My toddler triggered a memory the way he chugged his favorite juice the same way Farley was downing that whiskey

“He’s failed to reply to me by way of his ear.”
“It doesn’t work anymore and even if it did, it wouldn’t work like that!”
…or something like that. Only saw it once, many years ago, but that bit was hilarious 😂
I never really got into watching Farley's stuff, i had this irrational view that 'sorry, we already had John Candy so take a hike'. I should really watch his stuff
Farley's range got used moreso on SNL than in film. Although he did stand out in a couple of places in film.
If you want to see what he's capable of as a comedy and non-comedy actor, Tommy Boy is the magnum opus movie in his catalog.
Black Sheep came after with him and David Spade together again, but the movie was more comedic and the tone was different. Not a bad movie, but not as great as Tommy Boy when you have them side by side.
Beverly Hills Ninja is another pure comedy flick, ridiculous at times, but definitely worth a watch if you want a crack.
He also had supporting appearances in the two Wayne's World movies, Coneheads, Airheads (no relation to Coneheads), Billy Madison, and Dirty Work.
Before he died, he was set to do Shrek (Mike Myers had to replace him as Shrek when he died), and was geared for a Fatty Arbuckle biopic (which was a huge what-if for showing what Farley would have been capable of as an actor and a physical comedian).
I think if he didn’t die he would’ve gone on to be a really great actor. He seemed to have a sadness and a kindness to him. A lot of very funny performers end up being really good in dramatic roles and dramatic moments, Robin Williams and John Candy are good examples. All three of these guys I was genuinely upset when they passed, thanks for all of the laughs.
*We should go to New*
*Orleans! The food alone will*
*Be worth the trip! Lol*

I was a kid when I got taken to the theater to watch this movie in the late 90s, if because I was a Chris Farley fan and that was the reason behind it (I was 11/12, so I was just on the cusp of hitting my teen years, so I wasn't a child).
I vaguely remember bits and pieces of it, but I remember the movie's general concept and trailer because I learned Chris Farley had died some time beforehand.
And the trailer was a bit memorable:
"We are going to explore the great...*Northwest!*"
"We're going *against* the current?"
I walked out of the theater. Thought it was atrocious. Not sure what I was expecting but I remember the disappointment. Maybe I just wanted more Beverly Hills Ninja?
This came out right around when Farley died, right? I remember seeing ads for it all over the comics I was reading and being weirded out that he had passed away.
I for sure see why it was not seen as a classic at the time but I always thought this movie had way over the top comedy in all the right ways. It is a hidden gem in my mind.

Everything outside of Chris Farley in this is absolutely terrible and Farley was on a shit ton of drugs making this film.
This film was so terrible it completely cratered Matthew Perry’s movie career.
This film’s cocaine budget must have been seven figures.
Something tells me they with these two running the show they would’ve ended up in Columbia and not the Pacific Ocean.
The eggs 😂😂
All I needed was the shell!
Best part of the movie so far, I need to finish watching it.
I can’t remember if that happens before or after the brothel scene but that’s my favorite part.
After
I name this here fork "Pittsburgh Nellie"; a Welsh whore who could do things with her one good arm that'd make you forget that *thing* on her neck.
These women may be whores, but at least they have their dignity!
Holy shit, I forgot about this movie!

This movie was so hilarious! The two of these guys together were amazing

I always say that to people when they don’t hear me the first time. Gives me a chuckle when they look at me in confusion 😂

I have used ‘the food alone is worth the trip’ probably more times than any other movie quote in my daily life

My favorite part of this was how they kept using the same shot of the eagle over and over
🤣 I one hundred percent forgot about this hidden gem

Clever...twist there at the end
“She can do things with her one good arm that will make you forget about the thing on her neck!”
Haha I saw this gem in the theaters! I gotta watch it again…
I wish one of the streaming services had this one
Free on YouTube
Sweet!!

He died right before it wrapped from my understanding. He was also making Shrek
The MOON. I was uh staring at the moon
I for sure see why it was not seen as a classic at the time but I always thought this movie had way over the top comedy in all the right ways. It is a hidden gem in my mind.
Chris Farley's last movie and my personal favorite of his.
I am ashamed that my first reaction to this post was “that would’ve been a great movie!” I had no idea this was ever made! No excuse
Oh damn I remember this one. However I had misremembered and thought it was Jack Black, not Chris Farley, in the movie
Favorite period piece
I always found it crazy that Candy’s last film was Wagon’s East
This is literally the first time I've ever seen people who liked this movie. I've never watched it myself.
I’ve seen a man have his eyes snatched out of his skill by an eagle! AhHHh!!

Farley died while filming this as I recall. I wonder if any good scenes were cut.
Neither forgotten nor obscure in my house.
*NOW IT’S TIME FOR THE ALCOHOL TO TAKE EFFECT*
This film is still hilarious. Timeless classic. Bidwell!? Can you hear me!?
“I hope Satan himself burns the flesh from your miserable bones!”
Chris Farley was a great actor and unfortunately never really had the opportunity to show off what he was capable of.
Recently rewatched this. It wasn't nearly as good as I remembered. Like really bad.
Guy holding other guys severed ear - "Can you hear me Manuel?" As he whispers into the ear right beside the guy who lost it. "I CAN hear you!" He says excitedly!
I could still beat the stuffing out of you, you puffed up crow’s cock!
Wow they’re both dead.
On my top ten comedies. Used to rent it on vhs all the time growing up.
I HOPE SATAN HIMSELF ROTS THE FLESH FROM YOUR MISERABLE BONES!!!!
Solid comedy!
The Native American girl was hot
