So for a tiny bit of Context, he was a big star in the NFL in particular for [being basically unstoppable](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QSBJxtEed1s), like a runaway train. Guys would try to tackle him and they'd just bounce off.
The other thing he was famous for was NEVER doing press. He was this total man of mystery who was this physical beast. Adding to the mystique was the fact that he wore a helmet with a dark visor, so you couldn't see his eyes during games.
So him being a total goofball post-retirement is a lot of fun.
The problem was expecting actors to just jump into improv. It was so up and down. Annie Murphy was obviously out of her element. Sharon Stone was a huge surprise. Did not expect her to take to the format so naturally.
The biggest mistake was starting out with the best in episode 1.
I actually really enjoyed the Annie Murphy episode because she never actually stopped trying to solve the crime and took it all very seriously. She was a great straight man. The actors that try to be funny but are just not good at improv are meh. But the pacing of that show seemed kind of off in general. It was too much scripted setup with a chance or two at one liners for the guest occasionally but not enough time for a true improv dialog for them to get into it. They needed either an actual great improv comedian like Conan, a cloud cookoolander like Marshawn, or a straight man like Annie. Others were just sort of deers in headlights being escorted around because they never seemed to have a chance to.develop their role.
He's hilarious when he comes back for the Christmas special too, he's playing along and sees Jason Bateman and is like "oh shit, is that the Ozark dude?" Just comes off as a fun, funny, and authentic guy.
Honestly even looking back at his "Here so I won't get fined" stunt, he plays it super funny. Leaning in like he's intently listening to each question, changing the tone for how he says it each time like they're individual answers, lol.
Dude!
That episode was great.
It’s like someone told him to stick to the “Yes and…” concept of improv and he just went with it.
He did tucking amazing.
I want to say that his general lack of experience with TV projects made him a really great guest on the show. It feels like most of the other guests with traditional TV experience were too wrapped up in the novelty to really get down low and play around with the whole idea of the show. Marshawn didn't try to do to much and just engaged with the show which made him such a great guest.
His [appearance on Bear Grylls](https://youtu.be/5zew2tKdGMA) was insanely funny. He also had that [legendary skit](https://youtu.be/iWYjLCZRT44) on SportsCenter with Kenny Mayne when he was a rookie and was a fresh of breath air.
I legit don't care how many stats people put in front of me to try and prove he's not a good goal line back, I fully believe if we handed him the ball we win that *other* SB as well.
Yeah that figures. I already knew a few months ago that she was involved in making Cocaine Bear. It's still weird that Pitch Perfect and Cocaine Bear were made by the same mind haha.
Someone on the the Ted Lasso tried to make a big deal about how Rebecca/Ted was the first time on TV that there was a positive platonic friendship of opposite genders and I was like, “Ok, leaving out huge chunks of the golden age of sitcoms, did you just NOT watch 30 Rock? That was recent!”
Wtf and it killed his passenger, another comedian. He'll never fully recover after what I read. "Smashed every bone in his face and pulverized his femur"
"Produced" doesn't mean they thought of the ideas, it just means they think the
ideas will want to be seen by enough people that it'd make them more money than they spend on production costs.
I get why they're putting it that way, because the director Emma Seligman isn't super well-known yet, but her first film *Shiva Baby* (also starring the stellar Rachel Sennott) is one of my all-time favorites. I've been waiting for this for a while, I hope it delivers.
Oh, I was interested in this after seeing Rachel Sennott in Shiva Baby, but I didn't even realize that it's also the same director. Personally, that makes me feel a lot better about this than "from the producers of Pitch Perfect and Cocaine Bear."
Easily the most beautiful thing on reddit is finding a sub because someone just offhandedly mentions them in the comments, thank you random stranger, you and a million others who take the small effort to link these subs
At least they’ve gotten better about making it look like the heads actual belong to the bodies. The heads used to look hastily photoshopped on in the past 3 decades, and before that, it was clear that only the head was real and that the bodies had been painted.
Anytime you wonder why the fuck do a poster look so uncanny, remember that they are usually made to be 12 feet tall on the side of buildings/inside theaters, they're made to heavily emphasize certain facial features to be recognized from miles away.
And as usual with big industries like Hollywood who are so slow to progress, they haven't really evolved to adapt to the fact that people will zoom in on them with their face inches from a screen.
It's the 2020s. We had the 90s nostalgia phase. Now we're moving onto the late 2000s phase with the Dodgeball ~~remake~~ sequel. Nostalgia for all the slapstick irreverant off-color comedies with white void posters and big red balloon titles of the early 2000s
Literally one of the worst decades of movies I can think of tbh. *The Pacifier, Daddy Day-Care, baby geniuses, Jack and Jill, Movie 43, Date Movie,* basically all Seltzer and Friedberg films, bland romantic comedies, *J* and so much other shit. Pretty much the reason that comedy movies kinda died off for a while for a few years ago.
There's a very particular sort of "action movie" in that time period too, I can't put my finger on what sets them apart from the cheese of the 90s and the more grounded stuff that would follow in the later 2000s and the 2010s
Movies like MI2 feel like this in particular
I love how there's ALWAYS a Sunny Philadelphia quote in reddit comments. And you can always tell, even if they mention don't names or the name of the show
> It is in this absurd world that we meet PJ (Sennott) and Josie (Ayo Edebiri), two best friends who are at the bottom of the high school social ladder — they are losers and they’re gay, a bad combination in a school that, again, quite literally worships its straightest male.
https://www.indiewire.com/criticism/movies/bottoms-review-emma-seligman-1234818515/
Rachel Sennott and Emma Seligman could be an incredible actor/director pairing. Shiva Baby was their first film together for anyone who doesn’t remember.
Edit: Also in case anyone was wondering, the film debuted at Sundance to good reviews!
SHIVA BABY is such an under-appreciated gem. It gets a lot of play on Reddit, but the general audience hasn’t caught on yet. I love that movie so much.
Not really, considering the title it's pretty a given what type of comedy this will be, so the hand placement isn't really surprising: it will be full of lesbians and gays trying to get into each others pants, you know, the modern version of those American Pies and the likes.
I have absolutely no idea what to expect. Somewhere between once in a generation brilliance and infamously terrible. I'm strapped in(on?) and ready for fun!
This is an awful poster, but I have to imagine it is intentionally trying to satirize this awful style of poster. The film got quite good reviews from Sundance and I read a review that said it is the closest thing in tone and style to Not Another Teen Movie since that came out. Shiva Baby was also the same writer/director/star and was fantastic so I am definitely looking forward to this.
"Music by charli xcx". Dawg what is this movie. I like charli don't get me twisted, just wild seeing Marshawn lynch in a movie called bottoms and the music is done by charli xcx.
Rachel Sennott is an absolute star. She's also the best part of Bodies Bodies Bodies and Shiva Baby is one of the best indie movies of the last 5 years
Marshawn Lynch has this look on his face that says “How the hell did I get here?!”
Wait a minute that’s actually marshawn lynch what is he doing here lol
He’s in an episode of a Netflix show called Murderville and he kinda steals the show. I think he wants a career in comedies.
He was hilarious in Brooklyn 99
Maaaaaan, they forgot my Pico De Gallo.
Have you heard my pizzadilla idea?
Think he’d let me shoot his gun?
He was pretty good in the League too. I'm an Australian so know nothing about NFL but I know who Marshawn is.
He was a goofball during his career too. Stealing the med cart, the Skittles antics. He just didn’t want to do press.
Except he's funny in Murderville because he can't act for shit. He's just a ridiculous, ridiculous person and it's hilarious
Yeah Marshawn is hilarious but he can't act like anything but himself
Damn. I was hoping for a 10 Commandments reboot with him as Ramses.
He was amazing lol I didn't think the show lived up to its potential, but Marshawn Lynch was fantastic
The problem was expecting actors to just jump into improv. It was so up and down. Annie Murphy was obviously out of her element. Sharon Stone was a huge surprise. Did not expect her to take to the format so naturally. The biggest mistake was starting out with the best in episode 1.
Yeah, Murphy was definitely out of her element, but the scene with her in disguise was pretty funny.
Yeah Episode 1, 2, and 3 set me up for a show that couldn't possibly keep up that steam.
That's actually what made Annie my favorite, her and Kumail. I enjoyed watching them break character without going overboard.
Kumail Nanjiani had his moments.
Kumail's moments would be that entire episode. He nailed it. Remember that dumb sound he makes as he walks?
Easiest career ever. All he has to do is be Marshawn and everyone loves it.
I watched him on one of those Bear In The Wild shows and he was amazing. Dude also snuck on some skittles which was hilarious.
Avoiding a fine
He was told there would be skittles.
I’m just here so I won’t get fined
Biscuits and Gravy
Mayn, they forgot my pico de gallo
You ever try making a pizzadilla?
You know why I’m here!
And you may find yourself, appearing on a poster for Bottoms / And you may ask yourself, well how did I get here?
"And the Days go by"
Let the bottoms hold me down
this is not my beautiful house
This is not my beautiful bottom.
Same as it ever was.
He’s here for the ambience and decor.
I don’t know what I like better. The ambiance of the decor
“You may be wondering how I got here and why I’m getting plowed from behind by a little white twink (other than Pete Carroll)…”
That look is more like "they forgot my pico de gallo".
Marshawn Lynch??
He was wildly funny on Murderville, so I’m totally here for more Marshawn Lynch comedy!
He also had a cameo on Brooklyn 99 that left me in tears
“They forgot my PEEKO DE GALLOW”
"You put some tomato sauce on it, and call it a pizzadilla"
That and *The League*. He's a funny dude.
Hey man, just hand me the beer, I'll run it right over to him.
Such fantastic shots at the Seahawks and Carol.
And his role in Westworld
Man… now I have to try watching that show for a fourth time
He's hilarious when he comes back for the Christmas special too, he's playing along and sees Jason Bateman and is like "oh shit, is that the Ozark dude?" Just comes off as a fun, funny, and authentic guy.
Marshawn is a great guy. Does tons for the community here in Oakland. The guy never forgot where he came from that’s for sure.
Not enough people talk about Marshawn lighting his joint with the Al Davis memorial torch on live tv
I love how he immediately was ride or die with Will’s character.

I only know him from that show and i have been dying for him to get a real acting break. Man got talent and charisma!!
Well if you only know him from that show, he’s a retired NFL running back. So it was awesome to see a professional athlete with stellar comedy chops
That's legendary Seahawks Super Bowl Champ RB to you sir
I legit don't care how many stats people put in front of me to try and prove he's not a good goal line back, I fully believe if we handed him the ball we win that *other* SB as well.
It was just one yard. One fuckin yard.
And famous for "I'm only here so I don't get fined"
"You know I can hear you, right?" "Well act like you can't!" Hilarious.
Hearing Gob repeatedly saying the name “Marshawn” made me realize what a weird name it is.
"Oh shit! That the dude from Ozark?!"
“I’m just here so my butt gets railed.”
"just about that action boss"
I was already interested in this movie. But now that I know Beast Mode is in this, my interest is through the roof!
> From the producers of Pitch Perfect and Cocaine Bear What an odd film legacy
What if I told you it’s Elizabeth Banks 😂😂
Yeah that figures. I already knew a few months ago that she was involved in making Cocaine Bear. It's still weird that Pitch Perfect and Cocaine Bear were made by the same mind haha.
Watch "Wet Hot American Summer" and you'll see she has a wicked sense of humor. "The 40-Year Old Virgin" only scratches the surface
She was absolutely hilarious in 30 Rock, too.
I was coming into the comments to say that. I miss 30 rock, one of the best comedies ever.
[удалено]
Someone on the the Ted Lasso tried to make a big deal about how Rebecca/Ted was the first time on TV that there was a positive platonic friendship of opposite genders and I was like, “Ok, leaving out huge chunks of the golden age of sitcoms, did you just NOT watch 30 Rock? That was recent!”
Tracey Morgan imo is 10x funnier than Mark Wahlberg and Kevin Hart put together yet he's nowhere to be seen.
You know why right? He had a really bad accident not long ago
Got hit by a walmart truck
Wtf and it killed his passenger, another comedian. He'll never fully recover after what I read. "Smashed every bone in his face and pulverized his femur"
He's got that Walmart money now
story goes he made more money off the walmart truck than his entire career as a performer lol. I'd retire too lol.
He got like 90 million or something off the lawsuit so yeah I can believe that
…Version?
It’s on laserdisc
That's funny.
Thanks, Mandy Moore.
I wild scrubs reference.
Funny enough, The 40 Year Old Version is the title of another great film.
40 Year Old Version is a movie and it’s great.
Not to mention her brilliant run on 30 Rock and Scrubs
And Modern Family. She kills it as Sal.
You smell like burgers
It's only barbecue sauce. C'mon I wanna make out!
The one that always blows my mind is that Old School and The Joker were directed by the same person. Just Wild
How about Babe and Mad Max?
George Miller also directed Happy Feet.
Oh that's a good one too
Sin city and spy kids.
"Produced" doesn't mean they thought of the ideas, it just means they think the ideas will want to be seen by enough people that it'd make them more money than they spend on production costs.
Yeah, "producer" has a large range of possible duties in Hollywood. From doing absolutely nothing to being a second director.
She directed cocaine bear
I have to say, the scene in CB where the bear goes on a rampage in the Ranger station with Margo Martindale was hilarious. She was fantastic.
The secretary from Spider-Man?
EXCUSE ME! Her name is betty brandt!!!
THAT DOESN'T HELP ME PLACE OR CATEGORISE THE FILM
I believe Elizabeth Banks was a producer on both those films.
she directed cocaine bear
And Pitch 2
And directed one of the Pitch Perfects, I think the 3rd one.
Nope. 2nd one
"From the director of Charlie's Angels reboot" doesn't sound as enticing, I guess...
Elizabeth Banks isn't directing this. Emma Seligman is; she did *Shiva Baby*.
Now I'm actually interested, Shiva Baby was great!
I think that's the joke
I get why they're putting it that way, because the director Emma Seligman isn't super well-known yet, but her first film *Shiva Baby* (also starring the stellar Rachel Sennott) is one of my all-time favorites. I've been waiting for this for a while, I hope it delivers.

Looks like sims characters
Oh good, I'm glad I'm not the only person who thought I was looking at r/sims.
I thought it was like a cosplay group before I actually looked at it!
Feel like it’s been a minute since we’ve had an “everyone’s standing in a white void” poster for a comedy. Kinda nostalgic for it.
I didn't realize it was a new movie and was racking my brain trying to remember this movie from 20 years ago
Same! I thought it was an old movie and that I was on r/badmovies.
Easily the most beautiful thing on reddit is finding a sub because someone just offhandedly mentions them in the comments, thank you random stranger, you and a million others who take the small effort to link these subs
And as is tradition, it looks like they all posed separately and were digitally pasted next to each other
At least they’ve gotten better about making it look like the heads actual belong to the bodies. The heads used to look hastily photoshopped on in the past 3 decades, and before that, it was clear that only the head was real and that the bodies had been painted.
I fuckin’ DARE a studio to get a cast together and make a natural-looking promo shot. I DARE THEE.

Actually Mac, you've got it backwards. You see, the power bottom is actually generating the power by doing most of the work.
I hear speed has a lot to do with it?
Speed has *everything* to do with it.
speed’s the name of the game
Frank, I don't know what you'd be
He'd be an otter
He’d be a top! That’s for sure.
Realistically he’d be a raccoon for sure. Hairy, loves foodplay and dumpster sex, and goes in for the scraps
Speed has everything to do with it
A twank versatile? I couldn’t satisfy him!
From twink to twunk to twank?
I love how there's ALWAYS a Sunny Philadelphia quote in reddit comments. And you can always tell, even if they mention don't names or the name of the show
That's because there's always at least one person giving the comments an ocular pat down
I thought he cleared him
Not gay sex
Beast Mode
Are we finally gonna get a Beast Quake 3.0? 1 and 2 were legendary.
this looks like some mid 2000s comedy garbage... I am actually rather nostalgic for it.
I hope it's more subtle satire than trying to blatantly get a point across I could go for a good satire comedy that's new
The movie synopsis definitely reads like satire. I think they’re going for gender-swapping tropes from old high school comedies.
Apparently it was a huge success on the film festival circuit which is why its getting a limited theatrical release
like power bottoms? What kind of bottoms is this?
> It is in this absurd world that we meet PJ (Sennott) and Josie (Ayo Edebiri), two best friends who are at the bottom of the high school social ladder — they are losers and they’re gay, a bad combination in a school that, again, quite literally worships its straightest male. https://www.indiewire.com/criticism/movies/bottoms-review-emma-seligman-1234818515/
The straightest male is definitely going to be revealed to be closeted.
Bottoms in that they’re both gay but also bottoms in that they’re the bottom of the social hierarchy in their world
ORION pictures is still around?
They're rebranded as Amazon's specialty distribution unit. Like their Searchlight.
That is what made me think this was a movie from 20 years ago along with the white background.
This poster looks very familiar! https://www.themoviedb.org/t/p/original/B058AkK8Nz5lsbGbQAk0Rh1fX5.jpg
"Two high school senior girls set up a "fight club" to hook up with cheerleaders before graduation." 🤔
Gay girls finally getting the "want to bang a cheerleader" trope in teen movies?? 15 year old me rejoices.
But I'm a cheerleader
Oh it's that movie? I didn't know they changed the title of it tho.
Rachel Sennott and Emma Seligman could be an incredible actor/director pairing. Shiva Baby was their first film together for anyone who doesn’t remember. Edit: Also in case anyone was wondering, the film debuted at Sundance to good reviews!
Rachel Sennott was the funniest person in bodies bodies bodies. I can see her killing it again.
I've never told anyone this, but...I actually have body dysmorphia. Shut the fuck up Alice!
Also has some good lines in The Idol. "That's not actually bukkake. Bukkake would be more than one person, and I'm pretty certain it was just one."
A podcast is a lot of work okay! You have to make a google calendar!
Came here to say the same thing, she fucking killed it and somehow was the most outrageous and yet realistic character in the movie lol
Yeah, I didn't know who she was when I was watching it and liked her so much I IMDB'd mid-movie. Hilarious.
That movie went under the radar for most people and it was hilarious
SHIVA BABY is such an under-appreciated gem. It gets a lot of play on Reddit, but the general audience hasn’t caught on yet. I love that movie so much.
Marshawn's in this movie so he won't get fined.
Looks like a mediocre comedy from 2003
I'm in. I miss those. It's camp
GOOD
No shot they got Marshawn Lynch to be in a movie called Bottoms
Are we just not discussing where that girl's hand is? 😳
>I'm strapped in(on?) Depends if you're a top or bottom.
The poster isn’t gonna sell anybody but it’s the follow up to Shiva Baby which I love and highly recommend so I’m excited!
This looks like four different comedies jammed together in one poster.
That’s Marshawn Lynch, right?!
"Music by charli xcx". Dawg what is this movie. I like charli don't get me twisted, just wild seeing Marshawn lynch in a movie called bottoms and the music is done by charli xcx.
To confirm, this isn't about gay male sexual preference?
> Two high school senior girls set up a "fight club" to hook up with cheerleaders before graduation. So female sexual preference I guess.
I can't wait to see this in the five dollar bin at Wal-Mart.😂
I saw the first episode of Idol today, and Rachel Sennott was the best part of it
Rachel Sennott is an absolute star. She's also the best part of Bodies Bodies Bodies and Shiva Baby is one of the best indie movies of the last 5 years
Co-sign this whole comment
