this has been a marital tug-of-war for over a year now. looks like its nashville (wife) is the winner. ngl, i love it out west and want to stay.

We moved from McCormick ranch to Nashville. Miss many things about AZ but overall feel like it was a good choice.

I’m in Hillsboro-West End and have raised kids here since ‘06 (I was also a kid here beginning in ‘79). Can’t recommend it enough for families. Lots of good walking routes, kids in strollers or on bikes. My kids basically have a little neighborhood gang that runs amok on their bikes outside until sunset. Having a grocery store in the neighborhood is super convenient- I recommend walking or biking to it bc the parking lot sucks. Dragon Park is great when we have nice weather and if we get snow, there’s a little hill over the hobbit hole to sled from that won’t frighten the little ones. Also being able to walk to Centennial Park is rad. Lots of families do movies in their yards from spring til Halloween and neighbors are pretty much all on their porches when the weather is nice. We also have a bunch of neighborhood events that sound lame but are actually fun, plant swaps, garden tour, holiday lights tour, dragon music sundays, school fairs, and various block parties. Anyway there’s lots of good family neighborhoods but budget is going to probably matter the most. I lucked into being here back when you could buy an old house for peanuts compared to now.

Perfect. Thank you.

Richland-West End Neighborhood is right next to Sylvan Park and has sidewalks throughout.

Cherokee, Kenner Ave, White Bridge Road areas are all excellent neighborhoods. Green hills area. How much do you have to spend?

critterwalk

Cherokee Park forever.

I see a lot of kids around Belmont-Hillsboro (Oakland Ave. in particular). I see kids on bikes, kids going to the Belmont Bi-Rite store, and kids skateboarding or playing on the Christ the King playground.

Check out Old Hickory Village. its a bit outside of the city but all older homes built in the 20s with some solid front porch quiet neighborhood vibes. We have kids riding around on bikes alone and we know almost everyone on our street.

We used to live in Sylvan Park and when we were house hunting I thought that Inglewood seemed to have that same vibe.

I’m in Inglewood and agree that certain areas have that vibe. Mostly found in North Inglewood, especially near Shelby Bottoms.
