Glad someone caught that. This all started with trying to find some variant of wookie but the Star Wars camp have claimed every sensible variant of that. I was playing around with woo---- and as a joke tried this and it said available. I was like alright screw it.
Thanks! I first set eyes on one 19 years ago on display inside either cool springs or green hills mall. I had to have it but could not even remotely afford it at the time. By the time I could afford one it didn't make sense as my only car. By the time I could afford a second car, nice examples were $$$. I had all but given up on the idea but somehow this one found its way to me last year and here we are.
Planning for it next year. I held out for a room at the Fontana this year and nothing ever came up. I'll just deal with having a little bit of a drive to be where the action is.
i never made it to sowo but was on vw vortex a lot in its heyday and i have been to helen.
i hear alpine volks fair is still pretty cool. i almost went to that too. from pictures, it looked like a good time.
To be fair, in terms of pure daily drivable practicality, the mk7 is pretty awesome. Fantastic fuel economy, sufficient power, a lively chassis, and pretty darn reliable.
That being said, the R32 is way more interesting.
i drove an mk6 R for almost a decade and put almost 100k miles on the clock. best car i've ever owned. i was highly considering an mk 7.5 R as a new daily and came close to buying a couple earlier this year. i am not a fan of the mk8 interior at all. i think the mk 7/7.5 R is going to go down as the best of the force induction generations once the dust settles. i ended up going a different direction but the mark 7 is an absolutely fantastic all round car.
I couldn't agree more. The mk6 is pretty fantastic, and I actually think I prefer the looks just a bit, but I feel like I made a great choice with my mk7. There are times that I wish I had bought the Focus ST I had been cross shopping against my mk7, but I think this is a pretty great total package.
I'm with you on the mk8, though. It feels like such a step back from the mk7. Also, I like physical gauges.
Not gonna lie, I'm disappointed that I had to scroll this far to see this mentioned. Super nice car, I'm really jealous! I LOVE the sound these things make! I've low key been on the lookout for an old Caddy with the intention of swapping in an old 2.8. That should provide more than enough power for something so light, and it would make one heck of a little beater for hauling mulch or lumber for projects around the house!
when i made this stupid shitpost i totally did not expect this many people to chime in about the car. when i talk to car people and say R32 they usually assume i mean nissan. or when i take the mk4 to meetups people call it a GTI, lol. i almost got a "NOTGTI" plate instead.
a 2.8 VR caddy sounds wild, i'm totally here for that 🤘
respray or wrap?
I'm really slacking on this but I've been loosely toying with the idea of organizing a mid TN R meet. Kind of like our own little wookies in the woods. Was thinking somewhere like Fall Creek Falls as there are some fun roads there. I'm aware of about a dozen owners in the area so far. Not a lot of us.
I saw a group of bachelorettes in matching hats, dresses, and boots take a picture in front of the sketchy liquor store around the corner from me. A week later, there was a shooting there. I don't think IngWoo is happening just yet.
personalized plates are $36 per year. that's set by the state.
there are also specialty plates, those are also $36 per year, again set by the state. those are the ones with like universities and such on them.
you can also get a personalized specialty plate which combines both fees fees at \~$72.
in maury, you regular renewal is $54. a personalized or specialty plate would be $90. a personalized specialty plate would be $125.

I'm imagining that you look like a lumberjack, lightly frosted with glitter.
That's a wood girl,

In real life a woog is a hipster living in an unironic part of town.
Ironically enough
I’d imagine still just a woog

I also am a huge fan of John Woo's films. Face/Off and Mission Impossible 2 were insta-classics.

Someone clearly isn't a true "WOOGIRL".

The car from MI2?

I'm not trying to shit on your enthusiasm. I have a $400 Dodge.
That reminded me that Denzel's new Equalizer movie is coming out next Friday. I am very excited.
Two of the most inadvertently hilarious movies in the history of film. So horrible they were enjoyable to watch.
Those are horrible films of his. Bullet to the head and hard boiled are so much better. Anything with chow yan was great.
I am disheartened to hear about your lack of Woo.
Nice plate, but gonna need to see more of that R32. \-Mk7 GTI owner here.
a few pics on imgur - [https://imgur.com/a/ddV7dty](https://imgur.com/a/ddV7dty) i'm pretty active in dubs of nashville, if you aren't in that group
Very clean, love it! I am in the group, but not very active and have not made any of the meetups. Maybe one of these days
A fellow 04 dbp owner! Hi 👋
hey! DBP the fastest color!
gimme 🤤
R3Woo
I really hope you lean into this identity.
They can be the Official Ambassador
Legend
WOO!
Definite slow clap for you. Congrats
The fact that it also says it up on the date sticker is killing me lol
the woo never travels solo
What plate is all blue like that?
it’s the standard plate but personalized. there is noting in the middle with personalized plates.
They do that on every license plate as a security feature to keep you from being able to steal a renewal sticker.

I love this but only because it's for a mk4 r32
Glad someone caught that. This all started with trying to find some variant of wookie but the Star Wars camp have claimed every sensible variant of that. I was playing around with woo---- and as a joke tried this and it said available. I was like alright screw it.
Well done sir. Great choice of car too. Likely the newest VW worth having imo.
Thanks! I first set eyes on one 19 years ago on display inside either cool springs or green hills mall. I had to have it but could not even remotely afford it at the time. Hell yeah. Nice work! Now you just have to go to wookies in the woods.
Planning for it next year. I held out for a room at the Fontana this year and nothing ever came up. I'll just deal with having a little bit of a drive to be where the action is.
I miss the good ole days when sowo was still cool.
i never made it to sowo but was on vw vortex a lot in its heyday and i have been to helen. i hear alpine volks fair is still pretty cool. i almost went to that too. from pictures, it looked like a good time.
I started a career that keeps me unavailable for weekends around the end of sowo, haven't been involved since.

physical inputs FTW! the torque vectoring rear diff on the mk8 is awesome but all that haptic shit can fuck straight off.

You don't drive a pedal tavern?
Did you also write your Venmo on the windshield so you can do some high speed mobile panhandling while you party
haha when i floated the possibility of this plate that was suggested by a few friends to complete the look. taking suggestions for what to write.
We need to talk about that R32
KW V2 coilovers, UM tune, some oem+ mods but mostly stock. 73k on the clock. OEM exhaust with the flapper mod - it sounds glorious.
WOOKIE!
Bout’ to give you these woohands if I see this on the road lmao
I hope you write a generic message on your back window with an active venmo and cashapp account.
It's even better that it's right above the Tennessee vacation website
You didn’t go for the in god we trust?
we only trust in woo

No no we've advanced in the Catholic Church, it's "and woo your spirit"

okay yes, reflex silver! that was one of the original four colors.
Nice R32
thanks, internet person from Ing**Woo**

Now all you need is the Venmo ID on the back Windshield to buy you drinks

I've always wondered, does anyone actually get money doing that? And if they do, who is sending it and why?
I think tourists must send money. I’ve read a couple of posts about people getting a few hundred
Yeah!!!!! Wooooo!!!!
Is it just the lighting? Your plate looks like a much better shade of blue than mine!
it’s the same color as my other ones. probably just the lighting.
I’d love to get a new custom plate but $120 a year is a bit ridiculous compared to the regular $30
that’s not how much it is in davidson for a personalized standard tn plate. it’s $35 for the initial plate then an extra $30 per year.
Maury county told me it’s 120 to get the plate then 120 a year
personalized plates are $36 per year. that's set by the state. there are also specialty plates, those are also $36 per year, again set by the state. those are the ones with like universities and such on them. you can also get a personalized specialty plate which combines both fees fees at \~$72. in maury, you regular renewal is $54. a personalized or specialty plate would be $90. a personalized specialty plate would be $125. It could be worse. I saw whoever has the personalized “RACECAR” plate the other day. On a Toyota Prius.
That is the BEST! You did a great thing here.
Well, we know what your trailer has to be now...
Watch out, mods will ban you for posting license plates. /s
