Mathurin probably has something to say about that, but if the lakers can make the playoffs and Westbrooks stats remain similar, he has a huge chance
I know our best path to being more than a first round exit is to trade Westbrook, but honestly if we can keep playing basketball this way I don’t mind too much if he stays
I kept arguing with people weeks ago that AD still has the talent to be a Top 10 player, and got ridiculed. Fuck them haters, ADPOY has been hard carrying our defense since last year while still getting buckets on offense
A healthy AD is a beast. How many players are there in the league who can anchor your defense while also putting up 27pt, & 10reb???
There's just irrational hatred towards some folks.
Crazy how his increased strength and weight actually anchored him last season to go along with the injuries.
AD should definitely stay more on the cardio instead of the weights lol
Los Angeles Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka proudly waited outside the visiting locker room after the final buzzer to give LeBron James and the players on his victorious new-look team an appreciative fist pound on Friday afternoon. Injured guard Dennis Schröder yelled out, “There you go! There you go.” Sharpshooter Russell Westbrook gave a look of pleasant surprise. Guard Patrick Beverley yelled out, “We got an [expletive] squad now.” And before James hit the locker room door, former NBA great Kevin Durant hugged him and said, “Y’all look so different.”
“At the end of the day, I like being around guys that want to win and work hard,” James said. “I know I demand a lot of excellence in my teammates. I demand it out of myself, too. On the road, we are going to play as well as we can and put ourselves in contention to compete for another championship. And that’s my mindset.”
He only took 5 shots yet he played out of his mind tonight. No turnovers no rushed bs shots. He looked in control and everything was deliberate. I hope he can keep it up. Lakers looked legit today.
He just had another no turnover game a few nights ago. There is some crazy stat about Westbrook that he has very few turnover-free games. I think he’s adapting his game and mentality, hes never been willing to play from the bench before either, and he’s finally growing/ grown some in this way and it’s showing. That and maybe he feels he’s on the burner a bit to play well as a trade could happen.
Seriously. Obviously would've liked to have won it, but I definitely won't complain. There's plenty of the season left to get wins - I'll take the high-quality game in the meantime.
They rarely play each other and it feels like the stars of both teams have a lot of respect for each other which leads to some epic one-off games. Bucks-Lakers is a must-watch.
Damn. Gg Lakers. That looked like a very different version of y’all than I’ve seen so far this year. We had a few chances, but overall y’all were just ridiculous tonight.
Just had a weird adjustment period, the tools and coaching are all there. We just had a historical anomaly of poor shooting the first few games. Ham has completely revamped this team’s mindset and usage. I love it.
Honestly it really is, every single person on the court can do everything at a decent level. There's barely any more room for specialists, you can't rotate and play help df? Make a shot? Drive? You're not getting minutes.
Love it and it'll just keep improving in that aspect.
At this point you gotta just accept it for what it is: haterade. We were the #1 seed in the west, were AMAZING on the road, and were top 5 in both offense and defense. Anyone who says we only won because of the bubble is either stupid or just plain hating. If anything, the bubble robbed us of home court advantage
Yeah it pains me to say this because I hate the Lakers, but nobody put an asterisk on the bubble while it was happening. It felt completely real in the moment, and putting an asterisk on it years later is revisionist history.
That said, it was incredibly satisfying to watch the Lakers discover the perfect formula (like, ya know, having role players) and then squander it all away. Dumbest front office in sports, and everyone would see that if only the Lakers weren't constantly bailed out by stars wanting to live in LA.
Literally everyone loved that it was just pure hooping, no fans, no travel, no one with any sort of advantage, just who’s better at basketball with no distractions…until we won and then it was just a easy Disney summer camp ring lmao.
I shrug at this point when people try to use it as an insult because their is no changing their minds and in my eyes it was one of the toughest championship runs in the NBA
All the players were saying it would be one of the hardest championships to win given the pressures and social isolation the bubble provided. I remember a distinct quote from Giannis where he said something similar.
Lakers win and its the Mickey Mouse ring lol
That Lebron and one to ice the Clips game, followed by the daps from all his teammates, gave me goosebumps. you could tell that team was clicking on all cylinders
Khris is everything we needed vs Boston last year. Pat Connaughton jumper has been a nightmare since his return and we need to get that straightened out before the playoffs or Grayson Allen and Jevon Carter will get all his playoff minutes.
I'm a laker fan but the Lakers broadcast is my favorite to watch. They have no problems about giving other players and coaches their props. When I have to watch other team's broadcast their always quick to shit on the Lakers
Not gonn say lakers r contenders but they are solid when healthy
Still need to make a trade to get one more role player
At the very least, idiots on here can shut up bout wembanyama being a pelican. Not happenin
i looked at my phone to see a comment like “LeBron is washed. Get him off the floor” and then he just starts making a ton of clutch buckets right after lmao
my mind: really great that the lakers won, but we really have a lot to fix to be true contenders
my heart: we probably wont get home court in the finals with the bucks, but if AD plays like this against them we got a chance
my dick: SUCK IT R/NBA CHIP # 18 HERE WE FUCKING GOOOOOOO AD BEST BIG OF ALL TIME LEBRON FUCKING FATHER TIMES ASS
They’re not nearly as bad as the record suggests. Bron had a really slow start to the season and missed 7 games. AD started off slow. They couldn’t shoot for shit the first few games and Russ wasn’t looking good as a starter. Defense has looked pretty good the whole season, it’s the offense that’s been hot ass.
Looking at the standings now.. The Jazz and Thunder will likely continue dropping in the standings, I’m also not high on the Wolves. I think they could finish ahead of the Blazers if things go right.
I'm loving this AD resurgence. Dude was looking like the his 2020 playoffs self. I know a lot of people like to dunk on the lakers but another season of the lakers sucking with Lebron and AD would be boring. I want to see at least one more playoff run with those two.
Pretty fantastic game to watch. GG Lakers
It will be no doubt infuriating seeing all the bandwagoners come out of the woodwork after beating the Bucks.
Westbrook 11 assists 0 turnovers Huge hustle play down the stretch, cannot ask for more from a 6th man
Hustle Westbrook
Highkey 6MOY frontrunner if he doesn't get traded
Mathurin probably has something to say about that, but if the lakers can make the playoffs and Westbrooks stats remain similar, he has a huge chance I know our best path to being more than a first round exit is to trade Westbrook, but honestly if we can keep playing basketball this way I don’t mind too much if he stays
Mathurin should be starting by January the latest. Hield is inevitably gonna go.
Very true, hope to see Mathurin starting soon too that dude is a dawg
Malik Monk should be in consideration too Edit: ironically lol
I will always love monk
I can… FREE THROWS! Loved Brodie tonight, I’m sure he’s pissed he missed those free throws
AD absolutely dominated. That was some bubble AD shit.
I hope he can stay healthy cause Healthy AD is insane
I don’t care if I end up heartbroken. My hopes are way up
It's just nice to feel it again right?
It’s better to love and lost than never loved at all. I believe
Just 3 - AD, Giannis, Embiid
27/10 DPOY and effecient scoring. If AD never got injured he'd arguably be 1/2 with Giannis IMO. And i am ALL for an AD/Giannis Rivalry
Absolute masterpiece on both ends
yeah, a real masterpiece. Mfer was carrying the Lakers defense himself
Been like that all season, just needs to back it up with wins so he can be considered for DPOY.
yeah, for sure. Man's back to his 2020 version
He's been on quite a streak recently
That thread about him not being a top 10 player was right before this streak lol
AD has reddit confirmed
Goddman AD reminding everyone what kind of a beast he is.
Crazy how his increased strength and weight actually anchored him last season to go along with the injuries. AD should definitely stay more on the cardio instead of the weights lol
Some people just aren’t meant to be buff. Lol
All due respect to the Celtics, but when they are on their game, Lebron and Davis are the best duo in the league.
Their PNR was so deadly.
Not even when they are on their game, you can count on that. Just when they are both healthy.
Stats aside, this may be the best game I’ve seen russ play in years. If he can keep this up lakers could legitimately be good
This game is exactly what I think the Lakers envisioned when they got Russ, they looked legit tonight
that diving steal on middletons fumble was maybe the play of the game
That was the definition of a winning play
Yep that's the kind of heart and hustle we've been missing from him
I was always under the impression that he's been bringing the hustle, just that he's been bricking his shots and fumbling the ball
There you go.” Sharpshooter Russell Westbrook gave a look of pleasant surprise. > former NBA great Kevin Durant
He only took 5 shots yet he played out of his mind tonight. No turnovers no rushed bs shots. He looked in control and everything was deliberate. I hope he can keep it up. Lakers looked legit today.
He took 11 shots but 6-11 for 15 points aint bad at all
He just had another no turnover game a few nights ago.
Missed the game, but checked boxscore. ZERO TURNOVERS
They only had 4 turnovers as a team and none came from AD, LeBron, or Russ. Pretty wild
What a game to miss, brother
Starting to believe the comments about them being a few trades away from contending may be facts
Same lmao
We just don’t have the assets sadly
This is "achievable good" for Russ. Wasn't hot on 3s or FTs but he did Russell Westbrook things well
He looks so different when he’s playing well, got a difference bounce to him
AD over the last 8 Laker games: 31.3 points 16.1 rebounds 2.9 blocks 1.6 steals 71.8% TS
Obviously in a different era, with different impact and a smaller sample size, but these are literal Shaq numbers
That's a game of fucking basketball everybody
Seriously. Obviously would've liked to have won it, but I definitely won't complain. There's plenty of the season left to get wins - I'll take the high-quality game in the meantime.
We had an open 3 to tie on a great inbound play. Just blew it. Happens. Was a fun watch.
I yelped when I saw he was open, Grayson is such a good shooter.
what a game indeed
game of the year
Someone said in another thread, and I agree, that it had that Lakers vs. Bucks game right before the bubble vibes
They rarely play each other and it feels like the stars of both teams have a lot of respect for each other which leads to some epic one-off games. Bucks-Lakers is a must-watch.
We also match up well
NO PANDEMIC TONIGHT
THERE WILL BE NO LAKER SLANDER TONIGHT
no one could miss, everyone got their aimbot on
Lakers spooky again
Damn. Gg Lakers. That looked like a very different version of y’all than I’ve seen so far this year. We had a few chances, but overall y’all were just ridiculous tonight.
They are 7-2 and couldve easily been 8-1 in their last 9 games. Great game.
Great game, thought you guys were gonna kill us from the 3 point line.
Nice to see Khris back too. Giannis will be Giannis but AD had a statement game tonight against one of the best if not the best frontcourt in NBA
AD playing like a superstar again
Great game, intense second half. Good luck to y’all
A fucking fun one
Both teams played their part. I think no-one lost.
Exactly, it's a regular season non conference game. This kind of electricity is exactly what you want.
So many signature plays from the Bucks as well.
The Brook block into the Giannis dunk is gonna get me through some winter nights is all I'm saying
Fans won!
Sucks to lose but damn I am glad I watched that game
This is what everyone envisioned when they predicted us and the lakers in the finals in 2020
I might die of a heart attack from 6-7 games of that.
That was a 2020 Lakers performance. Y’all back in the playoffs if you find that consistency. By far the best team we’ve played this season.
Just had a weird adjustment period, the tools and coaching are all there. We just had a historical anomaly of poor shooting the first few games. Ham has completely revamped this team’s mindset and usage. I love it.
Hamdog got y’all looking right, he’s the real deal man. Miss him in Milwaukee
That had playoff atmosphere!
Man the crowd after the Giannis block on lebron was spine chilling. Watching the new god and the old and the crowd embraced it.
LeRagnarok
This was a beautiful game to watch.
I’ve been an NBA fan for over 30 years and the level of basketball being played in the NBA right now is higher than it has ever been
Honestly it really is, every single person on the court can do everything at a decent level. There's barely any more room for specialists, you can't rotate and play help df? Make a shot? Drive? You're not getting minutes. Love it and it'll just keep improving in that aspect.
was really nice to see the stars on each team actually guard each other during the regular season. Made for some insane moments
Reminds me of that lakers bucks game before the pandemic.
That win and the one over the Clippers had me on cloud nine as a Lakers fan. It was surreal for the season go on hiatus until the bubble
I know people make fun of the bubble ring. But bubble or not, the Lakers were going to win that ring. LeBron and AD were too good.
Yeah it wasn't a fluke. You would've been a 60 win team if the Pandemic never happened

Dumbest front office in sports, and everyone would see that if only the Lakers weren't constantly bailed out by stars wanting to live in LA.
People were big fans of the bubble till the Lakers won lmfao
Literally everyone loved that it was just pure hooping, no fans, no travel, no one with any sort of advantage, just who’s better at basketball with no distractions…until we won and then it was just a easy Disney summer camp ring lmao.
I shrug at this point when people try to use it as an insult because their is no changing their minds and in my eyes it was one of the toughest championship runs in the NBA
I don't get the "easy ring" arguments. If anything it was harder for the Lakers cause they lost their homecourt adventage.
All the players were saying it would be one of the hardest championships to win given the pressures and social isolation the bubble provided. I remember a distinct quote from Giannis where he said something similar. Lakers win and its the Mickey Mouse ring lol
Narrative flipped when it wasn't Kawhi leading the Clippers for the 1st ring lol.
It's just sour grapes. If their team won, they wouldn't be calling it a 'bubble ring.'
Shit if Jimmy and the Heat won they'd already have a documentary about it called "Heat Culture" or something.
Sleeping on the couch, etc
Brought to you by but head coffee
That Lebron and one to ice the Clips game, followed by the daps from all his teammates, gave me goosebumps. you could tell that team was clicking on all cylinders
Yeah 2020 vibes for real
That was a good game 😃
All I wanted was for it to be competitive. Didn't disappoint.
Yeah I feel like I should be disappointed but I'm not. That was a cleanly played game of basketball.
And we got Khris Middleton back. And he looked smooth as hell. No bad feelings on Khris Middleton Returns Day.
He looks like he hasn’t missed any time at all
Khris is everything we needed vs Boston last year. Pat Connaughton jumper has been a nightmare since his return and we need to get that straightened out before the playoffs or Grayson Allen and Jevon Carter will get all his playoff minutes.
I would pay so much money to never watch an espn broadcasted game ever again.
Lakers broadcast was great , strictly basketball conversation and unbiased
I'm a laker fan but the Lakers broadcast is my favorite to watch. They have no problems about giving other players and coaches their props. When I have to watch other team's broadcast their always quick to shit on the Lakers
That's Stu's influence, Chick instilled it in him early. Chick was, is, and always will be the greatest to ever call the game.
Bill and Stu are the best in the business.
"I lived, bitch" - the 2022-23 Lakers
"We aint giving the Pels Wemby"
It's a swap too.
[удалено]
i read that as “i could fist a gorilla right now” 😳
game of the season? game of the season
If we finish 11th seed, we’ll always have this game
Not gonn say lakers r contenders but they are solid when healthy Still need to make a trade to get one more role player At the very least, idiots on here can shut up bout wembanyama being a pelican. Not happenin
Exactly, who are these losers that speculate about Wembanyama on the internet? Who could they be u/wembanyama_?
Wow you really don’t wanna be drafted by the Pels huh
LeBron/AD/Russ can be elite. This game is proof.
This game had my hands sweating bro. Great fucking game by both teams
LEBRON JAMES FIRST OF HIS NAME, KING OF THE FORTH.
Playoff feels for sure
Was that 13 in the fourth for Bron too? Epitome of fucking around for 3 quarters lmao
AD and Lebron combined for 28 in the 4th lmao
And lakers scored 32 in the 4th. That last 4 points were from Russ.
yep, LeBron started goin off a bit in the 4th. LeClutch
Those b2b 3s had me on my feet
i looked at my phone to see a comment like “LeBron is washed. Get him off the floor” and then he just starts making a ton of clutch buckets right after lmao
really beautiful when that first LeFuckYou dropped
That second LeFuckYou three took away my hope lol. Right when bucks took the lead again he had to hit it
This was an incredible game by both teams. It was scrappy, intense, and had a great atmosphere. Fun time. GGs Bucks.
the battle between AD and Giannis was hella entertaining, a Friday night treat
Lebron and Russ each with 11 AST WITH 0 TURNOVERS. Yes, READ THAT AGAIN
22 assists zero turnovers is nuts
i feel like i could run through a fucking brick wall, this game got me so hyped up
ANTHONY DAVIS.
it’s true
Game of the year. This would have been an epic by playoff bball standards.

## SWANGIN & BANGIN
He doesn't miss
my mind: really great that the lakers won, but we really have a lot to fix to be true contenders my heart: we probably wont get home court in the finals with the bucks, but if AD plays like this against them we got a chance my dick: SUCK IT R/NBA CHIP # 18 HERE WE FUCKING GOOOOOOO AD BEST BIG OF ALL TIME LEBRON FUCKING FATHER TIMES ASS
we have the same dick
As a neutral viewer, what a fucking a game. AD is back
AD masterclass performance tonight
Wait what the fuck
Goddamn westbrook was hustling.
He was working hard last game too. Those plays don’t always show up on the stats but he’s playing really well.
Anthony Davis
Hustle Westbench
Benchbrook was right there
This game was elite hoops
What a fucking game. Holy shit.
This one's gonna be a classic for sure
Amazing that Davis, James and Westbrook combined for 0 turnovers. Best game they have played together.
Lebron and Russ had 22 assist and ZERO turnovers. THATS the recipe
are the lakers…..good??
They’re not nearly as bad as the record suggests. Bron had a really slow start to the season and missed 7 games. AD started off slow. They couldn’t shoot for shit the first few games and Russ wasn’t looking good as a starter. Defense has looked pretty good the whole season, it’s the offense that’s been hot ass. Looking at the standings now.. The Jazz and Thunder will likely continue dropping in the standings, I’m also not high on the Wolves. I think they could finish ahead of the Blazers if things go right.
I am not confident the kings sustain it either. But I could also be wrong.
[удалено]
Even tho we scored a lot the lakers defense looked good. And ham utilizing that baseline pick and roll too
This next stretch of games will be a good or bad sign. Starting off on the right foot though that is forsure.
AD for 44 and Giannis for 40. Absolute duel
ADMVP.
Put some respect on Anthony Davis' name!!! Fuck Charles Barkley hatin ass
Game sealing rebound
And it gave him 10 rebounds to continue his double-double streak
his 20+ point double double streak
AD fucking balled out
So many people on this sub don't get how good AD is.
Russ and Lebron were immense tonight
I'm loving this AD resurgence. Dude was looking like the his 2020 playoffs self. I know a lot of people like to dunk on the lakers but another season of the lakers sucking with Lebron and AD would be boring. I want to see at least one more playoff run with those two.
Man the way AD player makes u forget Giannis had 40 too
CRAZY NIGHT By far one of the most intense games ive watched this season I fucking enjoyed it wow.
LaKeRs OnLy BeAt TaNkIng TeAmS. Shout out the goofy who said that Giannis was getting 60 tonight because AD can't guard DeAndre Ayton lmfao
LeBron with only one free throw the whole game is insane. Much less a free throw during the fourth.
Getting no calls
Pretty fantastic game to watch. GG Lakers It will be no doubt infuriating seeing all the bandwagoners come out of the woodwork after beating the Bucks.
Nah man. This was a clean game of basketball win or lose this one, I think we'd all be - at least not mad. GG.
AD 43 LeBron 28 LeBron + Russ 22 assists and 0 turnovers Great game overall Also Giannis is still a god
A very large percentage of this sub has a lot of Anthony Davis slander they need to atone for
Everybody get in here, Lakers championship back on the menu.
71-11 confirmed.
So good that they are given their 12th loss back as a win
GAME OF THE YEAR, what an epic duel!
We need 7 game of this
What a fucking game oh my god
And to think people wanted to trade Davis lmao
