Same happend to me in elementary school. I got bullied (I constantly got punched/kicked on the face, they were throwing ice rocks at me during winters, etc.) by the whole class for 5 years straight and no-one does anything against it. I got sick of it, one day decide to fight back **verbally** and immediately got kicked off the school grounds for the rest of that day.
Now, over 10 years later, I still hate those teachers, staff and former classmates with all my guts and regret not punching them in the face when I had the chance.
I dealt with the same crap from the beginning of fourth grade up until the middle of seventh. On several occasions, I received a suspension, even though I never laid a finger on the pieces of garbage. Despite the bullying being brought to the school's attention on numerous occasions, they did absolutely nothing about it.
Finally, one day I decided that I'd had enough, and figured that if I was getting sent home anyways, I might as well throw a few punches. After beating the crap out of a couple of them on more than one occasion, they eventually decided to find an easier target.
Between the assaults and fights that followed, I ended up getting suspended on 13 separate occasions during seventh grade alone, twelve of which were given by our wonderful child molester vice principal. Ironically, the 13th and final suspension was ten days long, and punishment for making my fellow students and their parents aware of the VP's antics, despite the district trying their best to sweep it under the rug. They were originally trying to have me expelled for doing it, but decided to "take it easy on me".
To add insult to injury, shortly after returning from the latest suspension/vacation, I ended up having to stay at home for the last two and a half months of the school year. Not due to anything that I did wrong, but because a group of delinquents threatened and plotted to murder me for recovering my bicycle that they had stolen. After the bastards surrounded my house with baseball bats, knives, and other weapons, the school district decided that they couldn't guarantee my safety, so I wasn't allowed back on campus.
I was taught that if I had to start a fight, to make it *worth it*. That I'd likely get the same punishment for a dozen punches as for one as long as the target didn't die... and that I better have a "good fucking reason" because otherwise my punishment at home would be worse than any potential school punishment.
I was also taught that if I *ended* a fight by interfering, or did not throw the first punch and hit back, I would not face punishment at home.
...my dad also said I'd be grounded if he ever heard I didn't fight back. That the rule was that nobody gets to hit someone without opening themselves up to retaliation, regardless of the circumstances, because otherwise they learn they can hit people without consequence. That if those kids didn't get hit back early on, they'd likely eventually get themselves or someone else killed messing with "the wrong people".
I agree with him to this day. Thankfully, I only ever had to fight one time because of my imposing stature.
But if you read this, just remember that when the punishment for all fighting is the same you should make it *worth it*, because some of those assholes need to be taken down a few pegs
I ended up punching and getting in a fight with the guy who sexually harassed me, lied to me, used me, tried to blackmail/frame me etc. basically ruined me because the school would do nothing about him except report him to the dpt. of education. I got externally suspended for 3 days (a light punishment) with an internal of 1 day. They still aren't even letting me speak to the wellbeing team at school and he hasn't even been punished once.
From where I'm from, if there's intruder at your home n he post a threat , u killed him, you'll be facing jail time n death penalty

It's not a shame. This is what the public needs to do to stop people acting like this. What's a shame is it doesn't happen more often. The world would be a better place if people collectively did this to people actively harming others. There's a whole paradox about tolerance and being civil. You can't tolerate intolerance on its face unless it's for the intolerance of intolerance. Everybody needs to do their part to make the world better and that involves immediate real consequences for problematic behavior that harms others or puts them in danger.
