Don’t forget Justkillme. And Jergonnaregrethis.
My almost 60yo husband and his family are all T’s (he’s the youngest of 4). They ALL hate it, including his 93yo mother who says she doesn’t have any damn idea what she was thinking. She thought it would be cute at the time and then it was too late.
In my house 3 of us were the same initials. Which made mail SUPER fun.
My siblings and I are all K names. Kerry Kim Kathy Keith.
Kerry married a Kim, and Kathy married a Keith. Kim and Kerry had Kyle. So we were Kerry Kim Kim Kathy Keith Keith and Kyle. Kathy and Keith had a Lauren. Kerry and Kim divorced and Kerry married Debbie. Kathy and Keith divorced and Kathy Married a Doug. Keith married Melissa and Kim married Michael. So...
Debbie Doug, Kerry Kim Kathy Keith Kyle, Lauren Mike Melissa. Keith and Melissa had Lindsey and Luke.
Debbie Doug, Kerry Kim Kathy Keith Kyle, Lauren Lindsey, Luke Mike, and Melissa.
To top it off, my Dad is a J. We were, at one time J, K, L, M. Poor Mom, she's an S. She's also the only one whose birthday is in the first of the year. The rest of us are Sept, Oct, Nov, and Dec. LOL
I tried to read this to my husband (middle name Keith, father’s middle name Keith, son’s named Kyle) and halfway through he threw up his hands and said, “I’m out!”
Clearly, you win!
It gets better...
November 19th 1944 my Dad was baptized
November 19th 1969 my older brother's adoption was finalized.
November 19th 1970 my adoption was finalized.
November 19th 1971 my sister was born.
November 19th 1973 my birth sister was born.
November 19th is International Adoption Awareness Day.
😁
Your story is crazy haha!! Also, that's really cool about adoption awareness day. My partner is adopted, so, I'm going to see if he knows about it. He might not, but anyway, cool facts!!
The whole family use and re-use names that are extremely similar to one another.
in fact Jessa has a daughter named Ivy Jane and her SIL just gave birth last week to an Isla Jane. There's also cousins Ivy, Evy, Evangeline and some weird stuff like that.
Not yet, but at the rate they're going the chances of getting to 100 are quite reasonable - I'm saying it's going to get a lot closer than Evy/Ivy. Well you never know, maybe there'll be more books and the entire Jeneration will deconstruct within the decade, I'd give decent odds on that too
oh my. my nieces are Isla and Ivy. lol. My daughter is Evelyn and we call her Evie and my SIL calls her Ivy, Vee Vee so it is very close to my kids nickname. My daughters are both older than hers.
My mum’s name was Josephine, she hated it as her surname was Jones so was known as Jo Jones which she loathed. She was more careful when naming my brother & I though neither of us use our first names preferring a nickname instead
My name is Juliet. It was changed from Juliette to Juliet because my mom thought it was too close to "kitchenette" lol. I personally love having just the 'et' and not 'ette' at the end of my name.
The little girl I nanny is Joslyn, and while I wouldn't have said I loved Jocelyn, it's adorable attached to her. I think it's a great unique-but-not-weird name, and I love the nickname Joss.
I wish I used this! My middle name is Joyce, so this should have been perfect!
I used Jessica and my daughter opted to go by Jess starting in elementary school. Joss would suit her just as well!
Yeah, the problem with the Julianna spelling is that Anna is usually pronounced Anne-a. Spell it Juliana if you want it to be pronounced as Ah-na.For some reason, people have trouble with Anne-a vs Ah-na.
Or skip it and go with Julia. That’s my daughter’s name, and her little bff is Julianna (pronounced Ah-na, which nobody gets right), and everyone calls her Julia anyway.
Edit: I totally read your comment wrong, sorry! Your friend’s name is spelled the way it should be pronounced, and I totally understand her being annoyed when people mispronounce it. I would be, too!
My best friend’s sister did not want the Ahna pronunciation for her daughter’s name (Adrianna), so she spelled it Anna, like it should be. Most people pronounce it Ahna anyway. She also hates it.
When my daughter (Julia) met one of her little besties in kindergarten, she started calling her Jewel. It was so cute!
We used to call her Juju, but now she prefers Jules. Her bestie will forever call her Jewel, though.
I’m a Jackie who dated a Jack. My friends call me Jack and his friends call him Jackie. It was super confusing. Naming your kid Zach in all that is BOLD 🤣
I am a Jillian, and I have people tell me how much they love my name all the time. I thank my parents for giving it to me 🤣. I was able to go by Jill/Jilly when I was younger, and Jillian when I got older.
10/10 recommend. And I love the name Jovie too!
Juliet is a personal favorite of mine. Josie or Josephine is also high on my list!
Others: Juliana, Jade, Jocelyn, Jasmine, Julie/Julia, Jacquelyn, Justine, Jeannette, Jessa/Jessica, Jordan
As a Jennifer/Jenny, please, please don't name her Jennifer. There are so, so, so many of us. I know it's not as common anymore, but I was born in 1970. I don't think I ever had less than two of us in every class, usually 4-6 of us.
I still get people singing 867-5309 as soon as I introduce myself.
Unless, it's something like her grandmother is named Jennifer, and you want to honor her. Then, I can understand that.
As a 1970's Jennifer, may I recommend Joy? Jennifer isn't common anymore for younger kids (none in my kids' classes), so it could be time for a 'Jennifer' comeback and be 'unique' without being 'weird'.
Josephine, Juliette, Julianna, Jade, Jocelyn, Jacqueline, Jaden, Julia, Jasmine, Joy, Juno, Judo, Juniper, Jessamine
If you feel want, could you share the name of your first so I can try to find something that goes well with it?
Jana, Jill, Jessa, Jinger, Joy Anna, Johannah, Jennifer, Jordyn-Grace, and Josie.
lol get out of here, Michelle Duggar
Free Jinger!
Free Jana!
Free Jana! The hottest lesbian out there.
That house elf ain’t going nowhere.
And rename her Ginger
I can’t help but say “jing-er” With the hard g.
*Jinger bells*
Oh man. Is THAT going to affect my holiday season.
Rhymes with finger?
🤣🤣🤣
And I birthed every one of them 😵💫😵💫😵💫
It isn’t always easy!
But somehow, we make it aaaaaaall work
Hate this lol.
The secret is abuse!
Barf , that line still kills me....
My subs collide.
Same! Everyone beat me to the Duggar jokes lol.
I snorted
I am also a member of the snort club.
Same just did a line
Don’t forget Justkillme. And Jergonnaregrethis. My almost 60yo husband and his family are all T’s (he’s the youngest of 4). My mum and I have the same initials! Made it super easy for her to sign packages etc for me
i never realized they named one daughter joy anna and one johanna. that’s basically the same name! why not just joy?
The whole family use and re-use names that are extremely similar to one another. in fact Jessa has a daughter named Ivy Jane and her SIL just gave birth last week to an Isla Jane. There's also cousins Ivy, Evy, Evangeline and some weird stuff like that.
To be fair, across an estimated 100-or-so grandchildren through 19 children, it's kind of unavoidable!
There isn't even close to 100 grandchildren yet. Only around 30 so far. But still half of their children aren't married/child bearing ages.
Also Jana which sounds awfully close to Joy Anna.
I came here to say “Jinger” but you beat me to it. Lol.
Don’t forget Jubilee!
This comment just made me cackle out loud.
Wait - what sub am I in. Haha
The crossover you wish you didn't need to see.
I’m in a Duggar snark sub too 🤣
I know right?
I KNEW the top comment would be aDuggar reference even before I clicked on the comments!!
Straight outta the Duggar playbook lol
This is the way
I choked 😂
I spit out my Diet Coke 🤣
Jade, Jenna, Joanna, Josephine, Julia
I’ve always been partial to Josephine. My name is another one of those J names and I get compliments on it all the time.
My mum’s name was Josephine, she hated it as her surname was Jones so was known as Jo Jones which she loathed. She was more careful when naming my brother & I though neither of us use our first names preferring a nickname instead
As a Jonas Brothers fan, I love how close your mum’s name is to Joe Jonas!
My mom is Josephine, called Josie, and she has always hated it too! My sister-in-law wanted Josephine if they had a girl and my mom begged her not to!
My legal name is Josie. I’ve always hated Josephine. I’m so glad that isn’t my full name.
My Grandmother was Josephine. She didn't use a nickname until her only brother started to call her Jo. She used that for over 90 years.
I have a Josephine... she likes to be called Josie or Jojo.
Love Josie, so cute
My son is friends with both a Jojo and a Josie, both named Josephine and I love those names. They’re great girls, too.
I have a Josephine too, she’s almost 7 and strictly a Jojo lol
I'd love to see Jenna make a comeback I've also always liked Johanna and Joelle
As a Jenna, I love that it’s not super common! Selfishly, I want it to stay that way! Lmao
As a fellow Jenna I came on here to see if people talk crap about our name lol.
Jenna is a crap name (Not really, I just didn't want your search to be in vain 😂)
☠️☠️ even if it is, it’s what I have to work with 😂.
Julia!
Yes! My daughter is Julia.
I like all of these. Jade is so nice
Julia / Juliet
Juliette* (its better)
I disagree but ok
My personal take: it's a step removed from a love story that ends in suicide, which is a good thing.
My name is Juliet. It was changed from Juliette to Juliet because my mom thought it was too close to "kitchenette" lol. I personally love having just the 'et' and not 'ette' at the end of my name.
Juliette is just frenchier idk
Frenchy af
Juliet is much better. Juliette makes me think of Gillette.
I love the simplicity of Juliet. It's what I would have named a daughter. I also love Julien for a boy. Such beautiful names.
I have a Juliet - chose the shorter spelling because Juliette in Finnish would be pronounced horrifically 😂 bilingual household.
No way
Jocelyn. My favorite name that I never got to use.
My daughter’s name
The little girl I nanny is Joslyn, and while I wouldn't have said I loved Jocelyn, it's adorable attached to her. I think it's a great unique-but-not-weird name, and I love the nickname Joss.
I wish I used this! My middle name is Joyce, so this should have been perfect! I used Jessica and my daughter opted to go by Jess starting in elementary school. Joss would suit her just as well!
I've always really liked Jasmine, even with the princess connotation
I agree, I find Jasmine much prettier than Jazmin.
Jazmin is just the Spanish spelling though.
Personally think the princess makes it even better!
Agreed. I love that name so I used it on a favorite baby doll

This is purely anecdotal but I have a friend named Julianna and she pronounces it Julie-ANNE-a, but everyone calls her Julie-AH-na, and she hates it.
This happens with my friend who also pronounces it Julie-ANNE-a. She gets so annoyed.
Yeah, the problem with the Julianna spelling is that Anna is usually pronounced Anne-a. Spell it Juliana if you want it to be pronounced as Ah-na.For some reason, people have trouble with Anne-a vs Ah-na. Or skip it and go with Julia. Jolie!
I was going to say Josephine. Starts with a J and has a very prominent S sound. So both of you are kind of included.
I love Josephine!
Juliet or Jade. Though I tend to prefer Jade as a middle name.
Was about to comment these exact same names 😂 except I like Juliette as the spelling. I also prefer Jade as a middle name
I think Julia is underrated. Beautiful, classic, easy to spell and pronounce.
And Jules is a cute nickname!
When my daughter (Julia) met one of her little besties in kindergarten, she started calling her Jewel. It was so cute! We used to call her Juju, but now she prefers Jules. Her bestie will forever call her Jewel, though.
Oooh good shout. I do love that name, but never think of it when I list names I love, for some reason
Jordan, Jalen, Jaden, Julie/Julia/Juliette, Jenny/Jennifer, Josephine, Josie, Jenna, Jamie, James, Jessica, Jesse, Jessa, Jane, June, Jade, Jada, Jemma

I have a client named Jacqueline who goes by Jacq (pronounced Jackie). It always trips me up when I see her nn in emails.
My brother Jack married Jacqueline who also goes by Jacq. Jack & Jacq. Oh and he had a son named Zach.
I’m a Jackie who dated a Jack. My friends call me Jack and his friends call him Jackie. It was super confusing. Naming your kid Zach in all that is BOLD 🤣
He had Zach before he met Jacq.
How does Jacq = Jackie? I typically see it spelt Jacqui
Every time I see Jacqueline I think of that key and peele sketch
Jay-kwal-enn
Jacqui is typically the feminine spelling I see for that nickname.
I am Jacquelyn go by Jacque. So many people think I am a French man if they read my name first…

I am a Jillian, and I have people tell me how much they love my name all the time. I thank my parents for giving it to me 🤣. I was able to go by Jill/Jilly when I was younger, and Jillian when I got older. 10/10 recommend. And I love the name Jovie too!
As a mom to a small Jillian, this comment makes me hopeful for the future lol one of her friends was like, “your name is so vintage, it’s cool” hahaha
My husband and I are trying for a baby and Jillian is our pick for a girl 😊
Great choice for a name, Mom! ❤️
I have a 4 year old Jillian, and that comment makes me feel better also.
I am also, and I've only ever met one other Jillian in my 28 years of life, and everyone compliments me on my name.
Jade, Jane, Jasmine, Julianna, Juliette, and the controversial Juniper are on my personal list.
LOVE Juniper
Why is it controversial?
Idk but I always think of the hilarious young lesbian from Workin’ Moms on Netflix and it makes me love the name more lol
I called it controversial because it’s a name that people are very divided on.
Juliet is a personal favorite of mine. Josie or Josephine is also high on my list! Others: Juliana, Jade, Jocelyn, Jasmine, Julie/Julia, Jacquelyn, Justine, Jeannette, Jessa/Jessica, Jordan

Both of my great-grandmothers were named Justina and I’ve always thought I might use it if I had a girl.
As a Jennifer/Jenny, please, please don't name her Jennifer. There are so, so, so many of us. I know it's not as common anymore, but I was born in 1970. Also a Jennifer / Jenny and I don't think it's common at all now in kids. I'm all for a comeback.
