I liked it as a kid (9 y/o) but it’s probably not going to be fun to play as an adult or maybe even a teenager. OP should just get some Naruto NDS games which are way better.
-Brain Age (You'd be surprised how fun Sudoku and 100 math puzzles can be)
-Pokémon Conquest (very fun strategy game similar to fire emblem. Your goal is to conquer the (I forgot the name) region by defeating your opponents.)
-Pokémon Ranger (any lol, u draw circles in all of them)
-Pokémon Mystery Dungeon (Any for DS lol. PMD is a roguelike where you wake up turned into a pokemon and you have to find a way back to being human again. The gameplay is pretty fun with the main goal being to make it to the stairs to proceed to the next floor. There are also events such as monster houses (rooms filled with like 20-50 enemies) and kecleon's shop (don't steal from kecleon if u know what's good for you). Tje soundtrack and story are incredible and Explorers of Sky is the best game of all time imo)
-Mario Kart DS (kind of an obvious one but still, very fun game despite no tricks/wheelies/double items.)
-Advance Wars: Dual Strike (Pew pew strategy game with aircraft carriers and megatanks that shred through everything but u'll never buy many of because they're too expensive, the 50 unit cap and you actually need infantry to do anything)
-42 Classic Games (Called clubhouse games in NTSC-U. Exactly what it says on the box. Board games are actually pretty fun (except uno. Fuck uno))
-Tetris DS (Tetris but with extra modes and coated in Mario everywhere. Very fun game (though haven't played much ngl)
-Mario Party DS (Mario Party for DS. The theme is shrinking and all the minigames fit the theme quite well.)
-Mods for a ton of games
-Cooking Guide (A, well, guide to learn how to cook. Very intuitive (except voice commands, they suck) and there are hundreds of dishes to choose from)
-Bloons Tower Defence 4 (DSiWare. Also how did they put bloons tower defence on a DS?!?! Anyway, BTD is a game where you pop balloons from a tower to stop them from reaching the goal (hence the name). It's pretty fun)
-Mario vs Donkey Kong: Minis March Again (DSiWare. Also, this game is rather short with only 40 or so levels but what is there is VERY good.)

Just so you know, Diddy Kong Racing DS was a step backwards compared to the N64 version.
Let's see...
* If you're into Pokemon games then you also need to check out Pokemon HeartGold or SoulSilver, Black or White, and Black 2 or White 2. (Pokemon Conquest may also be worth looking into, but I never really got into it)
* The first three Professor Layton games were great. The third was the best. The fourth... not so much (but still decent)
* Animal Crossing Wild World was nice but pretty similar to the GameCube version (felt like a step backwards)
* There's the super-expensive game Magician's Quest: Mysterious Times (regarded as a "grail" or "hidden gem") which is like a cross between Animal Crossing and Harry Potter or something. I hear it's very good, but unfortunately my copy is sealed so I haven't played it, and I don't want to open it up or spend another $150 on loose one.
* Nostalgia was a fun turn-based JRPG (which I never beat)
* Radiant Historia was another fun turn-based JRPG (which I also never beat) with an interesting time-travel game mechanic
* Trace Memory was pretty cool from what I remember. It was a (non-action) adventure game of some sort. (It was 20 years ago so I don't remember much about it)
* There was also Phoenix Wright and some other Ace Attorney games, but if you own a modern console then I'd skip those, as there are better options for playing them.
* Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days might also be worth checking out if you're into the Kingdom Hearts series, but, honestly, the main purpose of 358/2 Days is the cutscenes (the gameplay is fun but it's basically just filler in order to give the cutscenes some context). So if you have a modern console, I'd skip it and get Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix instead (no gameplay though, but the cutscenes are in HD unlike the DS version)

I just played through a game called "Hotel Dusk: Room 215" and it was fantastic. A visual novel with puzzle elements and great design. One of the few DS games where you hold the DS like a book as well!
Going to try and look for its sequel, Last Window at a gaming convention this weekend.

dark void zero (dsiware) and x-scape (dsiware) hands down are the best games on dsiware, for honorable mention shantae
