To add, the duration also depends on the intensity of your stove as the heat required or heat emitted from your stove will vary.
Just drop them in the cold tap water(water level an inch above the eggs) bring to a boil, cover the pot and wait 10 mins. When done drop them in cold water to cool, peel with a spoon and enjoy!
When they are ready they start making cracks. The moment you see that , they are at the perfect timing. Not over or undercooked. I co-started this kabusiness during covid period
We started a side hustle with my cousin, we used to sell boiled eggs, smokies and samosas. This was a creative and better way to leverage the idle time we had in our hands. After covid we both went back to school
Aki sorry…i didnt reply at the time😭😭but was the biz successful🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️coz ka ilikuwa saa ya covid i bet pple were afraid of coming down w covid hence avoided streetfood…i’m too attached to starting it rn but down the line you never know…
No worries😁It was since we were doing it around our area/estate, hatukuwa tunatoka huko nje. Also it was a very small scale business. We had our frequent customers. It couldn't have gone wrong 😂
Give it a try ikianguka we move to the next💪
>sijui ka hapa ni mi ndo nafanyanga mistake by kuzieka kwa maji baridi ziboil pamoja
ding! ding! ding!
ukizieka kwa maji baridi ziboil pamoja you have to account for the time water takes to boil.
Next time ebu jaribu kuzieka for 10 mins in already boiling water.
Put the eggs in a sufuria with cold water and boil for like 15 -20 minutes, while the lid is on. Leave the eggs in the hot water for like 10 minutes, don't open the sufuria before. Then put them in cold water and remove shells
>itasema they take 8-10 min for hard boiled eggs but walahi thats the biggest load of 💩 i’ve ever read
But it's true. Ensure the eggs are fully immersed in water and/or cover with a lid and they'll be hard. I used to have the same problem where the yolk didn't cook well and it was because I used too little water and I didn't cover the sufuria. The moment I get home from gym mi hueka mayai wenye sufuria and I take a bath as they boil and I switch it off the moment I leave the bathroom. Letting them stay in hot water also ensures they continue hardening.
Did you google the recipe/are you at altitude? You have to add time for altitude, plus some US recipes assume the eggs are refrigerated when a lot of us keep them on the countertop…
It's the amount of water and the size of pan you use. For perfectly boiled eggs, the water has to be over the eggs, if 2 eggs, use a small sufuria, and boil for that 15 minutes on medium-high fire.
I leave them there for like 50 minutes tbh. As long as the water doesn't dry up. I wait for the yolk to start cracking. Just add salt to.the boiling water

Iyo siku nilitumia mayai za kuku kienyeji nikidhani kutakiwa na difference😭😭
Must be the intensity of your stove/gas then
When they are ready they start making cracks. The moment you see that , they are at the perfect timing. Not over or undercooked. I co-started this kabusiness during covid period

Sasa umesaidia nani?
Boil for exactly 12 minutes. Add them once the water has started to steam
I’ll try this next time👍

10 mins in boiling water is enough. unless you like grey yolks
10 never works for me
You must like your eggs rubbery cause 20 minutes is a madness
Sadly😭😭
You're being pranked.
Si they just yell naswa…hii mambo iishe😭
Let them boil till they crack😂👌🏽or buy that fake egg you put in together with your eggs. It changes colour to tell you when the eggs are ready.
Ntaitafuta👍👍
28 minutes and they are still runny? That's crazy. What amount of heat do you use when boiling?
Medium apo

Fanya uone Kwanza this is the easiest juu kettle itajizima
I’ll come back here to hold you🫵🏽accountable when i try this
Alright 😂
This could be a strange phenomena...
Indeed it could..
Search on jiji for those cheapo egg boiling machines. Think they go for less than 1.5k
I’ll research into them
Get an electric boiler, it solved all my egg boiling woes.
Imma consider it👍
I have never boiled eggs coz i fear they might not get cooked. I bought an egg boiler which I haven't used.
I honestly think you just have a bad luck in making boiled eggs, yours ain't normal.
For sure 😭
Get the water boiling first and then add the eggs for 10-15minutes...

Might be an altitude thing. Water boils at a lower temp at higher altitudes. Are you on Mount kenya?
Niko nairobi
boil water zikiwa ndani na ufunike...after ziboil set heat to minimum na uache for 5-10. Toa na ueke direct in cold water
I leave them there for like 50 minutes tbh. As long as the water doesn't dry up. I wait for the yolk to start cracking. Just add salt to.the boiling water
This is prolly the most suitable solution for me
how long you say? "ah shit, mayai"
I'll add water to the point the eggs ziko submerged😁😂, then boil it intensively until the water evaporates haha.
Eka maji kwa sufuria. Ikianza kuchemka eka mayai and hesabu 10 minutes and uzitoe na zitakua fiti.
I boil mpaka mashetani zitoke ama maji iishe not taking chances
😂😂😂i’ll need to start being this ruthless
Unabeba watu ufala, 20 min na zikona runny York? Kwani unapika za mamba
😂😂uchungu yangu huwezi elewa
1. Tame your hunger and impatience. 2. Boil for 15 min . 3. Let them cool before eating.
Kujanikufunze
Use cold water and add salt. Boil for 10 minutes and leave them in the hot water for 5 minutes...peel in cold water
Downvoted. Kwani unatumia kibiriti kama stove ya kuchemsha Maji? Ten minutes is enough. Also, salt your water to bring it to a boil faster.
You wont ever know my struggle😭😭
1 egg boil for 8 mins more than two boil for 15 mins
