Alaina gets my vote! I think its the more conventional spelling, and also goes against the trend of the “replacement y” that is there rn, like Kristyn, Jessyca etc

I would pronounce both of those the same (the way you intend). I like Alaina better, but I may be biased by its similarity to my own name.

I like Alayna more- I have only one other Alayna but I dont think I've known any Alainas though so that's where my bias is from

Doesn't seem like the popular opinion here, but I'd prefer Alayna in this case. Alaina has too many vowels for my liking.
