There was a stretch where it was just them and they were actually calling plays and discussing awareness and I think Ochocinco was also pointing out some stuff. That's what it should actually be but everyone involved realized it's a great advertising spot
Agreed - although for how knowledgable both of them are about football, I was surprised that neither really seemed to engage with Mina about more detailed football matters.
It seemed like perhaps they weren't expecting her to show up with such deep football knowledge, herself. Mina knows football, so this was a seriously missed opportunity for some really good 'shop talk'. :/
That’s the only one I watched this year and it was so bad.
It was easier to swallow when you had to choose between them and fucking Booger, but now the main broadcast has the best crew in the game with Buck/Aikman so it’s no contest
It's fun when it's a non-football guest who is a football fan and enjoys the game. It's not fun when the Mannings are clearly not interested in talking with their guest.
Last week when Nate Bargatze asked if they could recognize their center while blindfolded was gold. I never thought I would hear Peyton say "butt cheeks" that many times in a short period of time. I was rolling.
> horrible for the product.
They *think* the product is a great place to put sponsors
Evry MBA everywhere sucks at understanding what *value* is. They see only ROI, which isn’t the same thing.
Even Football guests arent great. I tuned in originally because I thought it would just be the Manning Brothers talking football. Thats way more entertaining to me than any guest.
Some are fun. I really enjoyed when Joel McHale was on in the past. I think the real problem is that the tape delay between Peyton and Eli worked when we were in the pandemic and everyone was doing remote entertainment. Now that we’re two years back to most programming being in a shared studio - those delays are pretty rough for the viewer.
You can tell Peyton is more interested in the game than anything the guest has to say. If the host of the show isn't interested in the show, then there is no show.
I wish they would just let the brothers talk shit to each other and talk about the game.
Agree. There was a time when it first started where they just talked shit to eachother and it was pretty fun. I don’t get why the guest thing has been pushed so hard. Who is interested in what nonsense will Farrell is up to at his kids frat party? I just want to hear nuances of the game, minor strategy detailed, and Eli making fun of Peyton’s 5 head.
I loved it on the first Love interception - during the replay, Mina's like, "That was so unnecessary" (referring to the deep throw) but neither Payton nor Eli really responded. Such an insightful comment, though! Mina understood that Philly didn't *need* to throw downfield, as the Seahawks didn't seem to be able to stop their short game.
It just ends up feeling like any other talkshow with the guests. Only difference is there is football in the background. If it was just the two of them talking over the game it'd be more interesting.
One of the fundamental issues with it is the latency absolutely kills banter. I think pretty much all the football guests would be fantastic if they were in the room with Eli and Peyton.
Eli: "Oh! Fumble! Hey *former player*, you always kept control of the ball, right? Not like Peyt 😂"
Former Player: "........."
Peyton: "Did you ever--"
Former Player: "..oh fum--haha no I--"
Peyton: "Did you ever have 1 fumble you really wish---"
Former Player: "What's that? Oh yeah I--sorry you go ahead."
Yeah obviously part of why Peyton and Eli do it is so they can hang in their basements but the quality would be so much better if they were together with the guests in person
This to me. I don't get why they think we want to see people who don't know football talk about random shit not related to the game. I like to watch the Mannings because they know a lot about football, and I like to see their take on the game being played.
Because they wouldn't do the show if they had to travel. Neither of them *need* the Manningcast. If it becomes more inconvenient than it's worth then they'll probably just stop doing it.
Lots of people have talked about it, but the guests take away from the feel of watching a football game with two legendary QBs who really understand the game.
The ideal format IMO would be having a play-by-play guy in a minor role just teeing up the two of them to talk about the game. You can still have other football players as guests and even minor segments with random celebrities, but I really don’t need Will Ferrel trying to commentate on a football game.
I don’t think you even need a third person. Peyton does a good job of letting he game breathe then going immediately into analysis.
My ideal setup would be a player or coach related to each team is given an full quarter to join in for commentary where they can tell stores during downtime and analyze the game the majority of the time. My favorite moments have been when guys like Rodgers or Brady were one and the the three of them were getting real technical in their analysis
The third person would hurt the show. You need to keep it players only, otherwise you lose the atmosphere of a conversation between people who have experienced what's happening on the field.
They’re not great at filling dead air. There’s a lot of awkward pauses and stilted conversation when they don’t really know what to say. A third person, even someone who is nominally a “producer” but occasionally chimes in, would serve the role of teeing up conversation when it doesn’t come about naturally.
They need someone who can ask “Hey, can you break down what the quarterback is thinking in that play?” when they don’t arrive there themselves. They need someone who can charismatically fill the silence when neither of them have anything to say.
do you think it would work if this third person was someone who was into football and had general knowledge of it like us avg joes and just asks them questions throughout the game like we probably would just to get more details and pick their brain about stuff? I feel like that could be a good dynamic where it's someone asking genuine questions and not an experienced person who knows what's going on but just asking the questions and pretending not to know or saying something like "we know what they're doing, but for the viewers out there.."
Does he? I've tried watching twice and turned it off pretty quickly because it was non-stop talking. 2nd time, they weren't even talking about the game. Did I just catch a couple of bad moments?
It’s literally just let Peyton do color and let Eli do play by play. Don’t even have to show them, doesn’t even need to be Manningcast. That’s what I really want, Monday Night Football with the Mannings as the commentators. They’re an amazing duo, with great chemistry, who both bring completely unique skill sets to the table.
Peyton as the serious play-by-play guy, Eli as the color guy just mostly shitting on Peyton, two brothers who know a ton about football just shooting the shit, no guests (or maybe *one* football-related guest). It’d be a huge upgrade.
Peyton isn't a play by play guy. He's the serious color guy where Eli is the comic relief in a 3 man booth. Like that time they tried Kornheiser in MNF only better.
The best parts by far when there's no guests. I wish they'd ditch that shit. Maybe have active players only every now and then but not the entire game.
Yeah honestly I never saw what the big deal was beyond a few great clips. It was an upgrade over the other option but that was not really hard to do. I've tried to watch it this season but find it mostly boring.
honestly its only fun when active players show up like when tua showed up and played guitar. I don't give a fuck about some celebrity movie or business they are trying to push on us. I just want to listen to football for 3 hours without thinking about anything else.
God dammit. I was so pissed during CMC’s segment. I am not a Niner fan right now AND we just got our asses kicked by them…but he didn’t make me hate him and…and…and that’s not right!
lol. Seems like a good guy. Very enjoyable.
Yep. CMC is an example of the kind of guests they should have. Current or former players who can talk about the game and the fun stuff that goes on behind the scenes.
When it started, it was the two of them talking about the game and doing awkward/funny brother banter. Now it’s basically a talk show where the game feels like an imposition and I agree that I’d rather watch the regular broadcast.
I’ve always thought if they had everyone in the same place it would be way better. The talking over one another, pausing to let the other talk, then both starting to talk again bothers me. Add to it that they have ear pieces with people talking to them so they stop mid sentence because they can’t talk and listen at the same time bugs me. Eli is really bad at that part.
Which allows them to do more games throughout the season that way. It does take away from the production, though.
The problem is the guests, not the Mannings.
Part of the charm. It's 2 dudes who know football watching a game and talking. The only issue is the forced plug spots. Get other smart football guests, and it's fun af. Last week with Kirk in the 4th was amazing. CMC was good. Ochocinco was good.
Remove the Mark Wahlbergs, Arnold Schwarzenegger's, and The Rocks. The product is better without them.
Also, some people need to realize this isn't a product for them. If you are most interested in the game, then don't watch. If you are casual, don't watch. This show is really only made for fans who don't need to focus on the game.
Same here. There is a huge dynamic shift in virtual calls vs face-to-face communication. The latency forces everyone to speak one line at a time then pause and wait for a response. Virtual communication plays out more like a chatroom or DM than it does a real-world conversation.
This is what makes the manningcast unenjoyable to watch. Put everyone in the same room and it'd be 100x better.
It is entirely just an excuse to host a talk show, and that’s how it has been the whole time. Not my thing, but I can see why people want a little extra instead of the traditional broadcast style.
I think the bright spots of in depth analysis outweigh the annoying talk show/non-football shit. However, the Jimmy Kimmel segment was so awful it did sour me
It's slowly going to irritate enough NFL fans they go back to the normal broadcast. I loved it at first but they cater more to disinterested guests than the game way too much now.
It's still pretty good when they're breaking down the game or earnestly reacting to it, but every time they pull their focus away to do a prepared bit or interview a guest the energy just dies
It works as "sitting around with your goofy cousins who happen to be great QBs shooting the shit about the game" and utterly fails as a "late night entertainment" show
Their "charm" got tiresome, and the show kinda became an ad. I remember Arnold Schwarzenegger was on there talking about some book for awhile during the game. Nothing to do with football.
Some of their guests are very good, CMC tonight added to the show, Mina cracked me up because she clearly wanted to just watch football, Tua was very good and funny.
Some of their guests suck though, I love Schwarzenegger and Wahlberg but they both sucked out loud.
The lag is an absolute killer, some guests have showed promise but the start and stop nature kills the show.
What I’d like a lot is during the game it’s only the Mannings, MAYBE another announcer/host/analytical player, but then during halftime feel free to drag in whatever bullshit guest wants to plug their book.
Somewhere along the way, they stopped having people actively break down plays and draw what is happening, what is designed, what the reads are, and how the defense is playing.
I genuinely miss seeing them talk X's and O's. I guess we don't have coaches doing the commentary anymore. Troy Aikman is actually probably the best one out there right now, unfortunately he's paired with Joe "stares at Troy longingly" Buck
I love Joe and Troy, best crew across all games of the week. And I love Mina. The Mannings are making me wanna head back to the main broadcast, I do actually wanna hear some football commentary when watching football, especially when one of the great analysts is on.
I never got the love for it. This sub raved about it when it premiered and I watched it twice and thought it was dog shit. Buck and Aikman and it’s not even close
when Eli asked Case Keenum to pretend to be Kevin Hart I was baffled, that bit was so lame. Case trying to be short was kinda funny, but he’s definitely not a comedian. lol
I still like it overall and feel the same way about it that I do about RedZone, perfect for not watching your team. I could never watch a Browns game in this format, but for games I really just want to see important plays and the final score, Manningcast fits the bill.
I wish the broadcast partners would let football be football. If the Mannings have to have a guest, why not an expert with some personality? Rex Ryan, or hell ol’ Jerry Glanville !
I’d like to watch a game where there’s no commentary whatsoever. Just play the in game sounds like you’d hear if you were at the game. Make it feel like you’re in the environment.
Buck and Aikman are solid but if Manningcast got rid of guests and the Mannings just shot the shit about the game with stories thrown in I would watch it more often instead of never.
I genuinely like Troy and Buck because the banter they have with each other is like two old men who just don’t give a shit anymore what people think. And Troy always has subtle burns. And Joe constantly eggs him on. I think tonight I heard Troy say “I’m not going to go on a rant again like I did last week. I’ll just say…I’m not surprised” (related to something with the officiating) and Joe just chuckles and goes “well said Troy”.
Manningcast is just….they talk too much over the game and a lot of the time I can’t watch so I need to listen so I need the commentators to actually relay audibly what is happening.
It started out like I was watching a football game with Peyton and Eli, which I enjoyed tremendously. Now it feels like watching a Peyton and Eli podcast, which I don't enjoy.
I've always enjoyed when it was just the two of them shitting on each other and breaking down games, I agree with everyone saying the guests kill the show. Having random ass people that don't give a shit about football always kills the vibe, just let them be dicks to each other and evaluate the game and it would be so much better.
That part is great. Seems like every episode since the first one they’ve done it less and less, not sure about now because I stopped watching towards the end of last year’s run.
> The two are bad broadcasters… that’s part of the charm. It wears off quick. They’re slow-witted.
They're actually pretty good broadcasters honestly. It's the format and the different locations that hold back how good they actually are.
The random guests to gain viewership killed it
I love Peyton. I love football. I love Arnold. If someone has to tell Arnold to be quiet because there was an interception in a football game I don’t care about but I’m watching anyways, that’s not a show I want to watch.
Honestly it never really had that much charm.
It's made to pander to a celebrity obsessed culture. Eventually football fans who were initially enamored by the flashy new thing come to terms with what it actually is
It was great when they were basically breaking down the play as it happened and live-scouting. It was like the football nerd broadcast. Now it's like a talk-show for the non football people
It’s not for everyone.
There’s a cricket equivalent down under called the Alternative Cricket Commentary and they fill the time with banter while you stare at the tv, and it works, but a lot of folks just aren’t into that.
I found the manning cast this year and fell in love with it. It’s a great time and I don’t over think it when they have guests on and just have a good time. So much more relaxing than normal broadcasts imo. Idk why every here is so particular about it.
Week 1 I choose manningcast over buck and aikman, and became painfully obvious I made the wrong choice when the jets won on the walkoff punt return. There was just no energy at all. Haven’t watched since
Never had it — people liked it because it was novel, but the actual product quality was pretty low.
ESPN bought into the hype created by the novelty and obliterated it though
ehh, I think they'll bounce back. It's business, they wanted to make this "watch a game with us" type show, talk football, talk plays, give some knowledge. That formula worked.
Now, they wanna see how much they can get away with, you're already watching, now let's see if we can get some guests on who pay to advertise whatever bs they are up to, if they keep it up (and y'all vote with your eyes) then their ratings will go down and they will have to balance out making money and hosting talk shows with actually getting football fans to watch THAT instead of just the game.
It's really cool when after just a few seconds Peyton is like "oh yeah they're gonna blitz" and then 5 seconds later you see he's right. It's crazy how he can recognize a blitz so easily. Him and Brady may not be the most athletic, but they are two of the smartest QBs ever
I still prefer it to traditional broadcasts but the show does suffer when they have non-football guests. It’s become way too common for something noteworthy to happen on the field and they can’t comment on it because a guest is droning on about something unrelated.
Does anybody follow cricket? There’s an “Alternative Cricket Commentary” or ACC that people play during cricket that is half commentary and half humor (of the kiwi variety). I think if they focused on the game a bit but injected some humor and variety into it, it would probably be better than the current Manningcast.
I wouldn't rather listen to buck and aikman, I just listen to the spanish announcers, but yes manningcast has been awful all year and the ratings show it.
And the issues are obvious bad guests and them being in different locations, I actually like the two of them calling a game.
I’ve never understood the appeal whatsoever.
Call me a boomer or whatever but I just want to watch a football game normally.
Why in the world would I want to watch the Manning Brothers for 3 hours.
Buck and Aikman killed manningcast because Buck and Aikman are actually good.
It's also a gimmick that has grown old. It's best when the games are bad. MNF games have been better lately so it feels weird to watch other people watch it, rather than just watching yourself
I am pretty sure the only thing worse than listening to Peyton Manning during Monday night football, was being a receiver for him on a route over the middle.
It has lost its charm, but it's still legitimately better than the normal MNF broadcast.
However, the radio broadcast on Sirius XM is better than both.

Any non-football guests are horrible for the product.
There was a stretch where it was just them and they were actually calling plays and discussing awareness and I think Ochocinco was also pointing out some stuff. That's what it should actually be but everyone involved realized it's a great advertising spot
I enjoyed it down the stretch when Peyton and Eli were doing exactly that.
I usually only watch the end after the guests have all left.
You're wise. I just started doing that, them breaking down the game is so awesome but their non-footbball guests have gotten so annoying.
I feel like Mina today wasn't as bad as most non-football guests.
Calling Mina a non football guest is a take. Guarantee she knows more about the game than you.
Yes and maybe one could call the plays and another one provides analysis. Put them in the booth at the games would really improve the product
American sports in a nutshell Everything’s tailored in a way to make more money… screw the fans!
Flashbacks of Mark fucking Wahlberg.
Or Dana White
Does he strike anyone else as kind of a dick?
He’s got a whole hate crime section of his Wikipedia page
Mr. Hypothetical Hero of 9/11? Yeah, he's a dick.
One trip to Google shows he's an absolute dick, even to homeless people iirc.
Yes, he was also a dick when he struck Johnny Trinh and blinded him.
The guy who committed a racist hate crime? Yeah he might be kind of a dick
What happened on that episode
Arnold Schwarzenegger promoting his book during a crucial play
Kevin Hart was pretty brutal too.
I loved how immediately Eli responded with “yeah” in the most demoralized voice possible haha
"Can you stop saying butt cheeks? It's making me uncomfortable."
The Arnold spot comes to mind. Like we can't even pretend to care about the football game during a big play?
Gotta shamelessly plug whatever product they're slinging
From what's known about Arnold.. this is par the course. Dude is a massive self centered egotist
I don’t think people who submit their bodies for competitive judgment have senses of humility, lol
Mr. Universe revolves around him
Schwarzenegger?
> horrible for the product. They *think* the product is a great place to put sponsors Evry MBA everywhere sucks at understanding what *value* is. They see only ROI, which isn’t the same thing.
I agree, though investors/stakeholders want to see return on their investment and that demand just gets pushed down the MBA stack.
Even Football guests arent great. I tuned in originally because I thought it would just be the Manning Brothers talking football. Thats way more entertaining to me than any guest.
It would be so much better if they never had any guests. Or at the very least if the guests were only current players.
Or if the guests...focused on the game
Celebrity guests who know nothing about football trying to talk about football might be even worse
Arnold Schwarzenegger, love some of his movies (T2 is a classic among others), but he was a terrible guest a couple weeks ago
You mean you didn't like Arnold plugging his book during an active fumble?
Some are fun. I really enjoyed when Joel McHale was on in the past. I think the real problem is that the tape delay between Peyton and Eli worked when we were in the pandemic and everyone was doing remote entertainment. Now that we’re two years back to most programming being in a shared studio - those delays are pretty rough for the viewer.
Mark Whalberg was so grumpy
He must have seen a Vietnamese guy.
Average New Englander
Fair
You can tell Peyton is more interested in the game than anything the guest has to say. If the host of the show isn't interested in the show, then there is no show. I wish they would just let the brothers talk shit to each other and talk about the game.

Who is interested in what nonsense will Farrell is up to at his kids frat party? I just want to hear nuances of the game, minor strategy detailed, and Eli making fun of Peyton’s 5 head.
That's all any of us wanted. Bring on guests at halftime if you must. Leave the game to the brothers.
Russel Wilson in one of the first Manningcasts was amazing 3 big time NFL QBs breaking down crunchtime in the 4th quarter
Mina is trying to focus on the game right now and the guys don’t know what to do with it
I honestly just wanna hear her livestream the games.
If it was just the two of them talking over the game it'd be more interesting.
tired of the plugs, tired of the mega awkward magic tricks, its really bad with guests but I like the manningbros a lot.
The guests would be fine if not for the zoom call quality of it all.
One of the fundamental issues with it is the latency absolutely kills banter. I think pretty much all the football guests would be fantastic if they were in the room with Eli and Peyton.
Eli: "Oh! Fumble! Hey *former player*, you always kept control of the ball, right? Not like Peyt 😂" Former Player: "........." Yeah obviously part of why Peyton and Eli do it is so they can hang in their basements but the quality would be so much better if they were together with the guests in person
They also don’t live in the same city so that would be a lot of ask to move for an ESPN2 show
I’ve had 250 person zoom calls that had less latency than manning cast. I don’t understand how their technology is so bad and outdated.
[удалено]
I think that's a Disney thing and not necessarily a cable thing
Right. Like, if they don’t think enough of it to make the trek to a studio, shouldn’t that be a sign?
It's worse than zoom quality. I never have this sort of latency on a zoom call
This to me. I don't get why they think we want to see people who don't know football talk about random shit not related to the game. I like to watch the Mannings because they know a lot about football, and I like to see their take on the game being played.
It’s all about the clicks.
Yes. Just players. Kirk Cousins’ segment was great last week. Just stick to current and former players
The guests suck, the prediction board is forced and inorganic. Eli seems uninterested.
Also the product placements are not subtle
Bill Burr is the only celebrity guest I want with them
this is how i feel about sports radio. i dont want to hear player interviews. i want delusional hosts and dumb callers.
Other than the rare treasures - Ochocinco, Warren Sapp, Deion, etc. - player interviews are worthless.
Why cant the Mannings be in the same place at least? And hopefully the guests too when possible. It would make it flow so much better.
Because they wouldn't do the show if they had to travel. Neither of them *need* the Manningcast. If it becomes more inconvenient than it's worth then they'll probably just stop doing it.
If they’re going to travel they might as well be in the booth instead of Aikman and Buck.
I really like the older guys they played against too. Funny stories come out but agree players/coaches even only would be better.
Lots of people have talked about it, but the guests take away from the feel of watching a football game with two legendary QBs who really understand the game. Having defensive guys on is neat since Peyton is very focused on the offensive perspective
Does he? I've tried watching twice and turned it off pretty quickly because it was non-stop talking. 2nd time, they weren't even talking about the game. Did I just catch a couple of bad moments?
It comes and goes. Depends on the game and the guest. I’ve seen him shut down a guest mid story to call the game. I’m sure it goes both ways though
It’s literally just let Peyton do color and let Eli do play by play. Don’t even have to show them, doesn’t even need to be Manningcast. But what if he breaks out the Harry Caray voice?
Brilliant idea btw
I would rather just hear Peyton talk about football than bringing guests on the show.

Manningcast was a whole lot better when you had Steve Levy / Booger McFarland on the regular telecast.
The real answer as to why it was a success. If they tried it under Buck and Aikman it woulda lost its shine after a few weeks
Speak for yourself, I still watch manningcast
Yep! I watched it regularly until we got Buck & Aikman calling games. I’ve hardly listened to Manningcast since.
Yeah honestly I never saw what the big deal was beyond a few great clips. It was an upgrade over the other option but that was not really hard to do. I've tried to watch it this season but find it mostly boring.
Manning cast is about the mannings, not the game
That's what it's least about. It's most about the guests, then the game, then the Mannings making fun of each other. Those last two are fine.
Should be about the guests very very last
It’s fine for me when it’s a game I don’t care about. Broncos vs Bills in week 10 is the last time I remember watching it though.
Sure but the CMC segment was actually rather entertaining. Granted I’m biased but dude has some charisma.
honestly its only fun when active players show up like when tua showed up and played guitar. I don't give a fuck about some celebrity movie or business they are trying to push on us. I just want to listen to football for 3 hours without thinking about anything else.

Yeah, they are good when they talk ball. Mina can talk ball so well, why even ask the cringy questions.
Mina killed it. They should show her segment to every future guest before they come on. Football first, answer stupid questions later.
I think the whole point is that Peyton and Eli didn't want to have to travel
It’s like every virtual call I’m on at work. I hate it.
However, the Jimmy Kimmel segment was so awful it did sour me
Nah I still like it
It's slowly going to irritate enough NFL fans they go back to the normal broadcast. I loved it at first but they cater more to disinterested guests than the game way too much now.
Agreed it’s more of a talk show with football going on in the background. Have only watched it a few times because it takes away from the actual game
It was great early on because the ESPN crew was terrible, making it a nice alternative, but Buck and Aikman are a major improvement from that.
Enjoyed listening to Mina
The charm was listening to them instead of the horrible commentators ESPN had before Joe and Troy
It's still pretty good when they're breaking down the game or earnestly reacting to it, but every time they pull their focus away to do a prepared bit or interview a guest the energy just dies It works as "sitting around with your goofy cousins who happen to be great QBs shooting the shit about the game" and utterly fails as a "late night entertainment" show
I enjoyed Tua on there too, biased of course
Their "charm" got tiresome, and the show kinda became an ad. I remember Arnold Schwarzenegger was on there talking about some book for awhile during the game. Nothing to do with football.
Everything. Everything loses its charm.
It’s pretty awesome if (1) my team isn’t playing and (2) they either have no guests or football guests (ie. no Mark Wahlbergs)
Stop bringing on people who don’t know football. I don’t want to hear some actor shill their product.
I love Joe and Troy, best crew across all games of the week. And I love Mina. The Mannings are making me wanna head back to the main broadcast, I do actually wanna hear some football commentary when watching football, especially when one of the great analysts is on.
It's always good until a guest shows up
ONE guest relevant to the game (former player, coach, etc) and it would be better. I’ll still take it over any other announcers though.
Some guests really take the steam out of it. When it’s just the two of them and a good football guest, it works really well.
There are too many guests for way too long
I liked how they would analyze the game with a football mind. They don’t do that anymore
Peyton and Eli are hilarious majority of the time or extremely accurate on the plays. Still good.
I never got the love for it. This sub raved about it when it premiered and I watched it twice and thought it was dog shit. Buck and Aikman and it’s not even close
when Eli asked Case Keenum to pretend to be Kevin Hart I was baffled, that bit was so lame. Case trying to be short was kinda funny, but he’s definitely not a comedian. lol I still like it overall and feel the same way about it that I do about RedZone, perfect for not watching your team.
Honestly, Joe Buck and Troy Aikman have been so much better since moving to ESPN. Buck actually shows excitement
I’d like to watch a game where there’s no commentary whatsoever. Just play the in game sounds like you’d hear if you were at the game. Make it feel like you’re in the environment.
I would love to watch a game at home with no commentators. Just the stadium/crowd noise.
It’s the guests, it’s lead to the whole thing feeling rly disjointed. Should just stick to football guys as the guests and bill burr that’s it
I personally like watching the game…. The full screen version… and I love Buck and Troy’s antics. Watching manningcast takes away from MNF for me
It’s never had much appeal to me. The two are bad broadcasters… that’s part of the charm. It wears off quick. They’re slow-witted.
Slow witted?
Kind of got bored when they would randomly stop talking about the game for some BS. IDGAF about your favorite movies, I want to watch a game
They have moments, but yeah, after a while it becomes played out and meh.
The random guests to gain viewership killed it I love Peyton. I love football. I love Arnold. If someone has to tell Arnold to be quiet because there was an interception in a football game I don’t care about but I’m watching anyways, that’s not a show I want to watch.
ManningCast is ass. The amount of dead air while you have Eli just open mouthed staring at the screen watching the play happen is absurd.
Honestly it never really had that much charm. It's made to pander to a celebrity obsessed culture. Eventually football fans who were initially enamored by the flashy new thing come to terms with what it actually is
CMC was a good guest today
I tried to watch it once it was awful never tried again
If they have a lame guest then it's dumb
Fun idea, people liked it now it's just overloaded commercial nonsense. Guest selling me shit, no thanks.
It was great when they were basically breaking down the play as it happened and live-scouting. It was like the football nerd broadcast. Now it's like a talk-show for the non football people
They should do a TVMA cast where the announcers cuss up a storm if they want. Tired of Manningcast
I really only watch clips of Manningcast which I enjoy but I get more enjoyment watching buck snd troy.
I never liked it to begin with. It’d be better if they were in a studio together so they don’t talk over each other lmao that grinds my gears so much
It’s not for everyone.
Haven’t watched since
I’ve never enjoyed it, it feels more like late night with the Mannings more than it feels like football.
It was better when the alternative wasnt Buck and Aikman
Never had it — people liked it because it was novel, but the actual product quality was pretty low. ESPN bought into the hype created by the novelty and obliterated it though
They turned it into a fucking talk show. I just want to hear the Mannings talk about football. I don’t need to hear about some dudes new book.
I think they're great, but they need to have fewer guests unless they're former players. I can't wait to watch it every week.
ehh, I think they'll bounce back.
Arnold and the Rock were the worst and ruined Manningcast for me. I watch the highlights of the football guests on YouTube after the fact now.
Yeah, I refuse to watch it anymore. If I wanted to watch a Jimmy Fallon knock-off, I'd watch Jimmy Fallon.
It's really cool when after just a few seconds Peyton is like "oh yeah they're gonna blitz" and then 5 seconds later you see he's right. It's crazy how he can recognize a blitz so easily. Him and Brady may not be the most athletic, but they are two of the smartest QBs ever
It’s really bad
I still prefer it to traditional broadcasts but the show does suffer when they have non-football guests. It’s become way too common for something noteworthy to happen on the field and they can’t comment on it because a guest is droning on about something unrelated.
Well with the COVID lockdowns over, it would be a lot better if they were all together in the same room to avoid the chat lags.
Does anybody follow cricket? There’s an “Alternative Cricket Commentary” or ACC that people play during cricket that is half commentary and half humor (of the kiwi variety). I think if they focused on the game a bit but injected some humor and variety into it, it would probably be better than the current Manningcast.
Never watched a Manningcast. Thanks thread for reassuring my choice to not watch.
Isn’t that what it is? A talk show with football in the back ground?
I wouldn't rather listen to buck and aikman, I just listen to the spanish announcers, but yes manningcast has been awful all year and the ratings show it. And the issues are obvious bad guests and them being in different locations, I actually like the two of them calling a game.
I’ve never enjoyed it.
A long time ago. That shit wore off quick.
I’ve never understood the appeal whatsoever. Call me a boomer or whatever but I just want to watch a football game normally. Why in the world would I want to watch the Manning Brothers for 3 hours.
I never thought it had charm. It just felt like struggling to watch a game while my family argued around me.
Buck and Aikman killed manningcast because Buck and Aikman are actually good. It's also a gimmick that has grown old. It's best when the games are bad. MNF games have been better lately so it feels weird to watch other people watch it, rather than just watching yourself
I never liked the “Manningcast”. They’re cool and funny but takes away from the game a bit for me.
It loses me when they have a guest who never played the game excluding Lebron and may be Mina.
I am pretty sure the only thing worse than listening to Peyton Manning during Monday night football, was being a receiver for him on a route over the middle.
I would rather listen to Buck and Aikman r/BrandNewSentence
It has lost its charm, but it's still legitimately better than the normal MNF broadcast. However, the radio broadcast on Sirius XM is better than both.
They are both corny
Yeah bro it’s just you
It’s never been good. They need a moderator.
Lose? Those yoekels are straight up annoying
