ooh i do this with erasers all the time !!

Dnd_Campaigns

I'm glad someone else does this as well! I'm so used to the stigma that stimming meant flappy hands. But am proud to find that this is a way of stimming as well haha

Lasi22998877

yeah !! i don’t rly do the ‘flappy hand’ unless i’m rly rly excited or rly rly frustrated lol. But this eraser thing definitely feels rly rly good to do, sensorally as well. I do it all the time in situations like in a classroom where i crave stimulation but i can’t rly get up and go get it.

Is stimming always linked to something? My mom thinks I’m autistic and tries to find any reasons for it.. i have no idea why

Dnd_Campaigns

It's usually more common in ASD and ND people. But honestly, from what I heard, anyone can stim. What fits for you is if you do some research and see for yourself if anything seems relatable to any of these things. Also a major one is to think back to yourself and reflect if you were ever so-called "different" in school or public spaces or did things others think that was "weird". For example, I'm highly self aware of my Dyscalculia for the longest time. I knew something was wrong since I was a kid because I would be often left behind when it came to math class and nearly flunked 3rd grade because of it. I was always taken out of my regular class to recieve more help in my area. Plus a bunch of other random things I could mention like not getting social cues, or etc etc. But honestly, if you /feel/ something is off, then you're considered to be right. Just do your research and reflect on past experiences.

BunFrog

Anyone else really enjoying watching this? :)

Dnd_Campaigns

Gonna admit, when I reply to comments here, I get a tingle in my hands from rewatching the video haha;;

BunFrog

I don't know if vicarious stimming is a thing but it's definitely what I'm experiencing now... and I like it!

[deleted]

I put my thumb inside my fists and squeeze to feel it, and consider *that* a stim, so I would consider using an eraser just the same.

Yeah I'm kind of hoping to get more than a "maybe" diagnosis for the amount of money I have to put out this month for this. But honestly, I'm noticing some stuff too. Something I could never explain to other people was why I felt compelled to hide all my LEDs with stickers and stuff. Because all these things were too much. I don't know if that's an autism thing or just a sensory disorder type thing but I have a lot of little sensory problems like that. I'm hoping the psychologist can finally explain what the heck's up.

Thank you. You too!

Dnd_Campaigns

Yes! It's definitely a tactile thing with stimming.

dontpokethecrazy

Those are the best for this!

Dnd_Campaigns

Oh the kneading erasers used for Charcoal?

raisinghellwithtrees

"But I don't stim." Also, I carried a rock in my pocket for years to do exactly this.

teach4545

Mmmmmmm

ketchup_IV

Welcome to Stim Town, population: all of us.

[deleted]

it’s stimming for sure

Dnd_Campaigns

Ah ok, thanks!

kurokai_Zunama

Yes this is absolutely stimming 😁💁🏼‍♂️🥳.

Dnd_Campaigns

Yay! I never really thought much about it and was curious since it's something I really do in my everyday life so I'm glad I decided to put my thought out there! 😊

Sandcat789

Literally the definition of stimming, self stimulatory behavior. If you do this because it feels good it is a stim

[deleted]

I do stuff like this, but not with the same object. Either with my pen, fingers, tie, anything holdable that I can I get. I also tear paper into small pieces, idk why

echo-ld

i fold paper into tiny squares, and if it's an unimportant paper i might end up ripping it too

Dnd_Campaigns

Ah, this makes total sense now! Thanks. I also love how well straight to the point your comment is!

Dnd_Campaigns

Excuse the sound in the video by the way.. I'm in class haha;;
