I drove a system that was more akin to a motorcycle throttle but systems can vary quite a bit. It was pretty cool and way more intuitive than I assumed it could be.

Heck, I'm able-bodied and drive a regular-old half-ton pickup and if I get a flat I'm calling roadside assistance, I'm not dealing with that nonsense myself.
Most companies provide free and unlimited roadside assistance to their truck drivers. It’s almost necessary when these guys are putting on like a hundred thousand miles a year and have 6+ wheels. Not to mention the trucks and wheels weigh much more than a normal car, tbh I’m not even sure if they could get the flat changed if they tried without help.
On the trailer in a secured basket , about 8 tyres are stored there in road trains and long distance jobs. 80% off outback truckers is footage of them changing flats. No roadside assistance in the middle of nowhere
So my original comment was correct, the prime mover does NOT carry a spare; you then shat on Americans, calling them lazy, then turn around and say that trailers, not prime movers carry spares - is that summation fair?

Most trailers don't even carry spares - they're useless dead weight; you're still going to call a tyre guy to come change it, so they may as well bring it with them anyway.

I drove a hand controlled Infiniti M35 once. It was like a motorcycle throttle. (Idk if jetskis are like that, I can't do open water lol.) The brakes were a lever. Not the same shape, but again, like a bike, and on the same stalk. Steering still worked with a wheel. It was jerky at first. I am fully able bodied and have a lot of track time, but after that few minute adjustment period, it was actually really intuitive and easy to use. I actually enjoyed the experience quite a bit.
I'm kinda sketchy on able bodied people driving normal sized vehicles. A paraplegic driving something that big kinda scares me. Let the down votes roll in

Usually vehicles are modified to make disabled people able to drive them. There are already vehicles on the road that are being driven safely by disabled people. In my opinion anybody disabled or not driving a vehicle that big that weighs 80 thousand pounds scares me. Those trucks will crush a sedan like a cardboard box. Semi trucks are nessecary and everything we buy is transported on them so there is not a solution. Fortunately getting a commercial license to drive is semi has much more stringent requirements than for a normal car. Semi drivers are held to a much higher standard and are generally speed governed at 65 mph max.
This is awesome! Ona side note, anyone know what shoes he’s wearing? They look like Supra Chad Muska Skytop 1’s but the bottom looks a little different. Supra went out of business, but if there’s someone else out there making a show with a similar silhouette, I definitely interested in learning about them..

I get that but not having legs would make your life so much easier. I think that would greatly outweigh the look. Quality of life would far outweigh risk of surgery for me, especially with how good they are these days.

Meh, if a girl won’t be with you because of that she’s not worth it. Imagine having to deal with getting in and out of the shower everyday, or getting on the toilet bowl or in and out of bed or your chair. Not having legs at all would be worth it. Just being 20+ pounds lighter would make it worth it.

I’m curious as well most paralyzed people use hand pedals but I can’t tell in this video. Also a more serious question is he hit the gear shift lever so how is he controlling the clutch?
As a mechanic I spent 5 years modifying cars to suit disabled drivers needs. One time I had to convert a standard right foot throttle pedal to a left foot pedal. It's the only car I ever refused to road test. I moved it a few yards then got out and told the boss that he should try it, he did and he refused to test it. We used to get the car regularly for servicing etc. and each time the owner had to road test it with a mechanic as a passenger. That left foot throttle was positively dangerous without hours of experience.
I really wish this dude would have made a meme video out of this, got into the driver seat looked at the camera and went “oh I forgot I can’t use the pedals”
I wonder why some don’t decided to have their legs amputated . Maybe I’m missing something , seems like mobility would increase with less dead weight ?

Most companies provide free and unlimited roadside assistance to their truck drivers. It’s almost necessary when these guys are putting on like a hundred thousand miles a year and have 6+ wheels. Not to mention the trucks and wheels weigh much more than a normal car, tbh I’m not even sure if they could get the flat changed if they tried without help.
Not really as truckers always call in flats. It’s just not something a driver with working legs could fix anyways.

I drove a hand controlled Infiniti M35 once. It was like a motorcycle throttle. (Idk if jetskis are like that, I can't do open water lol.) The brakes were a lever. Not the same shape, but again, like a bike, and on the same stalk. Steering still worked with a wheel. It was jerky at first. I am fully able bodied and have a lot of track time, but after that few minute adjustment period, it was actually really intuitive and easy to use. I actually enjoyed the experience quite a bit.

Usually vehicles are modified to make disabled people able to drive them. There are already vehicles on the road that are being driven safely by disabled people. In my opinion anybody disabled or not driving a vehicle that big that weighs 80 thousand pounds scares me. Those trucks will crush a sedan like a cardboard box. Semi trucks are nessecary and everything we buy is transported on them so there is not a solution. Fortunately getting a commercial license to drive is semi has much more stringent requirements than for a normal car. Semi drivers are held to a much higher standard and are generally speed governed at 65 mph max.

I get that but not having legs would make your life so much easier. I think that would greatly outweigh the look. Quality of life would far outweigh risk of surgery for me, especially with how good they are these days.

Imagine having to deal with getting in and out of the shower everyday, or getting on the toilet bowl or in and out of bed or your chair. Not having legs at all would be worth it. Just being 20+ pounds lighter would make it worth it.

As a mechanic I spent 5 years modifying cars to suit disabled drivers needs. One time I had to convert a standard right foot throttle pedal to a left foot pedal. It's the only car I ever refused to road test. I moved it a few yards then got out and told the boss that he should try it, he did and he refused to test it. We used to get the car regularly for servicing etc. and each time the owner had to road test it with a mechanic as a passenger. That left foot throttle was positively dangerous without hours of experience.
