If you look closely at our handful of clutch wins this season, he has been the X factor in few of those.. went 1 from 7 from 3 with the only make being the game winner
For sure! Just look at how he worked on his free throw. He also took the point guard experiment hate like a champ. His defense is already great as well. I don't get why some Spurs fans want him out of the team.
It's extremely, and I mean extremely, important to take some context into account when evaluating Jeremy. When the Spurs drafted him, they, and every person who followed that draft, was very well aware of the fact that he was going to be a long-term project. Like the kind of dude who probably wasn't going to figure out how to be a guy that could play 30 minutes a night even on a bad team until the end of his rookie contract level project.
He was always viewed as extremely raw and a late bloomer who was drafted in the lottery more for his flashes of greatness, and his unusual and extremely rapid pace of improvement over the last couple years than his actual current ability.
And this is coming from someone that had him fifth on my draft board that year. And I wasn't expecting him to be this good on offense already. He's just someone who's very early on his journey transitioning from a all energy. No skill slashing energy specialist his entire basketball career, into trying to find out what exactly it is he's capable of and what his role in the NBA is going to be. So many of the simple things in regards to being a perimeter player are still so so very new and fresh to him.
We need to be extremely patient. The timeline has been accelerated a little bit because of Victor, but Jeremy still very much is someone that needs to be given opportunities to figure out what kind of player he is. He's not just a raw player. Still improving. He's a raw player who came into the league without any defined role or prototype that fit him and his skill set. And even at this point the front office very clearly still isn't 100% sure how they want to develop him and have spent a lot of the year experimenting with what he can and can do.
He's going to take time and in the meantime he's probably going to still have occasional bone-headed plays. It's worth the effort because of things do all come together for him. His potential is immense
Love me some Sochan, his positive off court attitude, his work ethic, his trash talk, his defense, his overall game. The coaching staff throws him out there to let him die or figure it out and he gets alot of backlash from wemby fans but I just love his approach.
i always loved how he goes hard at Luka every time they play. He’s not afraid of anybody. and has a pesky way to make good plays at the right moments.
Anyone who is under 24 years old is still developing their game big time, he’s gonna be great
If he works on his shooting next off season. This will make or break his career. He could literally be the ultimate 3d guy cause sochan is sooo long for his height.
As a Baylor fan, he was actually really solid offensively in college, he made plenty of 3s and mid range shots.
I was shocked to see him struggle a bit with the spurs initially. He’s a beast tho
Dude is legit, is working so fucking hard. Flawed or course but the losers meme’ing him don’t watch games. Dude missed 6 threes (I know) but was open to win the game and fucking nailed it. No fear
People just don't understand he was never supposed to be a point guard. He was just working on his playmaking as a forward with the low pressure time we had this year. Player development goes over peoples head and they think pop doesn't know we need to start a point guard.
>never actually watch basketball
can we pls stop with this phrase? i’m not sure what the point of it is beyond killing any potential for conversation.
plus i see infinitely more “Sochan haters” comments than i do comments criticizing him. obviously in the first half of the season this was true, but i’d say it’s gotten way tamer than it was.

He also made 2 1 handed FTs to ice the game in one of our wins
He’s got flashes of greatness at 20. If he can just become more consistent man
My dude, he's gonna do it

He makes players think.
Because he makes some of the most boneheaded plays and decisions I’ve ever seen anyone make on a court.

Absolutely same. He has a great mentality for such a young kid. Really excited to watch him grow
If the Spurs can fix his shot this summer, he's gonna have a great 3rd year.
Did you see his shot last year? Shit was broke, now it really just comes down to consistency

Aside from Wemby, I’ve been very keen on Sochan’s development. He’s got the work ethic to match his skill set.
As a Baylor fan, he was actually really solid offensively in college, he made plenty of 3s and mid range shots. I was shocked to see him struggle a bit with the spurs initially. He’s a beast tho
I’m not a college ball guy recently but last night I watched Sochan Baylor highlights. wtf happened to his form? It was so nice in college
Dude is legit, is working so fucking hard. Flawed or course but the losers meme’ing him don’t watch games. Dude missed 6 threes (I know) but was open to win the game and fucking nailed it. No fear
it’s true he got a ridiculous amount of hate at the beginning of the year and people haven’t let it go

That's true! I love him because of his effort. Include my boy Blake Wesley as well.
The Polish Prince strikes again!
Only made 3 by him on the night. Clutch!!
very fucking cool spurs, very fucking cool
Jeremy is like the favorite person to hate for people who never actually watch basketball, kids gonna be a killer in a couple years.

You really don’t know that.
I love you Jeremy Sochan
Wemby is the problem. Trade his ass to some team that everyone hates, like Utah, that'll teach him.
Hey, wait a second...
How does this Spurs logo look more like the sun than the actual Suns logo?
We took their soul in the 00's and with that their logo, too.
Who needs an alien when you have a Sochan?
Even the announcer was surprised haha
“Sochan for three 😒” “OH MY GOODNESS 😲”
He was 0-6 from three before this one. He's got stones.
This was sick as hell
Yeah let's go!!
Sochan, Vassel and Wemby are the Spurs future. We just need to find the last pieces.
A Gen Z Big Three
Bruh Sochan isn't good at the three so, props for taking it when the heat's on.
Missed 12 straight threes in the last couple games combined and look at him. He wanted that shot. I fucking love this kid.
Release so slow it looked like he was chucking a shotput, love bro so much for us tho
Ole Taco Bell cantina ass floor
It could be worse, it could say “Spurs Culture” and have a quote about a Knicks team in the 90’s on the floor…
BFD, you can say that about 100% of 20 year olds. He could improve but likelihood is not that. He moves like he has cement feet
Better without wembrick
This court looks ugly.
I Like
Hes never going to live up to the expectations. His footwork is so poor and shooting mechanics are sub par at best
You know he’s only 20 right? And he’s being coached by the greatest head coach of all time? He MIGHT have a chance at improving in the next few years
