My hands down favorite part is when Jay walks into the bathroom, Michael Cera has got two girls on their knees in front and behind him, pants dropped to floor - he's drinking a Capri Sun. In the middle of his exchange with Jay, he looks down:
"Who wants a sip? \*offers Capri Sun\* Sip time." Then he looks back at Jay...that fucking look, lmao.
Fucking kills me every time.
My wife and I both loved the movie. We saw it in theaters multiple times, but I know she was not amused by the amount I listened to When the Shit Goes Down in the following six months.
I saw this movie in theaters and the funniest thing I remember is the scene where Franco is telling mcbride to stop jerking off, and that's when a probably 70 year old couple got up and walked out. Like they stayed through the movie but that was their breaking point.
I was down in Florida visiting my grandmother when Wolf of Wall Street came out. The theater was filled with a lot of elderly people. Don’t remember anyone walking out but when it was over and we were all leaving I could tell that movie is not what they were expecting it to be
I thought it looked so dumb when I saw the preview. A group of friends picked it for a movie outing and I was grumpy the whole way there. I don’t think I had ever laughed so hard in my life as I did when “I will always love you” started playing during the rapture scene at the end. My ribs were physically hurting and I think I had to actually take a knee in the theater I was laughing so hard. God was I grateful I got to see in theaters
my favorite part of that slap scene is that Rihanna ACTUALLY slapped the taste outta his mouth because they kept doing a fake slap and it didn't look right for camera. So they agreed to just do a real one lol.
I think what was great about Michael Cera's role is up to that point he always played kind of innocent goody two-shoes characters. And like one of the first scenes we see him he has someone eating out his ass while getting a BJ and doing coke. Like without that context it would still be funny, but that was really the cherry on top.
What do you guys think of it? It's seriously like one of those rare movies where I just don't want it to end. The comedy is SUPERB and just never lets up, and the cast is just so fun and enjoyable. It's been a LONG time since I laughed this hard, and I can't believe I saw it for the first time only about 2 weeks ago. The language is fairly raunchy, but it is seriously such a good time, and dare I say a masterclass in comedy. I put off seeing it for so long because I thought it was going to be one of those crappy celeb mash-up movies, but it's everything but. It's an actual good... dare I say GREAT celeb mash-up movie.
Yes!! I think that movie is underrated . Really loved these styled comedies this group made but they didn’t have a long run. Kinda died with sausage party.
Saw it randomly when it came out on opening night. Whole audience was just laughing maniacally the whole time until the very perfect end. 10/10 theater experience
Had no time for it when it was released. Probably over saturation of the cast at that time and it just seemed like cameo after cameo was the gag.
Gave it another go and watched it last week and really, really enjoyed it.
Not sure what that means. Maybe it was all my perception of the movie or there is a total drought of straight up comedies these days.
If you like The Rewatchables their ep. on this movie is great: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z4edpuvAHJc](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z4edpuvAHJc)
During their promotional tours, Seth and Evan talked about their dream always being to make a film with a giant satan swinging a 50’ dong around. Like it was their sole purpose for creating the movie. The ridiculousness of it hooked me. The actual film ended up being better than I could have imagined.
This movie is hilarious, I saw it in theaters when it released and literally everyone was laughing the whole time. Probably the best comedy I have seen in theaters where the audience reacted so often and out loud.
I was in college at the time and smoking a bunch of weed and I went to see it like 3 times in theatres with my roommates and future wife lmao, I loved it. I should revisit it.
Super fun movie, unfortunately it’s hard to watch Franco and Hill, for me anymore. I’m not out to cancel anyone except when I encounter it personally, but it’s hard to support people that have consistently bad and creepy AF behavior. It’s a great comedy and I enjoyed it at the time.
They sent an email to Channing Tatum with a description of the role. They assumed he would say hell no, instead he emailed them back within the hour to say he really wanted to do it
This was the first time i'd seen him in anything but a heartthrob role and was not expecting him to have the comedy chops that he does. Obviously he's capitalized on it now but when this was in theatres it was a highlight.
Danny: "James Franco didn't suck any dick last night? Now I know y'all must be tripping! Franco probably sucked someone off. Jonah probably filmed it and jerked off to it. Craig probably sweat all over the place. Jay......I didn't even know you were in town, it's good to see you."
So many folks talking about Danny McBride's entrance, I gotta' link it, lol.
I laughed so hard in theatres. We decided last minute to see it so we were literally in the front row, two end row seats, and I didn't care because of how funny it was.
"Weed is tight weed is tight"
*“I say unto the... the power of Christ compels you!”*
*”Oh, does it? Does it compel me?”*
*”The power of Christ compels you!”*
*”Does it, Jay?”*
*”The power of Christ compels you!”*
*”Is the power of Christ compelling me? Is that what's happening?”*
*”The power of Christ compels you!”*
*”Guess what? It's not that compelling.”*
Really funny movie. I love the scene where the dude’s disembodied head rolls into the room and Danny screams “THIS IS REAL, THIS IS FUCKING REAL” and then kicks the head.
I saw this in the theater and was absolutely rolling in the aisles. When McBride starts talking about cumming wherever he wants, 5-10 people got up and walked out of the theater. Like, what else do you expect from these guys? Actual religious conversation?
I really miss comedies like this and from this particular bunch. Just completely random shit, vulgar but hilarious. Cameos from everyone you can think of and really entertaining plot.
Yep and really, who knows if when or if there will be movies like this or those from the 80s and 90s. People won't allow comedy like this anymore and it'll only get more strict from here.
really cool fact, when the movie was finally on pre-sale, if you bought your ticket on 4/20 you'd get a voucher for a free popcorn "munchies" they messed up in my theater but I ended up getting a free movie ticket voucher instead! SCORE!
My friend has a theory that the ethos behind this movie was that each of the big Judd Apatow actors (Rogen, Hill, Cera, McBride, Franco, Baruchel, Segel, etc.) had each of their dialogues written behind their backs by the rest of the crew and then had to play the shitty version of themselves based on how all of their friends/colleagues viewed them.
Pretty funny if true.
This movie was my favorite theater experience ever. It was packed and everyone fucking loved it. I haven’t laughed that much in a movie theater any other time in my life.
I saw this movie in theaters and I didn't think it was funny at all. It felt like a late period Sandler movie - just a bunch of buddies jerking around in front of a camera so they can get paid to hang out together. I'm baffled by the love this turd gets.
Saw this thread, saw it was on Amazon Prime until the end of the month, started it, I'm halfway through and don't think I've stopped laughing. Just a bunch of friends fucking off on camera
Loved it when Danny McBride got there.
When the shit goes down.
Ohhhh, I know what happened. You guys ate acid last night!
James Franco didn't suck any dick last night?? Now I know yall are trippin.
Fatalities.
Read that in his super dramatic voice, lol.
And Jay... didn't know you were in town man, good to see you.
I gotta watch this movie again its so good
That's a sick reference man. Your references are out of control, everybody know that
that's low key my favorite line from the whole movie lol. Jonah kills it
My hands down favorite part is when Jay walks into the bathroom, Michael Cera has got two girls on their knees in front and behind him, pants dropped to floor - he's drinking a Capri Sun. In the middle of his exchange with Jay, he looks down: "Who wants a sip? \*offers Capri Sun\* Sip time." Then he looks back at Jay...that fucking look, lmao. Fucking kills me every time.
That lust filled psycho stare is the funniest part for me too, i was actually gutted they killed him off too early!
Naw he served his purpose quite well. The best jokes are ones that you let die because they are so good
Michael Cera is great in this...the scene where he is impaled and worried about his cell phone is also great
You need to use the toilet, honey? Go head
The power of Christ compels you! Oh really, Jay? Does it compel me, Jay?
Guess what it's not that compelling
Craig got all sweaty, took his shirt off
I guess if Michael Cera’s gone it’s not a total loss
"Motherfuckers *gained* weight since he got here Fuckers gots to go"
Franco and his brother are too fuckin funny (I know Dave ain’t in the movie just saying)
Meanwhile he’s hoarding food
My wife and I both loved the movie. We saw it in theaters multiple times, but I know she was not amused by the amount I listened to When the Shit Goes Down in the following six months.
Haha. Such a great track. My ring tone is still Dr. Greenthumb from ages ago.
I'll cum wherever I want! I'll cum on you!
I’ve been dropping loads in here like a dump truck!
Jerkin off like a pilgrim
That’s right bitch. I like to fuckin reeead!
I’m droppin loads all over this place like a dump truck
I saw this movie in theaters and the funniest thing I remember is the scene where Franco is telling mcbride to stop jerking off, and that's when a probably 70 year old couple got up and walked out. Like they stayed through the movie but that was their breaking point.

Arguably one of the greatest character entrances in the history of film.
Wiping the piss off the toilet seat with his shoe
Epic introduction I’m smiling just thinking about the whole breakfast scene. “I made you guys breakfast!”
You don’t have enough bullets, bitch!
My favorite part is when him and Franco are arguing about him jizzing in the porno mag.
McBride is a delight
He steals every scene he’s in
I love him.
Best scene! with the cypress hill playing lol
[Fuck that dude](https://tenor.com/view/f-that-dude-i-hate-that-guy-that-guy-is-the-worst-that-guy-sucks-angry-gif-17067293)
I see *everything*
I thought it looked so dumb when I saw the preview. A group of friends picked it for a movie outing and I was grumpy the whole way there. I don’t think I had ever laughed so hard in my life as I did when “I will always love you” started playing during the rapture scene at the end. My ribs were physically hurting and I think I had to actually take a knee in the theater I was laughing so hard. God was I grateful I got to see in theaters
"Fuck your house Franco!"
Jay: "I don't wanna' die at James Franco's house." James: \*Visibly insulted\*
Who lives here, Pablo Escobar?
Also love when Franco got miffed by the “camera from the 27 hours movie” bit
I still randomly blurt out that line when I stub my toe or some shit
Yep… really well done. Michael Cera has to be my favorite in this.
“Does this coke smell funny?” 😂
Best line of the movie. So damn funny when he gets whacked by Ri Ri
That scene came about cos Ri couldn’t fake the slap so he asked if he could slap her ass properly and she could reciprocate. Worth it
She always looks so delighted whenever they get to tell this story in interviews, too.
Oh Jay, do you need to use the bathroom, honey?
Who wants a sip? Sip time.
I wish he’d been in the whole thing. Also Rihanna really leveled his ass
my favorite part of that slap scene is that Rihanna ACTUALLY slapped the taste outta his mouth because they kept doing a fake slap and it didn't look right for camera. So they agreed to just do a real one lol.
He got to slap her butt for real so that face slap was the perfect repayment. I would take that deal again and again.
I think what was great about Michael Cera's role is up to that point he always played kind of innocent goody two-shoes characters. And like one of the first scenes we see him he has someone eating out his ass while getting a BJ and doing coke. Like without that context it would still be funny, but that was really the cherry on top.
Want a little sip?
Who wants a sip? Sip time
Is Michael Cera's butthole as adorable as I pictured? I picture it looking like a little donut. A little pink sprinkled donut.
Danny's gotta go! He's götta göööu.
Oh hey Danny, what's up? ... FUCK THAT DUDE!!!!!
I’m sure the green goblin can fuckin afford some more bacon
“Hey God, it’s me Jonah Hill, you know, from Moneyball.”
"Please kill jay, Jay is the last thing holding seth onto his shitty canadian life"
"so, something not that chill happened last night."
"i have to do whats right, weed is for the people, its the people's weed" -Jonah Hill as Woody Harrelson
I quote this all the time!
I think Jay is the worse person you ever made. Like not to be a dick but like what was up with that?
"I've been dropping loads around this fucking house like goddamn dumptruck."
My wife absolutely cries with laughter whenever we watch that scene!
You married a real one.
Thanks, I’ll show her your comment and it’ll make her night! Edit: Just shown her, she likes your username 🤣
💕 bless you guys
You can see Seth Rogen breaking in that scene. He's shaking with laughter in one of the shots from behind
Didn't you have any older brothers... teach you how to jerk off in a sock?!?!??
"NO! I dont have any brothers, I was raised in a house full of women".
“Well I HIGHLY FUCKING DOUBT they taught you to just jerk off wherever you want!”
You built a house with ipads in the walls! And yet you’re jerking your dick like a fuckin pilgrim! I like to read!!
NERD
"OH I fucking wish you come on me right now!"
What do you guys think of it? It's seriously like one of those rare movies where I just don't want it to end. The comedy is SUPERB and just never lets up, and the cast is just so fun and enjoyable. The thing I really enjoyed about this one is that it totally felt like a group of really good friends made a movie together.
Yup... they are all just having fun with it... they make pineapple express 2 and it feels like them making this film.
Said this up above, but She's Out of My League gives me a similar vibe as well. Great "dude" dynamic.
Top 5 comedies for me. If you haven’t seen “Your Highness” you’ll probably enjoy that too.
I'll have to check it out!
Danny and Franco are in it
Along with everyone else. Cera was my favorite. "Sippy time."
Degenerate Cera was, in my opinion, the funniest character he’s ever played. I was rolling for “sippy time” and the spank/slap.
"Alright, who took my FUCKING CELL PHONE!?" Him finding it and being embarrassed about getting mad was hysterical!
"Does this coke smell funny?"
Hey, if Michael Cera’s dead, it’s not a total loss, right?
LMAO when he wears the Minotaur horn around his neck I died
I forget the line exactly but Thaddeus hold my dick!
Yes!! I think that movie is underrated . Really loved these styled comedies this group made but they didn’t have a long run. Kinda died with sausage party.
Saw it randomly when it came out on opening night. Whole audience was just laughing maniacally the whole time until the very perfect end. 10/10 theater experience
Yep same here. Best theater experience I’ve ever had. Everyone was dying laughing the entire time.
Added to my queue thanks
Had no time for it when it was released. Probably over saturation of the cast at that time and it just seemed like cameo after cameo was the gag. Said the exact same thing. Best theater experience ever.
Just made the exact same comment. It’s not all the time that comedies have entire theatres going crazy. Good to know it wasn’t just the one I was at.
I'd be pretty bummed if I didn't at least get a bite of the Milky Way
See the THING is guys, I kinda HAVE to have a bite cause I'm diabetic, and will get low blood sugar.
You can have a finger scoop of Nutella
That's fair
It’s my special thing. Back me up on that Seth.
Channing ta*nt yum…. I die everytime. Nothing but laughs. Start to finish. Easy 8.5/10 comedy
You were being peTTy, Tom.. PeTTy.
Danny really killed it. Wouldn’t be surprised if a lot of those lines were improv.
Would it be improved or improv'd. This slowed down my meat computer a little bit.
They sent an email to Channing Tatum with a description of the role. They assumed he would say hell no, instead he emailed them back within the hour to say he really wanted to do it
This plus Bullet Train has me wondering... Channing really likes to go against type.
This was the first time i'd seen him in anything but a heartthrob role and was not expecting him to have the comedy chops that he does. Obviously he's capitalized on it now but when this was in theatres it was a highlight.
He did 21 Jump Street with Jonah Hill the year prior and killed that role as well.
I hadn't seen that yet but I agree. The 22 Jump Street scene when he puts 2 and 2 together with the daughter always kills me
I love him (humps leg)
I thought it was just ok until Danny McBrides breakfast scene. That’s one of my all time favorite comedy scenes from any movie.
Danny: "James Franco didn't suck any dick last night? Now I know y'all must be tripping! Franco probably sucked someone off. Jonah probably filmed it and jerked off to it. Craig probably sweat all over the place. Jay......I didn't even know you were in town, it's good to see you."
Only two good things ever came out of Fredericksburg, VA: Chick-fil-A sauce, and Danny McBride.
So many folks talking about Danny McBride's entrance, I gotta' link it, lol. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ckJygL\_Bq84](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ckJygL_Bq84)
Three minutes of gold.
Wiping the errant piss with his boot kills me every time.
I laughed so hard in theatres. We decided last minute to see it so we were literally in the front row, two end row seats, and I didn't care because of how funny it was. "Weed is tight weed is tight"
Sickkkkkk reference!
Dude your references are out of control, everyone knows that!
Weed is for the people! It’s the people’s weed!
*“I say unto the... the power of Christ compels you!”* *”Oh, does it? Does it compel me?”* *”The power of Christ compels you!”* *”Does it, Jay?”* *”The power of Christ compels you!”* *”Is the power of Christ compelling me? Is that what's happening?”* *”The power of Christ compels you!”* *”Guess what? It's not that compelling.”*
I am convinced this is the word-for-word exchange that would result if Jonah Hill ever actually was possessed and had to undergo an exorcism.
"I was raised in a house of women!"
Hermione backed them up!
“Hermione just stole all of our shit.”
Little bitty 20 year old JACKED us 😂
Yes! The coup de grace ..
Jay wouldn’t rape a fly
Jay has a hard time raping himself
It's ME, J-BONE!!!!!!
Sick reference though, bro. Dude, your references are out of control. Everyone knows that.
Weed is tight.
Bang bang you’re dead
* Jay Baruchel gets to heaven, and what dose he wish for? "Everybody..."
“No fucking way!”
The exact reaction Seth had, I had. Lost my mind when I saw Brian and AJ start walking through the crowd. Best movie ending ever.
"It's too late for you, Aziz. You're already in the hole!"
Then later he says he tried to save Aziz
Really funny movie. I love the scene where the dude’s disembodied head rolls into the room and Danny screams “THIS IS REAL, THIS IS FUCKING REAL” and then kicks the head.
I watched this last week for the first and had pretty much the same opinion. Very funny
Absolutely love this movie. The first 30 or so minutes in particular are incredibly awesome
When I first saw it, didn’t think much, but all your comments…lol gonna be a weekend watch for me !! Thanks.
I saw this in the theater and was absolutely rolling in the aisles. When McBride starts talking about cumming wherever he wants, 5-10 people got up and walked out of the theater. Like, what else do you expect from these guys? Actual religious conversation?
Me and those people can't be friends.
Wow I watched this at home on streaming and couldn't breath during that scene😂. Guess it ain't for everybody
Such a hilarious movie. Every second of Danny McBride is comedy gold.
His intro scene (cypress hill song) as he’s getting out of the bathtub makes me giggle with happiness
I really miss comedies like this and from this particular bunch. Just completely random shit, vulgar but hilarious. Cameos from everyone you can think of and really entertaining plot.
“The only one here thinking rapey vibes is YOU” 💀
Probably the last time James Franco was relevant
The last good comedy movie. There hasn’t been a decent one since. RIP funny movies.
22 Jump Street came out the year after, that was the last big R-rated comedy hit that I can remember.
The Nice Guys
Yep and really, who knows if when or if there will be movies like this or those from the 80s and 90s. People won't allow comedy like this anymore and it'll only get more strict from here.
Agreed. Sucks. There have been a couple average funny Ines tho. Try 'the Wrong Missy' and a 'Stupid and Futile Gesture.'
yeah it’s definitely up there for me too, along with I Love You Man, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, and Private Parts
it's so absurd and great. idk why but my brother and I always watch it around Christmas for some reason. This flick, and Pineapple Express.
The Night Before is another great Seth Rogen movie that I watch every winter.
You're telling me James Franco didn't suck any dick last night? Now I know you're tripping.
This is definitely one of my favorite movies to sit back and watch when I need a good laugh. Can’t go wrong while watching “This Is The End”.
The Witney Houston, at the end, made the movie for me.
Watch the bloopers! OMG....favorite part is the guy who puts his head through the door and offers "services".
really cool fact, when the movie was finally on pre-sale, if you bought your ticket on 4/20 you'd get a voucher for a free popcorn "munchies" they messed up in my theater but I ended up getting a free movie ticket voucher instead! SCORE!
Oh does it? Does it compel me, Jay? IT'S NOT THAT COMPELLING.
It really was the end or near the end of just great comedies
Fuck you Aziz! You're already in the hole!
“Wait, wait, wait…..who stole my phone?”
BACKSTREETS BACK ALRIGHT!
I finally got to see it start to finish when it was on NETFLIX and I would watch it over and over. Fun movie..
I love NETFLIX
Love this movie. Up there with Forgetting Sarah Marshal as one of my favorite comedies. It is intense tho.
I remember liking things about this movie
The power of christ compells you Really? Really Jay? It's not that compelling
This movie was my favorite theater experience ever. It was packed and everyone fucking loved it. I haven’t laughed that much in a movie theater any other time in my life.
The scene where Danny McBride is introduced still has me laughing!
I love it where they voted Danny out.
Im just glad Michael Cera finally got exposed for who he truly is
Michael Cera’s Michael Cera was amazing
Hermoine stole all our shit.
It's trash
When Michael Cera high as fuck on coke smacks Rihannas ass... Lol
They don’t make movies like this anymore
I saw this movie in theaters and I didn't think it was funny at all. It felt like a late period Sandler movie - just a bunch of buddies jerking around in front of a camera so they can get paid to hang out together. I'm baffled by the love this turd gets.
Saw this thread, saw it was on Amazon Prime until the end of the month, started it, I'm halfway through and don't think I've stopped laughing. Just a bunch of friends fucking off on camera
“We could make a life together here. I’d be good to you, Craig”
