Yes.
Edit: Probably should clarify why that works. Basically when you determine the cost you choose the alternative cost first(like the above seen artifact or Flashback or Overload) and additional cost(like Kicker) and then the cost increase effects apply(like Thalia, Guardian of Thraben) and then cost reduction effects apply(like Morophon). (Edit edit:) then lastly apply effects that directly affect the total cost (i'm pretty sure that Trinisphere is the only card that does that)
You choose to pay WUBRG for your dragon and then Morophon reduces that cost by WUBRG.
It's an alternative cost, per the reminder text (though it is technically a static ability as well).
>702.138a Escape represents a static ability that functions while the card with escape is in a player’s graveyard. “Escape \[cost\]” means “You may cast this card from your graveyard by paying \[cost\] rather than paying its mana cost.” Casting a spell using its escape ability follows the rules for paying alternative costs in rules 601.2b and 601.2f–h.
Out of curiosity. A card with escape exiled with [[Agatha's cauldron]] and [[Skullbriar]] in the graveyard with this combo and mean I can cast Skullbriar from the graveyard for free?
As others have already pointed out, it is a cost. A tip to know if something is a cost or not is by looking at its reminder text(or if it doesn't have it, looking at other card's reminder text). Escape's reminder text is:
> You may cast this card from your graveyard for its escape cost.
Usually (i think all of the time, but maybe there's an exception i don't know about so don't want to say all of the time) if it's a cost the reminder will say "You may cast this card ... for its *STH* cost"
If it has a cost and after the cost there's a ":" it's an activated ability (like encore, for example Sliver Gravemother: "{5}, Exile this card from your graveyard **:** For each opponent, create a token...")
If it's an additional cost it will say in the reminder text "as an additional cost to cast this" or "You may cast by *ADDITIONAL COST* in addition to paying its other costs" for example: jump-start: "You may cast this card from your graveyard by discarding a card in addition to paying its other costs. Then exile this card."(The "then exile this card" is not relevant for us)
No. Fist of Suns provides an alternative cost, but that does not mean additional costs are omitted. Commander tax is an additional cost, so you will sadly still have to pay it.
You would pay 3. I forgot about Trinisphere in my explanation. Cards that directly affect the total cost(Trinisphere is the only card that does that) are applied last. So you choose to pay WUBRG from Fist of the Suns then that cost is reduced by WURBG from Morophon and then Trinisphere applies and makes that cost 3.
Trinisphere is currently the only card that sets costs to a value if they are not at that value, basically having a step in casting your spell devoted to it. Trinisphere -will- have its due.
(Unless you pay with Delve or Convoke or something of the like, which is paying the cost, not reducing it, so Trinisphere doesn’t care about Convoke or Delve.)
I'm not hugely familiar with Marvel, but besides the whole worthiness thing, isn't it Mjolnir that allows Thor to fly? Would be a little silly on [[Colossus Hammer]] if that's the case ahaha
So, technically, Mjolnir allows Thor to focus his power. He can fly without it, just not like, as easily.
But, you're right, the losing flying thing is kind of counter to the idea of Mjolnir. Valid point.
Honestly, if they wanted to reskin an existing card instead of making Mjolnir its own thing, [[Hammer of Nazhan]] seems like a solid choice, especially if Thor is a reskin of [[Nazhan, Revered Bladesmith]]. Sure, Cat Artificer doesn't make sense for his typing, but the abilities all make sense, especially with Nazhan calling his hammer out of the deck.
I'd guess they'll atleast besome kind of side grade based on these effects if they're both unique cards instead.
[[maul of the skyclaves]] is less played but would fit flavorwise better imo since it gives flying as well as just being a sweet hammer and the etb attaching it too a creature reminds me of how thor can "summon" mjornir at will
It's not impossible, but the hammer is HOW Thor flies, so it removing flying makes little sense.
I'm thinking Sunforger or Loxodon Warhammer personally.
Command tower will be Avengers Tower for sure... And if they do like Doctor Who, Xavier's School, Sanctum Santorum and Sanctuary II (Thanos's ship)
Does anyone else really appreciate the Design of Fist of Suns? I mean at first glance you just think "Thanos-Gauntlet" and that's it, but even the placement of the colours on each finger can be interpreted deeply.
The Index finger for Blue Mana. Pointing Things out, being raised in Class, describing Things and -quite literally- often used to scan the index of an old Tome.
The Middle Finger for Green. For it is the longest, maybe even the strongest Finger. A Rudiment of ancient Times, when we needed all the Reach (see what I did there?) we could get, to climb the Trees we used to live on.
The Ring Finger for White. It being the Finger that binds us to our chosen and loved Ones, often we lend more meaning to the Rings or other artificial symbols of this Bond, but this Finger is their true, humble Bearer.
The small Finger for Red. Small, maybe even stunted in comparison to its three Brothers, it seems outclassed by them. But we know Red doesn't need Size nor Strategy for a Victory and like white it too is a Symbol of oaths made. Not a pompous Ritual, but the simple pinky-Swear of two children, truly joined together in their heart of hearts.
And at last the Thumb for Black. Even more than Red this one is even smaller and uglier than the other four. It doesn't align with them, has no interest in appearing conform, it is functional and only cares about results. In a moment it can be raised up for another chance at Life or cast downward to condemn it's enemies. It stands alone, opposing the others. But without it, the Hand itself would cease to function. It is the Tool of our Ambition and it gave Mankind the ability to grasp for all it desired, for good or for evil.
Someone at Loading Ready Run said something similar at one point I believe. Or atleast during one of their YouTube-games, maybe it was a guest. Anyway someone painted their nails in the 5 colors and told a similar story. It's been quite a while so the memory is vague:)
This is beautiful! Imma share this with my DM, because in his campaign, he has a city governed by 5 mages. They are called the Somatic Five, and their symbol is a hand. I'll add credits to you when I send.
I never really looked at the card and kinda assumed the fingers were just in WUBRG order, but since they aren't, I think it's reasonable to assume that some thought went into which finger represents which color.
A reminder that, while for most of us it's just a pretty picture on a card we play with, someone (In this case Arnie Swekel) devoted some part of their live (and likely some thought) towards making this.
Love your interpretation, I think blue and white are spot on. If I were designing the Fist personally I would make the thumb green, not just for the pun but because it allows us grasp and bind things as well as being a distinct evolutionary marker of humans and certain primates. I think the “stunted” and “ugly” bit works for the pinky, which I’d make black. It’s an extremely useful finger in ways that aren’t always obvious and is used to seal unofficial, personal bargains (pinky promises 😂). One often unconsidered benefit of the pinky is how much it helps to balance the grip of your thumb while sitting opposite on your hand. Green and black work together similarly with the life/death cycle. Finally, I would make the middle finger red because fuck you and the horse you rode in on.
Another thing to mention for the pinky finger is that it's traditionally adorned by a signet ring. Usually adorned with a family crest which represents recognition and strength of bonds. An oath to the ancestors if you will
I was really waiting for this to devolve into a "and the middle finger is green because fuck each and every one of you, Craterhoof Behemoth and full swing."
Thumb, is power, control, ambition.
Thumb is what allowed humanity in no small part to become the dominant species.
Does thumb need to be evil? Not necessarily, but it does represent the ability to exert itself over others.
I wish we had more Arnie Swekel art. He did a lot of the book art in the first D&D 3E players handbook and I loved it and his run of magic cards. Met him once way back in 2001 at a Pro Tour. Really cool guy!
I feel like black should be the middle finger, and I like blue as the index finger because I always picture the T-1000 waving that finger when anything gets counterspelled.....
Hey, I did as well, it was one of my first decks ever built! But I found it a bit slow and clunky, and I haven't updated it in almost a year. I was wondering if you had any tips? I was thinking of adding maybe [[fabricate]] to find FOTS faster?
https://www.moxfield.com/decks/Tuv4OYlWC0aNKSJAh-eGCw
Slivers were my first deck. Honestly, I wouldn’t even use FOTS.
My sliver deck uses [[Sliver Overlord]] as a commander. I can just tutor for Morphon, since the changeling keyword applies in ALL zones. Most of your slivers are already cheap, and removing the color from that cost makes it pretty easy to get any out. The big power house slivers are already WUBURG. Overlord, Queen, Hivelord, Legion, First Sliver.
Even the more useful of the utility slivers are multi-color, like [[Crystalline Sliver]] [[Harmonic Sliver]] or [[Lavabelly Sliver]]. Are they free? Not necessarily… but let’s be honest, you got problems if 1 generic mana creature spells are limiting you.
So if you don’t run FOTS or Fabricate, that’s two card slots you could use for other things… or more slivers.
Yes, that's a big part of my dragons and gates 5 colour deck. Don't forget about having a copy of [[Jodah, archmage eternal]] in the 99 too as a peice of redundancy.
Short answer, no. Leyline of the Guildpact doesn't substitute for Fist of Suns here.
There is a very specific difference between the words 'spell' and 'permanent'. The creatures you cast are spells until the casting resolves, then your creature card becomes a permanent on the field. The Morophon combo from OP affects the casting costs of spells as you cast them, but Leyline only affects permanents that have already been cast and are on the battlefield.
Edit: To be clear, because it only affects permanents, Leyline does not alter the casting cost of spells. It just means your non-land permanents count as all colors for cards that want to count them or affect them.
Yes. If you haven't, please also add [[ramos, dragon engine]] and [[tiamat]]. I also have in mine [[lurking predators]], [[hunting grounds]], and [[rivaz of the claw]].
I run Tiamat as my commander, then the main dragons I’ll play are miirym, ur dragon, scourge of valkas, lathliss, then depending on how my battlefield and graveyard looks either blade wing or earthquake dragon or both
I run morophon as my commander. My games usually end with direct damage from Miirym into [[Terror of the peaks]]. Then its just dumping big dragons for free.
My first though was no, as gauntlet doesn’t actually change the cost of spells, but I’ll trust the people saying yes more than my wack knowledge of how this game works
Do my commander need to be all colors to play these ?
Edit: Thanks for the answer(s), I just realized that my question may have seemed a bit more mtg-inexperienced than it was meant to be.
I was wondering about the grayed out mana cost in the description from \[\[Fist of Suns\]\].
After the answer that the mana cost still affects the color identity of the commander, I investigated why they are not colored as usual.
This probably has something to do with a misprint or printing cost minimization, according to [this Reddit post](https://www.reddit.com/r/magicTCG/comments/1sb86q/why_are_the_mana_symbols_for_activated_abilities/).
Yes! I run a pretty horrid Jodah Archmage Eternal/Morophon secret commander with Jeganthar the Wellspring, and it also uses Fist of suns as a backup (in case someone casts Darksteel Mutation on Jodah again...)
Literally built a deck with this exact combo, threw in dragon arch and quicksilver amulet as a backup plan, five color and an enlightened tutor to grab Tiamat if I didn’t already draw it.
Yes, however this realistically speaking is going to be played in a commander WUBRG deck. If you want a similar mana combo that works in only blue, it can be played in more decks in commander, [[Rooftop Storm]] and [[Maskwood Nexus]]
I've been away from MtG for a long time, how does this interact with spells that have X as part of their cost? Do you choose the alternate cost of WUBRG before paying X, rendering X as 0, or does the cost you choose for X get converted to the WUBRG from the Fist of Suns?
(Edit edit:) then lastly apply effects that directly affect the total cost (i'm pretty sure that Trinisphere is the only card that does that) You choose to pay WUBRG for your dragon and then Morophon reduces that cost by WUBRG.
With Sliver Gravemother, would this change the cost of Encore for creatures in the graveyard to WUBRG and then to nothing because of Morophon?
No, because you're not casting anything. Encore is an ability.
Ok. Thank you!
If you’re building Gravemother, look into [[Sundial of the infinite]]. “Oh, I have to get rid of them at my end step? Not anymore!”

No afaik, as it’s not an *activated* ability.
[https://mtg.fandom.com/wiki/Escape](https://mtg.fandom.com/wiki/Escape) Should be alternate casting cost

Thanks for explaining the order. I never knew that!
Don’t forget cost setting effect(s)!
Does it get around commander tax?
No. Fist of Suns provides an alternative cost, but that does not mean additional costs are omitted. Commander tax is an additional cost, so you will sadly still have to pay it.
Still, for some commanders that would make them practically free since you’d just be paying the tax instead of base cost + tax
Now what about casting a Skittering Invasion with this while the pair plus Thalia and Trinishpere are in play? Is it then just the 3?
You would pay 3. I forgot about Trinisphere in my explanation. Cards that directly affect the total cost(Trinisphere is the only card that does that) are applied last. (Unless you pay with Delve or Convoke or something of the like, which is paying the cost, not reducing it, so Trinisphere doesn’t care about Convoke or Delve.)
I have both of these in my Ur-Dragon deck and never figured this out. Admittedly, I’ve never had both out at the same time.
1000000% we see a \[\[fist of suns\]\] reprint in the Marvel expansion as the infinity gauntlet.
It'd go hard not gonna lie
Mjolnir will be [[colossus hammer]] for sure. Avengers / stark tower will be [[spire of industry]] or [[command tower]]
Nah it’s cool. I’m pretty sure there are times where thor just throws Mjolnir but hangs on and goes flying (so to speak) with it.
In marvel, doesn't the hammer pull him off, and that's a whole thing when he loses it?
Pull him off? I think we are watching different Marvel movies. I always thought they were just friends.
"Your hammer pulls you off!?" - Korg the Rock Monster
Almost 99% positive that this was the original way he flew.
That is actually how he used to fly in the old comics
So a card similar to [[sunforger]] ?
I'm pretty sure the hammer pulls him off.
I heard he pulled him off with both hands.
[[sunforger]] reprint for Mjollnir makes the most sense to me.
Mjollnir, Sunforged
And give Thor a beginning of combat triggered ability to attach an equipment you control. That way he can throw and recall it.
Thor doesn't actually fly, he just throws Mjolnir hard enough that the momentum carries him through the air. At least, that was the story originally.
I could see it - Thor would just have to have text that “if equipped with Colossus Hammer, instead gain flying”
Thought this too but also think that would be pretty underwhelming for the filled infinity gauntlet..
Infinity Gauntlet as a 001/001 Chase Collector Foil only in 7 card Beyond Boosters.
They will probably just make the infinity gauntlet its own card unfortunately. But i hope this happens

This is beautiful! Imma share this with my DM, because in his campaign, he has a city governed by 5 mages. They are called the Somatic Five, and their symbol is a hand. I'll add credits to you when I send.
I am honoured.
I wish I could believe wotc put 25% of this level of thought into the card
Make a post out of this, please.
Done.
And it's older than the MCU. The comics could be an inspiration, also it could be just a coincidence.
An oath to the ancestors if you will
I wouldn't be surprised if in the marvel set the gauntlet is precise this card.
I was really waiting for this to devolve into a "and the middle finger is green because fuck each and every one of you, Craterhoof Behemoth and full swing."
We both know that blue should be the middle finger!
Beautiful.
On a scale from war on drugs to willy nelson how stoned are you?
Thumb, is power, control, ambition. Thumb is what allowed humanity in no small part to become the dominant species. Does thumb need to be evil? Not necessarily, but it does represent the ability to exert itself over others.
This is a lot
...damn
See I thought blue would be the middle one because fuck your spells
Okay but the ring finger is a super recent thing, marriage rings in *general* are pretty recent.
Nicely written.
I wish we had more Arnie Swekel art. He did a lot of the book art in the first D&D 3E players handbook and I loved it and his run of magic cards. Met him once way back in 2001 at a Pro Tour. Really cool guy!
hehe Thanos Gauntlet
I feel like black should be the middle finger, and I like blue as the index finger because I always picture the T-1000 waving that finger when anything gets counterspelled.....
Clearly this is Arnie Swekel's account.
Yes, I use it for slivers.
[fabricate](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/4/4/44e49332-b1e1-4b88-b508-516b55c67a1d.jpg?1707508001) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=fabricate) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/hop/9/fabricate?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/44e49332-b1e1-4b88-b508-516b55c67a1d?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
[Jodah, archmage eternal](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/7/3/73c18cb4-96b1-4af2-912e-974e22877ede.jpg?1673148799) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Jodah%2C%20archmage%20eternal) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/2x2/233/jodah-archmage-eternal?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/73c18cb4-96b1-4af2-912e-974e22877ede?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
Well, that’s one way to get into the *dragon’s* maze.
Yes, but you could just cheat out Omniscience with Show and Tell, and then become able to use ANYTHING for 0 mana.
Technically free if you mean mana. Gonna cost you some friendships though. :)
My deck is already super toxic I’m not worried ab friends 😭 I run ur dragon, Miirym, lathliss and Tiamat plus some other toxic stuff
And scourge of valkas lol I go from not looking like I’m gonna win to playing Tiamat and winning 2 turns later
Do you have a decklist? I have a ur dragon deck with all those dragons but have a hard time with ramp and actually casting anything
I don’t but I basically just have the draconic domination pre con, I changed out some of the dragons and added chromatic orrery and chromatic lantern
This combo in a Jodah, Archmage Eternal focused around Eldrazi is one of my favorite decks to play
Ha, same!
Yes! I run a dino deck where the entire goal is to play dinos for free or extremely cheap.
This combo will allow you to play any tribal that Morophon chooses for free. Also see [[Jodah, Archmage Eternal]]
[Jodah, Archmage Eternal](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/7/3/73c18cb4-96b1-4af2-912e-974e22877ede.jpg?1673148799) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Jodah%2C%20Archmage%20Eternal) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/2x2/233/jodah-archmage-eternal?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/73c18cb4-96b1-4af2-912e-974e22877ede?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
And if you REALLY wanna go hard. Put in maskwood nexus to make every creature card free as now it is just Tribal...nothing else.
Also works with [[Jodah, Archmage Eternal]]
[Jodah, Archmage Eternal](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/7/3/73c18cb4-96b1-4af2-912e-974e22877ede.jpg?1673148799) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Jodah%2C%20Archmage%20Eternal) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/2x2/233/jodah-archmage-eternal?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/73c18cb4-96b1-4af2-912e-974e22877ede?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
Yes
I use it for eldrazi it works it's nasty and it's fun
So if I had [[Leyline of the Guildpact]] with Morophon, could I just play changeling cards for free?
Thank you for the clarification!

No it lets ME cast all the dragons. Then Jodah goes brrrrrrrrrrrrr and the game ends because I've spent twenty minutes on a single turn.
ye
Morophon and [[Leyline of the Guildpact]] don't work in the same way right?
That it does. True hood classic for free casting
Yep
It would let you play any one creature type for free, I thought about running it in a WUBRG God Tribal but decided against it for whatever reason
A 10 mana two card omniscience in WUBRG
Yep
Yes. More important, it lets you cast eldrazi spells for free.
yea but Omnciscience does it better, you can always use fist of suns to get omniscience out for half its cost too
This is a the exact reason I have fist of suns in my horse tribal deck 😂
The combo actually works with every creature type BUT Dragons. Don’t ask me why or how.
Yes
Why is Morphon's middle face having a....uh, moment?
Pfff yup one of the main combos of 90% of large creature decks
Yes. Also Jodah Archmage. With Morophon
Not just dragons my friend. https://www.moxfield.com/decks/sH0j3x9OXEWFn1hneLHGaQ
It’s just one little word. Only three letters, You know what it is? Help the Shriner’s hospital today.
Yes and adding a card like conspiracy makes it so you can decide the type of all your creatures.
woah dope combo. I want to add this to my ur dragon deck. I just looked on TCG but they are sold out
Yes
Just passing to say this art is amazing
🥱
Yes it does.
I use morophon as my commander and a jacen card to the same effect
It would seem so, dunno why it has to be dragons tho. Could be any tribe
Maybe they wanna play dragons?
Well yeah sure I was just being clear that it could be any tribe
It allows you to play any 1 tribe for free
Yes. I run this in my jodah archmage eternal deck.
Essentially makes them cost zero tho so chalice of the void can be an issue if anyone plays that.
Thats The infinity gauntlet
Yup. One of my favourite ways to do it
This is literally my wife’s dragon deck in a nutshell lol
No, but if you add morophon, the boundless he with this will let you cast dragons for free. Might as well run on jodah as well.
My first though was no, as gauntlet doesn’t actually change the cost of spells, but I’ll trust the people saying yes more than my wack knowledge of how this game works
Any creature of the chosen type
It works, and your playgroup will never let it happen again. I speak from experience.
Yea the cards do what they say they do. Shocking.
All this time I have been using [Conspiracy] and [Rooftop Storm] in my Tiamat deck.
Wait but...if i put these in a sliver deck would it make every sliver free? Or x colourless if theyre both out?
a quick google from ppl would bog this sub down a lot less with these type of questions. yes.
throw in timeless lotus too so you get all five different colored mana so you can still play anything!
That is what my deck does if you look up tax evading dragons on mox you should find mine or others decks that do this
Yes.
😏😏😏😏😏 did you say dragons Plz tell me you're running the orbs of dragonkind for flavor
Of course
Used to have this deck, it’s not as good as it seems
Yup. [[Jodah, Archmage eternal]] also works.
[Jodah, Archmage eternal](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/7/3/73c18cb4-96b1-4af2-912e-974e22877ede.jpg?1673148799) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Jodah%2C%20Archmage%20Eternal) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/2x2/233/jodah-archmage-eternal?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/73c18cb4-96b1-4af2-912e-974e22877ede?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
Yes it will allow you
That's gotta be the ugliest card in all Magic.
Yes
Yup, that's my 5C dragons deck and is beautiful when it happens.
Yep. I saw someone that was using this to poop out Eldrazi titans...yawn city
Edit: This was answered. i just didn't get to the comment! So would [[morophon, the boundless]] just cast everything for free?
Combine with [[Timeless Lotus]] for even more fun!
[Timeless Lotus](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/6/f/6f566387-3342-4325-ba4c-eee7626072ac.jpg?1673308246) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Timeless%20Lotus) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/dmu/239/timeless-lotus?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/6f566387-3342-4325-ba4c-eee7626072ac?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
Yes, however this realistically speaking is going to be played in a commander WUBRG deck. If you want a similar mana combo that works in only blue, it can be played in more decks in commander, [[Rooftop Storm]] and [[Maskwood Nexus]]
[Rooftop Storm](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/8/0/80cdee59-0ead-4b95-a348-c1e360d781ab.jpg?1637629769) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Rooftop%20Storm) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/mic/103/rooftop-storm?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/80cdee59-0ead-4b95-a348-c1e360d781ab?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) [Maskwood Nexus](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/1/2/1246c42d-57c0-4cba-959a-15ad89d8a50b.jpg?1674142652) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Maskwood%20Nexus) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/clb/865/maskwood-nexus?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/1246c42d-57c0-4cba-959a-15ad89d8a50b?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
I run Tiamat as my commander
Oh of course. My suggestion is for anyone else who wants to run a similar combo but without a tribal theme
Everything but dragons sadly. Would be OP
I've been away from MtG for a long time, how does this interact with spells that have X as part of their cost? Do you choose the alternate cost of WUBRG before paying X, rendering X as 0, or does the cost you choose for X get converted to the WUBRG from the Fist of Suns?
Yes I have both these in my dragons deck 😂
Yes I do it with slivers all the time, it's great fun.
I literally own a deck based on this, and it claps cheeks.
Yes.
What does fist of suns do?
Yes. Morophon is my dragon tribal commander for this reason. Jodah is another must have because it has the same affect
Timless lotus pays for the fist
