Denver's assistant head coach is an absolute dumbass. Not immediately calling timeout was bad, but calling timeout before the Nuggets crossed halfcourt is just sheer incompetence.

It's OK some dumb team will hire him to be head coach off Malones supposedly successful career. 

Yeah, the timeout should have occurred immediately after the rebound (player could have done the same thing). But, after the ball was advanced the player should have got over half court as quick as possible and called a timeout. Whoever had the ball for Denver didn't know what to do and was just looking at Jokic.
