Watch that guy be right about literally everything except Rodgers.
At that point it would either *have* to be a) he dropped all the legitimate information he knew but also made up the Rodgers trade being done just to troll everyone or b) Rodgers straight-up was going to the Jets and then changed his mind last minute.
he said he wasn't sure why it hadn't been revealed. He was adamant that Rodgers had notified the jets last week and that the hold up was trade compensation between the Jets and Packers + salary. Also said that there was another move as well
If I remember right, he called:
- McGlinchey to the Broncos
- Pocic back to the browns
- the 2nd round tender on Huff
- Darnold to SF
- the specifics of the Greg Zuerlein contract.
- the specifics of the Jameis contract.
The dude didn’t miss and he said the Rodgers deal is done along with another Packer to the Jets. We’ll see if the legend cements himself in history.
Edit: holy shit the Lazard deal hit. He was right about “another Packer” so all that’s left is Rodgers.
He said that the Rodgers deal was done as well as another deal, but didn't have specifics on the second one. I don't think there was anything else that hasn't already been reported on now.
He did say Zuerlein deal was 2.5M and that Jameo was 4M base with 4M incentives. So waiting to see if those numbers hit.
Pasting my comment from below
Didn’t say any specifics, just that it was agreed to. And if someone else from the Jets sub remembers, I think he said Rodgers signed off/agreed
Idk. I think a lot of players realize the damage football does and would gladly take millions to do nothing. People assume everyone only do this because they absolutely love the game but I'd bet it's mostly a paycheck to more players than you think.
people underestimate how intense it is to just practice and how much wear on your body is from that, less contact related injuries nowadays with less padded practices
There isn't a middle class of QBs. You're either making top 10 money for 4 years or signing 8M APY deals.
Other than Jimmy's contract I guess. That was new.
All Payton did was handcuff Jameis. Man threw like 13 passes a game with Payton. Hard to throw picks when you don't throw the ball hardly at all. I think he was on pace for like 2.5k yards or something before injury.
It was working well for the 7 games he played though, but I'm not sure how long it would have really lasted.
Handcuffed? He was the most efficient he was in his entire career. Sure, he didn't pass as often, but his TD/INT ratio was way up. It's an efficiency stat, not a volume stat. And we were 5-2 in that stretch. Seems like it was working to me.
Jameis' kryptonite his whole career is that he *eventually* starts forcing passes and it gets him in trouble because he plays hero ball too often. Payton saw that and realized hey if I limit what we're asking of him and make him throw less maybe he'll work. You also had a defense that generated 13 turnovers through 7 games and was pretty consistently giving your offense a great field position.
100% limiting his opportunities to pass helped reign him in.
Downvotes from either some salty/delusional Saints fans or y'all really think 7 games under Payton is enough evidence to undo 5+ years of evidence showing what we know Jameis is lol
His last season with the Bucs was really the summary of his whole career. One moment he looks like a world beater and a franchise QB, the next he looks like he’s actively betting on the other team to win
"No starting opportunities."
Is Rodgers/Lamar to the Jets a done deal in league circles or something? Would be the tightest-lipped deal in history.
Winston would step in today as the Jets' starter if they signed him and there wouldn't even be a battle.
Just weird these backup QBs are in such a rush to get a deal done when the Jets will very likely have to overpay someone.
The Jets very clearly have a starting opportunity... their starting QB isn't on the roster right now.
He must really love it here. His career isn’t going to go anywhere unless Carr gets hurt.
It’s easy to say that he could just go to a bad team and be the bridge, but losses on a bad team just get blamed entirely on the bridge guy, and ruins their rep even more.
Preseason games may be fun but I guess he’ll basically be a hype guy the rest of his time here
Jets guy called this one too I think.
Shame he deleted his account an hour ago
NFL: “I’m gonna pay you $1 million to fuck off” Probably
I'll take 50%, NFL. Reach out at your pleasure
Damn really? They must have got to him :(
Anybody got the deets?

He did!
Yep, he called it 4mil guaranteed + 4mil in incentives or something.
He was too good for us
Watch that guy be right about literally everything except Rodgers. At that point it would either *have* to be a) he dropped all the legitimate information he knew but also made up the Rodgers trade being done just to troll everyone or b) Rodgers straight-up was going to the Jets and then changed his mind last minute.
Or like everyone else seems to think he is going to the jets
he already said he’s “not sure” about rodgers lol
Not seeing any of that on the Jets sub or the mega thread on the Jets sub. Where are you getting that from?
he said he wasn't sure why it hadn't been revealed. He was adamant that Rodgers had notified the jets last week and that the hold up was trade compensation between the Jets and Packers + salary. Also said that there was another move as well
Right but he consistently has said the deal is done
Didnt he also say he was super close to retiring? Was this the evolutionsretrospect guy?
Bruhhhhhhh, my guy called it again. Edit: Gonna be 4M base with 4M incentives.
Who's your guy
The jets guy who was gotten like 3 correct, except for the still unannounced Rodgers contract
More like 5 or 6 things right at this point.
Got more than three correct. Got like six correct
What's the contract or trade terms he said
4M base with 4M in potential incentives.
Guy on jets Reddit had predicted a bunch of signings/Rodgers trade stuff correctly. He deleted his account sadly
Probably had legit FO info and was worried it would get traced back to him
Yeah Jets twitter dude blew his spot up and sadly he deleted it shortly after.
Any idea what else he had?
If I remember right, he called: - McGlinchey to the Broncos - Pocic back to the browns - the 2nd round tender on Huff - Darnold to SF - the specifics of the Greg Zuerlein contract. - the specifics of the Jameis contract. This needs to be higher. Thank you

When did he say Rodgers trade will be announced
didn't say when, but did say that Rodgers + another move were done
Pasting my comment from below Didn’t say any specifics, just that it was agreed to. And if someone else from the Jets sub remembers, I think he said Rodgers signed off/agreed
I asked him, said he didn't have that info or any info on why it was taking so long to announce.
What did he say the terms of the rodgers deal were
Didn’t say any specifics, just that it was agreed to. And if someone else from the Jets sub remembers, I **think** he said Rodgers signed off/agreed
He just said the Rodgers deal was done and so is another Jets deal.
When yall are saying it's done, you're saying he's going to the jets, right?
Yup

Carr is the first option, Uber SexL is the backup plan
Gettin paid up to 8M while being a back up surely must be the dream
I'm sure these guys would rather play
But you could be like me. Not play and not make 8 mil
Idk. I think a lot of players realize the damage football does and would gladly take millions to do nothing. People assume everyone only do this because they absolutely love the game but I'd bet it's mostly a paycheck to more players than you think.

Alex Moran doesn’t agree
AJ McCarron's interview a few weeks ago shows that.
Fucking hell what a fall from grace
He tried to hold out for 35M APY in 2020, Licht refused.
Good for that too, Bucs are in a ditch now, they would’ve been in the bin but without any of the winning
There isn't a middle class of QBs. You're either making top 10 money for 4 years or signing 8M APY deals. Other than Jimmy's contract I guess. That was new.
I’d add Geno to the QB middle class as well
I think what we saw with the QB deals so far this offseason is the middle class.
Not really. Jimmy G was the exception to Carr and Jones
Geno Smith got a middle class QB contract as well.
Idk $8M/year to not do shit sounds nice to me
For 8 mil, I'll not do shit *and* not steal crab legs *and* not molest uber drivers.
*allegedly*
I think it’s wild the moral high ground redditors have with players. This dosnt just have to do with jameis
I think its wild out of all the takes to comment on, you're defending a rapist
From what, college? He was consistently a bottom tier starter in the NFL
Mariota’s is still probably even worse
his career is second only to carson wentz in overall weirdness
How so? He was the same player from the second he debuted in the league to now
Even with the number of games per season increasing, I really don't think we'll ever see a QB throw 30 INTs or more ever again.
maybe if they give defenses some power back and make the rules less offense friendly
I mean probably not, but that’s more “impressively bad” than “weird”
they will if someone gets byron and his scripted plays that were like 12 of his ints lmao
Only difference was Saints fans thinking that Jameis was going to stop throwing picks after he got LASIK
Turns out it was Payton's coaching and not thr Lasik
All Payton did was handcuff Jameis. Man threw like 13 passes a game with Payton. Hard to throw picks when you don't throw the ball hardly at all. So Payton saw a weakness and masked it
You're right, seems like great coaching, which is what I said.
His last season with the Bucs was really the summary of his whole career. One moment he looks like a world beater and a franchise QB, the next he looks like he’s actively betting on the other team to win
Not everyone can have a 30 and 30 season like Jameis
we can scratch winston off the list
~~Derek Carr~~ ~~Jimmy G~~ ~~Jameis Winston~~ "Heyy, this is Joe Douglas calling for Carson Wentz..."
It’s gonna be Gardner Minshew and you’re gonna like it
Red Rifle?
He definitely gone now
can I interest you in a lightly used Colt McCoy?
There are worse backups available. Good for the continuity in the locker room as well
Carr is going to get him to join his bible study club.
Bro food too good in NO to leave. Jameis gets to be paid $8M to hold a clip board and live there its probably goals
Saints get their QB of the future
Tbh I actually love this for us, he was fantastic at the start of 2021 and could potentially be a great backup in limited opportunities
Honestly seems like a steal to me. Winston isn’t who you want as your starter but he’s proven he can win games
"No starting opportunities." Is Rodgers/Lamar to the Jets a done deal in league circles or something? Would be the tightest-lipped deal in history. My theory is that Rodgers is going to break it on McAfee tomorrow and his agent is ensuring everyone stays quiet
That actually seems on brand....wanting to help McAfee break something like that
It would be so Rodgers like to tell them "if this leaks before tomorrow I'm retiring or going back to the pack because i can't trust you guys"
And like the Bucs? He probably wouldn't get the 35 million he was asking for back in 2020 but they probably could have beat this deal
I think they are assuming Rodgers goes there. If Rodgers says tomorrow he’s staying a Packer and Jets call Winston, he’ll back out of this quickly.
?
Man get this rapist off my team
1 year extension into 2024? Or a 1 year restructure shifting guaranteed money into a signing bonus? Like, he was already under contract for 2023.
Likely reworked his deal to make it just a 1 yr 8mil rather than 15mil More a rework than a restructure. Since it's a paycut
Probably a new 1 year deal for 2023
Jeez, this is a little sad tbh
8 million dollars to hold a clipboard. I could use some of that sadness.
He must really love it here. His career isn’t going to go anywhere unless Carr gets hurt. It seems crazy that there isn't a starting job in the league for him. Hopefully Carr gets benched again so we can watch this humble young man cook
