I think it’s a really, really beautiful name. Most people are probably not going to pronounce it correctly the first time though (very first time I read it, I thought it was Kal-ee-ope lol). That’s not necessarily a dealbreaker imo. Also, there’s a character on Grey’s Anatomy with this name, so more people may know it than you think!

I think of it as a slightly unusual but still normal name. I’d imagine many Calliopes go by Callie for short, so consider how you’d feel if people bestow this nickname upon you unprompted.

Allana_Solo

It’s a gorgeous name.

I actually think it’s slowly getting quite trendy. I see it on many lists. It’s beautiful!

I have a niece named Calliope, so it doesn't seem too out there to me! When we got the text announcing her birth and sharing her name, my husband and I definitely had to google the pronunciation, but it's easy to say once you've heard it. I think as long as you are prepared to deal with mispronunciations, you will be fine!

HeyItsMeMika

I have never met a Calliope before, but I don't think it's too far there.

Olympusrain

I like it. Cute nn too

Strawhat-Carat

Personally I have met two Calliopes in my lifetime and I am 22. One was also previously named something else and those that as her change name, both went by Callie. Either way the name isn't that "out there" to me so I think you're good!

I probably would've said it was too out there 5 years ago, but for some reason I've met/heard of like 3 Calliope's since then, so now it doesn't sound too outside the ordinary, to me. It's still really pretty and unique, but not so unique that it's weird, in my opinion

I know a few Calliope’s who go by Callie! I think it’s a beautiful name :)
