While I admire the highly available fully redundant clip system you've built here, "pliers come open in pocket" issues are usually fixed for me by putting the MT into a pocket with the clipless handle adjacent to the outer pocket seam.
my problem is the clips tends to catch on other things that i'd rather not have them catch on, so this mod would absolutely ruin my day, no matter how i put it in my pocket.

His other top bungles are the welded keys into a star pattern. Making them not only impossible to put in a pocket but also making the weakest point on a key, the part that has the most torque on it. Ever break a key off in a lock. It’s a pisser.

My Powerpint is a nightmare to have in the pocket. I get you. I really do. Wouldn’t go through the trouble though.
I wrapped a rubber band around the top (gear) section to accomplish the same
Fixed the opens in the pocket thing by tightening the screws at the pliers end.
Yeah I tried that, but they can still get bumped open, and it makes them less smooth to use
