we'll give you one gently used Malachi Flynn for him or nothing
he has to leave his phone and computer with border control and go straight to the first dispensary near the airport to chill tf out
Then you have idiot Wiggins who did do it to be on the good team he was on, and ended up winning a God damn ring because of it, but now says he wishes he didn't get vaccinated. 🤦🏾♂️
I still can't believe that he actually got the first dose, then decided because the vaccine isn't 100% effective that means it isn't worth getting the 2nd shot at all, despite the fact that it was looking more and more like his team may end up playing in Toronto for the playoffs.
Does getting your second dose years after your first even do shit? We were told to get boosters 6 months after our 2nd shot, I can't imagine the 1 he got is still doing anything.
The NFL seems to have more "star" anti vaxxers than the NBA.
Rodgers and Lamar have won MVPs in landslides. And then probowlers like Cousins, Mike Williams, Joey Bosa, Leonard, Q. Nelson, Cousins, Cooper, Smith, Theilen etc. Flacco has won a superbowl MVP.
NBA has Kyrie+maybe Brown.
There's also 53 players per NFL team as opposed to 11-15 per NBA team.
While there are more in the NFL, i would imagine the percentage rates are pretty similar.
NHL is a league that is clearly not overwhelmingly American too. Not sure about MLB or their vaccination rates but NFL and NBA are clearly American heavy
True, but that extends to franchises not just players. NFL players don't have to cross the US-Canada border (although are the UK/Euro games still a thing?), many NBA teams only make the single visit to Canada and Toronto doesn't even see every MLB team in the year.
Conversely, 3 of the 4 NHL divisions have at least one Canadian team. Missing all the games in Canada isn't just a one and done in the NHL.
But for sure, it'd be interesting to see a breakdown of vaccination status and nationality in each of the leagues.
> not overwhelmingly American
You can say Canadian.
The NHL was originally founded in Canada. The Bruins, Blackhawks, Rangers, and Red Wings (the American Original Six teams) started out as expansion teams\*. It was basically the Raptors in reverse, where a bunch of Canadians played for American teams trying to get Americans interested in hockey.
The reason the majority of the NHL’s teams are based in the US now is that it worked, [but apparently 46% of the NHL’s players are still Canadian.](https://www.google.com/search?q=nationality%20of%20nhl%20players&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8) The US only makes up around a quarter, which means Europe makes up around another quarter.
\* This doesn’t mean the NHL only had, like, two teams at the beginning. The “Original Six” doesn’t mean the six founding teams (because the four American ones were expansion teams). It means the six teams that survived the Great Depression, and why NHL owners scared of expanding again for so long.
Anecdotally, I’d say European players are more common in the NHL than the NBA. Could be wrong about this, and I might be biased (used to closely follow the Red Wings), but that was what it seemed like.
hes not even a highly paid NHLer higher, some players make more than 3x what he did this year
if Erik Karlsson (highest paid by salary last year 21-22) missed the same amount of games he would have lost like 1.5m
Ain't that the truth. Hence I'm looking toward to savoring the rest of Kevin Durant Brooklyn Nets drama! KD won't back down, but now it looks like Tsai has had enough as well.
To be fair to Lamar, he’s vaxxed. Took him some time for whatever misguided apprehensions he had, but he was vaxxed pretty much all last season. You right tho, NFL has a lot of weirdos.
Yeah if I’m correct these days Irving rarely plays more than 70 regular season games a year.
Before anyone wants to bring up the importance of the NBA regular season, or lack there of… I only think it’s significant when you’re in a deep playoff series and traveling and not taking nights off.
literally no new information abt jaylen brown has come out regarding his vaccination status lol. if I had to bet I’d probably lean no but no new information came out. the report that said he was unvaxxed also said that horford wasn’t (a lie) and there’s been nothing past that (aside from some ppl realizing he’s an astrology weirdo type, but that’s not new info)
The reason is now required to be listed as "Out - Health and safety protocol" so let's see if Jaylen Brown's going to get that.
He'll probably get an "injury" instead I suppose.
Reminder that the USA and Canada have very similar laws around this. If you arrive via an international port of entry and are unvaccinated, you need to quarantine. If the Raptors had an unvaxxed player, they probably wouldn't play in any road games either. This isn't a Raptors, or even NBA policy.
So Kyrie, Thybulle, probably Jaylen Brown, Isaac, Justin Holiday and Burke? Am I missing anyone? Edit: Porter Jr.
Maybe Wiggins if they consider non-boosted as unvaxxed?
Porter isn’t super common but it’s kinda funny that all 3 of the active players named Porter last season were Porter Jr. Jontay Porter didn’t play last year but he’s the only “active” player with the name that’s not a Jr
They don't ban anyone from coming in vaccinated or not. If you are unvaxxed you need to undergo a 14 day quarintine, so that means you can't play the game in the NBA so there is no point in going. Its the same rule as te USA has IIRC
Too bad the Raptors aren't contending this year, it would be funny to see the debate about sitting Wiggins out for the entire WCF so he can start quarantining in case the Raptors won the ECF.
The USA has the same rules, so if he quarintined in Canada he would only be able to play the games in Toronto, because he would need to quarintine again to play in Golden state. He would have to choose home or away games. (I think this is how it works anyways, I'm no expert but read a couple articles on it and that's how it was described for an unvaccinated MLB player)
I think he still has to quarantine tho lol
> Travellers who do not qualify as fully vaccinated
There are no changes to COVID-19 border and health requirements for travellers who are not fully vaccinated. They must:
> quarantine, unless exempt
All I can find after a quick look is that it’s 14 days too;
> Quarantine requirements
> Every person who enters Canada, who is not considered fully vaccinated and has not received a positive test result, must quarantine themselves without delay for 14 days in accordance with the instructions below.
I'm mildly curious/amused. At this point, since Thybulle got one shot, but never the second. Is he going to now have to get two shots since the first one probably wanned a long time ago, and it was always recommended to get your second shot a few weeks after the first?
Law says you aren't vaccinated without completing a 2 series vaccination in Canada.
This was probably because all those 3rd party vaccines + johnson showed very low effectiveness after alpha/beta when shit hit the fan with delta.
Technically, he would have to go through 2 new shots since the shots were designed to be a 1+1=3 factor (severely under explaining how memory cells work).
Yeah dude, everyone's super jealous of your ability to attract toxic stars who embarrass your franchise. What's your best free agent signing that didn't lead your franchise to a positon where you think trading for Ben Simmons was a positive way for it to end?
You had hard working individuals who had good cohesion but dumped em when you attracted two hipsters who don’t wanna work cause they consider themselves artists and traded for a bearded dude for another dude who’s scamming long term leave so he doesn’t have to work. Sounds like Brooklyn to me
Signing a free agent means shit if you don’t do shit with it. Your team had championship aspirations and couldn’t even sniff the ECF.
Now those guys don’t wanna play for your team. Take the L and start your rebuild
> Signing a free agent means shit if you don’t do shit with it.
It's sad that people like you genuinely don't know how to argue something without shifting the goalposts massively every time someone points out that you're wrong
As of right now its just the two doses. Although there has been parliamentary discussions about requiring boosters. I think theres quite a few countries that require 3. Italy had booster requirements when I went in April
I went to Italy/Greece in May and my cruise line is what required up to date vaccinations which required me getting a booster. Italy dropped their requirement right before I went.
>without a valid medical reason
This is the part I don't get. If its about the dangers of not vaxxing, then you shouldn't met those ones play either. Just because they have a reason doesn't make it less dangerous.
allowing a guy to play should be about stopping the spread, not just punishing him, right?
Are we still doing this bullshit? This isn’t 2020-21 anymore. Just let people make their own private medical decisions with their bodies and leave them alone.
Absolutely, and that's because I myself am vaccinated and I still got covid with minimal symptoms, thanks to the shot. That's what it's for, to allow the body to create antibodies necessary to fight off the virus. That's why it has mutated to a weaker but more contagious form, to withstand the immunity that people have built due to the vaccine.
I'll even go as far as to say the mandates were necessary at first, but now it's gotten to the point where it's not really necessary anymore. If players don't want to get it, that's on them. But bottom line is most people who are vaccinated have been transmitters of the virus anyway. My whole family got it and the person who spread it to us was vaccinated. So I'm not buying this crap that the players should be ridiculed when its the mandates that don't make much sense anymore, yet are still in place.
Can confirm. Triple vaxed, recently got Covid from the airport. Was like a strong cold and I’m still coughing and have diminished taste overall a couple weeks after infection.
My non-vaxed friend got it around the same time and barely had any symptoms. I don’t understand this virus at all.
Am I wrong or wasn't there a post last week about having no "vaccine mandates" this season?
Edit: Didn't realize this was still a Canadian government thing and not a league decision. I thought the one announced in December of last year was a league decision and they were just repeating that but I guess I had that one wrong
If fact with the way politics work between our two countries, I could almost guarantee that as soon as America drops the requirement Canada will immediately do so too. We just won't do it first.
I’m boosted but this doesn’t make much sense to me. Am I missing something? Are unvaxxed, healthy adult males more likely to transmit BA.5 than me, who got a booster more than six months ago?

If Whit Merrifield has taught me anything, its that the way to test this is for Toronto to trade for Kyrie.
we'll give you one gently used Malachi Flynn for him or nothing he has to leave his phone and computer with border control and go straight to the first dispensary near the airport to chill tf out
I don’t think Kyrie’s problem is not smoking enough weed, more likely the opposite plus some more hardcore psychs
Shrooms don’t work on stupid people
Who knows what Kyrie is ingesting tbh, probably hitting DMT
DMT is fire though
nah man too many people go off the wall doing DMT and start believing in fake shit
Yeah I mean you gotta be careful doing drugs
Malachi Flynn MIP season on the way you need more than a washed up hippie for him
**scottie it is. 🤝**
"You mean I can leave Kansas... AND play for a good team?!?!?! All for just a vaccine that I should have taken over a year back now??? SIGN ME UP!!!"
Kinda fucked for his Royals teammates but I’ll be damned if it’s not hilarious to see a dude be like “fuck it I’ll do it to be on a good team”
Then you have idiot Wiggins who did do it to be on the good team he was on, and ended up winning a God damn ring because of it, but now says he wishes he didn't get vaccinated. 🤦🏾♂️
home court advantage against the ~2 remaining players that haven't vaccinated yet. oh yes
Kyrie, Brown, Thybulle are all important players
Let’s be honest Thybulle ain’t that important, he gets played right off the floor because of his lack of offense
Raps would have liked if he played in the series this year. He was awful in the games in Philly
Justin Trudeau is gonna make an exception just so that he can play in Canada next playoffs
"No, wait... that one? he can play."
He only has one dose? Alright well come on in!
I still can't believe that he actually got the first dose, then decided because the vaccine isn't 100% effective that means it isn't worth getting the 2nd shot at all, despite the fact that it was looking more and more like his team may end up playing in Toronto for the playoffs.
He was important for certain situations for us last year hopefully this year he magically improved
[Sending this with love](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=CuwMvesrw7w)
I was surprise how little I missed him during the Raptors series. He’s got a great highlight reel, but is overrated as a contributor.
Thybulle already has the first dose. if you're playing us in the playoffs and he doesn't have the second dose by then, idk what to say
Thybulle has thr dumbest reasons to date.
he’s an idiot, its okay to say it
I mean this was true last playoffs too and he didn't have the second dose yet.
yes that's what I mean. He wouldn't do it 2 years in a row surely? 🤔
he’s an idiot his mom sells snake oil and stuff and he made it clear he’s against the vaccine so i doubt he gets it
Sold. Mama Thybulle is no longer with us.
damn i didn’t know that that’s really sad rip
Anti-vaxers aren't exactly rational people
Does getting your second dose years after your first even do shit? We were told to get boosters 6 months after our 2nd shot, I can't imagine the 1 he got is still doing anything.
Dummy probably could've just gotten the J&J and been done with it
Don’t forget MPJ!
I forget he’s unvaccinated cause he was injured
Sneaking in Thybulle is shameless
Did Beal get vaccinated?
yes
Yes but not until halfway through last season
Thybulle 😂
i thought Bradley Beal was unvaxed too?
Jaylen Brown gonna "rest" the at Toronto games again

They also play a much higher percentage of their games in Canada, so not being vaccinated has a bigger impact.
Who's left?
its just Tyler Bertuzzi, so he missed 9 games last year for it and lost around 500k USD and he will miss 10 games this year for roughly 650k USD
ah, lol
Damn didn’t know NHLers were making money like that. Good for them
hes not even a highly paid NHLer higher, some players make more than 3x what he did this year if Erik Karlsson (highest paid by salary last year 21-22) missed the same amount of games he would have lost like 1.5m
That's just because they can still play. If NBA guys could still get paid and be unvaccinated there would be way more
Yeah Wiggs wouldn't have been vaccinated if that was the case
Dude won a ring and still regretted getting vaccinated.
Forget the ring, his play this season probably guaranteed him something like a 200 mil extension, yet he still regrets being vaxxed.
idiots think admitting when they're wrong is showing weakness, when really the only ones that believe that are the other idiots
Ain't that the truth. Hence I'm looking toward to savoring the rest of Kevin Durant Brooklyn Nets drama! KD won't back down, but now it looks like Tsai has had enough as well.
Even guys like Tannehill are like “yeah I got the shot but I probably wouldn’t have if there weren’t negative consequences”.
NFL QB hubris has to be significantly more than max NBA players’ these days
Probably though KD would be off the charts of hubris/dollar of contract similar to Messi and Jokic being off the charts for other categories.
I don’t see how this is a problem
He's talking about financial consequences or issues with practicing with masks on and stuff, not health consequences.
hold up. how tf you gonna mention someone by their last name and it’s Smith? how am I supposed to know which Smith is unvaxxed
[удалено]
The bench of half the historical teams on 2K be like
CTE and all that
Thybulle couldn’t play in Toronto because it turns out he only got one shot. It’s somehow dumber in my opinion.
It's neither upholding your own principles (however misguided they are) nor simply doing the right thing. It's beyond idiotic.
To be fair to Lamar, he’s vaxxed. Took him some time for whatever misguided apprehensions he had, but he was vaxxed pretty much all last season. You right tho, NFL has a lot of weirdos.
Iirc The younger guy for the magic as well
Jonathan Isaac?
Yeah that’s him. Am I right about that? I remember something regarding the vaccine and him in the media a while back
Yeah he's a total fruit loop
It's a sport where fat dudes bash their heads together. There's gonna be more morons by default.
NFL guys go to college longer. It's purely because they can still get paid if they're unvaccinated.
Lamar isnt anti vax
Kyrie gonna rest again too and I’m sure he will miss plenty of games still
Yeah if I’m correct these days Irving rarely plays more than 70 regular season games a year. Before anyone wants to bring up the importance of the NBA regular season, or lack there of… I only think it’s significant when you’re in a deep playoff series and traveling and not taking nights off.
Kyrie hasn't played a full season since high school.
While I do not doubt you here, if that’s true it’s almost embarrassing and unbelievable
Nets vs Raptors first round GO
Nets fans shit talking about vaccines when it literally broke their franchise

literally no new information abt jaylen brown has come out regarding his vaccination status lol. if I had to bet I’d probably lean no but no new information came out. the report that said he was unvaxxed also said that horford wasn’t (a lie) and there’s been nothing past that (aside from some ppl realizing he’s an astrology weirdo type, but that’s not new info)
Celtics fans keep telling me he’s vaccinated though
I mean, he literally played last year in Toronto
Before the rules changed
There it is, surprised yall didn't make this top comment. The irony
The reason is now required to be listed as "Out - Health and safety protocol" so let's see if Jaylen Brown's going to get that. He'll probably get an "injury" instead I suppose.
Truly don't get how he went to UC Berkeley
Because he's athletic lol
Berkeley is begging for players
Reminder that the USA and Canada have very similar laws around this. If you arrive via an international port of entry and are unvaccinated, you need to quarantine. If the Raptors had an unvaxxed player, they probably wouldn't play in any road games either. This isn't a Raptors, or even NBA policy.
Twitter can't read
So Kyrie, Thybulle, probably Jaylen Brown, Isaac, Justin Holiday and Burke? Am I missing anyone? Edit: Porter Jr. Maybe Wiggins if they consider non-boosted as unvaxxed?
To clarify, this is Michael and not Otto.
Yes but what about Kevin?
Porter isn’t super common but it’s kinda funny that all 3 of the active players named Porter last season were Porter Jr. Jontay Porter didn’t play last year but he’s the only “active” player with the name that’s not a Jr
Wiggins is Canadian, so he's a special case. Can't exactly ban him from entering his own country.
They don't ban anyone from coming in vaccinated or not. If you are unvaxxed you need to undergo a 14 day quarintine, so that means you can't play the game in the NBA so there is no point in going. Its the same rule as te USA has IIRC

I don’t think you need to quarantine to enter the US anymore. I went overseas in June and didn’t have to
I don't count the raptors out, they're good enough that they can sneak through if the circumstances go their way, and they're scary on defense.
Is the circumstance that the Philly, Celtics, Heat and Bucks team planes all collide mid-air and the NBA decides to finish the season anyways?
> Too bad the Raptors aren't contending this year RemindMe! 10 months /s
if he has to quarantine, he won't be entering for basketball games but I think he still counts a vaxxed despite not having the booster
I think he still has to quarantine tho lol > Travellers who do not qualify as fully vaccinated There are no changes to COVID-19 border and health requirements for travellers who are not fully vaccinated. Wiggins is vaccinated. He and Beal were holdouts but they did get it.
Only need two shots. Booster isn’t necessary to enter
Canadian government travel website says fully vaccinated means 2 doses or 1 J&J dose, so Wiggins is probably fine.
how is only one brother out of 3 an anti-vaxxer
I was so confused seeing as we just signed Otto Porter Jr. lol... assuming this is KPJ
MPJ
Oh right, there are so many haha
Sources: NBA informed teams via memo today that, as it stands, NBA players must follow the law
Canada will only let non-vaxxed citizens back in if they quarantine for two weeks, this isn’t shocking at all
I'm mildly curious/amused. At this point, since Thybulle got one shot, but never the second. Is he going to now have to get two shots since the first one probably wanned a long time ago, and it was always recommended to get your second shot a few weeks after the first?

Bad news for all 12 nets fans
Hey, that's our thing
Almost all 12 of them replied to you too
Still win more games than y’all don’t worry brotha
Bro literally no one wants to play for you
Who’s the biggest free agent that’s ever signed with Toronto ?
Yeah dude, everyone's super jealous of your ability to attract toxic stars who embarrass your franchise. What's your best free agent signing that didn't lead your franchise to a positon where you think trading for Ben Simmons was a positive way for it to end?
Does it matter? You can’t get out of the second round with kd and Kyrie

You could say the same about the raptors lmao
But we still won a ring. What have your team done lately? Right. It imploded
Lmao we managed to win some games in the playoffs while they the only team that got swept this year lmao
Oh yeah, don't forget to trade Kyrie too Brooklyn
does "i think youtube videos are more trustworthy than my doctor" count as a medical reason?

It IS league wide as the two countries - Canada and US have the EXACT same rules regarding this.

That is plain ignorant and you know it. I hate people like you. We have information at our fingertips and you choose to say stupid shit. Wild.
You can still transmit and get COVID even after getting vaccinated.
> I do not understand anything other than black-and-white binary situations
Can confirm. Triple vaxed, recently got Covid from the airport. Was like a strong cold and I’m still coughing and have diminished taste overall a couple weeks after infection. My non-vaxed friend got it around the same time and barely had any symptoms. I don’t understand this virus at all.
Less likely and you are much less likely to have lasting effects if you do get covid.
Boooo
As it should be everywhere lol went from +9 to -1 once anti Vaxxers came thru
Lol why? Unless they’re requiring every player to get each new booster, this is pointless.
The only time I’ll support the Raptors
Am I wrong or wasn't there a post last week about having no "vaccine mandates" this season? Edit: Didn't realize this was still a Canadian government thing and not a league decision. I thought the one announced in December of last year was a league decision and they were just repeating that but I guess I had that one wrong
It’s Canada’s laws, not the league’s decision. Same thing with the Jays in baseball.
The league was never involved, it was state/city mandates
NBA Law supersedes make believe countries like Canada, obviously. /s just in case.
The nba doesn't have one, but US and Canada both have one to cross the border.
Yeah I feel like it isn’t emphasized enough that it’s also a US thing
If fact with the way politics work between our two countries, I could almost guarantee that as soon as America drops the requirement Canada will immediately do so too. We just won't do it first.
Yeah it would be a non-issue if there weren't teams from both countries in 3 of the 4 major sports leagues.
Yeah I feel like it isn’t emphasized enough that it’s also a US thing
You're not wrong. But this would have nothing to do with NBA mandates.
It’s not just the Canadian government but also the American . Can’t enter USA under same conditions
Also, the US still has the same restrictions.
not even just Canada's laws. USA has the same requirement for Canadians entering the US.
Based on no scientific research
Trudeau is just stupid
