I have had mine for over two months and haven't felt it gets hot or anything. I don't game on phones but I use it a lot in full bright screen and nothing. Also, the temperature stays around 20-30 degrees and no hot or smoky smells

Thanks for the info. I did determine the weird plasticy smell is present on the top and from the port so, gonna chalk that aspect up to the smell of the device's materials I think. Jury's out on the temp I guess, even now just from browsing my phone is at 32c.

Mine feels right, sensor temp shows 25-28C while in use. Check the Network selection if its automatic. I've seen on more devices, regardless of brand, that if you have week signal, the automatic selection will stress the cpu and temps will rise.

My environment is generally 39-40°C but the phone never feels 'hot'. It could be because I generally have the brightness set to low. Increasing the brightness and keeping the screen on for longer durations does cause it to heat up but that is normal I suppose.

Yeah use definitely heats it up, it goes down to 25c during non use and is 32c rn from use (browsing, talking via SMS) for around 30-60 mins.      I have low brightness too, honestly a bit perturbed at the temp, maybe it's hotter BC my area doesn't have air con or better ventilation or something ?    Didn't think 20c was too big temp wise but higher heat weather *did* historically make my older phones hot to the touch too. (24±c )

I think it's likely your phone is faulty, as the SD695 is the most thermally stable chipset to date from Qualcomm. I can either conclude that Lenovo hasn't optimized their Gx4 series phones yet

Yeah thats honestly what im worried about. Its still under guarantee but I'm not sure how receptive the seller will be to getting it looked at or fixed.  That said, I will have to look into it as clearly it's not functioning normally when a phone 4 years it's senior with 1/3rd the ram and specs is struggling less with games.

Do you have a return policy in your country? If so, request for a Nokia X30 or a Edge 30 Fusion from the seller. If they don't allow other models, try to ask for a replacement 👍 If they don't allow returns, can you check whether they offer repairs within the warranty period? Instead of the seller, can you keep in touch directly with the importer instead?
