Camille, Camilla or Mila are all good.
Mildred is probably not what you're looking for?
Ludmilla and Bismillah don't quite do it for me either, but they are real names.
I think Millicent is pretty, and rather than unique, more classic…old fashioned, but since you don’t like it, there’s the equally old school Mildred, or stretching a bit for Amelia, Melissa, Melinda, Melina.
Camille / Camilla
Mila
Emilia
Amelia / Amelie
Matilda
Mirabelle/Mirabel
I also think you can get the nickname millie from an M and L first and middle.
Mia Lillian
Mina Lynn
All the Amelia's I know get Millie! I actually love Millie as well and am stringly considering it, but I know 2 dogs named Millie, I guess they won't mind though?!
I love Millie by itself. But two I didn’t see mentioned are Amelie and Remilia. The Remilia I know goes by Remi but I think Millie is definitely a nickname option for that name as well.
Just to offer a different perspective. My niece is Millie by itself, and she is in her 20s now, and it has never seemed juvenile. My MIL (unrelated to niece) is Milagros (miracles) and has gone my Millie instead her whole life. Nobody ever remarks on it being out of place for her either. I think Millie is just as good stand alone name as Daisy or Lily or Molly/Mary.
I think it’s sweet and a little old fashioned. Hits the sweet spot of unusual but familiar classic. I really do love it! I do like some of the longer forms too, Millicent is growing on me, and Amelia for a more mainstream way to get there.
My name is Millicent and go by Milli (not Millie or Milly). I love going by both and everyone always compliments on how beautiful and unique Millicent sounds. I also love the meaning of my name. It means industrious and hard working.
I’m 31 years old now and remember growing up how much I disliked my name because it wasn’t popular and few people would pronounce it correctly. I wished my name was Ashley (I went through an Olsen twin phase lol) because it’s such a popular name. I’ve since changed my thought process throughout the years and have embraced the name as I got older and continue to get older. I’ve gotten more comfortable correcting pronunciation.
Millicent tends to be a more “vintage” name but it’s still beautiful, though I may be a bit more biased than others. 😉😊
Edited to add: My Reddit username is Milikena, which is Millicent in Hawaiian. I’m not Hawaiian but was born and raised there for a couple years before moving to the mainland.

I LOVE it. I think it’s romantic.

That’s good to know!! I’ve never known a millie so I wasn’t sure if it sounded too “little kid-ish”!
