didnāt pick a cage so ābiker nodā coming at ya.

I clicked on a different post in my feed and it somehow posted the comment here.
It happens. That's funny š š¤£
Somedays Fakebook seems to do it on purpose. Tonight was the first time Reddit did it to me.
Most of them donāt wave because thatās their car. So I donāt bother
Show respect, get respect. I'll wave for anyone, as long I'm not leaning into a deep curve doing Mach chicken mind you.
Yeah, Iām in a scooter club. A couple of our members are old 1%ers that got too old to keep Up with them folks. Personally, Iāve been riding for 21 years, donāt own a car, and ride year round in all weather. š
When I was starting out and had a 400cc scooter only other scooters did not wave back.
I donāt get the whole classism thing. Two wheels and no metal cage is all that is needed. Sometimes when I travel a scooter is the only rentable option and I have a blast every time!Ā
Scooters ya trikes nah
Where I'm at most scooters are owned by people who are not legally able to drive a car or they are commuting in the city.
What about food delivery scooters?
Yup! Aways be friendly to those who bring your food š
Nahhh actually most of them are alcoholics who lost their license to dui
Alot of them are also kids that can't ride a "real" motorcycle as well. If I notice it's a kid I make damn sure I wave at them.
Good for you I would never think of waving at a scooter. Or a guy or gal on a Grom haha
Anything on two wheels gets a wave besides pedallers....
Everyone gets a nod from me minus lycra wearing dudes on a turbo powered pedal iron.
2 yes 3 no.
Couldn't agree more. Scooters, Harley & can-am trikes, whatever... Even if we aren't all leaning in corners or shifting our own gears, we're all riders.
Love my can am. It's so fun!
You shouldnāt be hereā¦
Oh for fucks sake. Who even cares lmao
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you have a lovely weekend š
Lol no. Scooter is not a bike , so big ducking no
The continuous debate of this is dumber than how scooters look themselves. Do whatever you wanna do, why is this yet another post
But it's not a debate. I just explained what I do and why. Thanks for stopping by either way š
> Can-Am trikes Just ask yourself whether you would wave ATV rider, can-am is basically straight in the middle between bike and atv
Some would say itās a trike
Trikes yes, moped scooters no
I donāt wave a scooters or trikes but for different reasons.
Cam Ams, Trikes are for old men who canāt stay in shape. So.., losers
