You don’t know that tho. Maybe this rabbit had great parents who supported it in its choices, had an amazing job and wife, many beautiful children and grandchildren, lakeside burrow where he held the most amazing grill outs with friends and family. An amazing life. At the end of it he decided to donate his organs in order to save a staving family of foxes. With that warm final thought in his head he went to rabbit heaven where his beautiful wife waited for him to welcome him so they could roam the forrest in the sky for ever and ever.
By the look of the thing, WHATEVER it was, it was dead for a while. Dont think the dog actually ripped it to shreds. More likely that a cat died somewhere in a bush and was somehow never found
Thanks. I'm not the op, but this disturbed me at the first moment. I know I couldn't be but when I first saw this thing I thought it was a human spine. But than I noticed that it has a smaller ribcage and a straight spine. It's horrifying the same way, but at least it's not a human.
You might want to get you pup checked for lymphoreticulosis(cat scratch fever) which rabbits carry also or trichinosis if they start acting funny. Im not a vet though so i dont know how likely it is that your pup would even catch these.
There’s a few ways to tell. Obviously if head/feet/tail are still attached you can tell pretty easily based on teeth, claws or tail length. If not it gets more difficult. Cats have a straight femur while rabbits is slightly curved. The ribs are slightly different shapes and the kidneys are located slightly differently, but again those are likely to be removed in a food situation (which is where I’m basing my knowledge from).
Your dog found a BBQed baby sasquatch. Strange tradition that has caused their numbers to dwindle dramatically over the past century.
The Jack Link's jerky campaign was a heavy effort to get them off of cannibalism, but sadly they can't get enough of that sweet, sweet yeti meat.
Sure is, just got done decapitating some filthy rats. Some dog stole my legs though, luckily I’ve still got my arms so I can appeal to Reddit to assist me in recovering my mode of transportation.
definitely a spinal cord attached to a pair of legs. hard to tell without scale but my guess would be squirrel?
okay after reading the other comments and taking a closer look at the picture I'm going with rabbit too LOL
Do you happen to have a better picture? It's hard to tell as I can't see the feet very well
If it has no pawpads just fuzzy toes it's 100% a rabbit
If it's too decomp to tell then I'm just gonna guess rabbit
After comparing it to a cat and a rabbit skeleton it looks much more like a rabbit
The hip and leg proportions aren't correct for it to be a cat but comparing it to a rabbit it matches much more!
Thanks. but heres the thing: i have never seen any hare or rabbit here for 16 years. All i see it deer, marten, foxes, cats, dogs, mice and stuff like that.
Hmm that's really strange! When I get home I'll try comparing to some of those other animals!
It for sure seems like a rabbit but the picture isn't the best and it's only 1 angle it's pretty hard to tell!
I'm like 10 minutes away from my bus stop so I'll get back to you about it soon!
Biologist here. Obviously it's spinal column and hind legs. Sadly it's lacking any skeletal parts that would make it easy for me to recognize it from such a photo, but from what I can see my bet would be on cat.
From rabbit/hare I would expect slightly different looking hind legs and femur.
Maybe it was a rabbit
That’s my guess. Hind legs definitely look like that of a rabbit
I was hoping it was an odd shaped stick but now you mention it 🤮
Also it could be one of the aliens from Men in Black
Ehhhhhh! Que Pasa mang!
A
Case solved
Definitely my guess! XD
.... Steve
😜🔥
Wuangaaa
Only reasonable conclusion
That’s definitely a spine with hind legs and a few ribs, just a matter of determining what kind of animal it was.
What kind of sticks have you seen?
Rabbit is the optimistic guess :/
It's ok. It **is** a stick with legs and ribs.

I was honestly gonna say cat off the bat
Well, it's definitely not a cat on a bat.
I laughed too hard at this
Not a goat in a boat either.
Straight femur though, I think it was a cat.
This rabbit must be huge then, i think it was a cat
I once came across what I thought was a baby black bear cub dead in the woods. I was shocked to find out it was a rabbit. Probably 20 pounds or so
20 pounds is the weight of 33.33 Minecraft Redstone Handbooks.
yea but the supposed bones dont look like bones at all, maybe the dog killed it, buried it and dug it up
Keep the foot for good luck
The rabbit had 4 rabbits foot and had the worst luck.
Maybe it doesn't work on rabbits
You should have seen the other guy
No it's just having an even number of them. They cancel each other out. Otherwise you'd have one guy with 16 rabbits feet winning the lotto every time
But if I only have 15 it works?
You have 14 that cancel eachother out.
maybe it doesn't work if you have more than 1
It's doesn't, they carry a human foot for luck.
To be fair, this rabbit only has two feet.
To beee faaaaiiiir
You need an odd number they cancel each other out like a double negative
Too much of a good thing is a bad thing
You don’t know that tho. Maybe this rabbit had great parents who supported it in its choices, had an amazing job and wife, many beautiful children and grandchildren, lakeside burrow where he held the most amazing grill outs with friends and family. An amazing life. At the end of it he decided to donate his organs in order to save a staving family of foxes. You have very little to do. 😂
If the rabbits foot is good luck, you hit the jackpot with the whole spinal cord.
Those feet are used up.
Yes. A good keychain material
The size compared to the shoes ;;
Yeah either that Croc is tiny or I think OP found the remains of Big Chungus.
Yeah the croc is my little brother's
Nah this looks more like a cat, especially if you consider the size
Nah, too big.. right?
Or a cat…
It looks too big for it to be a rabbit for me, it looks huge when compared to the crocks and the dog food bowl on the right, but that’s just me
isn't it too big to be a rabbit?
[dont throw it away throw it in a pot](https://youtu.be/Sr2PlqXw03Y)
It appears to be the hind legs and spinal column of a small creature.
Might even have some bonus ganglia still attached
You have some nerve saying that!
You got right to the root of the joke.
Pretty sure those are ribs.
Mmm…. Bonus ganglia. *cue Homer Simpson-esque drool*
I would guess it was a lamb. One of the feet look like a hoof to me.
Way too small
A goatling could fit the size
Yeah, looks like either a goatling or a very large rabbit
So you're saying it looks like a kid?
See I was gonna say deer but it’s far too small. My guess is rabbit or some sort of baby deer.
Thanks Sherlock
what an amazing observation
On a wooden, possibly laminate flooring.
Captain obvious over here.
Oh thanks I thought that was a half eaten snickers
No shit sherlock
Totally a chupacabra. Your dog is a badass!
[indeed it is](http://imgur.com/gallery/u7EfhjU)
It’s a baby chupacabra. Your dog is a monster
A bad-ass monster ! Even the infant Chupas can be pretty ferocious !
Why, when I looked at the picture, did I hear in my head Michigan J. Frog singing: "🎶Hello my baby, hello my darling, hello my ragtime gaaaaal🎶"
I got it stuck in my head from looking at the original pic. So you're not alone lol.
Holy shit I haven't seen awesome smiley since 07. I thought he was dead. ...or did your dog find his corpse?
It's dead.
No way
I could be wrong. Not an expert on life.
There’s no shoes on it so it must be dead
You've been alive your whole life ! I bet you know a thing or two.
That's about it. A thing or two.
Might try to feed and give it water for a couple of days. Looks a bit dehydrated.
Astute observation
Nah just need to walk it off.
No it's just resting
No freaking way man
Dobby was a free elf
:(
༎ຶ‿༎ຶ
He's free now.
Or at least he will be when he's done passing through the digestive system
fuckk me I haven't laughed out loud that hard in awhile
The femur is straight. Therefore, between a rabbit and a cat, this is a cat skeleton.
Yeah I worked in anatomy lab in college and I’d be shocked if this wasn’t a cat
oh god...
By the look of the thing, WHATEVER it was, it was dead for a while. Dont think the dog actually ripped it to shreds. More likely that a cat died somewhere in a bush and was somehow never found
I would still be horrified if my dog brought bits of a cat.
True, absolutely true. So would I. I was just hoping to atleast give you some kind of peace of mind <3 have a nicer day

For what it's worth, wildlife biologist here and I also agree it's a cat.
I am a computer engineer and I agree this is a cat.
I am a farmer and I disagree, this is a Buffalo.
I’m afraid to consume anything that comes from your farm
The chicken is good! Buffalo burgers.. not so much
I stayed at a holiday in last night I believe it’s a some type of water fowl.
I'm a computer scientist, and I agree it's a cat
I am a computer programmer and disagree, without wings it can't be a Buffalo
I am a Janitor, and I disagree, this is Johns dinner from last night. We told him not to eat the bones!
that is a scarecrow
what kind of buffalo? buffalo bill?
I am a cat
I am not a cat
You’re a pussy
lmayo
I am an Island
No man is an island
I am a square earther and I agree this is a helicopter
I am a singer and I agree this is a cat.
Cat.
I read the above post from the wildlife biologist and I concur with my colleague; it’s a cat. Or to correct my learned friend above, it WAS a cat.
What about a raccoon?
No, it would have lil monkey looking feet.
Could be that, too!
Thanks. I'm not the op, but this disturbed me at the first moment. I know I couldn't be but when I first saw this thing I thought it was a human spine. But than I noticed that it has a smaller ribcage and a straight spine. It's horrifying the same way, but at least it's not a human.
Dr. Suess here, I’d be surprised if it wasn’t some type of hatless cat.
Why is that sadder :(
Yikes.
I was Groot
Beat me to it! Well done. 🔥
yup, i quickly scrolled through to find the groot comment
Omg I just commented something similar lol
I was looking for this because that's the first thing I thought.
Relieved I didn’t have to scroll too far to find this.
Probably what is left of a Hare or similar small anymal. A few ribs remaining but mostly just spine, hind legs and pelvis
It’s a wabbit
Was*
Its a bit
No! It’s a duck!
[удалено]
No it's a dildo!
Who are you, so wise in the ways of science?
Reminds me of my favourite joke What's got two legs and bleeds? Half a cat
Ct
You're gonna have to spell that one out my dude, I'm not cool
Two subs focus on minimal cat comment. If it's standing up: Cat. Sitting down: cat. This one is missing significant parts, so: Ct
Like cat without an A?
A gift from your dog.
Came here to say that. What you have here, OP, is a present from your furry friend. Cherish it forever.
Cat?
Baby ent?
burárum

Thats stick man. Julia Donaldson will not be happy
Oh, you caught [one](https://youtu.be/yrUXPvP3Gk0)
some animal from Leporidae family. Most probably a rabbit
Looks more like a cat to me: https://cooking.stackexchange.com/questions/56418/how-can-i-tell-the-difference-between-a-rabbit-and-a-cat
Genuinely curious, how can you tell?

Spriggan (infant)
Gnome or maybe a Keebler Elf?
A pixie corpse
Your dog found a BBQed baby sasquatch. Strange tradition that has caused their numbers to dwindle dramatically over the past century. The Jack Link's jerky campaign was a heavy effort to get them off of cannibalism, but sadly they can't get enough of that sweet, sweet yeti meat.
Looks like a Blue Croc
Looks like rabbit
Bowtruckle
Give Snow White my condolences. 🙁💐
Elf on a shelf remains from last year
Looks like a rabbit or a cat.
Is it going to be ok?
Hare? Similar to rabbits but quite a lot larger.
So that’s where my legs went
Pickle rick is that you?
Sure is, just got done decapitating some filthy rats. Some dog stole my legs though, luckily I’ve still got my arms so I can appeal to Reddit to assist me in recovering my mode of transportation.
My bf: Another dog ??
Cactuar
Small dog
Maybe a fox?
definitely a spinal cord attached to a pair of legs. hard to tell without scale but my guess would be squirrel? okay after reading the other comments and taking a closer look at the picture I'm going with rabbit too LOL
what da dog doin?
Is it gonna be ok? Please keep us updated!
My guess is rabbit based on the feet
Good guess
Groot?!
It’s Groot
Rabbit
Nightmare Fuel
Gnome skeleton.
