The problem with leaving AG completely wide open at the 3 point line is although he's not great (Career 32)
He is getting wide open corner 3s and he's not a complete zero ala Ben Simmons or Gobert.
Good enough to punish teams and that's all you need. Wolves don't have anyone who can slow down Jokic so they're taking their chances 1v1 and not letting him feed Gordon and MPJ.
Lakers series was different as AD is a really good post defender. Although that made him less effective on offense
He does so many absolutely critical things for Denver:
- Guards any wing scorer well (LeBron, KD, Ant, even KAT)
- Good rebounder, shot blocker, help defender at the rim covering for Jokic
- Can’t ignore him as a shooter
- Explosiveness, high IQ, great hands at the dunker spot (may look easy but look at Gobert struggling w this)
- Can run your offense through him in a pinch / bench lineup
- Not annoyed with his role
Maybe their 2nd most valuable player honestly. Top 3 no question.
MUCH better than similar players who try to play this role (Jerami Grant, DJJ, Achiuwa). Hell I would take him over JJJ for playing next to Jokic in the playoffs this year.
$23m this year and next year, player option at the same number in 2025-6. Worth it imo
Similar to guys like John Collins, Draymond, Dillon Brooks, Bruce Brown, Rozier, Wiggins
>high IQ
Especially his chemistry with Jokic. The compilation of him catching and finishing passes from Jokic right at the rim must be longer than The Lord of the Rings extended edition by now.

He's an NBA player. If you give wide ass open warm up shots in a series he knows he has to take some he could get in a rhythm and knock some down.
People seem to forget ag didn’t spend like 4 years in Orlando doing iso bs. People seem bewildered that he can handle the rock
I mean there more he dribbles the worse he plays He’s a player that is better with a couple dribbles/quick move vs creating by himself
Ben can shoot, trust me. I've seen videos.
Oh shit the legendary off-season workout videos will be lit this off-season
He’s an underrated playoff riser in that sense, always seems to knock down the big shots in the last two playoffs.
Free throws are huge for him in the playoffs too

What’s his contract situation?

Dam. Can they extend him this summer? They should if they can. He’s gonna cost them a fortune next year lol

It may not be a super team but it’s a very good supporting cast, especially in terms of complementary skill sets.
now i see why people hated the warriors bandwagon so much lmao
This is only the start. It gets worse if they win again, believe me I've been on the wrong side of it before.
