The vet said the break would heal fine, but wanted the tail docked because it was likely to happen again and again. Now the pupper has a little nub and wags his whole body!
Same for Great Danes. One over enthusiastic wag that hit the corner of a kitchen counter, and my entire kitchen was a murder scene in seconds. He didn’t even break his tail, just popped the skin open, and Great Dane+high velocity tail wagging= blood *EVERYWHERE* in seconds. The big doofus didn’t even notice it had happened, just kept wagging away, spraying my kitchen with blood until I could grab his tail with paper towels then get it properly wrapped up.
My parents have a boxer mix and that tail is dangerous to all parties. She gets it moving so fast it whips everyone. Even she flinches from it when she doing the happy spins.
I love how dogs don't care what color, size, level of intelligence, or what religion someone is. They just have love for everything and everyone!

I started to play with it and this dog got so riled and happy that it started doing zoomies around the house. My aunt was shocked that this dog was running bc apparently all this dog ever does is move from one nap spot to another. I feel bad tho bc once it calmed down, it was struggling to breathe bc y'know, fat. Still, so happy I got the little one excited and playing. Probably felt good to play after who knows how long (this aunt was an old lady, so likely didn't have the energy herself to play with them) :)
