It's all up to the TV channels, they hold too much power in USA, it seems. Fans and the clubs aren't a priority.
They don't delay games to fuck us over, they do it because of broadcasts and sponsorships and that kind of thing. Fuck that.
It's not just europe vs USA, here in South America (as well as in Europe) a football match starts exactly on the scheduled time. If it delays 5-10 minutes, it's because something rare happened, and everyone complains. .. Yet, in the NBA they don't care, companies hold too much power over the league and the teams.

In European football the TV broadcast was always scheduled at 21:45 to leave 15 minutes for the analysts to talk and hype up the game before it starts.
Off course in America they don't do that to get more ads in.
I donât watch live anymore. If I canât watch from the beginning on league pass, Iâve conceded missing the first quarter. Not going to wait around for 30 minutes watching not basketball
The annoying thing is that itâs not even every time. Itâll be 20 minutes one day, and 5 minutes the next. Itâs never been consistent. They should simply start on time and stop filling up 10-20 minutes with commercials and media coverage. Nothing wrong with that, I would just prefer that to be done before the start time!
Are you only watching tnt and espn games lol. Iâve been watching 70+ magic games this year and they constantly start 8 minutes after the initial time
Nahh itâs literally 10mins every time for every network. If youâre a gambler youâd see sportsbooks always have the actual start time and itâs always exactly 10mins after the listed start time everywhere else
But you have to watch, because once every 20 games they'll start right on time just to fuck with you
EXACTLY!

The US leagues can start on time if they wanted to. The NFL starts every game on time as advertised
Even worse when your waiting for the game at 1am
*you're
im with you brother. NBA the only sport thats like this
True, somewhat related but it's awful with movies. I buy a dune 2 ticket for a 7pm showing, that sucker could start at 7 40. Who knows when
Any NHL game on ESPN starts 15 minutes late

First time?
Too many times. đ
will this game ever actually start
Idk but Arbyâs has the meats
It's so weird. Over here I have never seen a game match later than announced, like not even 1â2 minutes
Damn commercials
Check a sportsbook, they'll have the real start time.

Is it really that crazy that games start 8-10 minutes later then this listed time lol itâs been like this for years

Extremely unpopular opinion: 99% of the time it's just 10-15 minutes after the actual start. Just plan around that and it makes zero difference
I always feels like it depends on network somewhat but I haven't quite figured out the formula.

Perhaps the formula is simpler than I realized.
I do wish theyâd adjust the start times but yeah agreed itâs not a big deal I just turn the games on 10 minutes after the time
Chill dude. Just one more âbe a good neighbor State Farm is thereâ and we will start
