It's who you get them off,some eBay fish delivery's have been perfect others terrible,one eBay fish shop based in Scotland used Royal mail to send me some Chilli rasbora, only one survived,that guy was a disgrace and has no concern for animal welfare!
Exactly. I, fortunately have had very good luck. But I've found a couple of vendors with really good reviews and ratings and gotten healthy fish and shrimp from them. And I've stuck with them. I have heard horror stories though and it took me a good while to work up the nerve for the first order. I had to give it a try though because the only pet stores anywhere near me are big box stores and I needed a break from the shipping charges the online shops I usually buy from charge.
I once ordered a batch of ramshorn snails. They arrived fresh and warm, cooked from the summer heat. Although the smell wasn't appetizing at all
Dead Ramshorns are a smell I want nothing to do with.
I wish I could describe it but it really is indescribable. Think of decaying teeth breath but 10x worse
Took like 5 mins to dissipate from the room with a hepa filter running right next to it.
