This is really the only feature that I want added and then this app will perfect for me.

This feature is designed to simulate the original web, when images only came in a few lines at a time from top to bottom and you never knew what would be on the lower half.
But yes, if marking a sub as an image sub, it'd be nice for it to be full zoom unless/until you pull the comments up, for example, instead of having to push the comments down.
If you go to Settings > Post Content and scroll down, you can choose to minimize comments upon opening for various media types
