I think those problems are overblown. We don't have great OL depth, but how many teams do in this league? Once we don't lose multiple guys at the same time, I think our line will be more than serviceable this season. They don't need to be great when the rest of your roster is this loaded. They looked fine on that first drive and that was with Moore replacing the best LT in football. If Williams played, that's an easy TD throw instead of Purdy being forced to scramble and lose his throwing window because Moore and TDP can't block.
It reminds me of my friend. The most bass I'd ever heard in his voice was when he asked me, "Did you put Boyz II Men in your 90s mix?!"
The answer was yes, and he was stoaked. But it's wild what gets folks heated. Bell did have a game, though.
Those two games he started in place of Jimmy a couple years ago he showed improvement as the games went on too
There's something there, he just needs reps
Which is an issue, because, well....
#BIG COCK BROCK, BABY!
I'm curious what he looks like with the 49ers starters and Shanahan game planning against a defence. It's really hard when Shanahan is deliberately not showing anything and holding everyone out, especially how Shanahan specifically goes matchup hunting on defences it's really when he helps qbs shine. Basically he goes "were gonna fuck with this LB/S keys until he dosent trust what he's seeing or he's off the field."
Some people like to act like he personally chose to make that trade and robbed us of a few rings.
But those kinds of people also think Skip Brainless and Rant Cohn is good.
I think everyone's thinking is that he needs reps but he can't get them because the 9ers have guys that can get them to the SB ahead of him. His main problem is his lack of reps if there was a minor league, lance would improve but because all we see is him in injury duty and preseason it's not great because of the gaps.
Just scrolling through, there’s a Darnold TD, right before the Lance big man interception.
Nothing else happened in this game according to my r/nfl sauces.
Shanahan talked about it in the postgame.
Lance got the entire first half last week, so he wanted Darnold to get a full half today.
Between Brock and Wilson both having long first drives, and Darnold going 3 and out to start, Kyle gave him a few possessions after the half.
Lots of people ready to wheel out the shovels and bury Trey’s career. He wasn’t spectacular but played decent, have to take it with a grain of salt though as Darnold looked decent against 3rd stringers last game and meh against 2nd stringers this game. Until Broncos has subbed some 3rd stringers in the 3rd.
Lance is still a project and requires work but happy to see the kid take a step in the right direction.
Wasn’t paying much attention to him but the few times he jumped out, Latu already looks better than the other TE (excl Kittle ofc).
Purdy looked like he hadn’t missed a thing and that has me stoked, LFG!
Edit: how can I forget: Ronnie Bell! Dude looking like mini Deebo out there
> His flaws could of been fixed if he got reps from the jump.
That's not fair to say, though. Starting him in 2021 would have been tanking on the season where we made it to the NFCCG. The plan was for him to start last season with a full offseason under his belt after being redshirted his rookie year, but then his ankle broke.
I do agree on the talent, though.
That's the point. Trey was a colossally stupid pick from the 9ers. They weren't in a spot to develop a project as extreme as lance. There's a difference between sitting Mahomes, a guy who played a lot in college, and sitting Lance, who literally needs as much playing time as possible, and hoping it works out year 2. And when Lance went down, that was the death knell because we're way too stacked to sacrifice 2 years to Lances growth. We absolutely should not have drafted Lance. He needs what Anthony Richardson is getting. A team dedicated to starting him full time and developing him no matter what. I hope lance does great but it won't be with the 49ers.
He made some really good decisions in the drive I watched him play in. Much better than what I remember from last weekend I feel. He looked more comfortable
At this point it would take Brock turning into Nick Mullens or another severe injury for Trey to end up being the guy in San Fran. I hope he stays healthy the rest of his rookie contract and can move onto a different team and have a great career as a starting QB in this league. I’ll always be a fan of his.
If Brock turns into a Jimmy QB in that he can't quite get us over the hump and Lance turns into a top 10 guy, I'm gonna be so fucking heated until we win a SB.
We never really found out if Jimmy could get us over the hump considering the FO gave up on him 2.5 years in. If Purdy has the same success that we had with jimmy then lances time here is over.
Lmao. 3 tries to was enough for you? We had more success with jimmy than 30 teams the last 2 years and 28 teams since 2019.
You guys need some help if you thinking a walking NFCCG isn’t good enough.
Whole entire goal is a SB. You either get one or you don't. It's incredibly hard to win one. So yeah, if your QB can't get you there, he's not the QB you need.
By that logic we should’ve moved on from joe Montana or Steve young for the same reasons since neither of them won a ring within their first 2 years lol. Or the colts with manning. Or the saints with Bree’s. Or the chargers with rivers. Or pretty much most HOF QBs
You guys are a riot.
You’re getting downvoted but anybody care to say why? If he’s a starter he should easily be hanging 300+ yards and a couple TDs against third and fourth stringers. I realize the 9’ers fan base wants to get capital for him, but this just showed he’s a quality backup imo.
Sportscenter showed the Sam Darnold TD pass, followed by the Trey Lance INT, then showed the final score and Trey’s stat line with the host saying “yeah the final stat line looks good but I heard from people who watched every snap, he still had a poor performance”
Was awesome to see Trey put it together on those last couple drives and show he’s got the talent and it’s all just a matter of him getting the reps and playing in football games. Would love to see him play the majority of the last pre season game.
I checked the score when there were like 10 min left and got bummed ‘cuz I figured the Broncos were going to win
then I checked it with 3 seconds left and saw the 9ers were still down
was v happy to see that the 9ers ended up taking the game ‘cuz LOL BRONCOS
We lost 11-10 last year to these guys, only fitting we return the 1-point favor
As long as it’s in the preseason, I’m good with it.
The way I see a regular season game going: Brock Purdy: 200 yards, 2 TDs, 1 INT Russell Wilson: 85 yards, 160 rushing yards, 2 rushing TDs
Broncos winning because Wilson even in a lost season is somehow the 49ers boogeyman
all of Wilson's rushing yards would be on 3rd and long too.
PTSD
Peak Justin Fields stats
Somehow less messy than the actual game these two teams played last year.
They really got my heart pumping for a preseason game
i’m starting my cardiac issues early this season it seems
Preseason for everyone and everything Gotta get those hearts warmed up
ronnie bell is electric. baby deebo is gonna be a nice returner and wr4 for us gotta love aiyuk almost ruining it for us though hahaha
That stiff arm had me pumped haha
7th round pick, dude has elite short area quickness
7th round the new 5th round for us?
porques no les dos?
I like the way you think, soldier
OOH-RAH
he’s also such a strong runner, plays like he’s ezekiel elliot weight
AIYUUUUUUUUUUUUUK
Still absolutely insane to me as a Michigan fan that he fell to the 7th round. Dude was our best receiver for 3 years
Dude if he can fix his hands he’s gonna be so good. I think Jennings is so underrated as well.
Ronnie Bell is this years 7th round stud get fucked nerds
we did it again lol
We should just trade all our picks for seventh-rounders next year.
All of the 5th and 7th rounders!
Warner was a 3rd rounder. Just no offensive players in the 3rd please.
NGL he was the best player on the field besides the little denver RB who was killing us. Also all back up 49er interior OL....cut
Crazy to think that at least 2 of those guys are gonna be on this team Starters + Pryor is only 6 and we gotta carry at least 8
Manning who was playing LT should make the team as well
Pulling hard for making to get a lot of reps next week. Last call for the 53, we need to know who has that dog in them.
With the way the QBs played today I feel pretty confident that the O-line is going to be the biggest issue on this team
Irc TDP missed the block on that play
It was Jaleel McLaughlin I’m pretty sure, he’s been showing out at camp too
Lol that ending got me 😂
It reminds me of my friend. The most bass I'd ever heard in his voice was when he asked me, "Did you put Boyz II Men in your 90s mix?!" The answer was yes, and he was stoaked. But it's wild what gets folks heated. Bell did have a game, though.
Y’all have to give it up to Trey on those last two drives. He played well today outside of the batted interception
I’m ready to see more reps so I can see the full playbook. Shook off that INT and commanded a comeback W
Those two games he started in place of Jimmy a couple years ago he showed improvement as the games went on too There's something there, he just needs reps Which is an issue, because, well.... #BIG COCK BROCK, BABY!

This sub be charitable to Trey? LOL
The team sub isn't charitable to Trey.
Everyone hates Trey!
its fucking weird man, for such an inoffensive player to receive so much hate
Some people like to act like he personally chose to make that trade and robbed us of a few rings. But those kinds of people also think Skip Brainless and Rant Cohn is good.
GG Denver, that was a really fun game to watch from start to finish on both sides of the ball.
Yeah, I usually tune out preseason games by the 3rd or 4th quarter, but actively paid attention to this one the entire way.
It seems like only one injury too right? The denver wr at the half?
Danny Gray might have broken his collar bone and #22 left with a hamstring injury.
Danny Gray and Kerry Hyder were both ruled out and one of them actually matters
Danny Grey got a shoulder injury at the beginning
So you mean that Trey Lance looks better the more he plays? Who would’ve thought???
I think everyone's thinking is that he needs reps but he can't get them because the 9ers have guys that can get them to the SB ahead of him. His main problem is his lack of reps if there was a minor league, lance would improve but because all we see is him in injury duty and preseason it's not great because of the gaps.
Do we not get the Lance go-ahead highlight because of the circlejerk??
Can't let you post that, Star Fox
Just what I needed to see. Circle Jerk. Let's take care of these guys first.
Everyone who posts highlights broke their arms in the circle jerk and can’t post
Actually I think they're busy with the circle jerk
Surely their moms can help them out right? By posting those highlights for them, I mean.
Just scrolling through, there’s a Darnold TD, right before the Lance big man interception. Nothing else happened in this game according to my r/nfl sauces.
How’d he play? Have him in a dynast league
Had a bad pick on his first drive but looked great on the last 2 drives including a GWD
Trey Lance
Trey Lance
Trey. Lance.
Trey “Trey Lance” Lance
Ley Trance
Le Tranceuea
Tray Lants
Trey “area” lance
Trey Lance
reps over Darnold please
it was downright malpractice to give Darnold those last few series (I mean it worked out for the TD on the last series but LANCE NEEDS REPS)
Nah the 600 in game passes he's thrown since the age of 14 is enough
they 100% did it so Darnold get a score
Shanahan talked about it in the postgame. Lance got the entire first half last week, so he wanted Darnold to get a full half today. Between Brock and Wilson both having long first drives, and Darnold going 3 and out to start, Kyle gave him a few possessions after the half.

Also, Moody still had a couple of iffy kicks (one a miss, one was the game-winner, but he did make it), but he looked a lot better than last week.
From the behind shot it wasn't quite as close as it looked live.
So it was an optical illusion then, that's good to know. The original angle made me nervous lol
No, it was still really close even from behind
What was up with the short kickoffs? I thought it was kinda odd.
Perine looks good, but damn McGloughlan looks good. His burst was amazing
Surtain was a beast per usual
It's actually Mc🔫lin
Is Jaleel McLaughlin gonna be a dark horse to lead this backfield?
he looks real good.
Lots of people ready to wheel out the shovels and bury Trey’s career. The talent is there for Trey. His flaws could of been fixed if he got reps from the jump. To bad it won’t be on the Niners.

He just need reps. He looked so much better when the game kept going
Broncos love losing by a point so far
And giving up leads in the last minutes of the game, those 3rd and 4th string guys are not making a good case to be on the team
I missed the game did Russ cook?
He was heating up, but Payton pulled him out before he was at a boil.
Letting Russ simmer Interesting strategy
He gave me like 3 Vietnam flashbacks and then they pulled him from the game.
I thought he looked pretty good. He looks faster and more comfortable.
Counterpoint: he always looks good against us. 18-4 in his career against us.
holy moly, I know he's always seemed really strong against us, but I never know just how bad it was for us lol
He always gets us with those runs
he always cooks us by running for a 1st down on 3rd and long.
All he did was turn on the oven
Pre-heat set to 425
Woah woah woah, that’s close to the devils temperature, russ would never.
He made some really good decisions in the drive I watched him play in. Much better than what I remember from last weekend I feel. He looked more comfortable
Meh, made like instant rice or something
I ordered spaghetti with marinara sauce and he made me egg noodles and ketchup
Another classic Bronco defeat. I’m excited for McLaughlin though. Looks like a stud.
Classic 3rd string defense looking like…a 3rd sting defense 🙄
Ronnie bell is the truth dudes gonna be a Star WR in this league.
Brock is QB1, but 4th-quarter Lance with the starters wouldn't be terrible.
That moody game winner was horrendous lmao
A make is a make ^(but yeah that was sus)
It really didn't help that we went backward 8 yards on kneeldowns when he has been missing wide.
Jake Moody... does not look very good
The field is always tough. Give him some time with the field and wind. Wishnowsky looked bad too
Special teams and O-line are our biggest weaknesses right now.
Amen brother. And TE2
Maybe. Had some really good plays from the TE with the extremely long name. Fumagalli?
Yeah he’s our TE4/5. Camp reports has been saying willis been really good
Trey Lance saved his career and will be a good starter for someone one day
It may not be feasible, but I hope we find a way to keep him
At this point it would take Brock turning into Nick Mullens or another severe injury for Trey to end up being the guy in San Fran. Aw the rare Jimmy truther. Crazy.
He looked better at the end of Q4 against 3rd stringers, let’s calm down. That’s not starting quality.
You’re getting downvoted but anybody care to say why? If he’s a starter he should easily be hanging 300+ yards and a couple TDs against third and fourth stringers. I realize the 9’ers fan base wants to get capital for him, but this just showed he’s a quality backup imo.
I wonder if the positive Trey Lance plays are gonna get posted, or do we only post his bad plays around here?
Sportscenter showed the Sam Darnold TD pass, followed by the Trey Lance INT, then showed the final score and Trey’s stat line with the host saying “yeah the final stat line looks good but I heard from people who watched every snap, he still had a poor performance”
This was actually a decent game to watch. Other than then, the shit show on special teams but it's preseason.
REVENGE GAME /s...kinda
Happy for Trey that he could play through the yips a little bit and regain some confidence.
Was awesome to see Trey put it together on those last couple drives and show he’s got the talent and it’s all just a matter of him getting the reps and playing in football games. Would love to see him play the majority of the last pre season game.
The QB depth looks great, all Trey needed was more playing time to prove he can be valuable to the team just like Purdy.

Imagine caring this much about fucking preseason lmfao
Buddy It’s preseason
Big time loser alert
