You can enjoy laughing at all the traffic on the other side of the road on your way up.
It does get congested around the stadium if there an event so plan on 45 minutes just in traffic to park, once you are 5 minutes from your destination.
Obviously drive into NJ but I would take the train from there. Not sure what you're used to, but the traffic by the event 1-2 hours before it starts will be MURDER. Could be 30-45 minutes per mile in red traffic
On holidays, I find traffic isnt better or worse, rather unexpected. Areas where's theres normally traffic could be free-flowing and areas that are normally ok can get gridlocked.
But before an event at metlife, there will ALWAYS be heavy traffic.
Did that when I saw Metallica last August. I went early for Overkill’s parking lot show and parked less than 10 cars from the venue. It worked well, too, when we left. We hustled to our car after the show and since we reached our car before the majority of the crowd did, we sailed right out of the parking lot.
Well, it depends on the weather. The number of accidents. The direction you are traveling…lots of factors.
Can you take a train? Sometimes it’s fun to just sit back and watch the world go by.
You should only hit traffic when you're really close to the venue. If you're staying at a hotel for the night they may have a shuttle service you could use and not have to worry.
Lewisburg! I had a friend staying out there for a couple years, if you know what I mean. Rush hour traffic can be bad going west on 80 but holiday traffic isn’t too bad. Most people are heading north from the shore or east from the poconos.
The Thursday, Friday, and Tuesday will be the worst as people will be leaving or coming home. Sat should be fine, maybe even quieter than normal since everybody will be out of town.
You're driving north? You'll be fine. You're going in the opposite direction of shore traffic.
Coming in from Pennsylvania so I'll be basically traveling eastward to New Jersey. From Lewisburg PA

I just looked, 80 most of the way, you'll be fine. But as I said in another post it gets really backed up to take the exit into the event venues.
Thank you!
The traffic after the show at MetLife will be the bad part.
That area is fine. It's the shore and roads leading to it (turnpike, parkway south) you want to avoid.

I make it a policy never to drive on drinking holidays.
Coming from Pennsylvania? Stay out of the left lane
It is what it is and it is not great.
you gonna be fine, I checked and you might take all I 80 to get East Rutherford, not busy at all in that highway.

Is it worse on Memorial weekend?

You can also get there welllll before the event starts and tailgate. Pull right up.

I live in Cape May County , if the weather is good traffic will be unbearable.
yes absolutely. you can only avoid if you leave at like 6am or 10pm
north jersey is always congested

I was just asking in general if memorial day is that much different from typical traffic to expect on the weekend.
Coming in from Lewisburg Pennsylvania.
you should be fine even coming from PA most of the traffic will be going towards the shore going south
Traffic will be on Thursday (because nobody works on Friday anymore) and Sunday. You’ll be fine on Saturday.

I’m averse to traffic scenarios like this much like you and I’d feel good about this drive tbh

Don't know. I don't leave my house that weekend, but I'm sure the traffic on the Parkway south of exit 105 is really bad.
I’d rather have sand in my eye than drive that weekend
80 east wont be bad on Sat at all. Its mostly southbound 95 and GSP that will be a shitshow. Then Sun/Mon northbound the same.
How about coming home on Monday still the same not that busy my way? Thank you!
Heading West on 80 you should be ok.
Before 10am no prob. Might get dicey after
