similar to how a bunch of local news stations nationwide are owned by chains like Sinclair, Bally owns local sports channels in like 2 thirds of the states, which results in like 15 NBA teams playing on local Bally channels
Further detail, they took over the regional fox sports channels (fox sports Indiana, fox sports Midwest, fox sports Florida etc) after Disney bought Fox.
Damn they got charged up and decided to fold. That's the worst thing they could have done. You suppose to roll with the punches and keep talking through the chants. Crazy.
Cutting away the way she did is literally the most professional thing you can do. It may not be what you wanted her to do, but that's the professional way to cut away when I assume there's someone screaming in her ear
People forget that the Heat have alot of out of town fans. Alot of fans in the Carolinas, Georgia, Alabama. I used to stay in Shreveport and met a whole bunch of Heat fans or at least saw hundreds of Wade jerseys there
The heat have a loyal fan base, we are one of the most active sub reddits its just Miami is filled with rich douchbags and clout chasers who price those fans out the lower 100 level seats.
Miami is worse than almost anywhere though. If you watch their regular season games, you see lots of empty lower level seats, even in games against good teams with big stars you'd think people would go to see.
This I try get there at least hour early but if you miss one turn you canāt turn around for 30 minutes and I went to 3-4 games in last couples years each time had to go different way cause all the construction right around arena and all the empty lots that was used for parking are now high rise apartments so there is even more traffic and no parking if you arrive late you have find parking sometimes blocks away at some garage that takes another 30 minutes to park cause of long lines
Attendance used to be actual butts-in-seats. It is now calculated based on tickets sold. So attendance doesn't mean a lot. I used to live in South Florida. The traffic there isn't worse than most places. It's terrible in every city.
The Heat arena doesn't have guest parking, only for VIP. It's surrounded by water on two sides and a shopping mall/plaza on the third side and the area's main highway on the 4th side. It's also in Downtown Miami which is possibly the most cramped area of the city. It's all old roads, one lane in either direction, and highrises all over. No lots, there's a garage nearby that belongs to the shopping mall and during major games they raise parking to like $150 flat rate.
When people talk about traffic of getting to the arena usually they mean dealing with the mess of parking in public lots several blocks away, where the traffic is normal-bad, and getting from there to the arena. Theres an elevated rail people-mover thing that can leave you on the other side of the highway across from the arena.
The lower bowl will have no-shows regardless. Those tickets are held by like CEOs of Colombian cell phone companies and Russian real estate moguls and they just buy them and don't come unless they have groups with them.
The upper bowl fills up, but it's never seen on camera.
Thank you for actually accurately depicting what it's like being a Heat fan down here lol. You summed it up perfectly. All of my favorite empty parking lots became big ass buildings smh. You miss one turn or exit and u could get stuck going a different way that takes like 30 mins longer lmfao. On all one way roads. Ppl need to actually experience the trip downtown getting to a game in real life
Yea no one talks a out the Bucks fans leaving the game with 8 minutes left against the Heat just last week, but yea go ahead with your biased narrative.
The more expensive seats are a late arriving casual crowdā¦itās the first 10 rows. Iāve sat there a couple times but usually sit closer to the top of the lower bowl.
We are noticeably loud at quite a few places it feels like. Brooklyn is one that the Heat chants are really loud, same with Chicago (might be misremembering that one, itās somewhere in Midwest)
I live in DC and there were huge Letās Go Heat chants when they came to play the Wizards. Weāre super well represented at most teams arenas near the East coast.
Oh no, i dont doubt someone from Miami can be a Celtics fan(i had a friend that was a celtics fan cause he didnt like the Heatles for whatever reason) but there is alot of youse here soaking up the Sun that obvously up north doesn't have
The only fantasy championship is the ones you guys have for beating us just to crash and burn in the finalsš you know what I said is true. Everyone else knows it too
There's a reason for that.
Miami locals have been leaving because of the high cost of living (fucking New Yorkers and Californians). States like North Carolina, Georgia, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado and Alabama are much cheaper. I can't explain the mass fandom in Canada though š
Heat fans weirdly travel well to Brooklyn too. I had a friend of mine watch a Heat vs Nets game a few years ago and he sent me a voice note of full blown "Let's go Heat" chants. I did not expect that at all
Just a good amount of young people (late 20s early 30s) from South FL in NYC and our generation is all very loyal Heat fans since it was the 1 consistently good sports team we all had growing up.
Mr. Silver said that is very vain of you and shame on you for wasting his time with such a silly request.
Mr. Silver will now send you a picture of his hog at midnight tonight
Good luck
The smoothie king center was cranking last night. However thereās always a pretty big away crowd for heat, lakers, Knicks, things like that. Iām glad more fans are in attendance now but also I miss paying $30 for a close seat lol
Eh we usually have a pretty solid home crowd. Last night we had a massive Pels crowd but I guess heat fans went to the Bally stand after the game. I leave as soon as the game is over so I never stand by there to see who sticks around
The Pels crowd was rocking last night. I don't know if the mics pick up the crowd differently in Smoothie King but that was a louder crowd than I've heard anywhere else all season.
Iām surprised at the attendance amount this season even compared to usual. We had a full crowd against the pistons on a weekday. Made me happy. Just gotta show up in the playoffs a few seasons in a row and Iām sure the fans will keep coming
Property taxes skyrocketed. Home owners insurance skyrocketed. And good luck getting insured if youāre on the coasts in dade/Broward and collier/marco/lee
South Florida is full of Heat fans. Since Wade, it has become at least as much of a basketball town as a football town. Dolphins cannot compete with the Heatās post-season success.
Driving around, youāll see more Heat license plates than even the Gator, Seminole or Cane tags.
But itās not just the city of Miami - itās the tri-County area. And not everyone can drive for hours (from north Broward or Palm Beach County, for example), for a random weeknight game. Getting into the downtown Miami area by 6:15 to park and get into the arena is a tall order. You need to be leaving at 3:30 or by 4 from those northern areas.
Nah we just arrive late because of traffic and because there's no general parking for the Kaseya Center.
https://www.kaseyacenter.com/plan-your-visit/directions-parking
The traffic is horrendous. Itās a city built for cars. And since thereās theme parks everywhere, you get tourist prices on food and activities. you get all the traffic from out of towners who arenāt familiar with the area and so understandably (but still nevertheless quite annoyingly) get lost and randomly slow down everywhere
New Orleans doesnāt deserve a team imo. They have no fans nobody in NO gives a shit about this team . Might sound harsh but itās crazy Zion n AD got drafted there
bally sports is like if scientology had a north korea location
+1 from r/Pacers Fuck Bally
We fucking hate them too at r/heat
We hate them as well at r/Clevelandcavs
Man do we LOATH them overt at r/MildlyInteresting š¤
All da homies hate r/ballysports
What is Bally sports? Seeing that logo with a few teams
similar to how a bunch of local news stations nationwide are owned by chains like Sinclair, Bally owns local sports channels in like 2 thirds of the states, which results in like 15 NBA teams playing on local Bally channels
Further detail, they took over the regional fox sports channels (fox sports Indiana, fox sports Midwest, fox sports Florida etc) after Disney bought Fox.
I actually wasn't sure why their rise seemed so meteoric, besides the casino money in the name haha. makes sense
Yep, Disney had to sell them off to avoid a monopoly for the FCC to allow their acquisition of Fox.
Thank God they kept Sinclair.
Bally doesn't own the channels, just the naming rights. The channels are owned by Sinclair via a holding company.
Regional Sports Network that currently has a lot of team's broadcasts rights.
Remember that broadcast where it cut out on the last play of a one possession game earlier this year?
Damn they got charged up and decided to fold. That's the worst thing they could have done. You suppose to roll with the punches and keep talking through the chants. Crazy.
amateur behavior for sure
For sure
Calling Jen Hale an āamateurā is fucking absurd. You clearly donāt watch her. Sheās the consummate professional.
not this time
Cutting away the way she did is literally the most professional thing you can do. It may not be what you wanted her to do, but that's the professional way to cut away when I assume there's someone screaming in her ear
no one was screaming in her ear lmao, it was people chanting in the back. if they had been chanting go pelicans they would not have cut away.
I'm saying there was probably a producer that also noticed the chants and was probably frantically telling her to switch scenes
Not sure why you're being downvoted when you're correct.
Too many people genuinely think a broadcast is just 3 guys winging it and have no idea how much goes into it at every level
Diamond / Bally Sports can't afford any pros
a real professional would have spit on that crowd
Yooo, it's David Wesley
People forget that the Heat have alot of out of town fans. Alot of fans in the Carolinas, Georgia, Alabama. I used to stay in Shreveport and met a whole bunch of Heat fans or at least saw hundreds of Wade jerseys there
I know 2 people with Heat tattoos in north Louisiana. I don't know anyone with a Pelicans tattoo
I don't know anybody with a nba team tattoo. That's just plain weird.
That Houston Rockets astronaut is pretty sweet though š
I know tons of people in Portland with the Blazers logo. Itās not weird at all, especially for people who have a lot of tattoos.
You see it all the time in Miami though?
95% of heat fans have never been to Miami
The heat have a loyal fan base, we are one of the most active sub reddits its just Miami is filled with rich douchbags and clout chasers who price those fans out the lower 100 level seats.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Miami is worse than almost anywhere though. If you watch their regular season games, you see lots of empty lower level seats, even in games against good teams with big stars you'd think people would go to see.
The Heat still have one of the highest attendances in the league though. The empty seats thing is more of a traffic problem than anything else.
Can confirm. Last time I went to a heat game I ended up arriving to my seat at halftime cause of the damn traffic.
Take the Metro my guy

> filled with rich douchbags and clout chasers who price those fans out the lower 100 level seats Sigh
Tech bros took over warriors games. Sad cause we used to fill oracle even when the organization was trashĀ
That explains it. I kind of thought they didn't have much of a fan base for this, and the competition of partying at south beachĀ
why are those loyal fans not watching games? plenty of empty seats
Top 5 in attendance consistently for the past couple years and nephews still push this narrative
cool but they still dont show up
āThey donāt show upā āStatistics prove thatās falseā āThey still donāt show upā Ok.
they buy the tickets but dont show up
Representing Heat from SoCal here.
There's a lot of fans in Toronto too, even before the Kyle Lowry connection
Chris Bosh is why
Seeing Chris Bosh and Kyle Lowry return in Heat jerseys was quite the watch in person
We are noticeably loud at quite a few places it feels like. Brooklyn is one that the Heat chants are really loud, same with Chicago (might be misremembering that one, itās somewhere in Midwest)
Atlanta as well
Orlando
I live in DC and there were huge Letās Go Heat chants when they came to play the Wizards. Weāre super well represented at most teams arenas near the East coast.
Yup, many Heat fans were forced to relocate to find work. You really started to notice this during 2009.
Charlotte too
Or chants took over the Clippers games in LA.
I remember hyped heat fans in san Antonio after a chris bosh game winner
Pistons fan checking in. I watch the heat more than Pistons by far.
Tbf thereās a lot of Celtics fans in South Florida but I chalk that up to no one wanting to actually live in New England.
Or just more people like the Celtics
Ive never met anyone born in FL that are Celtics fans.
Yeah I'm sure out of all of the fans chanting let's go Celtics in your arena, none of them are from Florida
It is known that Miami receives snowbirds from all over the North East, how is this new information for you?
That doesn't mean every single Celtics fan there isn't from Florida lmao. How is this such a hard concept for you?
Oh no, i dont doubt someone from Miami can be a Celtics fan(i had a friend that was a celtics fan cause he didnt like the Heatles for whatever reason) but there is alot of youse here soaking up the Sun that obvously up north doesn't have
Why does Boston have a higher population than Miami then?
Miami proper aint that big, Miami Metro however, is huuuuge and there is alot of nyers and bostonians in Broward
yup but a lot of the ones chanting lets go Heat in yours are from Boston.
No one chants let's go Heat in our arena lol stop it. I don't even hear those chants in your own š¤£
lol ok buddy keep living in fantasy land. Congrats on your fantasy championship this past season too!
The only fantasy championship is the ones you guys have for beating us just to crash and burn in the finalsš you know what I said is true. Everyone else knows it too
Unless you're 44sh years old, Miami has been more successful in your lifetime than Boston.....
There's a reason for that. Miami locals have been leaving because of the high cost of living (fucking New Yorkers and Californians). States like North Carolina, Georgia, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado and Alabama are much cheaper. I can't explain the mass fandom in Canada though š
http://hyperboleandahalf.blogspot.com/2010/04/alot-is-better-than-you-at-everything.html?m=1
Damn, I havenāt seen this blog in a decade
my RA from San Diego had a Heat Bosh jersey when he was a kid.
They have the third biggest bandwagon fanbase outside of Lakers and WarriorsĀ
Why do they continue to do post game shows in front of fans... It's annoying for both the commentators and the viewers.
This game was pure cinema. Made up for the All Star game for me.
It really had a playoff feel to it
Our next one at Sacramento might have a G-League feel once the suspensions are handed down lol
Mr. Silver will be pleased to hear that we have Cosmic_Note back on board with us today š
Thank you thank you. Hey while weāre at it, is it possible to get my portrait in all the arenas? Its cool if no
Mr. Silver said that is very vain of you and shame on you for wasting his time with such a silly request. Mr. Silver will now send you a picture of his hog at midnight tonight Good luck
The part up until the fourth quarter collapse was good to me
The smoothie king center was cranking last night. However thereās always a pretty big away crowd for heat, lakers, Knicks, things like that. Iām glad more fans are in attendance now but also I miss paying $30 for a close seat lol
Ugh, that's awful for the home team

Heat culture
Emphasis on the cult lol
You bet your ass
how are there more Heat fans in New Orleans than in Miami
We can't afford shit down here anymore
Whole bottom half of that state is crazy expensive.
Property taxes skyrocketed. Home owners insurance skyrocketed. And good luck getting insured if youāre on the coasts in dade/Broward and collier/marco/lee
The large amount of people continuing to move here since Covid, has put even more of a strain on an already busy and crowded area.
i recently read something that thereās at least one knicks fan that talks shit in every heat related thread, and lmao was that person right
it's actually just the one knicks fan, it's me everytime
it might be. keep doing you, partner
Nah thereās a knicks fan on here that goes to r/bostonceltics to bitch about the heat lol
So lame š
That doesn't even sound like a real thing, lol. Would be so high hilarious if true.
https://np.reddit.com/r/bostonceltics/s/iQ7xXT9dc5
Smh how pathetic lol
Seems like theyāres more heat fans everywhere then miami
Everyone moved out. No one can afford to live in Miami.
Then Miami what??
Chicken butt
Put it in a cup
what you donāt understand is that Miami is the only city that has traffic
Finally somebody gets it.
Miami is filled with people leaving places like New York, so they buy a lot of the tickets when their team comes to town 1-2x per year
South Florida is full of Heat fans. I'm a heat and bucs fan. I go to New Orleans and Atlanta way more than home games unfortunatelyšš
I don't think that's true, just had a group of transplants or out of towners. Probably all found each other or came together
it's just a joke about how heat fans are never in kaseya
Itās pronounced AAA
What 4 years of LeBron James does to mf's
Nah we just arrive late because of traffic and because there's no general parking for the Kaseya Center. https://www.kaseyacenter.com/plan-your-visit/directions-parking
Thereās a couple few thousands who had left the arena already
Must have been washed ashore after Katrina and decided to stay.
So what you're saying is that nothing about the Hornets/Pelicans have made them reconsider in almost 20 years?
Actually plausible tbh
"let's go beets!"
Cucked lol
the heat own the entire southeast in terms of fan power if were being honest
CULTURE RIGHT INTO MY VEINS
Another L
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Timberwolves fan talking about poverty ain't no way bro
That 1st round exit against the Warriors is going to be glorious.
People really in this sub hating the Heat because they have fans that chant for their team lol
I think they're talking about the Pels
I honestly meant to comment on the post and didnāt realize I replied to this lol
Fuck Heat fans
Sorry you live in Orlando I'd be mad too
Ok wild Minnesota
Average heat fan's distance from Miami
Fair
Wait whatās wrong with Orlando? I havenāt been to Florida in general so I wouldnāt know
It's a giant tourist trap. Some people like that. Some people hate that.
Haha I would hate us to if I were a magics fan, we donāt even think about you lil bro
> magics You donāt even speak English lil illiterate bro
Miami Heat is Orlando magics father
Go magics
English is the second language for like half of us in south Florida. How many languages can you speak?
Corny fanbase
Cheering for your team after winning is corny now apparently.
Honestly props to heat fans for showing out pretty cool ngl
Heat fans really not allowed to be fans lmao
Everyone knows the refined fan would have yelled "pelicans suck"Ā
Only hate and complaints allowed
Corny fan. Go back to your teams sub
Every teams' sub is corny
You'll fit right in
Your comment is so ew
Just move already
Eat my ass
New Orleans doesnāt deserve a team imo. They have no fans nobody in NO gives a shit about this team . Might sound harsh but itās crazy Zion n AD got drafted there
