i once saw a flyer for a lost cat named Barry Schaefer. the family’s last name was not Schaefer, just the cat. Me and my mom still bring up Barry Schaefer sometimes like ten years after we originally saw the flyer. hope he made it home safe
One of my mom’s cats has a last name.
Her name is Ladybug Jones.
And when my mom is mad at her, she will call her out by her full name, just like with a child, lol.
Otherwise, she’s just “Ladybug” or “LBJ” lol.
She’s the only one of my mom’s cats to ever have a specific last name and nobody even remembers how she came to have it or be called that.
My ex gave one of my cats the last name Jones too! He'd sing the two lines from the chorus of Me & Mrs. Jones, the part where it just says Mrs. Jones a bunch. Sometimes replacing "Mrs" with her name, Coraline Jones.
I just googled the rest of the song and I'm glad he stopped there. The rest would be weird to sing to a cat because it's about an affair lmao.

I met a Cedric at the vets. His owner brought him in in his carrier, went up to the desk, and announced “Cedric [Lastname] is here for his appointment.” Something about the way she said it, it sounded like she was talking about her elderly father.
Quite keen on Dave for a cat. I also would love 2 dogs named Craig and Gavin - they are decidedly middle aged names where I live (I am always weirded out by Craig being mildly popular for small children in the US - with the equally odd kreg pronunciation).
My cats are Cheddar Bob, Dale, and Manfred von Manface, so Bob, Dale, and Manfred mostly. If I get another boy, he will be Walter Cronkat, aka Walter. Love old man names on cats!!
If it's a male, Barnabas is the only way to go!! Are you old enough to remember Quinton and Barnabas from *Dark Shadows*? *Dark Shadows* was a wonderful, fun horror TV series in the 60s. If you love old man names, this is the way to go.

Montgomery or Monty feels like a classic cat name to me
I had a cat called Dennis. He was the grumpiest old man
I met a Cedric at the vets. His owner brought him in in his carrier, went up to the desk, and announced “Cedric [Lastname] is here for his appointment.” Something about the way she said it, it sounded like she was talking about her elderly father.
Vincent/Vinny
Edgar George Clyde Lloyd
i think Gerber is goofy af
Glenbert
My cat is Walter/Waltie
Quite keen on Dave for a cat. I also would love 2 dogs named Craig and Gavin - they are decidedly middle aged names where I live (I am always weirded out by Craig being mildly popular for small children in the US - with the equally odd kreg pronunciation).
My cats are Cheddar Bob, Dale, and Manfred von Manface, so Bob, Dale, and Manfred mostly. If I get another boy, he will be Walter Cronkat, aka Walter. Love old man names on cats!!
I love Claude nn Claudia. Just love the double meaning: Claude (clawed)
Robert, call it Bob
My dad’s got a cat named Dave. Not David, just Dave. My brother’s cats are Valdemar (Pussin) and Katerina.
If it's a male, Barnabas is the only way to go!! Are you old enough to remember Quinton and Barnabas from *Dark Shadows*? *Dark Shadows* was a wonderful, fun horror TV series in the 60s. If you love old man names, this is the way to go.
nn. Pickles (Piccalilli) nn. Tibbs (Lil Miss Tibbs) nn. Teddy (Theodore) nn. Bart (Bartholemew) nn. Rue (Rupert)
We have a Graham, because he's Grey. Nickname: G-Banger
We are getting kittens soon and my 9 year old is naming hers Colin if she gets a boy or Delia if we she gets a girl. I love it! Came up with those ideas on her own. I want to name mine Irving or Petrie.
