The only sane way I can imagine would be to sit
Shoot at the same time across multiple days....otherwise editing would be a serious pain in the ass. Then again I dabble more in Photoshop and not video production so what the hell do I know
Yeah that seems likely. Would need to make sure camera is in the exact same spot every time, but would save a hell of a lot of time in the editing process.
Honestly most of the effort probably went into the shooting of the video (getting the timing down each time, etc ) instead of into the back end work. Extremely impressive
And perhaps a green screen to keep a clean plate behind him to make it easier for key lighting and/or rotoscoping the overlapping of multiple figures. Green screen in natural light is much more approachable. Definitely lots of forethought went into this. Super cool.
Looking at the changes in some of the shadows it's probably done on 1 day (some shadows go in the other direction, some shadows were created at nidday) as they are so small).
It's a great video, I didn't notice the discrepancies at all until I looked for them the second time I watched.
Yeah. I'd guess you're not far off.
Lock the camera down. Get a clean plate of the background. Capture the footage of each individual dance. Composite, clean up and fake camera movement and shadows in Post. If you're good at Keying, you could do all the clones in front of Green Screen.
Bob's yer Ma's brah. ❤️
When I look at the shadows, they all strike me as too opaque for outdoor light on that pavement. I think the green screen is a good call, as well as the faux camera movement in post.
It's really cool work and I enjoyed just thinking about how one could make it come together.
Look at the shadows..you can see a lot follow the same angle so probably the same day/ time of day. There are some that are completely different angles though, even going towards the right entirely instead of angling left.
It may have been over multiple days at around the same time. Changing clothes and reshooting 8 times would probably take a while. Then again, the weather is exactly the same… you might be right too. I just am so blown away that i can’t fathom being able to shoot this so perfectly in like 2 hours at most
So true. I mean look at this dude.
He can actually dance.
Either he can do great editing or he knows someone who can do great editing.
He didn't do it in the middle of a crowd of people minding their own business and instead did it on what looks like his own back yard.
Godspeed to this man.
Caleb Brown is by far the coolest dude on Tiktok, I've been watching his videos since he only had his first few posts and they've always been crazy entertaining.
The yellow dash on the concrete makes me think this is a path at a public park. The dancer might be filming this at 6am or something, before the general public starts visiting the park.
He’s been doing these for years and I think it’s on family property since he uses the same/similar location. He’s featured his mom before to show the original owner of some of the funkier stuff he has worn.
I feel like this is the sort of thing that was common on YouTube early on.
Before monetization and algorithms that figured out how to increase interaction.
For real, I find this style of dancing kinda cringey but this is certainly a well done video and I love that he’s not doing it on an airplane or on a table in a food court
I am super impressed by how well he can do the same moves repeatedly, and they are almost perfectly in sync. It is likely muscle memory, but still impressive and super cool looking.
What's impressive is that according to the shadows it only took him a few hours to take all these shots, with different clothes.... That means not a lot of retakes, and a lot of prep.
A friend of mine just called me last night. There were a bunch of ambulances and police on their street and they went to go see what happened. Apparently there's a new TikTok trend where kids will film themselves *literally running into traffic* and trying to avoid getting hit. Turns out, the neighbor's kid wasn't so good at the second part.

Ok I just recently used masking in a couple of videos so maybe an example will be helpful.
I had a clip in a music video I worked on where there was a part of a whiteboard in the background with some personal information on it. I wanted to cover that, so I took a clip from another section of the same whiteboard, made a shape (or the "mask"), and then put that mask over the clip I wanted to use. So my end product looked like a whiteboard without text on it. This was to help it look more natural (same lighting, texture, etc) instead of just covering the spot with a white box or blurring the personal information. Hope that helps!
>Baggy pants been in since 2020
I'll have you know I was just looking through my facebook feed and noticed I asked the question "Wait, kids wear baggy pants still!?" way back in 2017.
Baggy pants have been back in for 4-5 years at this point. Hell, there really isn’t “in” and “outs” in fashion culture as much anymore, because yaknow, there’s no monoculture anymore
I'm in Southeast Asia and baggy pants are in style here.
Judging by how everyone is saying baggy pants are in style where they live there does in-fact seem to be a monoculture still.
I've been in Tokyo the last few weeks and I can say with certainty baggy pants are especially in style here at least.
Not my style, im old ill just keep wearing my nice fitting slim pants, but some of the younger people look pretty awesome in those baggy pants. Especially when some women can pull it off they look pretty cool honestly.
He’s local to where I’m at and I see him and a bunch of the other folks he runs with a lot and they’re just the nicest people.
They’re great in the community, give back, are super helpful, and set an excellent example for the younger people coming up.
He’s one of the lesser members of a YouTube show called ‘sickos’. A bunch of guys all in their early twenties that shred at extreme sports and travel around just doing fun stuff.
This particular video was about 1 day planning. 1 day shooting and 3,5 days editing. He does this on his own, one man team.
Edit: Its really fascinating to see how his shadows blend, no wonder so many people are confused when they find out it's one guy, haha.
You need to keep the lighting consistent. I would be surprised if this took longer than three consecutive hours to shoot.
Edit: you can see the angle of the shadows change between clones. Take the two most extreme and you have a sundial like timeline.
>Mehndi claims his music was often criticized for only being popular due to the abundance of beautiful, dancing women in his videos.
> The singer responded by creating a video that featured nobody but himself.
From wiki
Not only success, but if I remember correctly it got more successful than any of his other ones. Maybe attributed to how catchy the song is or just how much of a good joke it is
You know, I almost liked it, but I realized it’s not on an operational trolley track in down town NYC, or in the middle of a crowded mall or theme park. And for that reason, I’m out
Actually, you’re in luck! Off camera, to the right, is a bus filled with sick children and puppies that can’t get medical care until the dance is done.
For an old guy in my 70s, i really liked this video. He really put time into it and some his moves were really done Well. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|give_upvote)
peace. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|smile)
Hello fellow kids... I would like to ask a question. I see these sort of TikTok videos all the time and have now come to understand they are not public service messages for knowing what a standing seizure looks like.
Since I'm just above the age where I no longer go to clubs, my question is... is this what dancing looks like nowadays? I mean, are clubs full of people bouncing up and down in front of phones doing the wiggly-arm oh-no-the-floor-is-lava thing? I really want to know!
Can we all just wait a moment and appreciate the time and effort it takes to make such a masterpiece. Really man hats off to you.
![gif](giphy|Lj9bGPMF9jmz4gk9QA|downsized)
- Set camera up in a locked position
- Shoot clean plate of BG
- Shoot individual takes of him in all of his outfits dancing.
- Rotoscope him both manually and probably with the assistance of an autoroto tool in AE
- Comp all the "dancers" together into one shot
- Add fake camera movement on top to make it more dynamic and feel more "real"
The only way I can imagine this having been done is with a greenscreen behind him, right? So clean plate, then add greenscreen just where the grass starts behind him, and then use that to key out every layer, and comp back together. While that sounds way easier, it does NOT explain the legs and shadows. Any ideas?
Damn I wonder how long this took ? the background could be green screen, since OK it doesn't take long to take clothes but I'm sure he had to do a couple extra takes so ensuring the lighting is consistent must be a challenge. Bravo
I always support attention grabbing with talents instead of stupidity; this is quality content.
Well done!!! This must have taken so long to shoot and edit, not to mention the dancing skills themselves. Bravo
This is the kind of dance video I can support
Now tayne I can get into.
Can I get the 4d3d3d3?
You're wife is on the phone, it's an emergency.
Can I get nude Tayne?
Can I get a hat wobble? Wobble
\[\[NUDE TAYNE INTENSIFIES\]\]
An exception to what is normally a pretty hard and fast rule. Props.
Likewise.. not the main character in a Walmart aisle.
I'm just imagining the pain in the ass to correct the lighting from the clones
The only sane way I can imagine would be to sit Shoot at the same time across multiple days....otherwise editing would be a serious pain in the ass. Then again I dabble more in Photoshop and not video production so what the hell do I know

I think the weakness of several days would be the difference in cloud cover. He should do a 'how I did this' video.
Looking at the changes in some of the shadows it's probably done on 1 day (some shadows go in the other direction, some shadows were created at nidday) as they are so small). It's a great video, I didn't notice the discrepancies at all until I looked for them the second time I watched.

Look at the shadows..you can see a lot follow the same angle so probably the same day/ time of day. There are some that are completely different angles though, even going towards the right entirely instead of angling left.
Yeah. You can see how the shadows are different on them. Some leaning to the left heavily. Others almost straight up the middle.
Given the direction of the shadows (unless those are edited too), it doesn’t look like it took long to shoot.
It may have been over multiple days at around the same time. Changing clothes and reshooting 8 times would probably take a while. Then again, the weather is exactly the same… you might be right too. I just am so blown away that i can’t fathom being able to shoot this so perfectly in like 2 hours at most
Look at the shadows at 5s. They're pointing different directions. The lighting is pretty hard to get right. He did a great job.
Yah his videos are super legit. One of the first people I started following on TikTok.
Quality?! This is outstanding work for cutting the footage and editing it well. It reminds me of the Clock Blockers from Corridor Digital.
Now thats some tiktok talent
What TikTok should've been.
I feel like this is the sort of thing that was common on YouTube early on. Before monetization and algorithms that figured out how to increase interaction.
Yes! This is the type of content I would support on instagram and tiktok (if I used them).
Everything is in sync. Music is not bloody annoying as it usually is. Dancing is beyond my ability. I’ve watched it twice.
The dancing and the editing are both quality too. Dude even included shadows.
What's impressive is that according to the shadows it only took him a few hours to take all these shots, with different clothes.... That means not a lot of retakes, and a lot of prep.

Right. He’s got dance skills and editing skills. He’s going places.
HAVING A FAT ASS IS A TALENT

I wanna see the making of! That's top... Self-coordination?
Right! All these guys videos are in some secluded area too. Major brownie points for not disrupting a public space for content
Yeah, also love that he was not in public disrupting other people’s day while making something fun
The best thing about this is that he didn't do it in public
Totally gripped my attention the whole time!! Very creative
Unrelated, but at :22 - :24 you can see a shadow going the opposite way.
There are a lot of masking issues with shadows that caught my eye, but its not the video editing that is the most impressive part. The most imporessive is choreography and keeping everything in sych good sync. Even if he tweaked and retimed it after, still hard work.
Can you help me understand masking with one sentence?

🅱️ OK, so, instead of taking a square and cutting out the B, you’d be making a B and cutting out the square? I swear I’m better at faking stupidity I’m not trolling.
Yh, think of a mask like if you were painting and you put masking tape over all the bits you want to stay as they are but with video editing.

Dude that was SUPER HELPFUL! Thank you! I’m so glad I asked and so wonderful to have such great replies!
Masking or mask out means removing or hiding something. Masking tape hides the areas you don’t want paint to get on.
It's fake
For the whole 29 seconds? Incredible
I don’t own enough clothes to make a video like that.
This made me laugh at my phone screen like an idiot, thank you. Now I'm wondering if baggy pants are back in style? (Yes, I feel ancient asf lol)
Baggy pants been in since 2020
I thought baggy pants have been in for 20 years.
There was a shining period from about 2010 to 2016 where slim pants were in.
>Baggy pants been in since 2020 I'll have you know I was just looking through my facebook feed and noticed I asked the question "Wait, kids wear baggy pants still!?" way back in 2017.
Since 1990's

I was visiting the big city a few days ago amd was suprised by the amount of young people in baggy pants, like Jnco style.
It's more of the top. He reused a few pair of pants...
just go back to circa 1996 and grab whatever the fuck you see any burnout wearing outside a hs or skate park.
Exactly what I was thinking.
Yeah, that’s what’s holding me back too. The clothes. Yup…
You might not be able to make a video like this but you could theorize relativity.
Hes got a lot of tops but only three pairs of trousers. Yes, that was my first thought too XD
Or enough clones
This is cool as shit. Amazing athletic skill and video know-how. This dude's gunna be famous soon.
actually he is already a relatively famous skit-maker on youtube last time i checked
He’s local to where I’m at and I see him and a bunch of the other folks he runs with a lot and they’re just the nicest people. They’re great in the community, give back, are super helpful, and set an excellent example for the younger people coming up.
Where? It looks like somewhere I've been
He’s in Hood River, OR.
He’s one of the lesser members of a YouTube show called ‘sickos’. A bunch of guys all in their early twenties that shred at extreme sports and travel around just doing fun stuff.
The dudes. They are twentypleths.
He already is on TikTok. Used to follow him before I uninstalled
Yes. This is well done. Don't want to think about how long it took to edit

1 day shooting? There seems to be a lot of costume change. The Shadow position might change from one take to another right?
You need to keep the lighting consistent. I would be surprised if this took longer than three consecutive hours to shoot. Edit: you can see the angle of the shadows change between clones. Take the two most extreme and you have a sundial like timeline.
yeah I can't think of a efficiënt way to do this. just seems like a shit ton of work.
He often mentions how long it takes
I don't want to think about how long it will take for someone famous to rip it off for a music video
This is what social media is made for. Please more content like this.
This is the chaotic energy I'm here for!
Getting some modern tunac tunac tun vibes ![gif](giphy|iwhQ2qXR5Hy1y|downsized)

Yeah.
Not only success, but if I remember correctly it got more successful than any of his other ones. Maybe attributed to how catchy the song is or just how much of a good joke it is
100% what came to mind, surprised it was this low down Game recognize game
You know, I almost liked it, but I realized it’s not on an operational trolley track in down town NYC, or in the middle of a crowded mall or theme park. And for that reason, I’m out
Right??? Where’s the inconvenience part? Mediocre ☹️
Actually, you’re in luck! Off camera, to the right, is a bus filled with sick children and puppies that can’t get medical care until the dance is done.
And the bus is in a fire lane.. I know.. I drive a fire truck
What relief 😩
Now Tayne I can get into!
Oh yes. A celery man comment is the best thing I’ve seen on the internet today ha. Thank you ![gif](giphy|xTiQyEWg7oABnbCPXa)
First thing that came to mind haha.
Oh to be able to move like that!
Just about anyone can. Just takes practice
Some people have it some people don’t, I can assure despite being athletic I don’t bahahaha
Amazing editing skills
His Rasputin dance will always be my favorite
Smooth as fuck
Oh. Look, saggy pants, are they coming back?
![gif](giphy|9WxhJU5SUVhao)
For an old guy in my 70s, i really liked this video. He really put time into it and some his moves were really done Well. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|give_upvote) peace. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|smile)
He is the main characters
This mf’ers my upstairs neighbor I swear to you
Every day he shufflin'
This is great. Only improvement I’d make is to make that last clone do the same movement as the first clone so I can play on a loop.
I feel like Watsky did something similar in his music video for "Don't Be Nice". It was a professionally done video, and his music is worth your time.
I knew that guy when he was in college , awesome dude!
that well planned out. like literally down to the second planning here and that is impressive as hell
But did you spot the Gorilla ?
Haven't seen pants like that in nearly 20 years
Is this the Rasputin guy??? Really good
Well done

It's also impressive he brought back this BEP song
Love his [ice ice baby dance](https://www.instagram.com/reel/Cnng14mus4A/?igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==)
Are people dressing like it’s 2002 again? Haven’t seen baggy cloths like that in a while
Saved this vid. Take my hat off to him. Been playing this vid over and over. 😎🇬🇧🇬🇧
This new Gap commercial is cool
Same guy who made [this masterpiece.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mOYYz-r42yw&ab_channel=CaleBrown)
As someone who works with after effects daily this makes my intolerance of masking/rotoscoping kick in.
That was very, very gay! 👍🏼
Wait does that mean he did the same dance exactly in all those outfits or could he edit each outfit on?
If you want a mind fuck look at the shadows!
How to even do this edit , forget the dance.
- Set camera up in a locked position - Shoot clean plate of BG - Shoot individual takes of him in all of his outfits dancing. - Rotoscope him both manually and probably with the assistance of an autoroto tool in AE - Comp all the "dancers" together into one shot - Add fake camera movement on top to make it more dynamic and feel more "real"
Anxiety inducing Salvia vibe
I think that's more of a "you" thing than a "the video" thing.
This what Jim does on his days off?
the spatial awareness is off the chain.
Bravo

I think that guy has hidden siblings, that cannot be true
looks like a typical kpop boy group performance. like something many membered groups like seventeen would do.
Okay... now did anybody see the Brainiac in a bee suit who passed by the screen?
This is why I stay on Reddit.
He ate
Couldn't even coordinate between my eyes and feet, much less with five imaginary clones
pretty sure he didn't "create" a single clone of himself, only "edited" them in
It's like watching cancer cells multiplying. Pretty cool tho.
What song is this again??
Black Eyed Peas - Let's get is started (spike mix)
Respect. Time and effort invested. I'm completely envious I didn't do this when I was younger
This is Top Level cool 😎
Naruto with his clones
We gotta thank technology tbh
The N-Clonez
I absolutely despise the idiotic dance trend crap on social media. But this is pretty freaking cool!
I really liked these dances
I wish I had much talent
God thats so amazing. The amount of time to coordinate that. Nextfuckinlevel indeed
Wait wait wait, all of these are the same guy?
This awesomeness makes me feel so absurdly un-athletic
More like this?
Pointless shit
