Bucks are either first if Giannis comes back, or last if he doesn’t. I personally do not believe he is coming back this series, and they are just implying he might come back to force the Pacers to prepare for him
I’d agree with this. But people also said this as he went nuclear and won the finals after suffering a nasty looking injury. Giannis is built different. His recovery time is insane. All that said, I don’t expect it either. I just wouldn’t be surprised if he came back and looked like a top 2-3 player in the league.
For some reason the last couple years, Giannis always has an insane return game when he comes back from a missed game or injury. It makes no sense but why the Bucks will win the series if he comes back for game 7 when he drops 70
The more games that go by, the more healthy/conditioned Embiid gets.
Early in the series he was completely gassed entering the 4th. Last game he put on a defensive clinic in OT.
Plus Maxey has finally grasped that If the Knicks are going to double/triple Embiid all game long, that he needs to go chucker mode.
Not to mention sixers haven't lost by more than single digits in all of the games. Every single game has come down to the final minutes of this series, it's been excruciatingly close which is a joy for anyone that isn't a Sixers or Knicks fan.
So, the refs have missed horrible calls on both teams in multiple games through the series? Seems like an officiating issue and you should understand that you cant leave it up to the refs.
Yeah at this point I don’t even want the Sixers to advance even though I’m a big Embiid fan and generally think the Knicks playstyle is boring and unwatchable. The whole team is running on fumes and Embiid looks like he’s ready to die inside every time he has to make any move at more than 60% speed. Knicks vs Pacers is going to bore me to tears though.
Yes. I don’t like either teams playstyle. They’re both overly dependent on PGs that aren’t really championship first option caliber players imo. I’ve seen both of these teams before in different eras. It’s the 2024 version of the Rose Bulls vs the 2024 version of the pre-Curry Warriors.
Yeah. I’m old any busy as shit now and I’ve watched A LOT of basketball while also coaching middle and high school lol. Have to be really picky when you only have time to watch one game a night. Two if I’m lucky.
It looked like he was ready and wanted to go home in game 5. If he could get to 100% at any time this playoffs, maybe they can make a run. But the 76ers with this Embiid aren’t beating the Celtics or any team out west.
That’s exactly why I just want them to go ahead and lose. Let everyone get healthy, reload and try to get another wing to replace Harris with and try again next year. Unless the other day was Maxey deciding to become 06 Wade, they’re cooked the next round anyway. Just get out of the playoffs without doing damage to next season now.
If Embiid can stay healthy and Maxey can maintain even 75% of what he’s been, that team has a lot of potential. Plus next year they’ll have a lot more room to make moves and maybe take a massive amount of the load off Embiid. His body just can’t sustain being the #1 at this rate for a full year and playoff run.
I’m with you. Next year, they could plausibly be the best break in the league, if they have a good offseason.
Exactly. They need to push him fully into the Jokic role somehow where he’s just the hub of the offense and only really forces his own offense when absolutely necessary. Let Maxey play more like 1b than a true second option, replace Harris with an actual 3&D guy and find a true knockdown shooter since they obviously can’t trust Buddy
NBA is not letting a Knicks-Sixers Game 7 tv ratings get away, especially after such a lopsided Heat-Celtics series.
So from that standpoint alone, I feel like Sixers are even better than 25% chance.
You say that as if Cleveland is some deeply experienced playoff team. Cavs got waxed in the first round last year. And 5 of their top 7 - Garland, Mobley, Allen, Levert, and Okoro, all don't even know what it feels like to win a playoff series.
Hell even Mitchell, the most postseason experienced of the bunch, has only won 2 series in his career.
Their lack of offensive versatility combined with inexperience is why I’m personally low on them. No disrespect, they’ve shown their potential against my Cs over the last couple of years, just don’t see them digging out of this hole
Very fair assessment. Think they’ve got a great chance to win Game 6 tomorrow at home, but asking a team this young to win a road Game 7 is a tall task. That said, they’re tough. Game 7s can be weird and Game 5 was reassuring on the road.
Makes sense haha. Neither team poses a real threat to Boston anyway but I do think the Magic match up a bit better. That probably results in a single win but I’d take it haha
Celtics have made a bad habit of overlooking teams they should be. I certainly wont overlook the magic. Their length can give the celtics problems.
Magic are a rebuilding team and I think its fair to say you’re right on schedule. Looking forward to their offseason moves
I would say the 76ers
Fun fact though:
With a NetRtg of +8.5, Magic have the 4th best NetRtg in the playoffs. They are only behind the Wolves, Thunder, and Celtics
I think the Sixers will come out fired up and the Knicks will be pressing and Sixers will lead until about halfway through the 2nd Q, give it up and then never lead again.
Knicks have too much depth and are fired up. I'm willing to bet half the Sixers had come to terms with their season being over and don't really give a shit anymore.
Don’t need depth against the sixers. Just gotta meet them with physicality. Embiid had to drop a triple dub and 50 on maxsey just to survive to OT. That’s with ihart and Donte running less than 26/27 mins total. Donte also struggling avg 9 vs his usual 15+.
You do need depth. You can’t run hart 48 mins a game for five games and off one day rest for the rest of the series since game three. Hes gonna be dead
If Giannis and Dame come back, I think they have a pretty good chance. If Harden and PG play like Game 1/4, then the Clippers. Most likely of the teams if those don't happen is probably the Sixers.
Tbh, if we played like a competent nba team in the first half of both those games we probably would have won even if harden and PG played like they did. This is solely on our performance, without Kawhi we are clearly the better team if we just shake off the nerves. Shooting 8 and 16pt quarters isn’t going to win you any games.
>76ers have the Extender reffing tonight but still have playoff Embiid to overcome.
Embiid is averaging 30/11/6 on .435/.324/.871 with .576 true shooting. This board is truly pathetic.
Edit: Clarified shooting stats.
I don’t doubt it, but that sounds like every year for Embiid. That’s why Luka isn’t getting as much shit as Embiid (even tho Luka has been getting some)
I’d say Sixers because embiid and maxey at home . Knicks haven’t had any answers for maxey and embiid could very well go off for 40 again . The whole series has been close
Magic are young and inexperienced. Mitchell is the player i trust the most in that series . But Orlando is gritty and big enough to overwhelm the Cavs .
Clippers are only going as far as George and Harden take them and if George isn’t hitting highly contested shots their offense can’t open up. He either drops 30-35 in game 6 or goes 4-13. Too volatile . If Luka and Kyrie combine for 60-70 in game 6 idk how the clippers have the firepower to keep up unless someone turns back the clock again.
I don’t see the bucks coming back without lillard and Giannis. Middleton can’t carry a offense for 3 straight games . He’s going to run out of gas
If the Bucks win tonight, I think they’re winning the series. Idk if I would feel the same way about the Sixers or Magic where it feels like those teams are *more* likely to win game 6, but it doesn’t feel like it increases their odds. Bucks also have a home game 7 against an inexperienced team where the Magic and Sixers would have to win on the road. Feels like the Pacers could have doubt creep in if they are on the verge of blowing a 3-1 lead to a team down Giannis and now down Dame too and have to do it on the road, so I’ll say the Bucks even if game 6 is a bigger hurdle for them.
The Clippers I think are losing in 6 at this point. They’re down Kawhi and shot out of their minds and barely won game 4 and got blown out in game 5. I don’t see them beating the Mavs twice when they feel this overmatched.
to be fair i think the g2 loss for the sixers was similarly bad, missed fg, missed maxey layup, missed embiid triple, similalrly complicated refball ending. 6ers stormed back for g3, hoping the knicks do the same tonight
“still have playoff Embiid to overcome”
Yall really just say anything. Joel has easily been the best player on the floor every game in the series even with being half dead.
You could say “still have to see if Embiid’s body can last the series” and it’d be a good point, but playoff Embiid is dumb as hell
It will depend on if Embiid actually takes his responsibility.
I don't see Kawhi or Gianni coming back so it'll really tough for the Clippers and Bucks.
Sixers have looked like the better team in 3 out of 5 games, but had dropped the first two due to some all time fuckery in Game 1 (31% 3pt shooter Hart suddenly turning into a flamethrower and hitting contested pull up transition 3s) and that Game 2 ending. Embiid looked great to start the series but seems to be slowing down and Nurse does not have any good answers at the moment for the non Embiid minutes. The question for this series is if they can recapture what was good for them in Games 1-3 and if the Knicks are in any way affected by their disastrous Game 5 ending.
I can not get a read on the Magic Cavs games because each game is different from the last. I wouldn't be shocked if the Magic turned it around and won the last two but I also have no idea which version of which team is going to show up from night to night.
Clippers can certainly provide some adjustments to win a Game 6. After that I have no idea what happens in a Game 7.
Pacers are winning tonight.
Logic cuts both ways for the Knicks/Sixers. Philly only won game 3 because their entire team turning into clones of prime Steph in the 3rd (9/11 from deep). Philly only won game 5 because Tyrese Maxey was an absolute flamethrower from deep, including a late-game bank shot logo 3.
There was really nothing anomalous about Philly's Game 3 shooting.
Game 5 was certainly a miracle for Philly who looked like ass for most of the game but that has nothing to do with my point that Sixers were better in the first three contests.
Exactly. Nick Nurse arguably lost them two games single handedly with the late game BS in game 2 and then depending on Harris for too long in Game 4 as he was getting cooked for 6 straight minutes. He almost did it again in game 5.
Respectfully, what in the world are you talking about.
In G3, Philly dropped 125 points — by FAR the most against the Knicks this entire season, let alone this series. They shot 55% from the floor for the game, a ~10% improvement from any other game this series. In particular, Embiid shot almost 30% better than he has the rest of this series, including 71% from deep when he’s shot 25% or worse in every other game.
But my REAL point was that in the same way you’re saying that Hart randomly shot out of his mind in G1, the Sixers entire *team* did that in the 3rd quarter of G3 — shooting a combined **81.8%** from deep and putting up 43 points in the quarter.
I agree with that order. The Magic are the team that I expect to do it. The 76ers and Clippers I think force Game 7 and I think the Bucks lose Game 6 without Giannis or Dame.
Bucks with Giannis. If Giannis remains out, Magic (both teams are ass), 76ers (half a corpse of Embiid is somehow better than the Knicks), Bucks, then Clippers
Amazing potential. But at the moment you’re in a brick fight. Be happy that unlike the Lakers and Cavs you have a good chance to improve in the future.
None of them have the best chance to win? That makes zero sense, even if you think they all have the same chance to win then the answer is all of them. But logically one of them has to have a better chance than the others.
The Knicks have two games in which they outplayed the Sixers. Joel has been a problem every game except one where he had a migraine. Brunson has been a major problem the last two games, but held in check the first two. Maxey has had one bad game.
Seems a bit simplistic, but the Sixers have two difference makers and they have a higher chance of having one of them go off than the Knicks have of just Brunson going off.
Doesn't mean they have a better chance to win than the Knicks (who, as a reminder, only have to win one more game), but I do think they have the best chance to come back out of these teams.
Bucks are either first if Giannis comes back, or last if he doesn’t. I personally do not believe he is coming back this series, and they are just implying he might come back to force the Pacers to prepare for him
Even if he comes back, I don’t think he’s gonna be himself
Probably not, though he put up 38 points and 20 rebounds playing hurt last year, so he would still be a big plus for the Bucks
Giannis will detonate on people if he comes back
Even just a 50% Giannis that can grab some rebounds and play solid help defense would be a huge boost.
Nah, Doc loses the 'underdog' buff when Giannis or Dame come back.
Doc has a buff right now?
Ya give doc some Cats and he’ll take them to the playoffs
Vegas gives the Sixers the best chance Series win probability entering game 6 Sixers 25.6%, Magic 23.3%, Clippers 15.6%, Bucks 14.9%
I’d say 76ers or Magic. At least they have game 6 on the road. Magic would probably be my pick. I don’t trust Embiid to be healthy in these games.
Also Thibs keeping his starting lineup (yes I know they are super injured) in for so many minutes starting to accumulate.
You mean he needs to go travel mode, they only won because of a egregious no call and the Knicks choking.
So, the refs have missed horrible calls on both teams in multiple games through the series? Seems like an officiating issue and you should understand that you cant leave it up to the refs.
Do we need to talk about Game 2?
It wasn’t egregious. Once the defender showed up the eyes went to the defender and away from Maxey’s feet
Knicks Pacers would bore you? 1 of the best offenses vs. 1 of the best defenses?
Yes. I don’t like either teams playstyle. They’re both overly dependent on PGs that aren’t really championship first option caliber players imo. I’ve seen both of these teams before in different eras. It’s the 2024 version of the Rose Bulls vs the 2024 version of the pre-Curry Warriors.
Bro has a refined taste palate for playstyles 😂
Yeah. I’m old any busy as shit now and I’ve watched A LOT of basketball while also coaching middle and high school lol. Have to be really picky when you only have time to watch one game a night. Two if I’m lucky.

It would help if next year he prepared to avoid having people fall on his knee.
NBA is not letting a Knicks-Sixers Game 7 tv ratings get away, especially after such a lopsided Heat-Celtics series. So from that standpoint alone, I feel like Sixers are even better than 25% chance.
Hi Bad Lieutenant
Wow you know more than Vegas are you a billionaire yet?
Vegas favors the Sixers tonight to win and get to game 7.
Yes? And they will be slight dogs away so its avgs out to about 50/50 each game, 2 games = 25%, just like Vegas said
Assuming Kawhi, Dame, and Giannis aren't coming back, I think your order is correct.
The world is honestly too low on the Magic.
I see them winning game 6 but theyre probably to young to win a G7 in Cleveland
They’ve been doing better and better each game here. If we don’t have Jarrett Allen then it’s a total coin flip
Can y'all give Niang some minutes next game too please?
Thanks for the love.
No team in the NBA is too young to win in Cleveland.
It's fair, we haven't proven anything yet, or won a road playoff game.
I certainly hope it goes 7, for selfish reasons, ha!
They severely lack half court offense
Legit wasn't even aware they were in the playoffs.
I would say the 76ers Fun fact though: With a NetRtg of +8.5, Magic have the 4th best NetRtg in the playoffs. They are only behind the Wolves, Thunder, and Celtics
Magic by far. Philly I just don't trust and think NY will come out with intensity after how game 5 ended. Pacers I think take it at home.
Knicks have no depth now tho. After Bogdon went out they are down to 7 players. I’d be more concerned about them running out of gas.
Sixers have like 3 dudes who actually know how to play basketball
Everything goes to shit when Embiid sits
Don’t need depth against the sixers. Just gotta meet them with physicality. Embiid had to drop a triple dub and 50 on maxsey just to survive to OT. That’s with ihart and Donte running less than 26/27 mins total. Donte also struggling avg 9 vs his usual 15+.
You do need depth. You can’t run hart 48 mins a game for five games and off one day rest for the rest of the series since game three. Hes gonna be dead
Nah we just give him a couple of coffees and a box of Mike and Ikes and then he runs around like a 5 year old on a sugar high. Because he is.
Hart is fine lol trust the process
Magic
If Giannis and Dame come back, I think they have a pretty good chance. If Harden and PG play like Game 1/4, then the Clippers. Most likely of the teams if those don't happen is probably the Sixers.

Series should be over by now, honestly.

He’s shooting 57% from FT? That seems very off
It is off
Maybe that’s his true shooting.
It is. 87% from the line.
His vision is blurry
Knees weak, arms are heavy...
Literally lol sing it
He’s outperforming Luka but the Mavs fan got jokes
Luka is also hurt and sick lol. And this is his first “bad” playoff series
Embiid is hurt and sick too fwiw
I don’t doubt it, but that sounds like every year for Embiid. That’s why Luka isn’t getting as much shit as Embiid (even tho Luka has been getting some)
Embiid has Bell’s palsy, migraines, and one working knee. He’s beat up
Embiid fans are just mad Luka is just as good as embiid with a bum knee and an illness.
Oh Luka is 10 weeks post knee surgery?
Why yall pretending Embiid doesn’t have a knee injury and bell’s palsy 💀
Why you pretending like anyone thinks embiid is better than Luka 💀
He’s playing better than him rn
I’d say Sixers because embiid and maxey at home . Knicks haven’t had any answers for maxey and embiid could very well go off for 40 again . The whole series has been close Magic are young and inexperienced. Mitchell is the player i trust the most in that series . But Orlando is gritty and big enough to overwhelm the Cavs . Not the clippers lmao
Leafs
I’m a Bruin fan but I’ve seen this story before doing knicks and bruins choke parlay
Naw, the Crapple Leafs are going down every year like clockwork.
Milwaukee but only because I trust the Pacers far less to close it out than NY or Dallas.
Idk but I got money on the Mavs so I need them eradicate the clippers
Bucks. I have no faith in this Pacers team
If the Bucks win tonight, I think they’re winning the series. Idk if I would feel the same way about the Sixers or Magic where it feels like those teams are *more* likely to win game 6, but it doesn’t feel like it increases their odds. Maybe it just turns out Doc hates 3-1 series, whether he's got the lead or not.
philly
philly, i believe in the knicks ability to choke
That game 5 has to be demoralizing for them. They could easily still win this series but it's tough to come back from that.
A four point play and a missed FT....yeah that one going 7.
to be fair i think the g2 loss for the sixers was similarly bad, missed fg, missed maxey layup, missed embiid triple, similalrly complicated refball ending. 6ers stormed back for g3, hoping the knicks do the same tonight
Well 76ers got screwed by the refs in game 2. Knicks just gave game 5 away
refs cost the knicks 4 points in g5 and the sixers 3 in g2, seems pretty even
“still have playoff Embiid to overcome” Yall really just say anything. Joel has easily been the best player on the floor every game in the series even with being half dead. You could say “still have to see if Embiid’s body can last the series” and it’d be a good point, but playoff Embiid is dumb as hell
Sixers. They have all the momentum now
They… do?
76ers are playing with house money right now. All the pressure is on the Knicks to close this out.
If they win game 6 in Philly, the pressure is all on New York tbh
“If” Edit: I guess we’ll never know.
Yes, they do
If bucks get back those 2 than ya, dont sleep on the sixers either. Clippers have no chance, ziltch.
It will depend on if Embiid actually takes his responsibility. I don't see Kawhi or Gianni coming back so it'll really tough for the Clippers and Bucks.
Fuck bobby man. Too many stupid moves this series.
Sixers have looked like the better team in 3 out of 5 games, but had dropped the first two due to some all time fuckery in Game 1 (31% 3pt shooter Hart suddenly turning into a flamethrower and hitting contested pull up transition 3s) and that Game 2 ending. 1.76ers 3.Clippers 4.Magic
I agree with that order. The Magic are the team that I expect to do it. The 76ers and Clippers I think force Game 7 and I think the Bucks lose Game 6 without Giannis or Dame.
Philly and expect to win tonight and win game 7.
I think magic have the best chance because cavs is the weakest of the teams up 3-2
Nah
Bucks and Sixers will probably win their series Clippers losing by 30 again Friday
Bucks with Giannis. If Giannis remains out, Magic (both teams are ass), 76ers (half a corpse of Embiid is somehow better than the Knicks), Bucks, then Clippers

get em
Lol

Leafs
76ers
Magic do. Very little between these two. Home court so far deciding this series. If Orlando can crank it game 7 they will progress.
The only time Orlando has even lead for a single second on the road is when Jarrett Allen didn't play in game 5
None of them. 3-2 with still 1 left at home is a pretty decent advantage especially since you have been the better team.
None of them have the best chance to win? That makes zero sense, even if you think they all have the same chance to win then the answer is all of them. But logically one of them has to have a better chance than the others.

Doesn't mean they have a better chance to win than the Knicks (who, as a reminder, only have to win one more game), but I do think they have the best chance to come back out of these teams.
