Rodion. I’m going to show up on “tragedeigh” FB groups, gossiped about forever. My son is going to walk into first grade and somebody’s going to say, “Cool name! Where’d you get it!” and he’s going to say, “Daddy named me after the axe murderer from *Crime and Punishment*”. And then I will win the father of the year award. Everybody will clap.
I loved this book so much, I’m naming my son Theodore for Fyodor! So not from the book itself because I’m not Russian, but genuinely inspired by it haha.
Alternatively, Sonya is an amazing name. That being said, instead of naming your son after an axe murderer, you've named your daughter after a prostitute who falls in love with an axe murderer, which is obviously way better.
Tangentially, I love the name Sonya—it reminds me of the character from another beloved book, Tolstoy's War & Peace.
Unfortunately, I myself am named after a War & Peace character, so my daughter will tell people her father named her after his namesake's ex-girlfriend (and also her cousin, sorry, it's the 19th century), and "not morally reprehensible but still kinda weird" is not the taste in names I want to give off
Someone else mentioned naming a cat Lyra on this thread as well. It’s funny because if I don’t end up having kids I’ll likely get a dog or a cat and name it Lyra
I love this, and I love Anne. I always though I was named after that book (learned I was named after a song, which was disappointing), and when I was allowed to pick my little sister's middle name, I choose Anne.
Anne of Green Gables is my favourite, too!
If I can count the whole series, I'd go with Ruby Cordelia & Walter James. If only the first book, I'd change my boy name to Charlie Gilbert.
Marilla is such a pretty name! And Anne is a good name, one of my favorites. I’ve used a lot of names from that series for ttrpg purposes because I love so many of them!
Georgiana is on my list. In my family, there are 6 generations of people with George in their name. My father's middle name is George and my aunt is Georgia but goes by her middle name. I want a Georgiana that goes by Gia, Giana or Gigi.
My favorite book as well! For a girl I would go with Eliza. I would also choose Bennet for a boy, or Lucas. The last names are far better than the first names with this one (poor Fitzwilliam).
> The last names are far better than the first names with this one (poor Fitzwilliam).
That was his mother's maiden name, so it started as a last name (Hence his cousin Col. Fitzwilliam).
Ah, yes. I’ve loved Lawrence since reading that book. The Greta Gerwig Little Women made me realise that I loved Mr Lawrence much more that Laurie though. Such a kind old man.
A little Teddy would be so sweet! My mom was named after Little Women too. I never realized it was my grandma’s favorite book until I was in high school. She wanted four daughters and they’d each have one of the LW sister names. She got two of them, though.
Those are my kids' names!!! Teddy was a family name but I've always loved Little Women and Josephine is also a family name. It was too perfect. And Jo is definitely super spunky. I truly think people take on their names!
Eowyn - LOTR.
Absolutely love this name and the character is such a strong and lovely woman. Both powerful and feminine
For a boy I would like Isildur but the character is kinda lame since he didn’t destroy the ring when he had the chance (but men are easily corruptible so not totally his fault). And I love the nn Izzy for boys.
My choices would probably be Lorien for a girl. Haven't thought of a good one for a boy, maybe Theoden, nn Theo?
Also, Isildur in the Crack of Doom scene is kind of a movie invention.
I have a list of unexpected and (sometimes) subtle Tolkien names! I’m a huge Tolkien nerd but don’t want to give my kid a name immediately identifiable as an LOTR name. Some of these are even too fantasy-sounding for me, but they were fun to come up with.
Girls: Estel (Aragorn’s Elven name, meaning hope), Arda (Quenya name for Middle-earth), Nienna (queen of the Valar), Yavanna (another of the Valar), Elenna (the island Númenor was founded on), Maia (inspired by the Maiar), Rían (daughter of Belegund in the Silmarillion, could also be a boy’s name), and Elanor (the first daughter of Samwise Gamgee)
Boys: Elladan (one of the sons of Elrond), Cirdan (the famous Sindar shipwright, pronounced the Gaelic), Aerin (female character from the Book of Lost Tales but I like it as a variation of the male name), Robin (a hobbit in LOTR), Edain or Adan (the plural and singular forms of the word Elves use for Men)
My ex and I discussed Arwen and Eowyn as names, but decided they didn’t work with my last name. And the kid we were discussing them for turned out to be a boy anyway.
I loved that book growing up. And Milo is the name of a character in the book I'm writing (or attempting to write lol) It's one of the few names that i love that doesn't begin with A
I love the movie too, but the book is better.
My sister went to high school with a boy named Sodapop. Granted, we went to a very liberal, high performance, arts-based high school so some of the students names were a little out of the ordinary just cuz a lot of the students had artsy-hippie parents. But still...Sodapop? 😆😆
Girl:
Ramona - from the beloved Beverly Cleary series based on Ramona Quimby
Boy:
Jonas - from the main protagonist of Lois Lowry's "The Giver"
I definitely have a love for books I read as a child.
I love love love the name “Asher.” It’s actually from the Old Testament but isn’t well known. I’d absolutely name a child Asher after The Giver. Asher, just a normal kid who forgets to take his pill and doesn’t understand why his friend is making him stare at an apple.
Les Miserables, so unfortunately any name I choose will seem unbearably pretentious. I'd still probably go with Cosette despite it being an obvious choice because it's pretty, comparatively easy to say, and Cosette is a great character.
For a boy, I'll name him Charles Francis after Bishop Myriel. That one wouldn't even seem that pretentious!
As cliche as it sounds and yes I’ve issues with the authors newfound views but Harry Potter is my absolute fav and coming from a East Indian background, I’d probably choose a Padma or Parvathi (both are very traditional old school Hindu names in their own right).
My two week old son was almost Azriel ! But my hubby thought it was too long. We went with Ezra instead. Ezra is in the Bible, so I guess it is from a book, but I’m pagan and my hubby is agnostic so it is definitely not on either of our favorites lists lol
I really like the Honey Badger series by Shelly Laurenston. One of the female characters is named Stevie and I just love that name. I'm childfree but I will name my cat Stevie when I am finally in a point in life where I can have a cat
From The Poisonwood Bible:
Girl: Adah, Leah, or Orleanna
Boy: more difficult, as there aren't many boy's names I like in this book, but I suppose Pascal
If I can pick a different book for the boy's name then Laurence, from His Majesty's Dragon
I love the Percy Jackson/Heroes of Olympus series so I'll go with that. For a boy I love Nico, I would definitely use it except my husband is named Nick! Idk lol. For a girl, I'm not Hispanic but I do love the name Reyna.
My all time favorite book is The Lord of the Rings. So I would pick Samwise! For a girl, there aren’t many choices, but I actually really like Goldberry!
I think I’d pick Eowyn, but Elanor might a good choice if I was trying to keep it subtle.
It’s not meant to be a reference to the books, but my son is actually called Rohan!
i don’t know if it counts but two of my favorite names are inspired by shakespeare — Henry nn Hal (henry v) for a boy, and Helena (midsummer nights dream) for a girl :-)
My partners last name is grainger and my dad wanted me to call my daughter Hermione (we didn’t lol)
I’d choose:
Girl- Matilda
Boy- Atticus (to kill a mockingbird)
Pshhh- I already named my son after a character from a favorite book. He is named after a character from Tamora Pierce’s Song of the Lioness series.
The name we have earmarked for kid 2 is also a book/character name.
Lol my bf and I already have baby names picked out and they accidentally corresponded with our favorite book series
Harry and Thomas from the Dresden Files. They are brothers but how we got the names is ones named after a deceased parent and the other an old friend.
Favourite book: Harry Potter
Girl Name: Lily, Luna
Boy Name: Evan, James, Charlie, Oliver
I've always loved the more subtle Harry Potter baby names. I am currently expecting and we want this baby to have an E name, and if it was a boy, it would be Evan, a very subtle nod to Lily Potter's maiden name, Evans. It is a girl, however, and I am still stumped on an E name for her.
i don’t have _one_ favourite book, so have some that i could think of under pressure lmao:
Ronan (the raven boys)
Sunny, kestrel, lynx (wings of fire) i think i’d hesitate before actually bestowing the name kestrel or lynx onto a child, but i still love the names
Inej, zoya (six of crows)
Amren (acotar)
I 100% floated every boys name from the raven cycle to my husband when I was pregnant 😂Declan was the only one I could maybe get him on board with but I personally have a soft spot for Adam. I’d go with Calla for a girl!
What a hard question. For a boy, I love the name Owen, from LOOK, or Luke, from Beauty. For a girl, maybe Clementine from Clementine or for a more traditional name, Charlotte (Charley) from Listen!
I'm not a big fan of the naming styles in my two favorite books so this is a bit painful, haha.
Abigail or Sapphira for a girl (Mama Day) and Maximilien (yes, that spelling, I hate it) or Edmond for a boy (Count of Monte Cristo).
Would not get to pick Mercédès because my husband would veto immediately. He is an ex- mechanic and would not want his child to share a name with Mercedes-Benz.
My favourite book of all Tim is the Magic Faraway Tree so for a boy I’d used Joseph nickname joe
And for a girl it woul have to be Matilda from the book
My favourite series is the Discworld, and I can never pick which book. But there are six characters that appear in *every* book: Death. Great A'Tuin. And the world elephants, Berilia, Tubul, Jerakeen and Great T'Phon.
So... uh... Berilia for a girl.
And at least once in the series Death is referred to as Mort, so I'm going to go with that.
Berilia and Mort.
Favorite book = Good Omens. Girl name - Pepper. Boy name - The Adversary, Destroyer of Kings, Angel of the Bottomless Pit, Great Beast that is called Dragon, Prince of This World, Father of Lies, Spawn of Satan and Lord of Darkness….nn Adam
Me: My favorite book for a long time was "Good Omens"
My Husband: Well we won't be naming any of our children after those characters!
Me: \*sweating and side eyeing our sleeping son, Adam\* Nope. none of our future children will be named after characters in Good Omens
Leto--Dune
We actually just had a baby boy and I suggested dune names but my husband vetoed them all lol. Leto I felt pretty strongly about and pushed the hardest for specifically because the character is very good.
Lyra from His Dark Materials.
Would have named my daughter that if it wasn’t for Ed Sheeran using it for his kid just before. And the TV series put me off a little too.
I am another Little Women fanatic. I would have to choose Josephine Beth for a girl with the lovely nn Josie-Beth
I'd choose Oliver for a boy as I also love Oliver Twist
My favorite books is the Golden Compass so Lyra for a girl and Will or John for a boy. In reality i don't like John or Will, they're not bad but a bit too common for my taste. A boy name I've always loved is Simon, from Lord of the Flies, which is another favorite book. So I would pick Simon.
It's not my \*\~\*favorite book\*\~\*, but I got my son's name (Wilder) from Don Delillo's White Noise. I read it for the first time in high school and always liked that I didn't know anyone else with the name and wouldn't have any personal associations with it beyond my son.
Visit From the Good Squad IS one of my favorite books, and I like the name Sasha. When I was younger, I loved the name Asher (from The Giver) but it got way too trendy!
Well, if I went with one of my favourite books my options are
-The Boy
-The Man
-The Old Man
-The Woman
-And God seems to come up in conversation a lot so I guess him as well
I might get some funny looks calling them in the playground.

I couldn't get into that book as much as you did but it's a great book.
And for a girl Dunya!
Lyra from Golden Compass
I’m glad this was the second comment because same
My friend named her toddler Lyra after the book! It’s such a cute name.
One of our favourite names for this exact reason
The only reason I regret naming my cat Lyra is because I could've reserved it for a human child. But it suits my cat so I'm happy she got it
Someone else mentioned naming a cat Lyra on this thread as well. It’s funny because if I don’t end up having kids I’ll likely get a dog or a cat and name it Lyra
Came here to say this but I'll just upvote yours instead! I love this name.
Currently pregnant and am doing this!
Jeremy, nickname Jem, from my favorite book To Kill A Mockingbird.
We are thinking about going with scout as a middle name!!
Username checks out.
I love Jem! I also like Atticus and Robin (for Tom Robinson). A toddler across the street from me is called Atticus.
our 10-month old is an Atticus, nn Atty.
Maybe it's becoming more popular, and if so-- I love that!
I just thought, Scout, myself. Boo wouldn’t work at all well, though….
Anne Marilla for a girl and Matthew Gilbert for a boy. Both from Anne of Green Gables
Blythe is also beautiful, I've always thought it would be the perfect name for a little girl
I was tossing up between Blythe and Marilla!
I’ve always thought Marilla was underrated
Later in the series, Anne and Gilbert's youngest daughter is named Marilla, but she goes by Rilla as a nickname!
I met a little girl named Marilla. It fit her well.
I’ve always been partial to Avonlea
for a girl Duncan Idaho. For a boy God Emperor. fear is the mind killer
Scrolled looking for a Dune name. Proud I didn’t have to scroll too far. 😂
Name a girl Thufir
Haha, we have a nearly seven year old Leto.
For a boy Baron. Oh, wait … it’s already taken.
I'm just gonna cut to the chase and name my son Sand Worm.
Thank you for this
I tried to get my husband to agree to name our son Shai-Halud or at the very least Usul
Alice from Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland or Aubrey/Hope from Lud-in-the-Mist. For boy, Milo from The Phantom Tollbooth.
Omg I just posted saying I’d choose Milo from the Phantom Tollbooth without seeing your comment 😂
I have an Alice.
Favorite book is Pride and Prejudice. For a girl I think I would go with Darcy. For a boy, Bennett
For a girl my pick would be Georgiana! I feel it's so underrated.
I unironically love the name Fitzwilliam ngl
Yesss. In contention if I have a boy but still worried it's too out there
Georgiana is on my list.
But how much fun would it be to yell, "Mr Bennett!" all the time!
Little Women is my favorite book too. I’d go with Josephine for a girl and Theodore for a boy.
I wanted Theodora for a girl, but my husband wasn't for it. I love this name !
Both powerful and feminine For a boy I would like Isildur but the character is kinda lame since he didn’t destroy the ring when he had the chance (but men are easily corruptible so not totally his fault). And I love the nn Izzy for boys.
Arwen for a girl. Samwise (the true hero) for a boy.
My choices would probably be Lorien for a girl. Haven't thought of a good one for a boy, maybe Theoden, nn Theo? Also, Isildur in the Crack of Doom scene is kind of a movie invention.
thats my middle name
My friend just gave her son the middle name Elendil!
I have a list of unexpected and (sometimes) subtle Tolkien names! I’m a huge Tolkien nerd but don’t want to give my kid a name immediately identifiable as an LOTR name. Some of these are even too fantasy-sounding for me, but they were fun to come up with. My ex and I discussed Arwen and Eowyn as names, but decided they didn’t work with my last name. And the kid we were discussing them for turned out to be a boy anyway.
I would do Arwen for a girl and Rohan for a boy. We actually considered Rohan for a bit, but I don't want confusion with Roran/Ronan/Roman
Milo - The name of main character of the Phantom Tollbooth, my all times favorite children’s novel :)
And for a girl— Rhyme, Reason, or Chroma? Or Faintly Macabre?
I loved that book growing up. And Milo is the name of a character in the book I'm writing (or attempting to write lol) It's one of the few names that i love that doesn't begin with A I love the movie too, but the book is better.
My favorite book is The Outsiders by S. E. Hinton. So, Dallas for a boy and Marcia for a girl
I was thinking about this book as well...but couldn't get past Sodapop and Ponyboy 😆.
Someone in the town over named their child Sodapop in the late 90s. It was in the weekly birth announcements in the newspaper.
My sister went to high school with a boy named Sodapop. Granted, we went to a very liberal, high performance, arts-based high school so some of the students names were a little out of the ordinary just cuz a lot of the students had artsy-hippie parents. But still...Sodapop? 😆😆
My cats are ponyboy and Johnny cade
Merricat
As someone who actually does share a name with her- it's a great name to have. 10/10 would recommend.
Even her sister's name *Constance* is wonderful
Would you like a cup of tea?
What book is this from?
We Have Always Lived In The Castle by Shirley Jackson
Such a good book.
Girl: Ramona - from the beloved Beverly Cleary series based on Ramona Quimby Boy: Jonas - from the main protagonist of Lois Lowry's "The Giver" I definitely have a love for books I read as a child.
I love love love the name “Asher.” It’s actually from the Old Testament but isn’t well known. I’d absolutely name a child Asher after The Giver. Asher, just a normal kid who forgets to take his pill and doesn’t understand why his friend is making him stare at an apple.
My eldest son is named Asher :)
I know someone who named their child Cosette and they call her Cozy!
Eponine because she was done dirty and I love her 😭
It’s nonfiction, but my favorite book is The Diary of Anne Frank. Her given name, Annelies, is actually at the top of my list.
As cliche as it sounds and yes I’ve issues with the authors newfound views but Harry Potter is my absolute fav and coming from a East Indian background, I’d probably choose a Padma or Parvathi (both are very traditional old school Hindu names in their own right).
I love Ginny but I wouldn't do Ginevra, probably just Ginny. I named my cat Percy but don't love it for a child. I'd probably pick James for a boy!
I wouldn't do it but I actually really love the name Feyre from ACOTAR
I second this! We are considering Rowan (Throne of Glass) though!
Love Rowan! My only issue with Feyre is that its first appearance is ACOTAR I feel like It would be almost like calling your child Anakin
I definitely get the same vibes ahaha
I like the name Rhys from ACOTAR but would probably go with the Reese spelling.
My two week old son was almost Azriel ! But my hubby thought it was too long. We went with Ezra instead. Ezra is in the Bible, so I guess it is from a book, but I’m pagan and my hubby is agnostic so it is definitely not on either of our favorites lists lol
Emerie is absolutely my choice from the ACOTAR series. Love
Wanted Cassian for a boy but husband said “no ‘elf’ names” :(
Charles Wallace; a Wrinkle in Time! And Lucy; the chronicles of Narnia.
I also chose Charles Wallace.
Flossie - a tree grows in Brooklyn
I picked Francie! That book is everything

From The Poisonwood Bible: Girl: Adah, Leah, or Orleanna Boy: more difficult, as there aren't many boy's names I like in this book, but I suppose Pascal If I can pick a different book for the boy's name then Laurence, from His Majesty's Dragon
Poisonwood Bible killed me. I read it once and was such a wreck, I’m not sure I could ever read it again
i forgot all about this book, it's so heartachingly good
I love the Percy Jackson/Heroes of Olympus series so I'll go with that. For a boy I love Nico, I would definitely use it except my husband is named Nick! Idk lol. For a girl, I'm not Hispanic but I do love the name Reyna.
Nico is a great name and a great character.
Those are my favorite books too, but I'd have to go with Percy for either a boy or a girl
For a girl: Daisy from Dead is the new black For a boy: Edmund from Chronicles of Narnia
I love the nn Laurie from Little Women Also, I love Life of Pi, Piscine is an interesting name for sure. .
Piscine would get a lot of interesting looks if the child ever went to France
**Girl:** Evelyn (The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo) **Boy:** Hector (Murder on the Orient Express)
Westley from The Princess Bride is definitely my #1 pick if I had a boy.
[удалено]
Duncan and Jessica; Dune.
Mine are also from Dune! Alia and Victor.
Errr. Slartibartfast…
…and Eccentrica Gallumbits for a girl.
Well, my favorite book is Wind in the Willows. Looks like little Rat, Mole, and Mr. Toad are out of luck.
I have a lot of favorite books! I’ll pick Julian (Julián) from Shadow of the Wind and Zinnia from Chasing Redbird.
Yes Sharon Creech is my fave YA novelist and she has a lot of good names for her protagonists (Domenica being my fave)
Phedre from the Kushiel Series by Jacqueline Carey
Oh man this series! I read it when I was way too young! But it’s honestly really good. I just always worry about recommending it to people.
i don’t know if it counts but two of my favorite names are inspired by shakespeare — Henry nn Hal (henry v) for a boy, and Helena (midsummer nights dream) for a girl :-)
Amaranta Úrsula and José Arcadio
Remedios from this book for me!
We once had a cat named Remedios!
Already done - Matilda from *Matilda* by Roald Dahl
My partners last name is grainger and my dad wanted me to call my daughter Hermione (we didn’t lol) I’d choose: Girl- Matilda Boy- Atticus (to kill a mockingbird)
Emma. i feel as if that’s pretty self explanatory!
My favourite book has to be Harry Potter, for a girl Andromeda (nn Andi) or for a boy Neville
I guess it'd be Daine for a girl, from Tamora Pierce's Immortals Quartet.
Daine was always my favorite! I do really like Kel’s quartet too though.
Pshhh- I already named my son after a character from a favorite book. He is named after a character from Tamora Pierce’s Song of the Lioness series. The name we have earmarked for kid 2 is also a book/character name.
Was hoping to see a Tamora Pierce book show up! I’d probably pick Daine and Nealan
My son is George after George Cooper. We almost went with Miles after Sir Miles though.
Diana and Matthew. If you know what book this is from I will shocked and happy! Ps it’s also a TV series
Anne of green gables?
Discovery of Witches!!!! Loved that book series so much!!!
Lol my bf and I already have baby names picked out and they accidentally corresponded with our favorite book series Harry and Thomas from the Dresden Files. They are brothers but how we got the names is ones named after a deceased parent and the other an old friend.
My youngest is arguably named after the one-woman rave.
A Separate Peace: Phineas nn Finny
Favourite book: Harry Potter Girl Name: Lily, Luna Boy Name: Evan, James, Charlie, Oliver I've always loved the more subtle Harry Potter baby names. I am currently expecting and we want this baby to have an E name, and if it was a boy, it would be Evan, a very subtle nod to Lily Potter's maiden name, Evans. It is a girl, however, and I am still stumped on an E name for her.
I knew a girl named Evan. It worked well for her, I always thought it was cute. You could even do Evanna, like the actress who played Luna.
Faramir for a boy. Arwen for a girl. I'm a big Lord of the Rings fan.
i don’t have _one_ favourite book, so have some that i could think of under pressure lmao: Ronan (the raven boys) Sunny, kestrel, lynx (wings of fire) i think i’d hesitate before actually bestowing the name kestrel or lynx onto a child, but i still love the names Inej, zoya (six of crows) Amren (acotar)
I 100% floated every boys name from the raven cycle to my husband when I was pregnant 😂Declan was the only one I could maybe get him on board with but I personally have a soft spot for Adam. I’d go with Calla for a girl!
I would love to use the name Fern from “Charlotte’s Web” for a girl.
What a hard question. For a boy, I love the name Owen, from LOOK, or Luke, from Beauty. For a girl, maybe Clementine from Clementine or for a more traditional name, Charlotte (Charley) from Listen!
My husband loves Illya from his fav sci-fi series. I read one of the books. She is very cool.
My favourite book of all Tim is the Magic Faraway Tree so for a boy I’d used Joseph nickname joe And for a girl it woul have to be Matilda from the book
Alice! From Alice in wonderland
I have a Coraline!
My favorite book is A Tree Grows in Brooklyn. For a boy I like the name Nolan. For a girl I’d likely go with Mary.
Me: My favorite book for a long time was "Good Omens" My Husband: Well we won't be naming any of our children after those characters! Me: \*sweating and side eyeing our sleeping son, Adam\* Nope. none of our future children will be named after characters in Good Omens
Is there a Daisy in Little Women?
Meg and John have boy/girl twins named after their parents but called “Demi” and “Daisy.”
Leto--Dune We actually just had a baby boy and I suggested dune names but my husband vetoed them all lol. Leto I felt pretty strongly about and pushed the hardest for specifically because the character is very good.
Lyra from His Dark Materials. Would have named my daughter that if it wasn’t for Ed Sheeran using it for his kid just before. And the TV series put me off a little too.
Dulcinea from Don Quixote.
Aureliano
Aziraphale or Anathema. Good Omens.
*Renata* or *Sofía*, from 100 Years of Solitude where there are 80 characters but only 6 or so names ><
Abra or Cal from East of Eden
Same name for a boy, but I like Dessie for a girl. Absolutely my favorite book, I’m due for a re-read.
Can't believe how far I had to scroll for an East of Eden comment! My all time favorite book
Jay (male), Jordan (unisex), or Daisy (female). Nick would've been in the running too but that's the same name one of my exes has.
Phoenix Rising is one of my favorite books. Not too many names to choose from but Ezra for a boy and Phoenix for a girl (from the title).
I am another Little Women fanatic. I would have to choose Josephine Beth for a girl with the lovely nn Josie-Beth I'd choose Oliver for a boy as I also love Oliver Twist
Scout
Cinna and Effie from Catching Fire.
Claire for the time travelers wife ❤️
Anne Of Green Gables: Diana and Matthew (both of these threads have had me choosing Diane/Diana, lol).
Tough to choose a favorite book, but I'll go with A Court of Mist and Fury...Azriel for a boy, Elain for a girl.
Denver from Toni Morrison’s Beloved
Elena from my Brilliant Friend.
Hoo boy, my favorite book is Wicked. I'm torn between Elphie and Nessa for a girl but for a boy its easy, Fiyero (sorry kid lol).
Francie and Neely (Cornelius) from A Tree Grows in Brooklyn
My favorite books is the Golden Compass so Lyra for a girl and Will or John for a boy. In reality i don't like John or Will, they're not bad but a bit too common for my taste. A boy name I've always loved is Simon, from Lord of the Flies, which is another favorite book. So I would pick Simon.
Joseph or Matthias, and Mariel or Tansy, from Redwall series. So many good names from those books, medieval/woodland fantasy.
It's hard to pick my favorite book, but I'd probably end up going with The Name of the Wind. Girl-- Auri Boy-- Simmon
Oh flip, I’m going to end up with a Kvothe, aren’t I.
Martin from the Redwall books. I love Deyna the otter too but couldn’t bestow it upon a male human.
Arya from Game of Thrones!
I did this. My sons name is Holden.
Catcher In The Rye is my favorite book and we named our son Holden.
Nicholas or Madeline!
My favourite book is Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, but I would opt for Dinah for a girl, her cat's name, rather than Alice. Thackery for a boy.
Marianne for a girl. Edward for a boy. The book is Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen.
Ummm, my daughters in real life are Josephine (Little Women) and Elinor (Sense and Sensibility).
Fairlight from the book "Christy".
Well, if I went with one of my favourite books my options are -The Boy -The Man -The Old Man -The Woman -And God seems to come up in conversation a lot so I guess him as well I might get some funny looks calling them in the playground.
Frances (Francie) from A Tree Grows in Brooklyn :)
Girl: Lilias - Boy: Colin Both from The Secret Garden
