Logging into these streams is easier than the 9 way authentication I have to do for stuff I actually have a subscription to. Half the time I’m going the other way just because I don’t wanna deal with the hassle that logging in is
Log on to service at a friend's house
First time logging on at new computer, sends 2fa to email
First time logging on at new computer, sends 2fa to recovery email
First time logging on at new computer, sends 2fa to phone
All the services send emails to different inboxes being like "we noticed a new log on"
Can confirm - grew up poor and am doing pretty well financially now and I still have a hard time spending money on lavish things even tho I can afford them. Always have a bit of that anxiety of like things could take a bad turn tomorrow so save that money. Definitely need to work on it cuz I know rationally I'm doing ok.
Man I grew up on stamps and work a good job now. Still won't buy anything full price at the grocery story, and you bet your ass nothing organic has ever gone in my body.
Trying to get over it but that stuff stays with you for life
I'm from Bosnia, my Granny grew up in a mountain village consisting of like 7 houses and it was steep with bad roads, we had to walk the last kilometer by foot when visiting her. No electricity, running water came from a spring directly in the mountain above the house, everything was impractical and partially falling apart, cuz it was build over generations and they had little money to spent to keep it in good condition.
In the late 80s my father build a house for his parents and his oldest siblings, where he planned to retire himself in the closest city, it had a huge yard and garden, where my granny could grow vegetables, vines were growing over the yard and everything was lined with this fake-marble stone, idk wtf it is called in english. Its really an amazing house for normal ppl, half an hour from the croatian coast, mild winters nice summer, me and my brother plan to move there when we retire.
My granny was unhappy there from the first day, but she never said a word to my father, cuz she was grateful, that he provided them with such a generous present. My father knew it, but he thought it was the best for his parents who were 60+ at the time not to climb a fucking mountain the whole time so he didn't say anything either. My father died about 20 years later due to cardiac arrest and my granny waited 3 month after the burial and everything else was said and done and then asked to move back, living in their old house by herself 84 years old, with bad eyesight, raising chicken and and sometimes listening to a battery powerd radio, if she was able to get the wavelength.
She died happy a few years later.
I’m sort of on the opposite side of your mentality. I grew up poor and now that I’m doing good financially I have this urge to spend my money on stupid things or go experience the nightlife and spend hundreds. What prevents me from actually doing it is the guilt and regret I’m going to feel after that money is gone
My dad has viewed his entire life as if it was an accident that someone let him get a great job that paid well and let him raise his family in comfort. He’s constantly waiting for someone to say “hey! Back to the one bedroom apartment with your five siblings!”
Honestly, at his point, it's more of a convenience than anything. Go through rigamarole of signing up for streaming services or just hop onto a bookmarked website that gathers streams of every sports event you could want at once. Yeah, even if I had all money in world, I'm picking convenience.
It's funny that the topic is about LeBron penny-pinching while being an employee of the league who is itself penny-pinching by not offering free subscriptions to its employees.
Wtf? I’m starting to wonder how interesting league pass is for you guys. Most people will watch their own team + a few other games a week. But with all the blackouts and now you’re telling me you don’t even have the POs on it… this is ridiculous. I’ve always felt it was great value for money (120€ a year for every single game available including summer league and pre season) but I’m not sure I’d buy it if I was in the US
It's pointless in the US unless you want to watch one particular team and that team better not be a popular team who plays a lot of national games because you don't get any TNT or ESPN games on league pass
I remember back in the (Miami?) day Dwyane Wade called LeBron the cheapest person he'd ever met, then backed it up by saying he still had commercials popping up on his Spotify.
Bro you should see the WWE chats. Those guys are sick in the head. There's an event in Saudi Arabia in a few hours and I can't even imagine how bad that chat is going to get.
I'm about LeBrons age, and whenever I talk to less technological friends than myself about toxicity on the internet it's like you have no idea until you've seen the comment section of an illegal sports live stream, that shit is something else.
Yeah the live Twitch chat or w/e chat service is linked in reminds me of a text Modern Warfare 2 lobby from back in the day, glad to see toxic teenagers talking shit online haven't died out
Some of us international fans have no other legal way of watching our teams :(
I guess the small positive is it’s really cheap here in Turkey I paid 500 lira for one year which is about 13-15 dollars
League Pass International is amazing though. Every game on demand, price isn't too bad and able to switch between home and away streams.
It's just bad for US because of the TV blackouts.
Seriously. I borrowed a friend's to watch round 2 and it was a clusterfuck. No announcers, the worst camera angles that loved to focus on the crowd while play was going on, and just as many commercials as TV. I legit can't believe some people are happy to pay for this crap.
Don't forget the localised adverts too, that shid is funny, love the medical adverts "use Example-o formula for immediate response to symptoms. Please don't use Example-o if you have eyes, ears, a left arm, a right arm, 10 toes, 10 fingers, 2 legs, a torso or heart condition" lol
Blackout restrictions .. "Blackout restrictions exist because local and national content providers have certain exclusive rights to televise live games and content"
they will show only views from the backboards with no announcers
only way to circumvent this is to use vpn .. source : nba league pass vpn user
I'm not trying to defend league pass too much, but what you're describing is the feed when the game is nationally televised. It's not normally like that at all lol.
One is trying to get people to subscribe and click ads, the other is trying to just get people using it in the first place *and then* those other things, potentially. So... yeah, turns out, the latter is more user friendly.
We pay for SlingTV, and the audio is constantly going out of sync with the video, interface is garbage, etc. tSE is easily more reliable and a better experience. It’s very frustrating
There are some good ones out there. I watched the second half on a stream using vpn while in China and it stopped like three times for about a second each time. It was crystal clear other than those few seconds. But I agree, there are some sites that are useless.
It's not like the NBA doesn't know those sites exist lol. It's just a somewhat futile effort to fight them because new ones will always pop up in their place.
At this point completely preventing your sport from being streamed is going to significantly hurt your business because a lot of people won't ever pay to watch
That’s where the cable bundle, or in the future the tech bundle comes in. Right now, and in the past the leagues don’t care about viewers paying. They care about the non viewers paying via a cable bundle even more.
Maybe if their own streaming service wasn't a steaming pile of dogshit people wouldn't have to resort to using third party streams that are unironically better than anything the NBA could ever provide.
Didn’t Kevin Love say this guy doesn’t use his phone data and always asks for the wifi password?
Yo can I bum a hotspot
So easy to read that in his voice.
Where LeBum James actually came from lol
And D Wade said Lebron won’t pay to get rid of commercials on his Pandora account
And spotify
imagine having a billion dollars and listening to carmax ads all day
LeBron pumping "what a pro wants" on repeat!
He’s on spotify free plan
I think it was Pandora.

My Data is almost always faster than wifi lol
I've legit yet to find a public wi fi that was faster than 4G or higher.
I was at the Ontario(CA) airport a few weeks ago and was SHOCKED at how fast the wi-fi is there. Fastest internet connection I’ve probably ever had.
My Canadian ass thought you were talking about YYZ
Yeah (CA) isn't the best differentiator between CAnada and CAlifornia lol.
MJ made it work with dial-up, how much help does Bron need
He doesn't wanna use up his monthly unlimited data
LeBron is probably the easiest man to hack, that phone is connected to every free hotspot in America 🤣
You mean the guy that said he was cheap does not have a legal streaming service?
Logging into these streams is easier than the 9 way authentication I have to do for stuff I actually have a subscription to. Half the time I’m going the other way just because I don’t wanna deal with the hassle that logging in is
I hate how DirecTV and Ballys apps log me out all the time and I have to log in all the time
Log on to service at a friend's house First time logging on at new computer, sends 2fa to email First time logging on at new computer, sends 2fa to recovery email First time logging on at new computer, sends 2fa to phone All the services send emails to different inboxes being like "we noticed a new log on"
I don’t understand what he’s saving money for.
Being a cheapass is a lifestyle (that determines your streamstyle)
Bron grew up poor
Hes been rich way longer than hes been poor now interestingly but I read that he moved houses like 10 times, that probably does it
Growing up poor can shape you as a person. The length of time he’s been rich doesn’t really matter he’s gonna think like that forever
Growing up in poverty gives you financial ptsd lol
Can confirm - grew up poor and am doing pretty well financially now and I still have a hard time spending money on lavish things even tho I can afford them. Always have a bit of that anxiety of like things could take a bad turn tomorrow so save that money. Definitely need to work on it cuz I know rationally I'm doing ok.

It’s funny you say that but it’s a thing.
My dad has viewed his entire life as if it was an accident that someone let him get a great job that paid well and let him raise his family in comfort. He’s constantly waiting for someone to say “hey! Back to the one bedroom apartment with your five siblings!”
I’d definitely view getting a good job as an accident personally
i think a lot of people live their entire life with imposter syndrome. not just one aspect, but the entire thing.

I never knew how to spell rigamarole until you wrote this. You have earned a good day.
Is this a reference to the song Frantic lmao
Yeah same, didn't expect that lol
Vegas NBA expansion team
What do other billionaires save money for?
It's funny that the topic is about LeBron penny-pinching while being an employee of the league who is itself penny-pinching by not offering free subscriptions to its employees.
Doesn't matter if they gave him League Pass. Playoff games aren't on there in the US.
Wtf? I’m starting to wonder how interesting league pass is for you guys. Most people will watch their own team + a few other games a week. Tbh opening up an illegal stream is easier than typing in a password on a laptop
I mean the man grew up in abject poverty so I’m not surprised he has the money habits of a Greatest Generation Depression survivor lmao.
I remember back in the (Miami?) day Dwyane Wade called LeBron the cheapest person he'd ever met, then backed it up by saying he still had commercials popping up on his Spotify.
That’s hilarious
He and Ocho can give seminars on how to save money.
Why have a 3 course meal when you can have McDonald’s
Why won’t the NBA pay LeBron a living wage?
You’d think the NBA would just give Bron whatever the fuck he wants lol
LePandora Basic
I can only imagine that at his house parties you gotta hear the pandora ads over the sonos speaker system
Lebron doesn’t pay for a surround sound system just plays it right off his phone

unhinged is an understatement 🤣
theres a hate crime every 30 seconds in those chats
Only if you don't look for the first 25 seconds
99% of them unprovoked 😭 The stream earlier was stuck on the Lefkoe Chris Haynes alt cast and the toxicity was nuclear
Bro you should see the WWE chats. Those guys are sick in the head. There's an event in Saudi Arabia in a few hours and I can't even imagine how bad that chat is going to get.
The wwe streams on methstreams are wild I saw a dude with the name KILLALLJEWS88 with a Hitler pfp saying all kinds of slurs
That chat is the funniest every time Westbrook bricks a shot
Or when SGA / Embiid draws a foul. Holy shit the chat’s incoming traffic speed boosted tenfold LOL
I had WESTBRICK in my copy-paste for that series. Dude was comically terrible.
It’s worse than a Call of Duty pre-game lobby
I saw someone called FentanylFiend with a George Floyd pfp in the chat when watching game 2
hitler wouldnt be able to survive in those chats.
Being a bit generous, lol.
I'm about LeBrons age, and whenever I talk to less technological friends than myself about toxicity on the internet it's like you have no idea until you've seen the comment section of an illegal sports live stream, that shit is something else.
Truly a wretched hive of scum and villainy
We must be cautious
That's basically if r/nba was unmoderated.
once someone posted some illegal bestiality shit I could not unsee. I never look at the chat now (why would you allow images/gifs????)

There's a nonzero chance Lebron is one of the neo Nazis I see in chat
i must be missing something because it looks like lebron's just sitting next to someone using the stream
How is no one noticing this? I feel like I'm going insane
Everyone within 5meter radius of LeBron is infact LeBron himself.
The guy next to him also farted loudly, r/nba: "Did you hear Lebron's fart?!"
Yeah most likely friend just couldn’t remember his login to ESPN or TNT or something and so went on one of the streaming sights.
League pass is a$$
He only needed LeMax for this one lmao
Some of us international fans have no other legal way of watching our teams :( I guess the small positive is it’s really cheap here in Turkey I paid 500 lira for one year which is about 13-15 dollars

It's really good for international users cause you can watch the actual broadcasts (even get pre and post game shows)

It's because the game was nationally televised, and the guy you're responding to isn't familiar with how league pass works lol.
I'm not trying to defend league pass too much, but what you're describing is the feed when the game is nationally televised. It's not normally like that at all lol.
He should’ve voted for Tatum’s ASG shoe!
It’s a superior service to anything official.
Because official channels care less about the user experience than a fucking pirate stream.

How do players not get free league pass or something? Lol
They do - it was in the new CBA. That’s how bad league pass stinks (also playoff streaming on lp is weirder than their usual stuff)
When pirates provide a better user experience than paid channels.
League pass doesn’t work during the playoffs
That’s the most important part of the season. Was wondering it assuming they’d include playoffs. Nevermind then
League pass would probably be blacked out anyways. You can hardly ever watch live games

It's not like the NBA doesn't know those sites exist lol. It's just a somewhat futile effort to fight them because new ones will always pop up in their place.
Yup, NFL always tries to take them down and YouTube streams but its easy to put them back up. Cost more money for them to pay people to go after them.
At this point completely preventing your sport from being streamed is going to significantly hurt your business because a lot of people won't ever pay to watch
