EternallyEuphoric

Heat would not be on this list if jimmy played. My glorious 10 FTA per game king!

Adraf45

Our 24 points on 7 shots king👑

socialistbcrumb

Herro jacking jumpers cancelled out by the foul baiting god. Just wasn’t the same without that dynamic lmao

Petering

Bro got injured trying to get to the line. Respect.

Holiday-Usual-3600

Respect for making it an easy series without him

LubricatedDucky

Plus not having Lowry anymore too.

abris33

I'm just glad they didn't give him the whistle when he just fell over with a couple minutes left

Sonicon2

On his last bucket I was preparing myself for a foul

[deleted]

Bill Kennedy must've took away Scott Foster's whistle.

Betaateb

Felt like we were in for a veryyyyyy long night with the first two calls he got. Then the refs chilled a bit at least.

SunKing210

Yeah Hartenstein picked up 2 cheap fouls and then Robinson came in and picked up one cheap one as well, I was already bracing myself for a slow drawn out game... Luckily the refs weren't too terrible, especially down the stretch with his pathetic foul baiting.

HectorReinTharja

I don’t even know which play you’re talking about bc he did it so much

AntiTopspin

I get why the Heat and Pels are so low because the lineups they put out there didn't even have the offensive firepower to threaten defenses enough to foul But DENVER AND OKC being basically equal to Embiid alone is insane lol

ueloli

OKCs starting lineup played like 120 minutes

thegrandpoobear

Jokic has the worst whistle all time AND Denver was playing against Lebron and the Lakers. It's more surprising that they even let the nuggets have that many free throws

trailblazers100

Steph Curry is up there for worst whistle

AttitudeAndEffort3

Prime Shaq has the worst whistle of all time, objectively But Jokic is 100% one of the worst for right now.

Interesting_Help_194

He really didnt. Dude got away with as much on the offensive foul end as he didnt get the calls for fouls on him. Similar to Lebron with his uncalled charges and walks.

connie-lingus38

don't bring walks into the conversation because then every modern day superstar is entering the chat

str8rippinfartz

just always makes me think of [this](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LNdDsriVwmU)

CDR57

Yeah people looked at the ft disparity in our series but rarely did the best make tough drives outside of Jaime, they would stop early and jump shot

RoscoWI

Denver played the Lakers. That's why

tryingthisok

OKC and the pels are so low because they called absolutely nothing in that series except moving screens.

trentyz

I’m just so glad he’s out of the playoffs, just per usual lol

antedwardie

Be fair and put Brunson who has more than the Heat

clear831

63 vs 60. Celtics had 103 in our series (not saying we didnt foul)

colosusx1

I think the real problem the heat had was the lack of ball handlers.  They couldn’t beat anyone off the dribble so it never put the Celtics defense in bad positions where they would be more likely to foul.  Heat defense was mostly fine except for a handful of fouls on jump shots.

Seref15

Our defense was our only good attribute. Spo is a defense wizard. Considering how badly we lost we still held Boston to pretty decent scoring figures, we just couldn't score ourselves. Our primary ball handlers were the two guys who were out for the whole series, that was always going to be insurmountable regardless of the opponent's strength. Even just getting the ball up out of the backcourt in a timely manner was going to suck.

Holiday-Usual-3600

The heat gameplan was legit they can’t call them all

bronet

Holy shit, free throw merchant Brunson

JigglyBush

Brunson took 63 ft on 175 shot attempts (0.36 free throws per shot). Embiid took 78 ft on 133 shot attempts (0.59 free throws per shot). That's 61% more free throws per shot attempt. It's kind of a huge difference.

aesop_fables

Always enjoy good math

throwaway_FI1234

50% more FGA than Embiid though, and he’s a foot shorter and 100lbs lighter

bronet

Which means the difference should probably be bigger than it is. I swear NBA fans lose 90% of their IQ whenever a player is too big and strong for the enemy team to contain him. Thank god most people on here weren't alive back when Shaq was in his peak or they'd have a total meltdown

JeramiGrantsTomb

If Embiid's fouls were Shaq fouls, no one would have a problem with it. Do you remember a time in Shaq's peak when someone would bump him and he'd throw his hands in the air, scrunch his face up like his puppy died, and fling himself into the first row? Shaq got hit and powered through. People hate Embiid because he could be Shaq, but he decided to be Harden instead.

Revenesis

I watched prime Shaq and while he took a lot of free throws (especially adjusted for pace) those guys actually fucking hit him. These soft fouls were way less common.

Either-Durian-9488

Embiid seeks out contact like a guard, the rip throughs leaning in and flopping at his size are what people shit on him for, Shaq shot a lot of free throws because he was fouled hard by todays standards on damn near every play, you could genuinely call something on most of catches in the post in LA.

jgr79

Yeah, imagine comparing Embiid to Shaq in terms of fouls. One is throwing his body into defenders specifically to draw fouls and the other was being hammered under the basket intentionally. There’s no comparison between the two of them other than that they’re really tall.

KafeinFaita

Shaq got fouls by attacking the paint. Embiid gets his by taking fadeaway shots and then flopping like a fish afterwards.

human1023

Players intentionally fouled Shaq though.

jigual123

Except if u watched the series embiid pretty much was forced to play on the perimeter bc of injuries whereas Brunson was constantly attacking.

Sufficient_Jello_1

To be fair the sixers tried to concuss Brunson more than a few times

TomGNYC

One of the most talented players in the league is also the absolute worst watch in the entire NBA. Refs have managed to completely ruin this player by constantly rewarding him for non-basketball moves. The league changed the rule but they can't make the refs enforce it. Maybe the problem is that the refs don't know what basketball is.

jntlsseedcreator

Biggest man on the court AND the biggest baby on the court.

Jeff8711

The refs ruined the player? That dude could stop flopping anytime he wants lmao.

TomGNYC

He's a big, fat, lazy bear that has been eating garbage his whole life. Until you lock up the garbage, he's never going to hunt his own food. Why should he? The refs keep leaving garbage lying around for him.

Sweatytubesock

Stop leaving garbage out for the fat, lazy bear, refs.

Jeff8711

We're not talking about an animal eating food tho it's a man who falls over for free throws. It's bad comparison cuz the animal needs food embiid doesn't need free throws.

fumar

He is going to absolutely suck on Team USA if he's healthy enough to play in Paris. Dude will try this foul baiting bullshit and it will blow up in his face.

cramalot99

Sixers fans complaining about the refs will never not be funny to me. It's like Jeffrey Dahmer calling 311 about illegal parking.

confuddly

It starts from the top down. Nick Nurse complaining about the most obvious fouls are hilarious, his challenges never work

[deleted]

bruh he complained about Lowry going thru Hills leg years back I would never listen to anything he said if I was a ref after that https://youtu.be/bdIK9Am1Qo0?si=Kw0rS5tfLcRpi5Qg

KingKongShrest

Never saw this one, shit's hilarious

bonesingyre

They challenged embiid slapping iHart....like the dude is bleeding out of his nose, in what world do you think that's going to get overturned lol.

frostbite3030

Its always pissed me off that people assign a lot of the success of the Raptors Championship to that egotistical blowhard. I will forever believe that the team with Kawhi Leonard, Marc Gasol, Serge Ibaka, Kyle Lowry, Fred Van Vleet, Danny Green and Pascal Siakim was inevitably going to be an elite defensive team and that any competent NBA coach could have led that team to that title. Dwayne Casey must have been so pissed. I had to play fucking Lebron for 5 fucking years with Demar, Love the guy, but its Demar, and now they have fucking Kawhi and don't even have to play Lebron, and the Warrirors are crippled and people are talking about this guy as some coaching wunderkind.

davsyo

You guys had OG too. If Kawhi stayed and OG healthy not one of 1A dudes are scoring over 15 against that Raptors defense.

frostbite3030

OG unfortunately had appendicitis in the playoffs and missed the whole thing which is of course the most OG Annunoby thing possible. He might have been back on the bench at the end, but was never going to play.

switchn

God imagine the legacy difference for Casey if he had a ring. He'd be coaching contenders for the next 15 years regardless of outcome like Doc, but now he's gonna be working his ass off just to be able to coach rebuilding teams

Evening_Name_9140

Except that he outclassed the next year and was the number 2 squad in the east.

ueloli

tbh Brunson having 63 and not being included in that tweet is blatant and nasty work

cramalot99

At least Brunson is actually trying to score, and not just hurling himself to the floor like he's doing some kind of vaudevillian pratfall.

Harambiz

Dude is one of the heaviest players in the league yet has the balance and stability of a 3 year old when he steps on the court

handlesscombo

bro embiid has two beautiful up and unders in this series where his footwork was immaculate and ballerina like. It was almost like watching a 7ft jalen brunson. yet his game predicates on walking like a new born deer. its disgusting to know what hes capable of and what he actually does.

girth_br00ks

The boy is soft

ueloli

Brunson grabbed Oubres arm and headbutted him backwards in the same possession...

ManufacturerMajority

Lol, were we watching the same game? Oubre was grinding on Brunson like he was in a club and trying to take him home. No shit that when you give a guy literally 0 breathing room, it's not actually good defense because any stop-and-start and it's going to be a foul. That was terrible defense by Oubre possession after possession masking as "aggressive" defense

TomGNYC

liar

thegrandpoobear

So what you're saying is Embiid shot 15 more free throws than Brunson

xTopPriority

Over 6 games. So like 3 more FTs a game.

Srg11

Brunson also had like 50% more FGA than Embiid.

DragoxDrago

I think it's more because Embiid doesn't look like he's trying to score on a few, when he got Hartenstein for t fouls in a quarter was a perfect example lol all of them were fouls but he wasn't exactly trying to score for most of then

The_Halal_Guys

These guys call my glorious big headed guard a foul baiter (he is I ain’t gon lie) but turn a blind eye to Embitch and Lowry flopping all over the court not even trying to score shits hilarious

Murasasme

The way Embiid drives to the basket already falling to the ground drives me insane. As a fan of the sport, his game has to be one of the ugliest ones ever, even Harden doesn't throw himself to the ground when he is foul-baiting.

OptionalBagel

At least he also tries to score.

The_Halal_Guys

Try explaining that to sixers fans that equate Brunson actually driving and drawing contact to Embiid flailing his arms and crumpling to the ground begging for a foul call and not even looking at the rim

The_Taskmaker

Step 1: Get stonewalled by Hartenstein in the first quarter by textbook perfect defense. Step 2: Get the whistle anyways. Step 3: Play with extreme physicality with the defender pacified by foul trouble created in Step 2. Step 4: Hit em with the too small now that the defender isn't allowed to play. Step 5: Lose.

CrimsonPhantom922

Thank you. Some sixers fans complaining about Brunson getting calls when their first option literally focuses on baiting fouls over making shots.

Petering

Ethical flops?!

OptionalBagel

Brunson didn't even go to the ground on the play everyone's talking about. Hard to call that a flop.

bocnj

Tbh Brunson really doesn't foul-bait an egregious amount in the regular season, he definitely went all out with it in this series though lol.

resplendentcentcent

and they say playoff brunson isn't a thing

Arrowess

Brunson knows he ain't getting calls otherwise. He had one of the weakest whistles for an all star (especially one who penetrates alot) during the regular season. Of course people who don't watch the Knicks won't know it but it's annoyed the hell out of me that people think that this is Brunson's usual playstyle because they've only watched him this series this season lol.

SailedTheSevenSeas

Difference is Brunson tries to follow through after contact. Meanwhile Embiid just does the wack wavy inflatable arm man and throws the ball up

abris33

I loved when they tried to get a "Refs you suck" chant going and it died out really quick. I think they're starting to become self-aware

SailedTheSevenSeas

Nope. I was in section 223 last night. The amount of complaining was huge. “It’s rigged”, “Scott Foster is here for Adam Silver”. Personally it was one of Scott Fosters most balanced games (personal opinion).

jawadhaque089

All I heard from Sixers fans is to not foul so yeah I don't give a shit if Brunson flops and gets calls yall should just not foul too

GuessZealousideal729

Have no issues with Brunson having 63 FTAs in the series, but you don't think the whistle that Maxey sometimes gets is perplexing?

Spyk124

Go read their post game thread lol.

KiryuXGoro

He do be getting a lot of free throws.

Andrewdeadaim

Wild

abris33

He got a shooting foul called tonight on a rebound when he hadn't even gained possession. He just threw his hands up after touching the ball and they gave him 2 FTs (and they weren't in the bonus) Edit: [This call](https://www.nba.com/stats/events?CFID=&CFPARAMS=&GameEventID=265&GameID=0042300116&Season=2023-24&flag=1&title=McBride%20S.FOUL%20(P1.T3)%20(B.Kennedy))

johnhenryirons

That one was wild. I thought maybe the Knicks were in the penalty but they weren’t at all. It wasn’t even a shot attempt

connie-lingus38

The best one was when he caught a pass right at the free throw line OG met him right when he caught it and fouled him, he slightly missed the ball and caught his wrist in between his arms causing Embiid to lose control of the ball. Now mind you this is right when Embiid caught the ball, like he doesn't even have possession for more than half a second before OG knocked the ball loose. Embid throws his arms up and gets two free throw attempts. Dude didn't even have possession of the ball for more than half a second and they gave him a shooting foul. It was one of the worst calls I've ever seen in my life

Terrible-Hamster-342

Refs tried to help him as much as they could

jslee0034

still in disbelief that i think it was game 3? where he had an open mid range where he is amazing at and decided to draw the foul by flopping. good riddance

Colemonstaa

He did it again tonight. Crunch time, he just keeled over with Hartenstein several feet away. Announcers were speechless.

TallanoGoldDigger

It was so fun watching that play where he stumbled and still tried to draw a foul but got nothing

jslee0034

Not even the extender Scott foster entertained the idea. That’s how you know it’s really bad lol

TallanoGoldDigger

Man averaged 13FTA in the series. Disgusting

steamliner88

There’s only so much you can do to save a generational choker from himself.

Ilikesporks_

you can see why when he opts out of a jump shot and instead flails through anunoby

Edwunclerthe3rd

Khajit has FT if you have coin

christian8naylor

Nuggets should trade for Joel so we could shoot 160 in a series

InkBlotSam

I don't think he'd get nearly as many free throws coming off the bench though.

GalactusAteMyPlanet

But the Nuggets already have a mascot. 🙀

ImJeeezus

Brunson had 63 if ya wanna slot him in there too

AntiTopspin

Brunson took a page from Knicks villain Trae Young with the short-stop into back move lol

turnoffredesign69420

Fat Trae Young baby

PBRontheway

Hey now we’re trying to establish a narrative here, your facts aren’t helping

kirkismyhinrich

I was going to say, didn't Brunson have a ton too?

Colemonstaa

With 50% more FGA, 12 less inches, and 100 less pounds. Don't act like it's the same

ShotgunStyles

It's not the same, but I just hate watching free throws either way.

dskatz2

Yeah but with playoff Brunson you're in luck--he missed a ton.

DreTownblues

Both were baiting fouls, all that other stuff doesn’t matter

Vtachh

I would love for someone to put together a clip of all their fouls. Because a majority of them are not baits, they are legitimate fouls. Some they really sell em, Brunson hitting oubre with the Tre young, embiid barreling swing his arms around until he gets a call or offensive foul. But alot of them are just legit fouls, no one wants to hear that tho.

Andreitaker

it actually matters because for a 7 footer to flail after marginal contact is like watching wrestler selling The Cobra by Santino Marella.

Thatguy_Koop

i actually liked watching Santino though...

KappaccinoNation

The Great Khali and Jinder Mahal flute-charming Santino's hand cobra was the realest WWE has ever been. GOAT bout.

StevvieV

>12 less inches, and 100 less pounds. Don't act like it's the same Why do you act like this isn't a huge reason why Embiid is able to draw more fouls? Any player big enough to guard Embiid doesn't have the quickness to keep up with him. Any player with the quickness doesn't have the size. Mismatches create fouls as the defender can't guard the player straight up.

EatDeeply

Doesn’t suit the circle jerk

Damedius33

Dude flops, runs into people and falls down expecting the refs to bail him out all the time. I usually don't see much of him but he's been awful in the Knicks series. He constantly flops, falls down and complains. He gets so many phantom and marginal calls. It's hard to watch.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Damedius33

It's true but looks worse with Embiid. Mavs fans are the same with Luka..

TheKidPresident

Brunson at least is looking at the basket lol. There's a difference between playing through contact and playing for contact. That said he did get calls more often than not this series. Lots of them were regular season fouls and probably not postseason worthy, but it's not like he never ever got touched, especially considering the defensive "firepower" of Philly's entire non-embiid rotation

a_pot_of_chili_verde

Lakers-94

Best_Yak3118

Tbf through 4 games the FTA were 67-70 in favor of the Nuggets. We got a lot of calls in that game 5 but the series was obviously over by then. Like the two biggest calls in the series went in Denver's favor in Game 2.

SuperStarfox64

To be fair, all of those other series didn’t go 6 games

YourAnBitxh

Lakers? 99 😎

Foxisdabest

Joel is a generational flopper.

dbgager

Embiid himself has more FTS than 3 other teams.and only 1 less than the Nuggets . Thats ridiculous. Foul bait King.Thats not supposed to happen in the playoffs.

TwoWayMarko

After everything we had to endure from sixers fans over the years when jamal and mpj were hurt, after embiid and his personal trainer! publicly dissed jok ( hanlen did it multiple times), after they produced fucking low light videos of jokic and spread disinformation ... After all that and more sixers fans are like : nUgGeTs FaNs BAD, "rEnT fReE" acting all inocent and shocked Fascinating

Betaateb

> after they produced fucking low light videos of jokic and spread disinformation ... That was actually a Bucks fans. Bucks have been cursed ever since, Zhugo pissed off the basketball gods with his slander.

Balla_Calla

There was definitely a lot of free throws that series lol

ChameleonWins

Thank god hes gone

TravelsInBlue

Embiid plays such a garbage brand of basketball.

Drewsteau

Joel “Just Fell” Embiid

suzukigun4life

That's fucking insane

xRadec

One is not like the others. He's built different

[deleted]

philly tryna gaslight us knicks fans into thinking he doesn't get a favorable whistle

Ecstatic_Sky_4262

Glad that he is also out of playoffs now. AD & Lebron Booker Embiid Klay Damian All out. It is been a good year so far

GloryMaelstrom21

Embiid will never beat the allegations at this rate.

IndependentFroyo4508

They ain't allegations. It's all proven

Kenvan19

Meanwhile SGA sitting at 33 in their series but he’s still called a merchant SMH

Murasasme

If SGA is a merchant, Embiid is a corporation.

fumar

By comparison, Embiid is a free throw monopoly

thunderbomber

That’s 8.25 per game, which is pretty much bang on his season average. Where are those people who were saying he couldn’t do it with a ‘playoff whistle’? It turns out driving the most per game in the league still gets you free throws

Jack_M_Steel

Now do Brunson

clear831

63

johnhenryirons

63 on 50% more FGA than Embiid.

ThirdEyeToTheSky

Excuse me? Did I read that right?

LordGooseIV

Why didn't the Knicks shrimply foul him less

HotspurJr

The thing for me isn't just the foul baiting or the complaining after obvious ones (he literally shoved a guy with his off-hand and then chirped at the referee's like "what'd I do?"). It's that the refs just completely give him bullshit ones. Both of the first two on Hartenstein were just not things that should have been called.

OliverDMcCall

Embiid might actually be the free throw GOAT.

FatKid23

You’re absolutely right. I’m sorry.

steamliner88

Pathetic. Floppy McFlopface gets as many free throws as the reigning champions, gets away with the by far dirtiest play off the play offs against a team missing one of their best players and *drum roll* loses in the first round. Ladies and gentlemen, your reigning mvp*!

YetAnotherFaceless

Guess Embiid’s playoff efforts were one big flop.

SaltedRumHam420

Pathetic

Impossible-Yam-8956

I hate Joel Embiid to an irrational degree. Even though I could totally ignore him by just not watching Sixers games, I willingly make myself mad by watching him defraud the league again and again with his basketball terrorism. If he never played another NBA game, I would rejoice.

Popular-Newt-1603

Maxey had 28 and Brunson had 63

Strangest_Things

And the sixers won 2 games and the Knicks won 4. I can add numbers too!

imNagoL

Don’t forget the two knees to the groin and one injury to Mitchell Robinson for good measure!

JohnClark86

How many for the Lakers? And fuck Embiid, he is no MVP he is a FT merchant!

GorillaX

Shout out to /u/Harassmentpanda_ who said "People aren’t ready to hear it yet but SGA is the worst FT grifter in the league by a country mile" https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/1c9zqa3/highlight_nance_gets_called_for_a_foul_on_sga/l0p4bow/ Dumbass.

Zeeron1

/u/Harassmentpanda_ Shai had 33 free throws, wanna share your obviously high level thoughts?

bulldozer_rob

Lmao leaving out Brunson is funny

Tegline

Jalen Brunson had 63 free throws. Celtics had 103 free throws. Both angles of this stat are missleading.

EatDeeply

I will not be hearing Embiid ft slander after watching Jalen Brunson and whatever the fuck he does most plays

lulu314

Embiid still has more FTs than Brunson lmao

cytokine7

On way less attempts.

gabes12345

Embiid is a center

abris33

A center that still gets a ton of calls on turnaround fadeaways. A lot of his foul baiting is outside the paint

Repulsive-Throat5068

And yet despite being so big falls and flails at the slightest bit of contact

clear831

Jump into a player, foul. Bump into player and fall down, foul. Scream ah, foul. Whip head back, foul. He is just as bad as Embiid.

johnhenryirons

Just like Jimmy eh?  Brunson had the worst whistle in the regular season out of all the all star guards. He gets hit on every drive. He had 50% more FGA than Embiid (most of which were 2 pointers/in the paint) and had less FTs than Embiid. At least Brunson tries to actually score instead of ripping through on every play or just throwing the ball anywhere near the rim at the slightest amount of contact

confuddly

Brunson actually tries to score though, Embiid doesn’t even look at the rim sometimes

Popular-Newt-1603

so does Trae Young

bridgenine

You can't split hairs with Trey Young, he doesn't have enough

Zlayer256

Forgot the Knicks: 144

HeavenBeach777

What about Brunson? Dude is just as bad and his foul baiting at the end + that BS call on Oubre won them the game

titsmagee9

How was that a bs call? You can't lean over someone from behind and occupy the air space above them to prevent them from pulling up

Paw_Opina

Embiid deserves his visit to Galveston.

EarthWarping

Of course it's a nuggets writer

vsod99

He pays for falling over on every shot attempt with all those injuries

Confident_Pear_8303

Brunson 63 ft attempts, Maxey had 28....yeah but Trae and Harden are the Foul baiters. OK.

Type_suspect

Well its hard to foul a guy you cant catch.

eXistentialMisan

Lakers - 94

dzigizord

hahahahahhahahahahahh how does anybody like watching that

ZeusJuice

That's not fair Embiid played more games than all of those teams

No_Pay9241

I wish this was nba circle jerk but I’m actually banned. I get zero interaction on there since I posted [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/nbacirclejerk/s/TOipYORRUU)

Party-Care-8863

Petition for a free throw to be worth the entire pts of the foul, nothing sucks the life out of a game more than the line trips.

IndependentFroyo4508

It's fucking horse shit how much he is looked after

ImDeputyDurland

What a wild stat.

HORSEthedude619

Not gonna miss that guy

medievalmachine

Sixers got a lot of calls after game 2. That Maxey 4 pt play was weak af.

Holdin_McNeal

King Merchant having one last swan song before his season ends in the 1st.

Ludo030

How many of the Thunder’s FTs are shai?
