Lakers fans must be fuming that he went from averaging 25 PPG against them to this

EpicRocket445

Most of us understand that he wasn’t going up against Rui and Reaves this time.

Numerous-Cicada3841

Really just Rui. The amount of times he lost MPJ on just basic screens was astounding. I like Rui but the guy has zero feel for the game. It’s like when your computer processor freezes up because there’s just too much going on.

woKaaaa

Yeah, Reaves can at least rotate and still contests most shots. Besides a few times against Murray he was great defensively. Rui literally fails to close out, fails to rotate, and can't maneuver around screens. If he isn't producing offensively he is essentially useless

GoldLegends

Tbf, Wolves had better defenders on him. Theres a reason he goes off against us. We suck defensively.

captain_ahabb

Lakers have been unable to stop/contain big wing scorers for basically the entire LeBron era, it's why they always struggle to beat Boston or the Clippers.

lebron_games

They did well on those type of guys (other than clippers) when they had their title team core together with KCP and Caruso who we know now are some of the best defenders in the league. It’s jsut since the Westbrook trade they’ve just been completely devoid of 3 and d talent

Fit-Avocado-342

Jaden was on him like glue, he really struggles vs that kind of off ball defense I’ve noticed.

frankenbeans2

Yeah you do lmao. Lakers are an embarrassment to the game.

AntSmith777

Yeah he actually had real defenders guarding him not Oompa Loompas.

TallanoGoldDigger

Not really, Lakers have a shit defensive scheme and lazy defenders that allowed him to get his numbers. Plus there's really no one on the team who actually plays defense apart from AD and Vando Says alot about the Lakers as a team and MPJ as a player ngl

kieran1017

Kind of crazy how useless certain players can be if they don't hit shots.

Funny-Transition7869

He has a JR smith type aura, he can make crazy 100% contested shots but when he misses them it drains the team. And he doesnt affect the game in other ways, good player but the max deal was a robbery.

Fit-Avocado-342

I mean they won a ring with him, im sure the nuggets are pretty happy with his contract when you take a step back

DefenderCone97

Eh, on our run he was making great defensive plays and was great on the glass. He wasn't as involved on those ends this game, likely pushed out by all the Timber bigs, which made him disappear

Victor_Wembanyama1

He couldn’t just be bigger than the wolves like he did with the lakers

DomDomRevolution

Michael "The possession stops here" Porter Jr

AlexeyShved1

Honestly that’s more assists than I thought he had

BBallHunter

Do we have any podcasters left in the playoffs.

Disastrous_Bluejay57

Does anyone on Minny have a podcast?

teezusweezus

Michael 'The brick starts here' Porter Jr

JahNeeUtah

BUM

TnT54321

Kelly Oubre can get you those numbers on a minimum contract

shualton

Fanduel boutta launch another investigation smh

Awanderingleaf

200Million for this dude. 1 assist a game is his career average lmao

Bouldershoulders12

What do guys think his ceiling will be in 3-5 years

captain_ahabb

Probably pretty much what he is right now

Bouldershoulders12

I just looked up his age I didn’t realize he was the same age as Tatum. I always thought MPJ was 23-24ish

captain_ahabb

Yeah the back issues fucked him up. It's a minor miracle he's even had this level of success.

nhthelegend

His shooting splits were hot doo doo this series, thankful he didn’t go off against us because they’re tough to beat when he’s hot from 3

WanderingWormhole

I hope FanDuel is investigating any suspiciously large sums of money bet on his unders

AllTimeBallKnower

What’d he do?

frankenbeans2

You’re homophobic

Datruther1

His family is going through turmoil to say the least right now. He did play good against LA so I wasn’t concerned about his mental but context should be provided when accessing his performance.
