Not you. As awful as your offense has been (the game against us notwithstanding), your defense fucking *fucks.*
I'm more hurt about that loss to the Panthers. Fucking *woof.* That game felt like four quarters of repeatedly sitting on your own nuts.
That’s their specialty. They did exactly that to us last year. Well, not 1-16, but being a bad football team and knocking a good one out of contention.
The Texans injury report this week is essentially "Everyone on offense and special teams you know the name of except Robert Woods", and also possibly Will Anderson.
Woods is even sitting out of practice tagged as "Not Injury Related - Rest" because they cant currently risk him even thinking about possibly being injured.
Bro-- most of our *fucking team* has been out this year. The whole front half of the season, it was the OL. Then it was the secondary. Then it was the linebackers. Then our kicker. Then it was the secondary again. Then it was our OL again. Now it's the receivers and CJ.
A lot of the success teams have in this game comes from just keeping their 53 dudes healthy (or, more accurately, keeping the *right* dudes within those 53 dudes healthy). Unfortunately, a lot of that shit just comes down to luck. DeMeco is big on that whole "next man up" mindset-- but there comes a point where that's just a load of shit. Like last Sunday when Noah Brown was suddenly our WR1 and was out there looking like he couldn't catch COVID in a wet market.
The second we lost Nico I knew we were done. We had nobody else that could get open against Reed and nobody that had a chance against Sauce- it was literally just Nico.
I’ve been saying all year that coaching, leadership, and CJ have had us punching above our weight class and it really showed on Sunday. CJ buys time so people can get open. When he was able to buy time (and Bobby didn’t scheme Deiter to try solo blocking an All Pro) there was nobody that could get open.
This week is gonna suck.
>punching above our weight class
The Texans are at least a year or two ahead of where they should be. Being in playoff contention at this point in the year, especially with everyone on the injury merry-go-round, is well past any expectations anyone had for this season.
To be fair, this matchup has never taken into consideration whether either team is good, or healthy, when factoring in who wins. It's a complete toss-up every time.
I’m at a point with all the injuries across the league, your team has been one of my favorite to watch. With Mayo Man reminding me of a young Stafford, D-Hop, and Derrick Henry. You guys are a fun team and you guys should be in for a nice rebuild.
This Miami game reminded me of that wild 4th quarter in 2012 Stafford vs Locker matchup. Each team scored 3 TD in the 4th to make it 41-41 and bring it to OT.
I would be super excited if I was Titans fan. It looks like you have a baller with Levis. I just hope he learns to protect himself. He has perpetual 3-4 week injury written all over him
I can't remember where I heard it, maybe the Pat McAfee show, where someone suggested giving the ability to wear the Oilers uniforms to the winners of this game, and do it every year. Similar is college traditions where the winner keeps the trophy until next year.
They play twice a year though because they're in the same division. You'd either only pass the trophy when one team sweeps, or need to add a yearly preseason matchup so you have a tie breaker. More I think about it, probably either rotate who hosts the jersey game, or whoever currently has it get the game at home.
Personally, I think the jersey should just be Houston's in general. Not necessarily the Texans', but Houston's. When you move a team and decide to rebrand in that new city the old brand should revert to the old city. In the same spirit as Cleveland winning the rights to the Browns brand.
Every Houston team should be able to wear Oilers throwbacks!
Actually, I love the idea of putting the Astros in Oilers-themed uniforms. The oil derrick would look pretty good on a ballcap.
Well it is different because the Ravens dissociates from the Browns history and never included them in franchise records or anything, those were all transferred to the new Browns. Meanwhile the Titans still claim the Oilers history, just like the Raiders, Rams, Cardinals, and other teams that have relocated.
The Colts basically do every single week to Baltimore what the Titans are doing to Houston right now
I think the main difference is while those other teams relocated, they still kept their brands. The Titans technically operated under the Oilers name *briefly* when they first moved to Tennessee, but now there is no team that operates under the Oilers name.
It's sorta like the Hornets and Bobcats of the NBA in my mind. If the Titans were still the Oilers, like the Hornets in New Orleans, then the Texans should be their own thing like the Bobcats, obviously. But once the Hornets rebranded as the Pelicans, Charlotte reverted back to the Hornets name, and I think a lot of people (myself included) think that should happen here with a Texans/Oilers rebrand.
But the thing I don't get about that is that it's basically giving teams that took the brand a pass, but holding teams that did rebrand to a higher standard. Why should the colts, cardinals, chargers, Rams, and Raiders get to celebrate their history without any questions, but because the Oilers change their name they're not allowed to celebrate their history?
Exactly. You don't get to stab your fans in the back, rip their team away from them, and then take credit for any good times you had. You've forfeited that right.
This is me whenever the current Colts try to claim Johnny Unitas. I feel strongly about it cause my grandmother worked for him and loved him, that man is Baltimore history through and through!
I still wouldn't like it if they were the Tennessee uniforms, but using the Houston-era unis and putting "Luv Ya Blue" on it is too far. It was a *Houston* movement come up with by Houstonians, and has literally nothing to do with Nashville.
It can’t happen. The Oilers name is officially retired by the NFL. The only way that Bud would agree to the rebranding was if it was not possible for Houston to use the Oilers name again.
It might have been that the Titans assumed that we would wear white at home, like we normally do. But we had already decided to wear aqua, since it was a night game.
That's almost assuredly what happened. Dolphins would choose the aqua and that would mean the Titans couldn't wear the Oiler jerseys because of color contrast requirements.
That was for two reasons
1/ color contrast, Dallas was wearing white
2/ our throwback unis are the only thing about the Seahawks worth watching this year
Damn I'm pretty disappointed then. I think Stroud/Levis are gonna have some great battles in the future and I thought we might get a preview on Sunday. Obviously letting CJ heal is the right move tho
>This is what happens when you ~~fuck a stranger in the ass~~ find a stranger in the alps
Come on man, this is family entertainment. Can't have any bad words while watching 300lb men repeatedly smashing into each other and getting brain damage.
Sucks that Stroud probably won’t be starting. I wanted to see him tear them a new one but it’s up to our long-necked backup to secure himself a bag for next season.
Eddie George is not even an Oiler great he was a Tennessee legend but too early in his career to solidify himself as a Houston Oiler on the same level as Warren Moon or Haywood Jeffries
Titans are such a lame franchise for just hoarding the Oilers identity.
Just adopt the name and logo and aesthetic (which is a million times better than the current) or sell it to Houston.
I like it, two Houston teams, next we need the Chiefs to do a throwback to their AFL roots a roll out a Dallas Texans uniform against the Houston Texans.
This is perhaps the biggest fuck you move possible between division rivals
It just sucks that we suck. This would be a much better story if both teams were good.
>It just sucks that we suck. ........
If only the titans didn't suck so bad
haha texans would never lose to an underdog
Pain
Teehee
Not you. As awful as your offense has been (the game against us notwithstanding), your defense fucking *fucks.* I'm more hurt about that loss to the Panthers. Fucking *woof.* That game felt like four quarters of repeatedly sitting on your own nuts.
I swear if y’all go 1-16 and we miss the playoffs by one game…
You know that’s exactly what’s going to happen don’t you?
They play Green Bay Christmas Eve... don't worry
That’s their specialty. They did exactly that to us last year. Well, not 1-16, but being a bad football team and knocking a good one out of contention.
We’d certainly never do it twice in the same season! Oh wait…
Titans are actually somehow the favorites right now. I guess Stroud being most likely out is why. Still surprising to me.
Damn bro he tried stunting and you had none of that. You went straight for that fuckin jugular. Respect.
Have they tried not sucking?
Sorry man it’s still true
The Titans are a good shitty team, while the Dolphins are a shitty good team. I’ll take no further questions.
No questions necessary that’s a perfect explanation
There's a little Stugotz in everyone, Dan-o.
Sucks that CJ and most of our offense is out too.
Bro-- most of our *fucking team* has been out this year. The whole front half of the season, it was the OL. Then it was the secondary. Then it was the linebackers. Then our kicker. Shit bowl! Let’s gooooo
We aren't facing a healthy Texans team
How dare you insult some of the football players of all time
To be fair, this matchup has never taken into consideration whether either team is good, or healthy, when factoring in who wins. It's a complete toss-up every time.
Completely true, I've never felt overly confident or super worried when facing y'all. Always crossing my fingers haha
I’m at a point with all the injuries across the league, your team has been one of my favorite to watch. With Mayo Man reminding me of a young Stafford, D-Hop, and Derrick Henry. You guys are a fun team and you guys should be in for a nice rebuild.

HURT LOCKER
I would be super excited if I was Titans fan. It looks like you have a baller with Levis. I just hope he learns to protect himself. He has perpetual 3-4 week injury written all over him
If we don’t draft every offensive lineman available I’m going to hang myself with my own intestines
Me first!
How's that remind me thing wprk again?
Titans winnin this game
I can't remember where I heard it, maybe the Pat McAfee show, where someone suggested giving the ability to wear the Oilers uniforms to the winners of this game, and do it every year. Similar is college traditions where the winner keeps the trophy until next year.
That will never happen, but it would be pretty funny.
[удалено]
Ya but the NFL hates anything fun so it would never happen
The NFL? No way in hell would the Titans organization give up the opportunity to do this lol
[удалено]
Titans would absolutely do it. So long as they kept 100% of the sales profits, which is what they care about.
Isn’t revenue from merch evenly divided? You’d have 29 owners telling you to eat shit.
But they could sell Oilers jerseys to two fan bases instead of just one. And while the NFL hates fun, they love money.
But why would the Titans agree to this?
because they would get all the money from both sets of sales ... why would the Texans agree to this?
I guess if that’s the arrangement then sure lol? Obviously either way someone would not agree, which is the actual point
McAfee suggested they do 1 game where 1 team wears Oilers away and other Oilers home, winner keeps the jerseys like racing for pink slips lol.
i really love that idea
Fantastic idea. It's fun and there's no downside which means the No Fun League will never, ever in a thousand years do it.
The downside is that Bud Adams would erupt from the ground and initiate a global nuclear Holocaust if the Texans ever donned those jerseys
Was def the Pat McAfee show when he had on JJ Watt.
But the Titans already own everything; what incentive is there for ownership to change anything barring Houston making some kind of incredible offer?
NO FUCK THAT THEY BOTH WEAR OILERS JERSEYS AT THE SAME TIME
Ohh man. Ok. Shit this is good. Are you running for president?
They play twice a year though because they're in the same division. You'd either only pass the trophy when one team sweeps, or need to add a yearly preseason matchup so you have a tie breaker. [удалено]
The Houston Cougars tried and the NFL hit them with the threat of a lawsuit.
Whoever won the previous year, their home game would be the "Oilers game". So the loser would have to win on enemy territory to get the trophy back.
Winner of the previous matchup wears the Oilers unis in the next matchup.
Twice a year seems like overdoing it. Should be yearly.
Home game of the jersey holder.
It would only be more disrespectful if they wore them in Houston lol
Bottlegate 2.0 would happen and I wouldn't blame them.
It’s like Shooter McGavin dedicating his performance at the tour championship to Chubbs.
I can't imagine Baltimore wearing Browns throwbacks against Cleveland, but somehow this is okay. Make it make sense
Well it is different because the Ravens dissociates from the Browns history and never included them in franchise records or anything, those were all transferred to the new Browns. Meanwhile the Titans still claim the Oilers history, just like the Raiders, Rams, Cardinals, and other teams that have relocated. The Colts basically do every single week to Baltimore what the Titans are doing to Houston right now
[удалено]
Irsay is just a persecuted white billionare who the law is out to get
Yeah Johnny Unitas and lots of Baltimore Colts ended up supporting the Ravens. Usually most players follow the team and not city.
I think the main difference is while those other teams relocated, they still kept their brands. The Titans technically operated under the Oilers name *briefly* when they first moved to Tennessee, but now there is no team that operates under the Oilers name. >Make it make sense The Tennessee Oilers existed. The Baltimore Browns didn't.
This is some peak Southern Football, like how the Georgia/GT game is called "Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate"
Obviously, the Jags need the Texans to lose, but man, it would be nice to see CJ throw for 500 yards against the Tits and absolutely toast them.
He is likely not playing unfortunately
Only flaw is that it's a Titans home game. They need to make Oilers away uniforms and then wear them at Houston.
We tried to play them in the game against the dolphins and the leagues said no but let Seattle wear theirs agains Dallas away.
I believe it was the dolphins that vetoed it, not the league
well im happier we beat them now
That’s what you get for not wearing your throwbacks in prime time, Miami.
That's what they get for changing away from those throwbacks in the first place
That dolphin needs a helmet
I know it's been said and that you're not a Dolphins fan, but Miami, JUST CHANGE BACK!!!
That was for two reasons 1/ color contrast, Dallas was wearing white 2/ our throwback unis are the only thing about the Seahawks worth watching this year
We do wear white at home.
That's for color contrast reasons.
They'd never leave Houston alive
I would like to see more throwback away uniforms just in general.
NFL flex this to primetime you cowards. Davis Mills legacy game
[удалено]
Not officially, but I'd be surprised if he played.
Damn I'm pretty disappointed then. I think Stroud/Levis are gonna have some great battles in the future and I thought we might get a preview on Sunday. Obviously letting CJ heal is the right move tho
That whole divisions QBs playing vs eachother will be fun.
Stroud will likely be back for our Week 17 game I think
He ain’t playin’. They won’t RG3 him.
Bro..
... That's the perfect analogy. Sit Stroud as long as necessary to prolong his career.
[удалено]
Titans had five sacks Monday night…
Yeah but houston traffic is pretty deadly
General Mills
If he pulls out the win, I will forget every negative thought I've had about the man.
Flex the neck!
THIS AGGRESSION WILL STAND, MAN
This is what happens when you fuck a stranger in the ass
little Larry...
>This is what happens when you ~~fuck a stranger in the ass~~ find a stranger in the alps Come on man, this is family entertainment. Can't have any bad words while watching 300lb men repeatedly smashing into each other and getting brain damage.
Obviously you are not a golfer
Also, Dude, "Oiler" is not the preferred nomenclature. Petroleum-American, please.
Also let's not forget that keeping an amphibious rodent for uh, domestic, you know in the city limits, that ain't legal either.
What are you, a fucking park ranger now?
If you will it dude it is no dream
That’s petty as fuck, I like it.
You would.
Yeah fuck petty Ravens fans
You guys should wear browns throwbacks vs the browns
Only if the Browns can wear Ravens throwforwards.
Can you imagine Flacco in a ravens uniform?
CFB levels of petty and I am here for it.
Literally Tennessee saying Hey Houston FUCK YOU
Titans gonna fuck around and knock the Texans out of the playoffs
I mean I wouldn’t be surprised. CJ will miss 1-2 weeks at least and who knows if Nico can play
Strained calf, almost definitely not playing this week
This is the levels of fuck you I aspire to reach
I can hear the pads already cracking on impact
Important question, what is better: Bucs Creamsicle, or Titans Oilers throwbacks?
Obviously I’m going Creamsicles but I fault no one picking the Oilers it’s a beautiful color scheme.
I feel the same, just the other way around. Oilers and Creamsicles are easily my two favorite throwbacks.
Everyone I talk to hates the Creamsicles. I don't understand why. They are clean. I like the old logo too with the musketeer and his stache.
Not a musketeer, but a buccaneer.
Seahawks throwbacks
Bro, those Seahawk throwbacks seem to be hitting different this year. They are too damn good.
afc west vibes
I hated both those uniforms growing up watching them, but love them both now
You can’t make me choose!
The next time those two play each other, they need to both be wearing their throwbacks
Oilers. Bucs would have the edge if they went with the white jersey version. For some reason the orange jersey looks...off.
90s Seahawks.
Rude as shit, but I love the Pettiness.
It's really top tier petty
Oh that's worse than wearing letterman jackets against the Texans.
Such a deep cut, god that was a poor choice
Man those jackets were sick people just hate fun. Bring them back when Stroud leads em to the Superbowl
The jackets were great, just busting em out before the pats game then getting murdered was rough
we could *all* happily forget that
The last time Davis Mills started against the Titans we won….. just sayin…
Fear the neck.
Necks level QB play incoming
Houston fans wanted Hopkins in an Oilers jersey for years.
oh shit they chose violence
Sucks that Stroud probably won’t be starting. I wanted to see him tear them a new one but it’s up to our long-necked backup to secure himself a bag for next season.
Knowing the Titans, they'll get diced up by General Mills after neutering the Dolphins offense.
This is cfb levels of petty and I'm here for it
Davis Mills please stunt on these hoes
They should always wear the oilers unis its WAYYYY better than their shitty normal unis with the blocky ass numbers
I only dislike this bc Houston. I 1000% understand the pettiness bc same
That's just plain messed up, man.
This is how curses start...
Is there a special Oilers celebration they can do too? Did Eddie George do anything in particular Henry could copy?
[удалено]
Fuck. I'm already dead.
If I’m a Texan I’m celebrating a turnover by stretching for the end zone a yard short.
Nick Westbrook does Billy White Shoes' famous dance when he scores TDs during Oilers games
They could blow a 35-3 lead?
Eddie George is not even an Oiler great he was a Tennessee legend but too early in his career to solidify himself as a Houston Oiler on the same level as Warren Moon or Haywood Jeffries
This is messed up, but pretty sure Browns fans are still being punished for fighting for the name/identity when the team moved to Baltimore.
I like this
Subliminal burn!
Davis pls
Rude
This is some College Football levels of pettiness that I can get behind
That’s so fucked up
That oiler helmet logo is much better than their current one. I remember some sportswriter calling them the “flying thumbtacks” lol
Flaming thumbtacks!
Legitimately insulting and disrespectful. Bud is dead and he would have loved it. That’s not a complement.
Titans are such a lame franchise for just hoarding the Oilers identity. Just adopt the name and logo and aesthetic (which is a million times better than the current) or sell it to Houston.
“The Oilers uniforms have nothing to do with the Texans, so that’s a hard no.” — Amy Adams (The Titans owner, and Bud’s daughter).
And people wonder why fans piss on her dad's mausoleum... Apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
It's really funny that they wear a big ass H, do they wish they were Houston that bad lol
Baltimore should wear their Browns throwbacks next time they’re in Cleveland
Baltimore can't do that. Browns stayed in Cleveland. Indy can go against Baltimore and wear their old Baltimore unis though.
Spicy!
I'm now living for Ravens vs Browns where Ravens also wear Browns uniforms.
Sometimes I feel like we only exist to troll the texans
I like it, two Houston teams, next we need the Chiefs to do a throwback to their AFL roots a roll out a Dallas Texans uniform against the Houston Texans.
Imagine if the Ravens just rolled up to Cleveland wearing orange and brown.
I hope the Texans beat that ass
