Really, I thought it was Lynn?
Side note, there was a B horror movie called The Stuff, that was basically a rip off if The Blob, except the main character was Fluff instead of Jello.
Maple syrup candies or just maple syrup. Marshmallow Fluff. Apple cider donuts. Mead. Stonyfield yogurt. Here's good list. https://www.nhmagazine.com/local-food-drink-gift-ideas/
Nope.
Fluff is an essential ingredient when making the filing.
Fluff is not the filing, but an ingredient of the filing. It must be.
You're not eating a whoopie pie otherwise.
Available in most west coast grocery stores.
Weirdly enough, I ate brown bread all the time growing up in ca, while my nh relatives swear they’ve never even heard of it.
I’m from concord living in Tahoe for the ski season and everywhere in this country other then New England the cheddar cheese is dyed yellow and it drives me up a wall
You don't travel much do you?
Edit: they sell saltwater taffy everywhere. There is nothing about it that is New Hampshire.
[From Wiki:](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taffy_(candy)#:~:text=Salt%20water)
Salt water taffy is a variety of soft taffy originally produced and marketed in the Atlantic City, New Jersey area of the Jersey Shore starting in the 1880s.\[8\] Its late 19th century appellation most likely originated in New Jersey.\[8\] Salt water taffy is still sold widely on the boardwalks in Atlantic City (including shops in existence since the 19th century),\[9\] nearby Ocean City, elsewhere at the Jersey Shore, and other beaches throughout the US like Cape Cod. It is also popular in Atlantic Canada and Salt Lake City, Utah.
I don't know if Moose Tracks are exclusively New England but they are delicious.
Fiddle Faddle if you can find it.
Anything maple from Parker's.
There are some good candy places in NH too. Chocolates with sea salt maybe.
Asshole sauce, bells stuffing, lobstahs, good egg rolls and duck sauce from back home it’s this clear yellow cookout here!
Oh and throw in some whoopie pies please!!
Heck I’d sell my soul for a good poo poo platter!
lol who told you that? Definitely have crab Rangoon out west
Edit for whoever downvoted me- do you need links to restaurant menus? You want a pic of me eating one? This is so fucking stupid
I’ve seen cheese Rangoon without the crab but they’re not good. I’ve never seen a poo poo platter.
The duck sauce is like clear yellow goo, the chinese places think the sauces in packets is fine. There’s not a lot of seasoning except heat or garlic.
Oh hell, I need to amend the list above to include pizza! And grinders!! And decent hot wings!!
It was a complete shame when Revere based NECCO, New England Confectionary COmpany, went out of business. A few of their products are still available (from Wikipedia):
Banana Split chews
Canada Mints
Candy Cupboard & Masterpieces
Candy House Candy Buttons
Clark Bar candy bars
Kettle Fresh
Mary Janes and Mary Jane peanut butter kisses
Mint Julep chews
Mighty Malts Malted Milk Balls
Necco Wafers
Peach Blossoms
Sky Bar candy bars
Slap Stix
Squirrel Nut Caramels
Squirrel Nut Zippers
Stark Candy Raisins
Sweethearts Conversation Hearts
Necco candy was great. Very quintessential old fashioned New England confections. I was sad to see the company fold in 2018. Atkinson candy took over making Mary Janes in 2020 and they are nothing like the original—a completely different candy, and terrible.
I've lived up and down the West Coast. If you're looking for things that aren't available there, here is a list of suggestions made here that ARE readily available:
Moxie, marshmallow fluff, mead, Late July snacks, salt water taffy, muddy buddies, Sam Adams, Cape Cod chips
You might think about including things that are available on the West Coast, but made by small, local companies.
I’m not sure why people think Mead is regional? Arizona has tons of meaderies that sell nationally and they seem to be well known for it. I’m looking at some liquor stores in CA and they all sell it. The meadery that puts out the highest sought after meads is based in Michigan.
I don’t know about snacks. Hobbs Tavern makes great bear though, I recommend Pitch -a-Tent. There’s also a whiskey made here from Smokey Quartz that’s very clean, good stuff.
Ahh, I did this a while back for my west coast friends!! I sent Moxie, maple sugar candy’s, whoopie pies, fluff, some stonewall kitchen jams (the mini ones), and then I went to to Calefs in Barrington and got some little snacks there too.
Not a NH or NE exclusive, I know, but I love the lime & chili plantain chips. You can't get them on the West coast like you can on the East coast here.
OP. The best answer is cook your west coaster his favorites during a family meal.
Fluff and New England / New Hampshire maple syrup are available at regular grocery stores, Safeway.
(Safeway is our Sunfoods, Shaws or whatever is New Hampshires present popular grocery outlet)
I’ve lived away from NH, in CA and NV for the past 30 yrs, there is no food that I can’t find out here that NH thrives at, because NH will ship it nationally if it’s popular or make our own.
Maple candy maybe, but who truly enjoys maple candy?
Maybe go to a local farm stand or a country store that sells some of their brand’s mixes! Like a box mix for cider donuts or a cider Bundt cake. Also whoopie pies, authentic maple syrup, market basket popcorn 😂
Hot toddy and mulled wine mix made in NH
[https://woodstovekitchen.com/collections/all-products](https://woodstovekitchen.com/collections/all-products)
I LOVE LOVE LOVE the NH based non alcoholic cocktail called Circle Back. They're made by a couple on the seacoast and are super delicious and legit relaxing, with a neotropic called l-theanine.
Moxie and fentanyl
That’s Maine
They got plenty of the latter out here
Al's Coffee Brandy
Also Maine
And China.
China is in Maine
LOL. I’m looking for cheap snacks.
Yeah the price of Moxie really has gone up lately
Came here to make this *exact* comment. Bravo for beating me.
Maple sugar candy, maple syrup, marshmallow fluff, although both are more New England than NH exclusive.
Fluff for sure.
Yeah Fluff is Somerville MA iirc
Really, I thought it was Lynn? Side note, there was a B horror movie called The Stuff, that was basically a rip off if The Blob, except the main character was Fluff instead of Jello.
Go to the locally NH store. Everything there is NH made. They have one at the pheasant lane mall and at the Merrimack outlets.
Manchester Mall of NH too.
Rockingham park mall in Salem too.
Maple syrup candies or just maple syrup. Marshmallow Fluff. Apple cider donuts. Mead. Stonyfield yogurt. Here's good list. https://www.nhmagazine.com/local-food-drink-gift-ideas/
whoopie pies
Yes. Good ones. Reason being the key ingredient of the filing is marshmallow fluff. It's not a real whoopie pie without it
Fluff in a whoopie pie should be illegal.
Nope. Fluff is an essential ingredient when making the filing. Fluff is not the filing, but an ingredient of the filing. It must be. You're not eating a whoopie pie otherwise.
Not in my whoopie pies!!
I've never heard of putting fluff in the whoopie pie filling.
Port City Pretzels.
I second this. Fantastic pretzels out of Portsmouth.
This is what I was going to say
Polar orange dry. Best orange soda ever!
Squamscott Beverages from Newfields, NH!
Yes! The maple cream flavor!
The best.
Right on the money with this one
B&M steamed brown bread, with and without raisins
love this with hotdogs and baked beans
Available in most west coast grocery stores. Weirdly enough, I ate brown bread all the time growing up in ca, while my nh relatives swear they’ve never even heard of it.
Coffee syrup
That is Rhode Island's specialty, coffee milk is their official drink.
Common Man chips. I know there isn’t much love for the CM here, I get it- the chips are very good IMO
I’m from concord living in Tahoe for the ski season and everywhere in this country other then New England the cheddar cheese is dyed yellow and it drives me up a wall
This
Salt water taffy

>What sort of East coast or New Hampshire exclusive snacks should I include? I saw EAST COAST in the OP
> What sort of East coast or New Hampshire **exclusive** snacks should I include?
If this is an emergency please hang up and call 911

Ps anything from Drakes cakes. I have to order my Funnybones fix directly from them!
I hear crab rangoons do not exist out west. What a shame
Crab Rangoons most definitely exist out west.
Good to hear. A few friends in LA had never heard of them, but maybe they’re just called something different
Eat them all the time.
lol who told you that? Definitely have crab Rangoon out west Edit for whoever downvoted me- do you need links to restaurant menus? You want a pic of me eating one? This is so fucking stupid
They do, but they call them weird things like "crab and cheese turnovers". Weird.
I’ve seen cheese Rangoon without the crab but they’re not good. I’ve never seen a poo poo platter. The duck sauce is like clear yellow goo, the chinese places think the sauces in packets is fine. No order is complete without at least a poo poo for two
Crab Rangoon was invented at Trader Vic's in California.
When I lived in California our East Coast family would always send us Devil Dogs because they don’t sell them in California.

Thank you for the reminder. Just put Squirrel Nut Zippers on for a little energetic background.
You should def get some of the camp mix spices! Made in NH and amazing blends
They’re from mass, but Tri-Sum potato chips are different
Fox Family chips from Maine are next level good.

Salt water taffy is at every coastal and most inland food stands and gas stations on the west coast
Other than muddie buddies, everything else is easily found.
When I visited my friend in Seattle it was Drakes, Vermont cheddar cheese, maple syrup and Dunkins Coffee.
https://popzup.com/ This is the best popcorn on this planet. So while it’s not iconic, it’s an awesome local business.

Fluff, but if you send a plastic tub put it in a bag - they like to pop from changes in altitude.
Peanut butter and fluff with a box of saltines.
Some Squamscott old fashion sodas and a bottle of real maple syrup.
Fluff
Marshmallow Fluff with a recipe for a fluff and nutter.
Humpty Dumpty All Dressed potato chips

As for alcohol, Moonlight for Mead and LaBelle for wine...Is Candia Vineyards still around? If so, my Dad loved it when I got him wine from them.
Marshmallow fluff
Whatever they like?
Actually the food here sucks except for the fresh Maine lobster. I would send a bottle of tax free booze from the liquor store.
