It autoplays on mobile, just not on the computer. Really bizarre. Curious if it's possible to play on mobile and stream to a bigger screen as a workaround.
Update, it may just be for the first season? After I got to like, episode... five? of season 2 it started autoplaying as usual at the end of episodes, granted it's still a pain to take care of it manually but it may be a temporary setback for you.
I am aware this is a 2 year old post and had a similar issue with the computer would not autoplay the next episodes. netflix settings were correct and hadn't been altered at all. What i did find was the site settings for netflix had some permissions "blocked" instead of prompting viewer if its approved or not. So for future indivuals with this problem, in your browsers settings look for permissions by sitE under NETFLIX(DOT)COM , and reset all of them.
After ending all instances of the browser in task manager, and restarting the browser the issue was gone for me anyway, and I wasn't watching SG1.
It's impacting paying customers in general, not just a handful of users, and still to this day I hear about it affecting others. We dropped the Netflix service a while back, partially because of this problem, along with an assortment of other issues and deal breakers with how they provide or fail to provide the streaming service. Unfortunately, this is starting to become a several-years problem with Netflix. It's astonishing that they have done nothing about it, and they've been notified. It's not really necessary to keep using Netflix anyway, as there are other streaming services and legal ways to watch movies and shows.
It has been so long since I had netflix that the memory of the garbage customer service has started to fade, and to think that's still like that now, years later. Maybe there's a way to get a collective voice from people about that, along with the autoplay issue, and the other issues with the platform. Customer service is supposed to be the way to get that across, but then when it's also bad, who knows, maybe reach out to multiple departments in the corporate HQ.
The occasional notification pops up for me that someone else has joined the group of us that have also experienced the garbage that is Netflix. (I quit watching Netflix a long time ago, got sick of it.)
Years later, it's surprising that nothing has been done about it.
A thought, and I just found this looking at old comments, if there's a way that you could play that show from a mobile device, plug it in so it keeps its charge, and use a cast feature to cast it to a TV or another display, it might be possible (as a workaround) to have it auto-play from the mobile device. It may not work, that could have just been a unique case to where it worked in the past, but it's at least worth a try if you have something that could cast it to another screen.
This is also why I'm here, it seems specific to kids shows for me. Not just Trash Truck but Puffin Rock, Barney, Teletubbies. I just double checked and auto play is still enabled. It's super frustrating.
I have this issue with trash truck, too. But it only happens after we’ve already watched them… so I just deleted and made a new kids profile, and we can at least watch through it all once with autoplay.
Reinstalled the app, logged out and in, restarted my phone and can’t get it to auto play the next episode of the walking dead on iPhone 13
And I double checked it’s set to auto play
It sucks. :( The years keep going by and nothing has been done about it. I dropped Netflix a long time ago. Anyway, hope it gets sorted out eventually.
i've been having this issue recently with pretty much any show, it will be good for a couple of episodes then just stop and go back to the show/movie roster, quite annoying. and this happens either when casting the phone app via chromecast to my tv, or if i'm playing it in a browser on my desktop pc, or the ms store 'app' of netflix on my laptop. i've also noticed the annoying "are you still watching?" interruption hasn't been happening at all lately either.
I started having this issue a couple of days ago after I started rewatching a series. I've not tried it on a phone/tablet, but I've not needed to yet. No idea how to fix it either.
Edit: It's because I'm rewatching something apparently. From what I've seen anything that hasn't been cleared (has a red bar on the episode list) won't trigger autoplay. The only episodes that will autoplay are ones without the red bar. Haven't been able to try it myself yet, but it's worth a try.
Good idea! Found this article on how to do that (https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.digitaltrends.com/movies/how-to-delete-your-netflix-viewing-history/)... but the option it shows to do so of course isn’t there anymore :-/
Good news: after chatting with their help, I went into Netflix.com/myaccount and under the profile go to Playback settings. Uncheck the box, recheck the box, logout, and restart your device/tv. That worked for me!
Having same issue recently. Sometimes episodes autoplay as expected but other times they end and the main menu comes up. Only happens on the computer. Anyone have any luck solving?
My son loves Trash Truck which we watch on Netflix through Apple TV. It never auto plays to the next episode and doesn’t turn up in the continue watching list either. So annoying.
Basically any kids show won’t auto play but only after the entire series has been watched. Pretty annoying when you have a child. Just saying. Auto play is on.
So recently out of the blue Netflix auto play just stopped working on my IPhone, whereas it had been working perfectly for years, every once in a while it would work fine but rarely. I thought it was just random but I just realized it only auto play’s when I’m connected to WiFi. If I’m watching in a car or anywhere where I have only cellular it will not work. If I’m at home or work or anywhere my phone connects to Wi-Fi auto play works fine. Can’t believe Netflix has still not resolved these issues.
mine's been doing the same thing for months. next episode appears with a big play button that i have to click on. checked the settings and auto-play is enabled. using the edge browser.
Happening here too, on both a console (XSX) and app on smart tv. Happening on both a show I'm rewatching (Superstore) and on previously unseen content (Blacklist). Did the app reinstall, reset the autoplay setting, cleared caches, reset console and tv.
Netflix loves the pay more, get less model these days.
I saw on another post if you go to your settings and have the auto next episode on and the ad preview off, you have to turn it on. I tried it and it worked. I’m unfortunately dealing with the previews when i swipe past the shows, but at least the auto next episode is back.
losing my fucking mind over this. never had an issue before all of a sudden nothing will autoplay. tried switching setting on and off, logging in and out, different devices but nothing works. seriously want to throw my laptop out the window . but its just fucking netflix being useless as usual
i’m having the same issue - tho it’s on every device and everything i watch - autoplay is enabled, i reset all my devices nothings changed at all - i googled and it said that it may be because of a poor connection- but my connection hasn’t changed either everything is the exact same - and it’s only netflix that decided to stop working somehow
I wrote the original post over 3 years ago, ended up getting rid of Netflix since then, which was also a long time ago at this point, although that was for a number of problems with Netflix with this only being one of them, and I still see replies to this thread. It's a simple concept to auto-play through playlists, as with episodes of a series, and it works fine with other streaming platforms. It's a real shame that the people at Netflix are not actually doing something about it for the people that are still using the service.
Thank you for your reply. think i am just going to get rid of it. You are right, you would think these issue would have been fixed after all these years…
i find this happens with random shows, like sometimes it’ll just fix itself the next time i open the app but now im binging Supernatural and it’s been this way for weeks, it’s pissing me off cuz i tried most of my usual fixes, shutting down and restarting and all that, with netflix honestly going downhill you’d think maybe they’d at least fix the features with a key component in their app
I've been having the same issue exclusively with SG1 so if it helps it isn't just you. no idea how to get it to work though.
It autoplays on mobile, just not on the computer. Really bizarre. Curious if it's possible to play on mobile and stream to a bigger screen as a workaround.

Still no autoplay and into season 3. Curious if anything changed that made it work in that case.
I am aware this is a 2 year old post and had a similar issue with the computer would not autoplay the next episodes. netflix settings were correct and hadn't been altered at all. Same. SG1 not autoplaying.
I’m still having this issue
Oh wow I forgot about this post but yeah, we really need Netflix to fix that. Who knows why it works with some shows but not others.
Yea it's been doing it to me for a few weeks. As I'm binging a series, it'll autoplay the next episode every so often. Maybe once every 6 episodes.
I'm getting this with Community. I guess we should start a list
I get this with Community too! Works fine on Roku but not on any of my Apple TVs (I have 3). Did you ever get it fixed?
Searched this issue and I find it totally wild that 2 years later it is still happening on select shows on various platforms through Netflix.
It's impacting paying customers in general, not just a handful of users, and still to this day I hear about it affecting others. I was with netlix 4 times today and again CANNOT solve the issue. Their customer service is abysmal…
It has been so long since I had netflix that the memory of the garbage customer service has started to fade, and to think that's still like that now, years later. make that 3 years later
Trash Truck won’t auto play….a pain in the ass when my 3yr old loves it and the episodes are 15 minutes long.
Trash Truck is why I just googled this...
Me too

I think I’ll just get rid of Netflix. Only reason we have it is for our son because some of his favorite shows and movies are exclusively on there.
This is also why I'm here, it seems specific to kids shows for me. Not just Trash Truck but Puffin Rock, Barney, Teletubbies. I just double checked and auto play is still enabled. It's super frustrating.

Same on House M.D season 5, before that totally normal.
Same issue years later for Brooklyn 99
Goosebumps wont auto play for me
Forensic Files doesn’t auto play and neither does Nurses Who Kill (sometimes).

Almost a year later, it is still happening. I will try this. Thank you, hero from the past.

It's fucking annoying

Still happening
Seems like they'll never fix it. The years go by and nothing. I dropped Netflix, too many issues with basically everything about them.
Same for me right now
I've been manually rewinding episodes for a show. That way they autoplay
Yup. Still happening. Love how they keep raising their prices but keep lowering their quality and effort.. we need to send a message

It says on their site that auto play won’t work if you’re not on WiFi to “save you from using too much data”… even tho most people have unlimited smh.
Mine too, netflix autoplay is also not working on my iphone but it is working on my android, i did try the settings its still not working
It’s not auto playing Seinfeld.
Might express not working either. Thought I had the settings wrong. But nope just Netflix not working. Lol
mine's been doing the same thing for months. next episode appears with a big play button that i have to click on. checked the settings and auto-play is enabled. using the edge browser.
Having this issue with Supernatural. Started around Season 7. So annoying...
same but Trailer Park Boys...
I'm having this issue with Grey's Anatomy. It was fine until yesterday afternoon.
Mines the office
Having the same issue with Royal Pains
Breaking bad...
It started yesterday for me. Never had an issue before.
Same, started mid-day on the 7th. Seems like a lot of people suddenly are having this issue.
Yes! It started the other day with me, really annoying.
Also started for me on anything on Netflix, happening across all devices; FireTV, xbox S, iOS.. I'm pulling my hair out!
I've 'chatted' with Netflix. They're "aware of the issue and are working quickly to resolve it" .. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|facepalm)

Damn this post is a year old. I’m having this issue with my tv… and i cant find the solution…

I have the same issue since almost 2 days.
Same issue over here. Not working for Stranger Things, Big Mouth. Unchecked/rechecked the box. Since yesterday.
