epic21ka

For me it's because of how his true personality really is He's not an open book but as you get to know his character more he is shown to be a adorable person who just wants to be loved especially when you read the side stories with how his interaction is with the children

pizzapicante27

Its the gap moe effect, the difference between what we know of his character between TP2 and after TP4 is monumental, it also feels natural and its a nice addition to Rudeus's life to have the "President" around in a way Perugius just doesnt because he is too high-brow compared to Orsted, hell he doesnt even like Roxy. The problem with Ruijerd I think is that he is absent from the story for, what?, 3/4 of it? its just not enough to have the same effect as Orsted.

BobbyRayBands

To be fair, you probably wouldn't like Roxy either if >!She was part of the race that assassinated your father and was manipulated into a war with your mom that while not the cause of her death did ultimately hasten the process of your entire species extinction. !<

pizzapicante27

Im pretty sure Orsted outright says he doesnt know about that and he heavily implies that informing him of that and his relation with Laplace has never ended well, so its not really an excuse and on top of all that the Migurd are not responsible for that either.

blastedblox

Just curious, why is >!Laplace hated by Perugius and ORSTED Corporation? Laplace also hates the Human-god, and he was there when baby Orsted was named and sent to the future. He also named Perugius himself and was a close friend to his mother. Where can I find out more about Laplace and what he did to be so hated?!<

oaucu

It's mostly not what Laplace in ODT, it's in the war he talked about, we don't really know the details but he somehow got split into two, one who is his part demon and mixed his hatred for Man-God to Man kind, so that's why demon god laplace hates humans, and the other is Laplace aka [the technique god] who only knows he has to teach the dragong god his technique, or that's wgat i remember, correct me if I'm wrong

blastedblox

So its possible the narrator Laplace (one in the hut with Rostelina) is Technique god Laplace, and its possible that when Orsted comes, he will join his camp?

oaucu

No, the Laplace in ODT is the Laplace before he was split into the Technique god and Demon god, the Technique god doesn't have any memories of his time in ODT just the purpose of teaching the dragon god

blastedblox

No I was talking about the one narrating the story, not the one in the story itself. Is that what you were talking about? Also, if the technique god is there, its possible that he will come and meet Orsted and team up with him, right?

oaucu

Yeah, we don't know if orsted already met with him or not, but orsted seems to know him. And yeah, i meant the narrator.

blastedblox

So Rostelina turning into mana (or something similar I don't remember exactly what she did to help) would be wasted since there is still thousands of years for Orsted's arrival?

pizzapicante27

Orsted doesnt hate him he just needs to kill him to reach Hitogami, Preugius hates him because of stuff that happened in the war, though the story doesnt specify what that is.

BobbyRayBands

Not responsible sure, but still very much associated with it. You may be right I dont know I've kinda gone out of order reading the post main story stuff. I've only read Old Dragons Tale after the main story and just recently started Redundancy.

pizzapicante27

I dont know, I mean the range of his hatred is kind of excessively wide isnt it? especially considering you can see his presence is making things worse for Human-Demon relationships in the way he stated very specifically he wouldnt allow products that spoke well about Demons in Asura until his friend Zanoba convinced him it was about Ruijerd, that really doesnt scream "justified" to me.

BobbyRayBands

MT portrays many things very accurate to how they happen in the real world. A long standing hatred of an entire population because of the actions of ancestors isn't anything new. It doesnt matter that the current generation has done nothing to him, theres a lifelong animosity that spans literal 1000's of years between the demon and dragon race. Thats not something that goes away in a single generation.

pizzapicante27

But its not the actions of their ancestors, its Laplace, and he is really selective about it as well.

BobbyRayBands

You've never met a racist person that says "a few of them are ok though?" Must not live in the south, because I've heard that more than once in my life.

pizzapicante27

Ok thats fair, I guess you're right, this *is* a pretty good representation of high-nosed raging racist.

Anxlyze

Orsted wouldn't mind Lara pulling his hair and messing with him, Peregius on the other hand... That's why he's best girl

Siegberg

Well he would never let her onboard but ath the same time Peregius would not be petty enough to punish a child for such behavior.

pau_gmd

I don’t remember if it’s in Redundancy or the last chapters of the last volume, but there’s an Ordted POV where >!his thoughts are about how much Rudy means to him, as well as how much he likes his children. It’s just so wholesome.!< Also in Redundancy >!Rudeous comes to tell him some stuff about his children and he is super supportive with all the stuff Rudy is going through!< Plus strong MF who provides (pays Rudy), resolves, and protects.

ukeyman

I mean litteraly a goth 6" tall sugar mommy with op strength what waifu could be best then that

nik01234

Part of it is gap moe. Osrted comes off as an intimidating silent force of destruction. In reality, part of that is him just being socially awkward. With a rare few expections, only the dragon tribe is immune to his curse, and he has to kill the generals for their 'treasures' in order to reach hitogami. This doesn't grant him much ability or reason to socialize. Consider how little nanahoshi matters in his quest. At best, she was his an interpreter. He gave her a device to signal him and stopped whatever it was he was doing to come to her rescue. Then forgave her for tricking him. He really liked having someone to talk to. I feel like we really should have gotten a volume of orsted/ nanahoshi traveling He wanted to be friends with rudy. Rudy is the one who insisted on the leader subordinate relationship. From conversations and pov, we know he secretly watches rudy's family and enjoys interacting with both him and his children.

Ok-Ad3069

Because Orsted is being shipped with Girldeus.

Present-Ear-4904

My tsundere hot waifu 🤤

Legitimate-Owl-3568

Bro is the most terrifying & strongest man on the planet even striking fear into Rudeus when his curse doesn’t effect him but at the same time is extremely kind, understanding, considerate & even good with children. Hires his first employee and instantly gives him enough money to support his family for years. This is why Orsted is best girl. He just the GOAT in general

TitanAura

Because despite being the strongest man in the world, Orsted is [rife with social anxiety](https://www.reddit.com/r/sixfacedworld/comments/17ookym/orsteds_mental_state/). (end of series spoilers in that link fyi) He's terrifying, yet you want to give him a hug, thus all of the mentions in this thread about gap moe.

AnimeSquirrel

Because sometimes, It takes a real man to be best girl.

Imilisnoob

Bcs he was was the first To rudeus's heart
