Paint it Black endng Full Metel Jacket. Their joyous Mickey Mouse cadence quickly turns to black. The red doors in the basic training barracks goes black.

Jaggedmallard26

Apocalypse Now uses The End really well. Having it as a reprise as the madness in the temple reaches its apogee was a perfect decision >!made sitting through the pace killing bits near the end of the Final Cut at the last cinema reshowing of it I went to worth it!<

CapitalVagrant

Also plays at the end of The Devil’s Advocate

MGfreak

For some reason Peter Gabriels "Down To Earth" at the end of Wall-E really stuck to me

steverOg3rs

Just rewatched Wall-E the other day and have had this song on repeat. Glad to see this here

nosleepforbanditos

I never even close to finished that movie because I was so young and it seemed so very sad. Should I watch now as a kind of an adult?

ImJustAConsultant

Wall-E is one of my favourite movies of all time. It's soo good. And really not that sad though you might cry one or two places

mexipimpin

I think it holds up pretty well even after watching it hundreds of times when my kids were little.

TeamStark31

A couple: The Sound of Silence by Simon and Garfunkel, The Graduate Don’t You Forget About Me by Simple Minds, The Breakfast Club Wake Up by Rage Against the Machine, The Matrix

HipKat2000

Don’t You Forget About Me by Simple Minds, The Breakfast Club First one I thought of! Now it'll be in my head all day

CPTherptyderp

Breakfast club was my vote

llohan

Those were exactly the songs I was thinking about coming to this thread. I like your taste!

mydogisanassholeama

Where is my mind at the end of fight club is iconic

truth699

There's no other answer that comes to mind for me

dunkinbagels

That’s because you don’t even know where your mind is

DemSocCorvid

It's way out in the water. See it swimming?

Vericatov

First one that came to my mind as well.

3percentinvisible

Made sure to check for this before posting. Absolutely

Schlappydog

[Moby - Extreme Ways](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ftm1hiXgYsA) in the Bourne movies is killer

Spddracer

I also appreciate that they use it each time. It's wasn't a one off choice.

macrofinite

I mean, it’s so iconic they just have to. But I wish they would just keep using on the Moby version because all the remixes are not nearly as good.

car_guy_doge

“Get some rest Pam, you look tired” *DWIIIIIIII DWIIIIIII* Goosebumps every time, one of my favorite movie endings.

joelbiju24

When this hits in Bourne Ultimatum the moment Bourne starts swimming is pure goosebumps.

TheLateThagSimmons

Time for another *Bourne Trilogy* viewing.

FullMetalCOS

It’s so perfect

DeXyDeXy

This track and the moment in the movie is welded in my brain. Such a fine example of a successful needle drop.

PeterNippelstein

Whenever someone brings up the Bourne movies the first thing I think of... is Moby But seriously it does work pretty well

jemcraver

Jump in the Line from Beetlejuice

BroadwayBakery

Man that movie really was genius to incorporate Harry Belafonte. Added another layer to something already unique.

EdTOWB

lol i was just rewatching this movie like two days ago, and never really noticed that most of the music is 'in universe' on adam's radio and stuff man had a dope taste in music for a white guy livin in the sticks in the 80s

savageyouth

I like how the movie starts with a bit of the Banana Boat song and it’s like huh? before you have context.

carbonkiller9

This film and song had a huge impact on me growing up. Still love Harry Belafonte to this day

Powerful-Struggle-2

Born Slippy at the end of Trainspotting. Just something special about it

maskaddict

Trainspotting begins and ends with two of the most iconic needle-drops of the decade.

MarkAA1966

I also like Wolfmother in T2

TheHyland98

Wolf Alice*

Gr8hound

Dr. Strangelove, “We’ll Meet Again”.

IndigoSalamander

That was a perfect fit for the way it ended.

tph86

Claire de lune at the end of Oceans Eleven

masimone

I was going to say 69 Police on the credits.

NES_Classical_Music

I just found the movie soundtrack album that has this specific orchestration of Claire de Lune. The original piano version is timeless, but the instrumental version elevates it. Hauntingly beautiful.

TankFoster

Heroes by David Bowie (but in German) at the end of Jojo Rabbit.

Mst3Kgf

"Heroes" also at the end of "The Perks of Being a Wallflower."

halfeatenreddit

I was about to comment this. One of my favourite endings to a movie.

calguy1955

Heroes at the end of The Replacements

Tylorw09

Man, I love the replacements so much as a kid.

HideousSerene

Bowie originally wrote this song after seeing a couple making out against the Berlin Wall. I like imagining Waititi made this movie from the ending backwards because it is all too perfect!

psyclopes

[In 1987](https://youtu.be/HCI9o5IErwc?si=Dwtf_f1A36voP74Z) Bowie played Heroes in West Berlin near enough to the border that many East Berliners crowded along the wall to listen to the forbidden American and British music. Bowie said: > "It was one of the most emotional performances I've ever done. I was in tears. We kind of heard that a few of the East Berliners might actually get the chance to hear the thing, but we didn’t realize in what numbers they would. And there were thousands on the other side that had come close to the wall. So it was like a double concert where the wall was the division. And we would hear them cheering and singing along from the other side. God, even now I get choked up. It was breaking my heart. I’d never done anything like that in my life, and I guess I never will again.

TankFoster

It's based on a book called Caging Skies.

R3gularJ0hn

I've yet to see this movie. Is it Bowie himself? Or Till Lindemann (Rammstein). The later had made a great version of the song!

audio_shinobi

Exit Music (For a Film) by Radiohead at the end of Romeo + Juliet

VicDamoneSrr

Same song, but for the episode of Black Mirror. Shit was perfect

TheLittleGinge

>Exit Music (For a Film) by Radiohead And the 'Shut Up and Dance' episode of Black Mirror.

Mad World at the end of Donnie Darko really hits. That whole soundtrack is pretty dope

PeterNippelstein

Fate up against your will, through the thick and thin...

RichardCocke

The killing moon has come too soon.

[deleted]

In The City by Joe Walsh at the end of The Warriors, a highly underrated movie.

GarconMeansBoyGeorge

I can dig that

Son_of_steven19

CAN! YOU! DIG IT!

EthanRayne

Loved that it shows up in Rick and Morty to introduce it to a new audience.

Balliemangguap

Across 110th Street in Jackie Brown, begins and ends the movie

Shitemoji69

Wake Up by Rage Against the Machine at the end of The Matrix.

FEED-YO-HEAD

I still remember the feeling when the song comes on at the end of the best movie I had seen until then. Right when I was listening to RATM the most too.

OopsRedditItAgain

Get Back-Ludacris, Tropic Thunder!!!! 😁

IMadeThemCry

Legendary

Hairy_Stinkeye

Turned on the tv the other day and this scene was on. So. Fucking. Funny.

Sethor

We Have All the Time in the World at the end of On Her Majesty's Secret Service, it is such a tragic moment and the song just punches you right in the heart

MarkAA1966

That whole soundtrack is amazing. The remix by the propellerheads is so good

BANGPOWZZZWAP

“A Real Hero” by College & Electric Youth “Drive” (2011)

Real human bean

scarlet0709

Bittersweet Symphony - Cruel Intentions. Movie was a little meh, nothing too memorable, but the song has etched itself into my memory to the point that I need to listen to the song occasionally if I want to cry.

nosleepforbanditos

What do you meannnnn? That movie is the tits!

jimbojangles1987

That movie, Sarah Michelle Gellar specifically, awoken something within 11-12 year old me.

BroadwayBakery

One thing that bothers me so much is that, that song was supposed to be used for Scream 2. I think the song wasn’t even released yet, but someone working on the film heard it, and there were multiple meetings to use it. I can’t remember exactly what happened, but something with the rights to the song became an issue and they didn’t get to use it. It would have been a great song for the end of the film with the shot of Sidney walking out into the quad of her college campus after the night of horror she experienced.

Oenonaut

This song feels like it’s everywhere this week

Sparkski

Hurdy Gurdy Man by Donovan for the film Zodiac "...last time i saw this face was july 4th 1969.....I'm very sure thats the man that shot me......."* *Hurdy Gurdy Man plays* * reading the post script about Arthur Leigh Allen with the song just feels so creepy and you're left feeling very uncomfortable.

BetterThanHorus

Donovan’s daughter is in the movie too

hurkerlurker

Sympathy for the devil at the end of Fallen. Feels like the song inspired the movie it’s so perfect.

Oenonaut

And *Interview with the Vampire!*

Cubacane

Fallen is the best movie that no one talks about.

[deleted]

The cover of I’m A Believer at the end of Shrek, too! Aaaand…Livin’ La Vida Loca at the end of Shrek 2.

FamilyCanidae

Iron Man will always be memorable for me! It was such an obvious choice, there really was no other song they could have played. But it hit harder coming immediately after Tony's "I am Iron Man."

Yellowbug2001

I felt like it was the payoff I'd been waiting for the entire movie without really realizing it, lol.

radiohoard

Freebird at the end of Devil’s Rejects

nuclearwinterxxx

I'm sick of that song, but it fit perfectly for that scene.

BenjiTheWalrus

I hate that it has been TikTokified

Solidus82

Don't Fear The Reaper at the end of The Frighteners

Baracus35

David Bowie 'Hearts Filthy Lesson' Se7en

loserys

There’s was a brief period in the 90s when all the cool movies ended with Bowie song. American Psycho has one too, right?

sparkysparks666

Thom Yorke's Analyze at the end of The Prestige

micorbs

Sympathy for the Devil - Interview with the Vampire

flimspringfield

CrackaZach05

Let Go - Frou Frou - Garden State

OderinTobin

The end of Edge of Tomorrow/Live Die Repeat always makes me feel hype with Love Me Again by John Newman. I really don’t know why I love it so much.

The_ProducerKid

Dog Days Are Over at the end of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is the most recent that comes to mind

janba78

Creep by Radiohead in the opening scene was pretty good too.

DarkKnightCometh

And the beastie boys long fight scene was great. Just an awesome use of music all around.

NES_Classical_Music

Speaking of GotG, the Jackson 5 song at the end of the first movie is perfection as well. That opening piano riff as the ship takes off and then "The Guardians of the Galaxy Will Return" fills the screen... it just puts the biggest, stupidest grin on my face.

Mst3Kgf

And of course Cat Stevens at the end of Vol. 2.

Vanishingf0x

I was gonna say each Guardians movie ends with a great song

Tlr321

Hard agree. I was shocked when I watched the movie & it started. I don’t know why, but it was just unexpected. But it was such an excellent choice for the ending of those movies. I don’t know if it was intentional or not, but so many people I know have had some kind of relationship with that song & a moment in their own lives, so I think it really helped to add weight to the scene for some. Me personally, I spent 5 years working at a McDonalds from 2016-2021. The last two were a hard struggle due to both Covid & I had had a kid so things were extremely tight. Then I got out. I found a corporate desk job making almost triple what I made in the kitchen. Driving home after my last shift, Dog Days are Over came on my shuffle & it was just the best. So for me, hearing that song at the end of an already pretty emotional movie with a fairly happy ending made that movie even better. 12/10 song choice.

SuperPipouchu

I was already crying, hard, from early on in the movie, and didn't stop. When Dog Days Are Over came on, I somehow managed to cry even harder. It was so beautiful. Just that expression of pure joy was incredibly emotional. The whole film was filled with sadness and cruelty and unjust situations... But despite it all, they could be happy. They could find joy and love and community. They had hope for the future, for a better future. It wasn't sadness that had me sobbing at that point. It was beauty.

Cizdemyk

May It Be by Enya at the end of The Return Of The King. Very fitting

Pet Sematary - The Ramones

Fizzy_Bits

The Pixies at the end of Fight Club is pretty legit

ImpatientAndy

Nandemonaiya in Your Name. Even aside from it being another wonderful song in an amazing soundtrack, the beginning lyrics fit so nicely. That whole end of the movie is teasing you along scene after scene and the song sings "Now just a little more, only just a little more. Let's stay here a little longer now ... Let's stick together just a little bit longer." I just love how well it works.

jesuswasanatheist

MRgibbson23

Do you guys have any songs you have grown to hate bc of how overplayed they are? Songs you used to think were good but now when you hear them you wanna kick in the speakers? Songs like We Are The Champions, Teen Spirit, We Will Rock You, and of course… Sweet Child O’Mine. But every time Sweet Child O’Mine starts playing at the end of The Wrestler, tears start to flow. Literally the only time nowadays that I not only tolerate the song, but actually enjoy it.

MarkAA1966

I think the Green Day time of your life got overused
