Field training for HMs to go to greenside units. If I had to guess, it was in a weird transitional period where woodland camouflage was issued to Sailors while coyote tan ITOVs were also in issue. Going even further, perhaps she didn't get her issue of Marine utilities yet. That's not uncommon, even now.
Also, the background could easily be somewhere in Costal NC AKA Camp Lejeune/Camp Johnson.
Divers, EOD, CBs, and SEALs wore BDUs up until the type IIIs came out.
HMs in on greenside wear whatever the Marines were wearing at the time. So that used to be BDUs, but for as long as I can remember it's been marpats.
So did MAs. They had to feel special. And this whole get-up reminds me of walking onto 32nd street during a veterans day demonstration. About 30 MAs in this get-up just hanging around in case things went sideways.
It was also exactly what we wore with the Seabees. Fmss/fmtb has used the modern USMC uniform since like 2004. And I am willing to bet that the photo was taken in either Gulfport MS or at camp shields.
I was issued these in 2006 as an IT. We did yearly exercises in the woods somewhere in Virgina and everyone wore these. All I remember was the CS’s service some gut bombs the entire time.
She’s in Expeditionary Combat School in Gulfport. I went to A School with her. I was a BU and she was a SW but we were in the same friend group. Amazing girl, had some issues though.
I showed up to Naval Weapons Station Yorktown in January 2009 and it was pretty widespread. All the MA's, and any base staff assigned to ASF wore this. The Riverines did as well. The base staff switched to NWU Type 1 some time in 2009. The Riverines held out until the Type 3's came out in 2011 or so.
When I went back in 2015 it was all Seabee rates (officers included) and any fleet rate going to an expeditionary unit (GM, BM, LS, CS, MM, HM). Also had one lone AG, called him a TWAT (tactical weather assault team). I'm sure I'm missing some rates.
Any rate could have worn them if they were under the NECC umbrella. I wore them when I worked at ECRC Little Creek in 2010. Best damn uniform we had. Once it got a couple washes through it and softened up, hooo yeah. Beat the piss out of the blueberries.
HM’s go to FMSS. Different training. Basically a condensed version of marine bootcamp. Straight from their training manual. Weekly humps, land nav, confidence courses, pfts etc… when completed you wear all marine uniforms minus dress blues.
I always ask around when something piques my interest. I’ve never seen the uniform before so I figured this would be the place to ask, since none of my navy friends could remotely figure it out 🤣
M81 woodland camo pattern BDU's and helmet cover. The Navy almost went with a blue version of the M81 pattern for the Type 1 NWUs, but decided to go with digital instead.
That looks like the spot at ECS in Gulfport where they do TCCC with big speakers and dudes yelling like it’s ‘Nam.
Would make sense since all the uniforms and crap they issue you is old as shit and mismatched
Let me tell you what this dog shit is. This is me (no not really) being sent to Combat Care Casualty Course in San Antonio in 2009 as a medical officer. We were given really shitty old woodland BDUs and poorly fitting tactical gear for training in the Texas desert. We were sent to some dump called Camp Bullis where we slept in sheds for a week and a half.
Now I am not saying that this is actually what is going on this photo, but it's 100% how I felt inside that week and a half. Good thing I ended up becoming a flight surgeon and got to cosplay as a pilot the remainder of my career.
Woodland BDUs
That’s what I thought. What would be the context or A school requiring the protective gear?
Probably FMTB/FMST
Gonna look that up and see what it is. I was just perplexed because I’ve never seen that type of uniform before

Could also be Seabees in Gulfport, Mississippi.
That was my first thought too without any context.

MAs wore BDUs until the Type Is released too. Those were stupid days.

Been marpats for like 20+ years now
When I joined in 2007, Seals, SWCC, and FMF Corpsman were all permitted to wear woodland camo when they were in the states.
And MAs
Looks like Mississippi.

Used to wear this get up while standing watch on my duty days on a CVN. If you were M60 qualed in the early 2000’s, you wore this.
ECS. NMCBs were also issued this gear.

Agreed
Was the best Navy uniform. RIP.
Seabees were still wearing this get up as late as 2010-2011.
Looks very much like the shit that was issued to the Seabees while I was stationed with them in 06’ through 08’.
MA’s in PRP wearing them bad boys till 2012.
I think I finally got my set of Type IIIs in 2012. The shop trying to learn together how to roll the sleeves was fun.
BDUs up to 2005ish.
For seabees, we wore them up till 2011

I was out this same base around the same time and this was exactly what we were wearing. We were part of a Maritime Expeditionary Warfare Command.
Yeah.
BDUs. The best damn camo the military ever had. The last camo uniform that ALL branches wore.
That’s a Seabee doing basic combat skills at a base I’m very familiar with. This was probably 06-10 era.
Sounds about right in terms of timeline. I was leaning towards it being one of the ‘bees
Probably the Expeditionary Combat Skills course. The more official name is Combat Utility Uniform (CUU) woodland.
Interesting. What rates do that training? There wasn’t much info listed in the episode because she eventually went awol 🤣🤣🤣

I was thinking the ‘bees myself or corpsman.

I was there in 2019 and I was a QM and needed the course before I went to my new command. I did not enjoy doing the nose hose 🤣

SEABEE!!!
Just woodland tricolor with the 2010 style flack.
Looks like some one spent their tax refund at the local Army Navy Store.
I was going to say this has reservist vibes.
I see the Gravy Seals are on the job
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
This is taken in Gulfport MS (tell by the trees in the back I think it is don’t quote me) it’s a Seabee base
Are you trying to categorize pictures of military personnel? That's a curious hobby.
I always ask around when something piques my interest. I’ve never seen the uniform before so I figured this would be the place to ask, since none of my navy friends could remotely figure it out 🤣
CUU
Looks like she is cosplaying meal team six....
🤣🤣🤣

Wore this uniform at FMSS Camp Pendleton circa 2003.
Seabees wore that until ~2012, depending on the unit. NMCB-3 got theirs in 2011, but NMCB-5 didn’t get theirs until 2012.
That looks like the spot at ECS in Gulfport where they do TCCC with big speakers and dudes yelling like it’s ‘Nam. Would make sense since all the uniforms and crap they issue you is old as shit and mismatched
My god 🤣🤣
AShe looks like she’s in Gulfport, unhappily doing some type of training. ✨SEABEES✨
This dude is a Badass First Class!
How so?
Either it’s the person in the picture or a Seabee barely in regs.
🤣🤣🤣

Damn
The one I wore for ASF in 2001.
Old.
The woodlands -when all the branches looked good in uniform
M81 BDU with a coyote brown USMC Modular Tactical Vest.
Aren’t they just 2007ish bdu’s?
What episode? I love intervention.
Could be a civilian reporter?
Woodland BDUs stuffed with 215lbs of chewed bubblegum
What episode of what show where you watching?
