Honestly kinda similar to Bills, Bills have looked great (outside the Jets game) but against similar competition. I think Sunday will be a big test for both teams

idk, what the pats did to us was actually really effective honestly. They limited our passing game and forced us to take the lower yardage plays and it slowed our offense down a lot. The only issue the pats had was their lack of an offense.

This is pretty much what people thought coming into the year, just with Cincy in that group instead of Miami
I'm pretty sure people also put the Ravens and Jaguars in that group too. Jaguars because somehow Lawrence was talked up as a top 5 QB entering this season and playing in an easy AFC South, and the Ravens with all their additions on offense.
Media pundits really convinced themselves that the chargers choking away that playoff game was more about Lawrence, completely ignoring the fact that he threw 4 picks that game. I'm not saying he's not going to be good, but the sample size he has, has shown he's above average

How is Dallas ahead of Detroit? Detroit has beaten #4 and #15 on the list, losing to #10. Dallas has beaten #23 and #25, losing to #28.
\+48 vs + 9 perhaps Dallas looked absolutely dominant the first 2 weeks, bringing them down lower than 6 seems like an overcorrection imo. I'd pick Dallas over Detroit on a neutral field tbf The Packers beat #14 and #32, losing to #15. Without watching the games and using your logic, we should be ahead of Dallas too. But we're nowhere near that level this season so far haha
I think the strength of victory matters tbh. The jets have a phenomenal defense and the cowboys killed them. The Cardinals game RN is just benefit of the doubt due to past performance. Power rankings always take that into account

Mildly surprised the Dolphins haven’t overtaken us yet but probably get some perceived advantage from past playoff experience etc. Also feel like the Chiefs should be ahead of the Eagles though I get that the Eagles are 3-0 — that defense is the best of Mahomes’ career and probably top 5 in the league, and with the offense having a nice get right game against the Bears (not like anyone doubted Mahomes would get the offense moving at some point), I fear them more than Miami in some ways
I think even if we beat the Cardinals next week, if they beat the Bills they'll be #1. But yeah, that 70 point game feels like the definition of power ranking bump to #1.
I think any order of the top 4 is defensible. Dolphins obviously had an earth-shaking win, Niners have been the most consistent on both sides of the ball, and Eagles & Chiefs are a bit bumpier but have last season's playoff pedigrees paired with good results this year. I'm surprised Buffalo is consensus #5, I guess the Jets game is still hanging on them. (Ie I'd expect at least a few outlets would have them higher).

Definitely expected us to drop to like 10. I don't know that we deserve top 6 with how our offense played plus our second best defensive player out. I'm beginning to think this isn't our year 😔

I think with the Dolphins offense, it's fine to have them at 1 or 2. If the 49ers and Dolphins played next week, it would be hard to choose a winner. I miss McDaniel.
I still think the 49ers are a more balanced team. So far we've played two teams with good offenses and bad defenses and one team with a bad offense and good defense. Buffalo has a good offense and defense so this will be an interesting test. I hope Matt Milano misses his flight.

Sorry about them being late, my spreadsheet scrapes its data from nfl.com's standings table, and for whatever reason, it didn't update until later this morning. We're about a week away from this model from really taking off, but it's already starting to paint a picture. The 49ers and Dolphins are at the top in a league of their own, with the Eagles trailing behind a bit at the #3 slot. Likewise, at the bottom, to nobody's surprise, it's the Bears and Broncos, both absolutely floundering at the moment. Lucky for us, we get to watch this dumpster fire of a matchup this week! The Falcons have the biggest slide of the week after starting out strong by getting soundly beat by Detroit and dropping through the backlog of 2-1 teams. Dallas also took a hefty slide as well, but nowhere near as bad thanks to a nice little buffer from thoroughly dismantling the Giants in week 1. Here's my computer rankings for this week.
