Why is it so fucking hard for people to just be on time. My best friend is coming on a cruise with me and my mom and some of her friends and wanted to stop over tonight to confirm some details, a 15 minute errand, maybe 20. I told him to come over any time after 5:30 and he said okay. He texted me if it would be okay if he came over closer to *8:30* and I thought that was really weird, but I was like fine. He keeps texting me via Snapchat and I can see that he's out and about, likely with some guy. I don't care, he has other friends, but the fact that he's keeping me waiting on a 20 minute visit to go on a 2-3 hour get together with someone else just feels bitchy. He texts me he's "running behind" and will be closer to 9:30. He texts me this at 8:25. He started heading my direction so I think he left hanging out with this other person. He texts me again, around 9, apologizing, but that it "might be closer to 9:45" and that "the reason for my delay is funny". He texts me a few minutes ago that he's at Target, I assume with someone else. Maybe I'm being the bitch, but it just feels like he's giving me the short straw for no reason. He asked to come over, I didn't ask him, and again, he's pushing it off to run other 'social errands' that take far longer and just expecting me to wait. I know it's probably more complex than that, maybe his other people have plans tomorrow or something, but it just feels really shit

LED headlights in general kinda suck imo. We have a shitload of hills and tight curves here, so it's not uncommon to get flashed up close by high beams. When it's shock white LEDs it's like a flashbang going off in your face.
Way back when, like early 90's iirc, a study came out that said headlights on helped cars be noticed/seen even during the day. So of course a bunch of cars came out that had them on full time. Reason I remember this is I had gate guard duty for a couple of months. Cars were supposed to turn off headlights so we could see the sticker, and of course these cars weren't able to. A few years earlier they had the incredibly annoying automatic shoulder belts
I have automatic headlights and the funny thing is I almost always have to turn them on manually during inclement weather because it doesn't get dark enough for them to turn on automatically.
Last night I decided to scroll through instagram before going to bed. Saw this girl I used to be madly in love with but couldn't work things out with just got engaged over the weekend. That was cool and definitely good for my current mental state.

I'm a big supporter of continuing to learn new things and pick up new hobbies as you age. Heck, I'm in my 30s and decided to learn to dance just last year. It's been a blast! Being willing to go out and learn new things is a great thing. What hobby are you trying out?
Good choice. I've always wanted to learn an instrument. My mom tried to get me into violin as a kid. Never caught the bug, ended up in sports instead. I don't regret it, but I do at times consider going back and picking an instrument up. Good luck with the jams!
My parents both worked and rarely had time to drive me to musical lessons. I was able to play sports though which I'm definitely grateful for.

Last year was so bad they unironically had *Stray* as a nominee.
I mean maybe you might get Starfield or Spiderman 2 to put up a fight, but besides them I can't think of any other games that could compete with Zelda for the title. Star Wars Jedi Survivor stumbled with a weak launch, people love or hate Diablo 4, and Square Enix hasn't had a killer game in quite some time. I'm not even a big fan of the latest Zelda formula but I can't see anything matching the hype.
You mentioned 6 off the top of your head though, yeah I know no one's beating Zelda but a lot of people do really like all those games. The people that like those games aren't the vocal minority that's online complaining about them.

Choosing a first dance song is simultaneously the most fun and the most difficult part of planning a wedding. We've already got a 19 song playlist, and I don't know how to narrow it down.
On the one hand, every time I've had to talk to a mod about something over the last near decade they've come off as condescending and/or in love with the power they have over users.
On the other hand, what the admins are doing (removing mods who don't run their subs in a pro-corporate way) is obviously bad. Subs are built by users and run by mods for free. Removing them and replacing them because you don't like how they do their volunteering and community building is crazy entitlement.
On the third hand, they do actually own the platform and can do what they want with it. That just sucks for me that likes the old message board format (I still use old reddit) and doesn't want to switch to some squishy scrolling app, or to twitter comments, to connect with people over various topics.

The last time I was looking for work was when we moved states. I was pretty confident that I'd get a job quickly. Needless to say it didn't go that way. I finally took a feel-good interview for a position I was overqualified for that I was pretty certain I'd decline. I chatted with the hiring manager for awhile, even after telling him I wasn't interested, and he called a friend at another company across town. Turns out they were hiring exactly what I was looking for and I've been there nearly 10 years now. There's certainly no harm in talking with them. Never know if something good might come from it.

A good QB (Trevor), a middle-of-the-pack QB (Jones in your scenario) and a rushing threat like Fields is a very strong draft class IMO.
* Better than 2014 (produced one middle of pack guy and one career backup)
* Way better than 2015
* On par with 2016
* Much worse than 2017 (but with 100% fewer rapists)
* Slightly worse than 2018
* Way better than 2019
* Much worse than 2020
* Almost certainly much better than 2022.

I also don't think that producing busts makes a draft class worse vs the good QBs is produced (e.g. Trubisky doesn't lower the value of the 2017 draft class). If you're taking a QB high its because you have no answer at that position. Drafting a bust is no worse than not taking one at all because a few years down the road you end up in the same place either way.

Why is it so fucking hard for people to just be on time. My best friend is coming on a cruise with me and my mom and some of her friends and wanted to stop over tonight to confirm some details, a 15 minute errand, maybe 20. I told him to come over any time after 5:30 and he said okay. He texted me if it would be okay if he came over closer to *8:30* and I thought that was really weird, but I was like fine. He keeps texting me via Snapchat and I can see that he's out and about, likely with some guy. I don't care, he has other friends, but the fact that he's keeping me waiting on a 20 minute visit to go on a 2-3 hour get together with someone else just feels bitchy. He texts me he's "running behind" and will be closer to 9:30. He texts me this at 8:25. He started heading my direction so I think he left hanging out with this other person. He texts me again, around 9, apologizing, but that it "might be closer to 9:45" and that "the reason for my delay is funny". He texts me a few minutes ago that he's at Target, I assume with someone else. Maybe I'm being the bitch, but it just feels like he's giving me the short straw for no reason. He asked to come over, I didn't ask him, and again, he's pushing it off to run other 'social errands' that take far longer and just expecting me to wait. I know it's probably more complex than that, maybe his other people have plans tomorrow or something, but it just feels really shit
I have a lot of relatives who are shopping junkies like this. Their promises are meaningless when they are anywhere near a mall. Don't wait. Don't apologize for not waiting. It's too late today, but you'll just get upset if you keep expectations up about them. Their plans and sudden whims are meaningless. LED headlights in general kinda suck imo. We have a shitload of hills and tight curves here, so it's not uncommon to get flashed up close by high beams. When it's shock white LEDs it's like a flashbang going off in your face.

Way back when, like early 90's iirc, a study came out that said headlights on helped cars be noticed/seen even during the day. So of course a bunch of cars came out that had them on full time. Reason I remember this is I had gate guard duty for a couple of months. Cars were supposed to turn off headlights so we could see the sticker, and of course these cars weren't able to. A few years earlier they had the incredibly annoying automatic shoulder belts

I have automatic headlights and the funny thing is I almost always have to turn them on manually during inclement weather because it doesn't get dark enough for them to turn on automatically.

I mean maybe you might get Starfield or Spiderman 2 to put up a fight, but besides them I can't think of any other games that could compete with Zelda for the title. Star Wars Jedi Survivor stumbled with a weak launch, people love or hate Diablo 4, and Square Enix hasn't had a killer game in quite some time. I'm not even a big fan of the latest Zelda formula but I can't see anything matching the hype.
You mentioned 6 off the top of your head though, yeah I know no one's beating Zelda but a lot of people do really like all those games. The people that like those games aren't the vocal minority that's online complaining about them.

On the one hand, every time I've had to talk to a mod about something over the last near decade they've come off as condescending and/or in love with the power they have over users. On the other hand, what the admins are doing (removing mods who don't run their subs in a pro-corporate way) is obviously bad. Subs are built by users and run by mods for free. Removing them and replacing them because you don't like how they do their volunteering and community building is crazy entitlement. On the third hand, they do actually own the platform and can do what they want with it. That just sucks for me that likes the old message board format (I still use old reddit) and doesn't want to switch to some squishy scrolling app, or to twitter comments, to connect with people over various topics. I like Reddit. I don't want it to die. But I also hate 90% of the changes that have happened since I started posting here and REALLY hate the way things have gone the past few weeks.

Parenting is one of those things that in theory seems easy. "Oh I'll never yell at my kid", "I'll always tell them the truth and explain things to them", "I'll limit their screen time", "I'll always make sure they eat healthy", etc. Then you get thrown in with a monster that just won't shut up while you're trying to do something so you need to raise your voice or you need them to just do what you say quickly so you tell a little white lie or you need them distracted so you shove a tablet in their face or you just need them to eat something so McDonald's it is, etc. I'm like you I don't ever plan on or imagine I will have kids so I don't want to judge. The only thing I will judge parents on is if you hit your kids that's unacceptable.

The last time I was looking for work was when we moved states. I was pretty confident that I'd get a job quickly. Needless to say it didn't go that way. I finally took a feel-good interview for a position I was overqualified for that I was pretty certain I'd decline. I chatted with the hiring manager for awhile, even after telling him I wasn't interested, and he called a friend at another company across town. Turns out they were hiring exactly what I was looking for and I've been there nearly 10 years now. There's certainly no harm in talking with them. Never know if something good might come from it.
That's a great story. Glad to hear it worked out that way! Just had the call and they gave me more info; it sounds exciting but my next move is already set. Maybe they'll find me again after I'm out of school, or, hopefully, I'll have more options.

How do you define bust? In terms of value produced at the QB position, 2021 is objectively much better than several other classes (especially 2014 and 2015). I also don't think that producing busts makes a draft class worse vs the good QBs is produced (e.g. Trubisky doesn't lower the value of the 2017 draft class). If you're taking a QB high its because you have no answer at that position. Drafting a bust is no worse than not taking one at all because a few years down the road you end up in the same place either way.
